I have to be honest, because of my complete ignorance of showbiz and PR and such, lot of this was so foreign to me, particularly in the beginning of the book. Some things just didn’t add up in my head. Like taking Arthur on despite Lauren’s insistence on never working with an actor again, not to mention Arthur’s horrible image. Was it just to have a famous face? And fake dating instead of just saying Mia was a family member? It seems weird. Again, this could be a total lack of knowledge on my part.
It was a quick read, but pretty hard to get invested in. I felt no pull towards any of the characters except maybe Mia for a long time. That being said, once I was about halfway through the book, I did feel a better connection to both Lauren and Arthur. The sister group chat was also so relatable. I do feel like so much was brushed over though. There was a lot of random time jumping or just a lack of building on a situation in general, and even the family drama felt very forced and unrealistic. I also hate to nitpick and be the grammar police, but I did notice quite a few errors that were overlooked, in addition to the format sometimes confusing me as to who is speaking, and quite a few repeated stories or paragraphs.
I did enjoy the writing itself. It was easy to follow, the dialogue was fun and well written for the most part, I just wish everything didn’t feel so rushed or forced. I would be willing read another book by this author with an open mind, just something more relatable to my own personal life so I don’t feel so lost.

Gia Kise delivers a beautifully messy, deeply human story about what happens after the breaking point, when you stop running from your pain and start learning how to live with it. Kise writes with the kind of emotional honesty that hits like a punch to the chest. The dual POV works perfectly: Lauren’s chapters are sharp and restrained, while Arthur’s are raw and vulnerable. Their chemistry simmers, but what really shines is the tenderness underneath, the quiet moments where both characters finally let themselves be seen. The pacing slows in spots, and a few scenes could be trimmed, yet the heart of the story never wavers. The supporting cast, especially Dash and Mia, adds warmth, humor, and perspective that make this world feel lived-in. If you like your romance layered with real pain, real growth, and characters who earn their happy ending, this one’s for you.

I absolutely loved loved loved this book! First of all, the tropes and themes were amazing! I mean, a celebrity romance AND some fake dating?! Sign me up! I also really loved the character development throughout the book! The characters are written in such a gripping way! If you’re looking for a fun and spicy romance, this one’s for you!!

Gia has a way to get you hooked with her writing. This is the second book I devour in days. The combination of love, smut, mystery, family affairs, drama and friendship is great
