I, Special Agent Serena Cruz have fallen in love with a con man. I've accepted that. And it's surprisingly enjoyable.
But agreeing to go on a treasure hunt with the same thief? It's probably a bad idea. Scratch that, it’s a terrible idea. How many times can we almost die before our luck runs out?
Married To Mischief is a fun and light-hearted romantic short story following Liam and Serena From Taken With Trouble.
The same as for 'Date with danger', which had a sequel in 'Engaged in espionage', this one is a novella for 'Taken with trouble'. I was so excited for both of these, because all the characters are so hilarious and the whole story was so much fun to follow. Thank you so much Jenessa for accepting me to be part of your ARC team for this one too!
Special Agent Serena and Liam were the main characters of the 2nd book of 'Caught in Chaos' series. Now it was time for other adventures, filled with silly pranks and suspense moments. No time to get bored with these two, especially when a treasure is involved. But, of course, things won't go as planned and they will find themselves in some pretty dangerous situations.
Our amazing main characters from the 1st book will be making their appearances in this short story, which I loved because these 4 had such a fun relationship. I laughed so much while reading this novella because of the situations Liam and Serena were in or those ingenious pranks they kept on making on each other.
It was a super short read, but which kept me on my toes until the end. Either with some funny parts or others filled with suspense, all of them created a wonderful story, which will always remind me of Psych series.
Oh how I love all things Serena and Liam! These two are #CoupleGoals! I honestly can't get enough of them! This was a perfect edition to their story. Another quick, fun, fast paced, action-packed, and swoony book! This is definitely a series that I will be rereading over and over and over again! Y'all need to read this series! It's the BEST!

“Relax.” Liam places a hand on my leg. “I have a good feeling about this.” “You say that about everything.” He lifts a shoulder. “And it’s worked so far. Especially about you.” He winks. “Such a charmer. Now stop it and come up with a real plan.”
“I called Garth to bring the chopper.” “You’re getting really attached to that thing. I might have to make you send it back.” Liam gasps. “Garth is a person; I can’t just send him back to the womb.” I raise an eyebrow. “You know what I meant.” “Aw,” he pouts. “But Garth said he would teach me how to fly.” Of course he did. “That is not happening.”
“A beautiful night for a romantic ride, eh?” “Eh?” I laugh. “Are you Canadian now?” “I’ve been lots of things. Pretended to be even more things. Is it a deal breaker?” “I should say yes…but no.” I love every version of Liam I’ve come to know.

Liam and Serena are back—and they’re better (and more chaotic) than ever! Married to Mischief is a delightful continuation of a series that’s quickly stolen my heart. Janessa Fayeth nails that perfect balance of humor and heart, making this short story an absolute joy to read.
The story is packed with adventure—there’s danger, a treasure hunt, and all the twists you’d expect from a wild escapade through London. But at the center of all the mischief is the undeniable chemistry between Liam and Serena. Their banter is hilarious, their love is swoony, and their antics are pure entertainment.
And the cherry on top? Two epilogues! Fayeth knows exactly what her readers want and delivers it with style.
If you love a quick read that has laughs, love, and just a touch of danger, this one’s for you. The whole series is a lovable romp, and Married to Mischief is a shining gem in the collection.
A perfect ending for Taken with Trouble… and I really mean that.
Over the past few days, I’ve completely fallen in love with these characters. I adore their personalities (and if you’ve been here for the whole ride: yes, I’ve changed my mind about Amelia). Their humor. Their… okay, yeah, looks. It’s just perfect for me.
The reason I’m giving this book 4 stars instead of the 4.5 I gave the previous two is because it felt a little predictable. I still really enjoyed the story, but the storyline itself—maybe because after three books I know these characters so well—was easier to see coming. No spoilers, but let’s just say I called it out loud to my e-reader in the first or second chapter.
I just love the whole Caught in Chaos series! This novella continued Serena and Liam’s story so well. It was so fun to see them in action again. And the proposal and wedding both made me laugh and swoon at the same time and they were both so unique. Jenessa did not disappoint. You’ll want to at least read book 2 before you read this one. But I have enjoyed the whole series and definitely recommend.
If you are looking for a fun, quick read this, look no further! This novelette has high stakes adventure for our favorite female special agent and her an anything but ordinary boyfriend. They are both determined to find the Cillian Moore treasure and will stop at nothing to find it! I loved their antics and the fact that one of them is terrified of chickens is absolutely hysterical! One has to wonder if we are going to get another full length novel or if this will wrap up our time with Agents Cruz and Harris, as well as the misfits Amelia and Liam! Thanks for bringing the smile to my face!
I had such a blast reading this novella and loved getting to see my favorite characters again, especially with their hearts completely wrapped up in each other. It felt like watching an episode of White Collar, and I couldn’t stop smiling the whole time. Liam quickly became a favorite of mine, with all his similarities to Neal Caffrey—he’s just so much fun. This story was the perfect blend of rom-com with a hint of suspense. I really hope this isn’t the last time I get to see these characters; I’d love to visit them again!
Oh my gosh, this short story was so good! I already loved Liam and Serena in Taken With Trouble, so I was super excited when the author gave us more of them. It was just the cutest—seriously, the way he treats her is adorable. If you liked the first book, you’re definitely going to want to read this one too.😍

“I found the treasure I’ve been searching for my whole life. My one and only.”
•Content: mild peril, high speed chase, alcohol scene, minimal minor language, kisses only.
“I’ll never be worthy of Serena, but I’ll never stop trying to be the man she deserves.”
-I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.
“Did you find it?” Serena whispers. Did I find my heart? Yes, it’s in her hands. Or maybe she means my mind that’s wrapped up in her. “I found everything I need.”
If you haven't read this series yet, I beg you to stop and read the previous books right now! Why? Well obviously I want you to get to know the principal characters from their "book birth" existence because this book will be so much more enjoyable if you do. Because Liam is quite the interesting book boyfriend, as is the lovely Serena. Past history is fascinating, and everything comes to a surprising conclusion in "Married to Mischief!"
And Liam and Serena have history! (Remember the first paragraph above?) This book starts with Liam's release from custody and a mad rush to discover a long lost treasure. His girlfriend (AKA Special Agent Serena Cruz) is the one with the keys to the ankle monitor. The treasure hunt for the Cillian Moore treasure is on. Outrageous behavior is the norm to Liam, and this hunt is no exception. Fraught with danger, excitement, and curious behavior, Serena is sucked into Liam's hunt. You will be too as the pages fly by in mounting excitement! It's fast paced, exciting, romantic, and oh so funny! Prepare to laugh, anticipate what comes next, and to swoon. With characters that are predictably unpredictable and exciting locations, It's a joy to read and a little sad (for me anyway) when it ends. Fun, great characters, and I loved every minute of the book! I only wish there were more adventures with this couple.
Fantastic author! Jenessa Fayeth is an author who never disappoints, and leaves you wanting more! I can hardly wait what she will have for her readers next!
🤍 Release Date: April 1, 2025 🤍 . . . This is the final story in the Caught in Chaos series and it takes us on a wild, but oh so fun, adventure with Liam and Serena! I have highly enjoyed every moment I’ve spent reading through this series and I can’t wait to see what Jenessa Fayeth has in store next for us readers 😁
Married to Mischief picks up with the epilogue in Taken With Trouble and continues on a wild and chaotic ride that only Liam and Serena could bring about. From landing in Peru and almost being roasted over a fire, to trying on wedding dresses in a bougie dress shop, these two will keep you guessing and highly entertained in this short story!
The dynamic between Liam and Serena was just as swoony as ever! I loved their fiery banter and sizzling chemistry ✨ If any two people were ever destined to be together, it would definitely be these two!
Read it for: 🔫 The White Collar vibes 🔫 Wild adventures 🔫 A treasure hunt 🔫 An epic car chase 🔫 Swoony romance 🔫 The most beautiful HEA ♥️ . . . Thank you, Jenessa, for allowing me to read an arc of your new short story 🤍
Married to Mischief is a short story featuring Serena and Liam from Taken with Trouble. While this may still be an enjoyable read on its own, readers who have read the book are definitely going to get the most out of it.
To say that I am obsessed with these Caught in Chaos short stories would be a completely understatement. This series is a favorite for me, so getting to not only spend more time in that world, but specifically with the couples that I already adore... well, what could be better than that? In this one we catch up with Serena and Liam and are taken on quite the adventure as they search out treasure. It was packed full of their hilarious banter and that almost threatening flirting that I loved in the book. From the moment their story started, I found myself smiling and I don't think I stopped once until the end. It doesn't matter how brief the visit; I will always be happy for another adventure and this one certainly did not disappoint in the slightest. This is a short read- easily read in one sitting- but the perfect escape to put a smile on your face.
Married to Mischief is a closed-door romance with kisses only. It does have minimal minor language.
**ARC received for consideration. All opinions are my own.
Starring Serena & Liam in their ending, short story. Their mission is not complete quite yet. With Liam out of house arrest and working alongside the FBI, it is time to take a break. They have to find their missing treasure. Their final adventure takes them back to where they started. But with them it was never going to be straight forward. The question is do they find their treasure…..
The final instalment of the Caught in Chaos, and it was amazing. Liam & Serena original story was just so perfect and this ending for them just complements them so well. Liam will forever and always be a such a big flirt. His love for Serena is impeccable, he would do anything to make her smile/ laugh and make her know how loved she is. There bickering just make their relationship so much better, because what else would a FBI agent and ex con artist do in their relationship.
I, Special Agent Serena Cruz have fallen in love with a con man. I’ve accepted that. And it’s surprisingly enjoyable. But agreeing to go on a treasure hunt with the same thief? It’s probably a bad idea. Scratch that, it’s a terrible idea. How many times can we almost die before our luck runs out?
This is more than deja vu; this is some cruel joke. “Liam Arthur Hawthorne!” His head pops in the doorway. “Bringing out my middle name. I must really be in trouble.”
Oh man, these two!! What a delightful continuation to this series. You have adventure, danger, a treasure hut, twists and turns, and two people who just absolutely love each other. 4 stars.
This is the second mini episode in the series and it occurs after the epilogue of Taken With Trouble. Liam takes Serena on one more action-packed adventure. I loved revisiting this very dynamic and unusual couple! I had so much fun reading this and the first mini episode, Engaged In Espionage. Liam and Serena are so competitive with each other and yet, love each other so much! I loved experiencing the chemistry between them.
There are no swears, some alcohol consumption with 1 drunk scene, and level 2 descriptive kisses only.
These short stories are so incredibly fun! I’m so happy to get more of Liam and Serena. You definitely have to read Taken with Trouble first but then run back and read this short story because it is epic. I have loved getting these characters stories wrapped up. I loved going on one more adventure with Liam and Serena. If you were curious about the treasure in the last book then you absolutely must read this. CW: closed door (kisses only)
Thank you to the author for allowing me to read this. All thoughts and opinions are my own!
CONTENT -🤬: none -❤️: just kisses -⚠️: high-speed chase
Hi. My name is Alicia, and I LOVE THESE CHARACTERS SO DANG MUCH. I absolutely adored getting to see Liam and Serena's trip to find some treasure. They are a hoot and a half! Their banter continues to be top-notch. I loved what Liam orchestrated for Serena in this short story. I mean, seriously, it was perfect.
I can't wait for more stories by Jenessa because I love her wit and humor!
This one releases April 1st, and if you've read Taken With Trouble, you'll want to pick it up. (If you haven't read Taken With Trouble, please remedy that immediately.)
Favorite Quote: 🐓Liam looks out the window at the chickens and sighs. "Only for you will I face my greatest fear." I snort. "When your greatest fear is a chicken, it's hardly romantic."
4⭐️ ARC Review: Liam and Serena are the ultimate couple. I was so happy to get to read their dynamic one more time before their story ended. It is a super fast paced and quick read. Literally. It’s a short story, so it takes one sitting to get through. If you have read Taken with Trouble, I would highly recommend reading this. The perfect ending for Liam and Serena.
*Thank you to the author, Jenessa Fayeth, for the complimentary copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Married to Mischief is a quick read about the adventures of Liam and Serena after the book Taken with Trouble ends. After Liam is released from house arrest, he and Serena immediately take off to find the treasure that they were looking for in the last book. The witty banter, Liam’s adoration and care for Serena, the scene involving Liam’s greatest fear, the end, and the epilogue are my favorite parts! I received a review copy from the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I love these two! Liam and Serena go on a treasure hunt on this short story epilogue following the events in Taken with Troubles. I love Liam’s banter, he’s always hilarious. He’s definitely one of my favorite characters in this series! I loved this epilogue short story, detailing what happens after. It’s sweet and adorable, and I loved following some of our favorite characters into what happens next in their lives. Overall, totally worth continuing on to see what happens to Liam & Serena!
The treasure hunt of a lifetime… This was a fun addition to Liam and Serena’s story! Great banter, crazy adventures, and fun plot twists. I love their dynamic! This is the best kind of happy ending for these two!
I revived an advanced copy of this novella from the author. I was not required to leave a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
If you haven’t read the previous books in the series, don’t bother reading this one because it is definitely not a stand-alone. However, if you have read the others, enjoy this latest instalment. It’s very fast-paced and over-the-top and hilarious. It’s a really fun, silly read. It’s also very short but it’s also priced accordingly and I picked it up on KU so it didn’t cost me anything.
This is a 70 pages novella so don’t mind my rating.
This book was way more fun than I thought it would be. I read it in one sitting while waiting for my bus and couldn’t and didn’t want to stop!! Compared to the last novella this was a mile better.
Before ya read this, you definitely need to read their novel first. It’s a continuation.
Once again, this story may be short, but it is packed full! More of the White Collar style adventure, hilarity, and swoon. Going on a multi-country treasure hunt with Liam and Serena was so much fun. If you’ve read Taken with Trouble, don’t pass up this little gem up.
TW: Mildly Suspenseful Situations laced with humor
LOVED reading the end of Serena and Liam's story!! this whole series has been great!! I'm happy with how their story ended! I cant wait to see what's next from Jenessa
received an eARC of this and these are my honest thoughts
