Sarah is a young Amish woman who toils away at her overbearing father's general store. The only thing that gets her through the day is her dream of becoming a singer, an endeavor that is frowned upon by her Amish community. Despite her community's adherence to not performing for personal glory, she meets a young English teacher who hears her voice and wants to help support her artistic gift. Will she override her Amish belief system and pursue a career in music? And will she entertain her growing infatuation with her young teacher?
Always Amish was sweet, clean, heartwarming, inspirational. I really enjoyed Sarah and John's story. I remember the first time my Dad took us up to Lancaster, PA and he hired a guide and told us about Dutch a country and the Amish way of life. I really enjoy reading stories like Always Amish because it give me a look into their way of life.
This is a little unbelievable that John would leave his father and move to an unknown town. As soon as he comes in town he meets the local shopkeepers daughter and things move quickly I liked the story but it just was too short to fill in all the gaps. Can John become a part of the community and live happily ever after? Read the story and find out.
