Someone is killing cyborgs.
In this new book by Anna Mocikat, we again visit Olympias City where Nephilim is trying to discover who is killing Guardian Angels. I found this to be highly exciting. You get lots of action but there is also behind the scenes wheeling and dealing. I truly enjoyed this!

As much as I loved Behind Blue Eyes, I love Fallen Angels even more!
I could not put this book down! I was constantly trying to read it at work, after I was supposed to be asleep, and any time I could. It was so incredible to be reunited with all of our favorite characters again, and it was especially interesting to see Nephilim conforming to the Angels agenda for once.
Showing us a completely different side of almost everyone, this sequel shines even brighter than I thought it would. I cannot wait for the next book on the series!

OMG! This book just broke all my reading records. I couldn't stop reading it, damn the consequences.
I just woke up and made my coffee and wanted to read a little before I had to go grocery shopping, cooking and doing a thousand other things.
Yeah, not happened for the next 6 hours. I couldn’t put this book down.
What a book! This second book in the series is even better than the first one.
It's a cyberpunk/sci-fi thriller at it finest (I don't care if such gerne exists or not 🤨).
It's so damn gripping, suspenseful, action-packed and fast-paced, you don't get a millisecond of break.
Have you read a book without taking a breath, because you are afraid you will miss something? That was the last 30% of this book. I swear I was really sweating and had stiff hands.
I loved the characters in book 1 and was devastated about the ending, but it all makes sense reading book 2.
Nephilim’s life changes drastically after her adventure in book one.
As Guardian Angel her cyborg life has improved immensely, she is now an Archangel, the favorite of the High-Archangel Metatron, but she has lost all memories and is clueless what happened before.
She treats Metatron as her mentor and leader, she does what he asks of her and enjoys it 😈🔥
I was irritated at first because I didn't like Metatron at all in the first book. After all, he was the bad guy.
But the longer I read, the more I liked this guy. It has actually never happened to me that I liked the negative, the evil character.
But honestly, he's so in love with her that you just have to like him.
But only a tiny bit, he's still the bad guy in the story 😉
In this fascinating and exciting cyborgs, humans and robots world, everything revolves around power.
The Olympias’s Inner Circle, the rich and powerful want the total control over all citizens to secure their comfortable life.
“Olympias has total control over all aspects of life—and death—for its citizens. You could call that totalitarian, but that wouldn’t fit the description of a utopia. And we all live in a utopia, right?”
Metatron want the total control over the whole Olympias. He prepare his Guardian Angel for his ultimate dream. He wants to take over the world as the strongest species on the planet.
Gosh, it is so much going on in this book at such a fast pace that it is simply not possible to describe it in a spoiler free review. The incredible way Anna describes the masterpieces of future technology is fascinating and terrifying at the same time.

I will note that I read this in its unedited form as a beta reader, and it was AMAZING. as such, I will have to read it again. The story is unchanged, but I’m certain the improvements from editing will make it even more fantastic.
New characters, detectives of Olympias police, arrive on the scene of a grisly murder.
The shock is that the victim is one of the baddest people in the land. A GUARDIAN ANGEL...
We spend time with detectives Siro and Spider as they deal with their liaison, the baddest Angel of them all. Nephilim. She’s Promoted, upgraded, and more badass than ever.
But will it be enough?
The tone for me was that of a darker more ‘noir detecive’ vibe as there is a mystery to solve. But there’s no shortage of heat, action, and other intrigue!
Cant wait for book 3!!

After reading Behind Blue Eyes I was eager to see where the story was going and I was blown away, this is a sequel that exceeds the first. Expanding on the world, characters and pushing the story forward to some fascinating and really interesting places. Can't wait for the next one!!!

OMG! Dieses Buch hat einfach alle meine Leserekorde gebrochen.
Ich konnte nicht aufhören es zu lesen, verdammt die Konsequenzen, wie eine schlaflose Nacht 🤣
Ich bin heute aufgewacht, habe meinen Kaffee gekocht und wollte ein wenig lesen, bevor ich einkaufen, kochen und tausend andere Dinge, tun musste.
Ja, das ist in den nächsten 6 Stunden nicht passiert.
Ich konnte dieses Buch nicht aus der Hand legen.
Was für ein Buch!
Dieses zweite Buch der Reihe ist sogar noch besser als das erste.
Es ist ein Cyberpunk/Science-Fiction-Thriller vom Feinsten.
Es ist so verdammt packend, spannend, actiongeladen und rasant, dass man keine Millisekunde Pause bekommt.
Habst du ein Buch gelesen, ohne Luft zu holen, weil du Angst hattest, etwas zu verpassen?
Das waren die letzten 30 % dieses Buches.
Ich schwöre, ich habe wirklich geschwitzt und hatte steife Hände.
Ich liebte die Charaktere in Buch 1 und war über das Ende am Boden zerstört, aber bei der Lektüre von Buch 2, macht alles Sinn.
Nephilims Leben verändert sich drastisch nach ihrem Abenteuer im ersten Buch.
Als Schutzengel hat sich ihr Cyborg-Leben enorm verbessert, sie ist jetzt ein Erzengel, die Favoritin des Hoch-Erzengels Metatron, aber sie hat alle Erinnerungen verloren und hat keine Ahnung, was vorher passiert ist.
Sie behandelt Metatron als ihren Mentor und Anführer, sie tut, was er von ihr verlangt, und genießt es 😈🔥
Ich war zunächst irritiert, weil mir Metatron im ersten Buch überhaupt nicht gefiel.
Schließlich war er der Bösewicht.
Aber je länger ich las, desto mehr gefiel mir dieser Typ 🙈.
Es ist mir eigentlich noch nie passiert, dass mir der negative, der böse Charakter gefallen hat.
Aber ganz ehrlich, er ist so in sie verliebt, dass man ihn einfach mögen muss.
Aber nur ein kleines bisschen, er ist immer noch der Bösewicht in der Geschichte 😉

In dieser faszinierenden und spannenden Welt aus Cyborgs, Menschen und Robotern dreht sich alles um Macht.
Der innere Kreis der Olympias, die Reichen und Mächtigen, wollen die vollständige Kontrolle über alle Bürger, um ihr angenehmes Leben zu sichern.

I’ll first say that I’m really glad there will be a Book 3 of Behind Blue eyes. As with the end of Book 1 in this series, Fallen Angels (Book 2) ends on a cliffhanger that made me want more. At the beginning of Fallen Angels, Nephilim is Metatron’s “Crown Princess,” which means she has become his obsession in a way. After all, he literally remade her after her betrayal in the last book. Nephilim has no memory of what Metatron did or of the man she loved and saved in Book 1. Nephilim is even more deadly than in the last book thanks to her upgrades.
Despite her enhanced power, Nephilim is a bit unnerved by the event that set off Book 2. This time, someone is murdering and mutilating Angels. Who is doing this? Why? These murders flip the power dynamic in the last book because it is hard to imagine that someone is strong enough to take out killing machines. Another point of conflict in the story comes when Nephilim is confronted by her past.
Book 2 of this series is just as exciting as Book 1. I loved Fallen Angels more than the first, probably because I felt invested in the characters’ fates from the first chapter. The book’s ambiance is just as dark, beautiful, and menacing as the first. Fans of cyberpunk will love this novel.

The sworn protectors of the City are being picked off and killed in what looks to be an insanely gruesome and torturous manner, and the hunters are using a formerly unknown technology to do so. They are being hunted, and Nephilim is in charge of finding out who while she faces her own internal battle.
Nephilim, also known as the Crown Princess, is back in action with her memory wiped. That on it’s own makes for a drastic change in her character, goals, and what we’ve come to know and love about her. While mysteries surrounding her are still there, we are met with a brand-new taste of glitched-out memories piecing themselves back together. But as we learned in the first book, and from George Orwell, “If you want to keep a secret, you must also hide it from yourself.”
It is clear to most, if not all, in the Olympias City that Nephilim stands as Metatron’s favourite Archangel. With the new tech emerging to slaughter the Angels, Neph very quickly became one of the main targets. Already struggling with her memory loss made piecing such things together difficult enough, but being in charge of the investigation and following a lead, it almost got her killed. Visions from the past, both distant and recent, have her head spinning as she tries to pull what bits of truth and logic out of it that she can.
In this sequel to Behind Blue Eyes, we see a different side in almost every single character — yes, even Metatron. We see expertly crafted struggle and growth as hatred, love, betrayal and loyalty all come together in this emotional, face-paced work of science fiction art. And the further you get into this book, the more you realize that no one in it is truly safe, and that everyone seems to have their own motives.
Fallen Angels once more shows us the potential and dangerousness of futuristic technology. Whether it is for us or against us, developed flaws in artificial intelligence or the wrong use of technology can lead to absolute disaster. There is just as much world building as there is destruction, as much violence as there is devotion, and as much pain as there is pleasure.
As much as I loved Behind Blue Eyes, this sequel is a match. I love Fallen Angels just as much as the first book and the cliffhanger just about had me dead. I am (im)patiently waiting for the day I can buy the third book and will (not) be calm and collected as I await the answers to all my endless questions.

Fallen Angels expands on its source material in every way. Not only is the world at large shown firsthand, but the city of Olympias itself also feels even more alive, rather than just a set piece. Learning more about the often referenced "Inner Circle" is compelling, and the several new characters introduced are all interesting people that I feel could carry a book on their own.

Behind Blue Eyes 2 does all the things you would want from a sequel, without any of the middle-book let-downs that can often occur. The continuing story of Nephilim and the Angels is expanded upon with more insights and revelations scattered throughout that keep you wanting to learn more, while the high-paced action keeps you turning the pages. Also, the addition of several new ‘street-level’ characters that are well-developed could easily have their own spin-off stories and quickly became personal favourites of mine.
Overall, this book perfectly continues to add to Mocikat’s ever-expanding cyberpunk world with a story and style that keeps you reading with its fast-paced chapters and non-stop action.

This review is for the Audiobook Version. a highly recommended way of consuming this book.
I read the first book in this series, and enjoyed it, it was fast action packed with many twists. it wasn't until I listened to this book through the gravelly voice of Sean that I recognised the depth of this series.
After the first Behind Blue Eyes book in the series I expected more of the same. However in Fallen Angels takes it to another level. The story is filled with a similar level of action, but Anna Mocikat, ratchets up the political intrigue revealing political plots, plans and philosophies of the main players in this story.
There are many layers of thought behind this story that are revealed in this entry. Anna's mix of action, international tension and the machinations of politics not only reveals fascinating observations of society and culture, but the consequences of some of those policies and ultimately human nature, sometimes horrifying and other times heartfelt and vulnerable.
For me this increased the tension levels as the stakes increase significantly. The interplay between what the reader knows after the first book in the series and what the characters know in Fallen Angels is skillfully done particularly in light of the revelations throughout the story.
This book turned me from an admirer of Anna's work to a big fan.
I never would have thought I'd enjoy an audiobook as much as I enjoy reading it myself. Sean Duregger changed that with this story. His characterisations and smooth storytelling meant I wanted to listen to this at normal speed so I could savour his skillful voice acting. I listened to it every chance I got until I was done, and the third in the series can't come soon enough.
In my experience with audiobooks so far this ranks as excellent in terms of production and voice acting skills. Everything feels high quality as if Sean is sipping expensive whiskey as he switches between characters and narration.
It works on many levels, if you just want action and lots of it, I think it will satisfy you. If you want some thought provoking observations of society, it's there too if you want. And it is all woven into a story that is described so well I felt like I was watching it on Netflix.

It’s very rare that I become so engrossed in a book, I can’t wait to read the next one. Behind Blue Eyes was a fantastic read – so much so, I bought the second book before I’d even finished the first.
Fallen Angels transports you back into the world, this time in 2096 – one year after the events of book one. The dangers and deceptions are heightened, the interactions are more intense and the grip of control over its people has tightened. This is not a world you’d want to live in and yet in a strange way, I find it comfortingly familiar. When I open the book, I’m there – as if I somehow belong. Through brilliant writing, realistic characters and incredible world-building, I’m not only buying what Mocikat is selling, I’m living it.
I can see myself walking around Old Town, I know what those buildings look like, how those residents act; I can even imagine the rancid smell from the protein dog venders. And all of this has been implanted into my brain so subtly, I didn’t even realise I was so entrenched in the world until now.
What you thought you knew from the story before will be completely turned on its head. You will question what is going on, what you thought you knew and which character’s you should be siding with. The writing is as good as in the first and now I’ve finished Fallen Angels, I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

BEHIND BLUE EYES: FALLEN ANGEL is the sequel to BEHIND BLUE EYES by Anna Mocikat. It follows up after the traumatic ending where our heroine discovers that resisting a totalitarian mind-controlling corporatocracy isn't as easy as it sounds. The situation is pretty terrible with Metatron keeping her as his mistress and, worse, Nephilim not even knowing that she's supposed to hate him.
The scenes between those are cringe-inducing and you just want her to gut him every time he fakes affection for her. The book introduces new characters in Shiro and Spider that I really enjoyed as well as gives information on the state of the rest of the world. The complicated politics of the setting are also spelled out better with Metatron shown to be in a rivalry with the board of the Olympias Corporation.
The premise is Nephilim has once more fallen under Metatron's evil sway. The charismatic cybernetic leader of the Guardian Angels managed to force Nephilim to being his mistress and erased all of her memories of her rebellion against him. He remains obsessed with making her his queen and, unfortunately, she is unaware she hates him for much of the book. However, as thorough as Metatron's purge of her memories was, it hasn't been as effective as he thought. Little tidbits of memory as well as questions about the corruption of the Olympias Corporation remain that Metatron is blinded to. She also has friends she made that remain determined to reunite with her like her former programmer Finnick and ex-lover Jake who is stuck behind enemy lines.
I really like Jake's story this time around as before he seemed like an idealized revolutionary. Now, the revelation that he was a honeypot for the Rossum Corporation that wants to eliminate all of the Guardian Angels (Nephilim included) means that he's a far more interesting character. He wants to save Nephilim but his betrayal is not something that could be easily forgiven and it's clear he hasn't developed a desire to defect either (nor would Nephilim be accepted by his people either). This is a very interesting twist and makes their romance or its dissolution very interesting. Much of the book is also dealing with a serial murderer of cyborgs and the twist as to who is "really" responsible is both hilarious as well as ties a lot of the books' twists together.
I really liked the new characters of Shiro and Spider. Both are police detectives who provide a "grounds eye view" of the Olympias Corporation as well as its corruption. Shiro is an alternative love interest for Nephilim and I'd be interested in seeing how they connect. Mind you, so is Spider and I like that all three of them have sexual chemistry. The books are very queer friendly with a bisexual protagonist and a society that is friendly to unconventional sexual expression. Sadly, this book also has the protagonist brainwashed into her current relationship so some readers may be put off reading by that.
I also liked the corporate intrigue depicted in the book with the conflict between Rossum and Olympias, the internal conflict between Metatron and the Board, plus the people of each arcology versus their own governments. I think cyberpunk is a great genre for infighting among factions and moral ambiguity that Anna Mocikat really brings out. I am eager to see which corporation emerges triumphant but the fact that all of them are awful in their own way is part of the world-building. Olympias gives you all the sex and material pleasure you could want but is ruthlessly oppressive to free expression. Rossum allows religious expression but creates scapegoats from every other faction and wields a terrifying propaganda machine.
As before, the action is incredible and the story is entertaining. I really want Nephilim to get free and turn against Metatron but I also know that this is mostly set up for the next installment of the series. This is the EMPIRE STRIKES BACK of the series. I strongly recommend the book to those who read the previous one but there's a lot of gut punches here given how hard we rooted for Nephilim the first time. I recommend the audiobook over the Kindle edition due to the excellent narration by Sean Duregger.

A Sequel of Even Greater Depth and Excitement
Fallen Angels, Anna Mocikat’s second installment of her science fiction series Behind Blue Eyes, takes the memorable interactions and foundations of the first novel and makes them broader, richer, and deeper. Our cyborg heroine Nephilim has had her memory wiped; she returns as a more formidable killing machine than ever. Her charismatic leader Metatron mentors her and picks her as the “Crown Princess” to his High Archangel. As appropriate in a novel rife with paradoxes, this romance is a glacially steamy affair.
Mocikat does a wonderful job of slowly delivering the layered legacy of the savagely cerebral Metatron, a figure consistently menacing and sympathetic. Nephilim’s ascent in the Angel hierarchy and her nascent martial prowess deliver a clarion call for a golden age of the Guardian Angels.
And yet … so many other elements in Fallen Angels point to looming chaos and destruction. Forces emerge from the two competing global superpowers that threaten the very existence of Olympia. Nephilim’s old lover Jake, a spy from Rosprom, returns. A mysterious figure called the Broker has been sharing software and secrets that attack the few vulnerabilities of the Guardian Angels. And, oh yeah, a number of those seeming invincible Guardian Angels have been brutally and ritualistically slaughtered.
Into this mix are the police officers Siro and Kate who ground this otherworldly novel in some old-fashioned, gritty, shoe-leather detective work. Their territory of Old Town serves as a stark contrast to the sumptuous inner circle galas and the exotic sultriness of a Brazilian outpost. Mocikat’s physical world building fleshes out the rich psychology of the characters, particularly Metatron and Nephilim. Nephilim’s scattered reawakening from her memory wipe – marked by sordid memories and burgeoning emotions – echoes the last novel, underscoring both the patterns of machines and the compulsions of humanity. Meanwhile, Metatron is similarly haunted by memories and the influence of Nephilim’s father, the former leader Lucifer. Freud would have a field day with the relationships in this novel.
These artfully spun web of characters and plot elements will lead to breathtaking fight scenes and a dramatic climax that is at once thrilling and disarming. The edge-of-your-seat ending intimates that so much more is to come in a subsequent novel, a novel I anxiously await.

It has been a year since Nephilim's memory was wiped. One year since her life should have ended, but was instead spared by the High-Archangel, Metatron. Since she no longer remembers she has become the perfect killing machine once more. But, when someone begins to kill the angels could the answer to who is behind it be wrapped in her past? What will happen to her if she begins to remember?
I received this book as an ARC (Advanced Reader's Copy) from the author in exchange for an honest review. I will start by saying I have adored Anna since the first book of hers that I got over a year ago. I have high expectations from her books and they always bring me joy to read and this one is no exception. I started the book as soon as it was sent to me and had to force myself to put it down. After-all, it took me a year to get this one and who knows when I will get the next one. None the less, I did finish it rather quickly and I am already pining for the next one. I have so many questions.
Nephilim is, as always, an amazing cyborg. I can say that this book did not take the turns that I was expecting. I will not give anything away, but I expected the characters from the previous book to have more of a role. Don't get me wrong; Jake, Finwick, Adriel, Nephilim, and Metatron are still in this book along with some new characters. I just expected them to interact with each other more like they did in the first book. I am excited to see how everything goes together in the next book as there are so many avenues this could take.
With my review of book one I stated that Adriel was my favorite character. I still love Adriel, but I didn't get as much of him in this book. He felt more like a background character than a lovable partner in crime. I hope that in the next book what he did for Neph in book one is brought back into light. I feel that would bring back more of their comradery, even if he is technically below her in the power structure of this book instead of being an equal partner in book one. I will say that I love that Anna made a point for Neph and Adriel to still go to the bar and spend time together outside of work, even though things have changed.
I truly hope that you will give this wonderful steampunk cyborg book a chance, but please please please check out book one while you are at it! It will make everything make that much more sense.

As beautiful as they are lethal, these Angels are led by their enigmatic, powerful High Archangel, Metatron. Of all his operatives, the capable, brilliant, sexy Nephilim reigns supreme in his favor. Her journey in Behind Blue Eyes led her through some unexpectedly emotionally powerful spaces, shaking her loyalty and very identity to their core.
As is his wont, the infinitely ambitious, masterfully manipulative Metatron has changed the conditions of the game in Fallen Angels. As a result, his relationship with his now even more powerful protege grows deeper and more interesting. When I wrote my review for the first book in the Behind Blue Eyes series by Anna Mocikat, I said that noir Cyberpunk novels weren’t my normal taste in fiction.
After reading the sequel, Behind Blue Eyes: Fallen Angels, I may have to change that opinion!
Fallen Angels carries on the story of Nephilim and the Angels from the first book brilliantly. Picking up not long after the events of Behind Blue Eyes and grabs your attention right from the start. Building on the story of Nephilim and the other characters we met, it also introduces several new characters that I found myself really wanting to know more about, especially the human police duo that play a major role.
Once again Mocikat brings us a combination of wonderfully written action sequences, (that really deserve to be seen on the big screen!) characters that you love to read about and a plot that keeps you wondering what will happen next all the time!
Roll on book three! I can’t wait!

Book 2 thoughts
Most times, a sequel will often be a pale reflection in comparison to the first. But I could tell by the first page this was not the case. Most times, a sequel will often be a pale reflection in comparison to the first. But I could tell by the first page this was not the case. Book 2 picks up about a year later, and not only explores the relationship between Nephilim and Metatron... But what the Inner.Circle conglomerate wants to do with the Angel Corps. This is similar is style and quality to book 1 and I’ve enjoyed it a lot. It was good to see more of the world that Nephilim lives in. Whereas book 1 was self contained I do feel book 2 is a springboard to the continuation of the series. There is a plot that gets wrapped up as part of the story but there is now a much bigger picture at play.
Love the dialogue especially in the audio version with two actors playing the male and female roles. That does bring the story to life.
Sex is something of a tool in this world; used for motivation and control. It was something that I didn’t like in the first book and there’s more in the second. From a writing pov it’s done well but just not to my taste.
Overall a good story and I look forward to the next episode

You will meet familiar characters and of course Nephilim is the protagonist once again. The story picks up some time after the last book ended. Nephilim’s memory has been wiped and she has joined Metatron as his favorite archangel. Unlike the previous book there weren’t all the unexpected twists and turns, but one thing did surprise me and I won’t spoil it for you. This book was a fairly straightforward action story with a lot sex mixed in. I enjoyed it as entertaining light reading, but missed the elements that made the first book so great with Rosprom plot and such. In the first book I felt Nephilim was a better reader’s proxy’s as she gains awareness of herself, but in this book she is too distant and unrelatable with a focus more on her prowess fighting and how inhumanly sexy she is.
Having said that mild criticism, I did enjoy the book as a fast paced never boring page turner. If you liked Behind Blue Eyes, give it a read, but don’t expect it to be the same.

If you’ve read other books by Anna Mocikat, you know she doesn’t beat about the bush much. Instead, she throws you in the middle of the action and lets you fend for yourself.
The story begins in the aftermath of a gruesome murder, and the victim is a guardian angel. That comes as a shock because they’re seen as invincible killing machines if you remember the first book. The worst part is the this wasn’t the first or the last.
We meet new characters, a couple of police detectives who investigate the guardian angels’ murders. Their story intersects with Nephilim, and they agree to help each other solve cases.
Following the previous book’s events, Nephilim was rebuilt by Metatron, and her memory was erased, then she was promoted to archangel. She’s now loyal to him. Her new upgrades make her more powerful and dangerous than before, almost as powerful as Metatron. Anna, through Metatron’s voice, references the Pygmalion legend from Greek Mythology. He is obsessed with his creation, and it shows as Nephilim becomes knowns as the “Crown Princess.”
The story unfolds like a detective mystery as they now have a mystery to solve: who has the power to incapacitate the guardian angels, and how can they be stopped. The mystery will be solved, and it will be the best plot twist of the novel. I did not see it coming!
Character development is again outstanding. If Metatron is the ultimate villain you love to hate in the first book, Anna makes it harder to hate him in Fallen Angels. No, don’t expect him to be all rainbow and unicorns! He is not the good guy, nor does he try to redeem his sins. Metatron wants to rule the world, at least the Olympians.
Anna Mocikat constructed a world that’s so intricate and complex but described in such a compact, coherent manner that readers might not realize how much info she’s packed in.

Fast-paced, High-stakes
The author delivers in this sequel to Behind Blue Eyes.
While action-packed, this installment focuses on the threats that the Angels face from interior and exterior forces. Think of a more Byzantine, more sex/action-oriented version of Dune. While there are several storylines, the author keeps them clear and moving by centering the focus around the main characters of Nephilim and Metatron.
This installment begins with the murders of several of the enhanced Angels, the killers and keepers of the peace for the new cities of Olympias. The narrative quickly shifts into a broader scope of mystery and riddles using the themes of power as a driving force for the action.
Not to give too much away. The world-building is excellent, bringing the reader into the grandeur of the corrupt rich and the grittiness of the criminal underworld. The characters keep your focus, having depth and riveting motivations.
The writing is excellent and the momentum builds through the final act. There a cliffhanger, and here's hoping the author comes out with book 3 quickly.

Fallen Angels is the second book in the Behind Blue Eyes series, written by independent author Anna Mocikat. This story begins with the premise that someone is killing members of the Guardian Angels, an elite band of cyborg soldiers.
This noir cyberpunk story kicks off roughly a year after the events of the first book. Anna Mocikat again introduces us to the Archangel Nephilim, who has been reset to factory settings.
Now the compliant and efficient killing machine that the High Archangel expects, doors open for her. This gives us a glimpse of the political players that influence this utopian society. We watch as relationships blossom, while memories of the gap year come pouring in as bits and pieces.
This book is loaded with action, intrigue, foreshadowing, and of course sex, which will not disappoint fans. I found this quick read difficult to put down. Fortunately, there are plenty of natural pauses in the book.
As with Behind Blue Eyes, there are multiple elements at play, and Olympias' enemies have not been idle. How some of these parts come into play has yet to play out, and for that we need to wait for the release of War Games, now available to pre-order.

Back to the Behind Blue Eyes universe with the second book in the series, and boy, what a return.
The author introduces two new characters to the series, and they instantly became firm favourites. Which is great timing, as Anna has just announced that she's got a new project centered around these two!
As for the story, it was a marvellous expansion on the world Anna created with the first book. We get to explore a few more cities, which were beautifully described and painted a brilliant cyberpunk image in my mind's eye. I won't say too much in terms of detail, but the character progression for our protagonist, Nephilim, is fantastic.
This is something you don't want to miss, and I'm so excited to continue the series. Cyberpunk perfection.

Great Buildup
Another exciting story and although a lot more political we do learn a lot more about the world setting and more depth into the characters. Some great moments and a good set up for book 3.

I adored BBE1 yet somehow BBE2 has matched it, it's the sequel I was waiting for a was so glad Anna took her time and didn't rush it out. It's so good. No spoilers but, I can't see any way you'll be let down here, Fallen Angels has not fallen short of my expectations.

Well this was a rather fun ride with our favorite fallen angel. She was in fine form after her last encounter with her boss. Neph finds herself in charge of a rather nasty investigation. It has some interesting twists.

One of the best cyberpunk books you will ever read
Fallen Angles perfectly takes over where Behind Blue Eyes left off, and then goes to new heights of intrigue, brutality, sexuality and all-around action.
This is one of the best dystopian cyberpunk books ever written!
