Lives of the Eminent Philosophers, Book VII is devoted to the Stoics like Zeno of Citium, Ariston of Chios, Herillus, Dionysius the Renegade, Cleanthes, and Sphaerus.
Diogenes Laertius (Greek: Διογένης Λαέρτιος, lived c. 3rd century CE) was a biographer of the Greek philosophers. Nothing is known about his life, but his surviving Lives and Opinions of Eminent Philosophers is a principal source for the history of Greek philosophy.
An essential read fot who wants to study stoism from the very start. It does have some surprising good parts, but overall you are bombarded with names, their books, and after a while it feels like you are reading off lists. Glad i read it, but will not be returning to it.
