"I was the weak link in the chain, and the best I could do was surround myself with forces of the good. It would increase my chances of survival. But I couldn't replace Adam; not the way Ben meant. My heart was full of Adam's memory. There was little space to fit anyone else in".
After Adam’s death, Claire has to readjust to life. School, her job at the library and then there is still an angry demon out there seeking revenge for her escape...When she thinks it can’t get any worse, unexpected help steps in and she finds herself yet in another dilemma. Can she open her heart for someone new?

With over twenty YA and adult fantasy and paranormal romance books under her belt, Angelina is far from done with inventing and exploring new worlds. I read book one and loved it, and could not turn down the chance to read book 2. I was given the opportunity to read it for free so jumped at the chance. I found Claire to be a little more likable this time around. A little more relatable. Although this is still very much a Young Adult book. This book does end a chapter or the series, there is obviously more to come. Please be aware of this. This is a series. NOT to be confused with a serial. The main story is more or less "tied" up. I did find Jaden to be rather peculiar and a little hard for me to understand his characters actions in some parts. I feel so sorry for Ben in some parts that MY heart hurt for him. Yet in other parts something inside me was screaming at Claire to get away. LOVE Chris, Jenna, and Liz. Even Lucas has a spot in my heart. Claire is definitely heading in the right direction. She was still a little "wimpy" for me. Not really "whiny" or anything, just a little too indecisive. Overall this book showed great strides in her personality. I enjoyed this one even more than the first. Cant wait to see what more is in the future for these characters!
I had shivers running up and down my spine while I read this book. The second part doesn't lose pace for a single page while delving ever deeper in this mysterious universe so close to ours. Laughing with the quirky humour of the characters, fearing the next act of the demons, admiring Claires determination to get on with her life no matter what is thrown at her and riding along with the emotional rollercoaster trip all the characters are faced with - all that kept me turning (virtual) pages until, alas, the last one arrived way too soon. I can't wait for the grand finale of the series, as this seems to be one of the rare cases where each sequel tops the previous story.
Wow! what can i say it left me wanting to read more. I like to write details about it here. i have so many questions, but i know i can't spoil it for everyone else. So i won't, but honestly if you haven't picked up the second part of the Wings Trilogy. what are you waiting for? Its an amazing read, you won't be disappointed. :) I want to know how it ends can't wait to read the 3rd book!
This book was even more captivating than the last. Twists and turns at every angle that kept me guessing until the end. I no longer know where my loyalties lie within these characters. I feel like a part of the story, like I am watching family through these pages. What an exciting and wonderful read. Cannot wait for the next installment of the Wings Trilogy. If you have not read it please start with White, the first of the wings trilogy.
Following the unexpected end of White, this book entangles you quickly in an easy-to-read plot that has you pinned to your spot and unable to drop it till the end. Definitely waiting for the next part!
The premise of Angels and demons, good vs evil, sounded intriguing, especially after reading the Shattered Kingdom series by the same author that was uh mazing.
This just...did not work.
*Spoilers*
This felt like a Twilight retelling, but instead of vampires and werewolves, we have angels and demons. I actually really enjoyed Twilight, so a retelling doesn't scare me, but the world building here just doesn't always make sense. There are inconsistencies that crop up that left me scratching my head. Claire (Bella) experiences instalove for Adam (Edward). But maybe a month later, he tragically dies in book one. Just...what? And Ben (Jacob), Adam's brother, is now into her and drawing creepy pictures of her, and she kinda wants to get with him, but the all-consuming instalove is still going strong and she doesn't know what to do. And then turns out Adam is resurrected as a demon, and now she is really confused. Also, her guardian angel seems to have a thing for her, because he loved Claire's grandma, and that is just confusing. This might finally be a case where we have a story that is not a better love story than Twilight.
The second installment of this trilogy was better written and the plot line was actually great. I could tell the author had really approved upon her craft. The characters were fully fleshed out and the love triangle is quite enjoyable. This series still reminds me of TVD with a human girl torn between 2 supernatural brothers while she is being hunted by ancient demons for her bloodline. If you love TVD then you will love this book. I’m looking forward to finishing this series. It will be interesting to see how it all ends.
Wow, this was full of unexpected surprises and I loved it!! I loved learning about Jaden, Ben, Jenna, and more because it totally added to the story and created this web of secrets and knowledge! The writing was so great, as well. Claire’s grief and depression over Adam was written so well and so realistic. I thought it was done so well. I’m excited to read the last book!! 🖤
Black really continued the story beautifully….the introduction to Liz and her knowledge of Angels & Demons was such a great addition to the story. Now I didn’t need the heartbreak of losing Lucas the way we did. I find myself torn wanting Claire to move on to Ben or even Jaden (if only Claire knew his feelings!?!) what a twist would that be. Excited to see what Gray brings!!

I am so happy that Adam is back, but disappointed by the fact that Claire has feelings for both Adam and his brother Ben.. If she is truly Adams soulmate then why? I am so hooked on this series that I can’t help but to keep reading even though I am really going to be heartbroken if after everything she ends up with Ben.. Please don’t do that, because I read enough books where a couple starts out together and are supposedly soulmates and then something happens and the girl ends up with someone else and she ends up hurting her supposedly soulmate.. And even though the books are good, it still leaves a bad view on soulmates and true love.. I’m just going to pray that you let Adams and Claire’s love win over everything else...
This story of love conquers all is amazing because you feel every emotion. You can feel the pain, the sacrifice, the love, and even the anger coming off the pages and wrapping around your soul. Another great story
This book is better then the first and I could not put it down. This story is inspirational and gives you hope while you are immersed in the characters emotions and situations. I am looking forward to the next book in this series.
Loved this sequel!!!I have always believed that true love shall prevail, can this possibly be true???? You will be surprised in the sequel! Can’t wait for the next!!!!!
I read the Wings Trilogy, from Claire's perspective and I was skeptical reading basically the same story but from Adam's perspective. Well was I in for a surprise! Even though all the events take place the same in both trilogies, they are totally different! Angelina is a master author, managing to make this trilogy exciting and just as page turning as the other! As much as I enjoyed the previous trilogy, this trilogy cemented my love for Adam. So many new facts come to light, I couldn't help but feel real sympathy for Adam's predicament. I found it very interesting and intriguing how he wrestles with himself as he finally remembers everything. From the time of his loss, to his role in his "new family", to his guilt when he realised who he was and who he has become, to the love and support from his real family and Claire, has truly been written masterfully! Wonderful series!
I found this book bit boring and drawn out. I just wanted to get to the part about Adam. Going through the day to day of Claire and just Claire not even her friendship with her friends. That is lost in this book. I didn’t start getting good for me til the end when Adam starts showing back up. Also confused as to why she’s having any confusion on her feelings between the brothers when she hasn’t spent that much time alone with Ben. And there’s not very many lovey moments with him so that made no sense. Also the killing of the bad guy she calls “now” way too quickly without any actual real conversation with him and then she’s taken to safety. We hear nothing of the battle we waited for in 2 books? The ending was more suspenseful and I hope the 3rd book is better
After finishing White last night, I quickly downloaded the other two books. I already finished Black and all I can say is WOW! This love triangle is a rough one, and I’m really looking forward to reading book 3 so I can see if my hunch about Claire (and who her grandfather might be) is correct. I’ll be starting book 3 before heading to bed and hopefully I get some sleep tonight!
I wanted to love this series... I REALLY DID. But I just kept having flashes of the Neverending Story where Atreyu struggles through the Swamp of Sadness to get to Morla... except I am struggling through the teen angst to get to the end of the book. I just wanted it to be over. The first book was a struggle, and I gave book 2 a chance with the hopes of things moving along more smoothly (as sometimes is the case with series novels) but to my dismay... it just was not so. The plot and characters have SO MUCH POTENTIAL, it truly is a shame hat the main character has NO GROWTH and has such a selfish personality. Everybody love her and she can't love herself, she's so wreckless and she doesn't consider others when purposely putting other in danger, oh her heart hurts so much, oh the barbed wire cutting into her heart, oh it hurts to love, oh she has hope but everything is so depressing, oh someone else loves her too but she doesn't want to plague anyone else with the curse that is her, oh woe to anyone who cares, wah wah wah wah wah... I tried to finish the trilogy... and as much as I'd love to know the ending of the story to know if the depressed, self-centered, angsty protagonist will ever find happiness (as unlikely as it seems)... well, I'd much rather re-read an 8 book series I know I love and finish in the same time it would take me to finish "Gray." Plus, I wont get a headache. Ugh.
Continuation of Claire & Adam’s treacherous love story.
I enjoyed the pacing and author’s decision to flesh out the supporting casts in book 2. Most of the questions were sufficiently revealed and answered in this volume, including what happened at the end of book 1. This made me more invested in the casts rather than just the 2 main characters.
Only weird point was Ben’s personality facade in book 1, it felt forced how he could suddenly change, and I was not entirely convinced by Claire and Ben’s relationship development. If we are going to have more tension, at least let Adam be aware! (Always welcome reverse harem.)
I totally forgot to mention Jaden previously, but his characterisation - the struggle to mimic humans despite his angelic being - and decisions definitely made the story shine. I felt bad he could not get more than what a supporting cast deserved, and I wished he could trigger more jealousy in Claire’s love interests.
Plot twist of the book - happy to say I did not see it coming and am satisfied with the explanation. Again well played on not overly tipping the scale in the good side’s favour so the constant sense of danger never falters. Onwards to the last book!
I feel like i just stepped off a rollercoaster of emotions
#1 i really can't stand teenage girls, its true they are selfish and inconsiderate....but when reading books...I want fiction, I want her to be a hero, be decisive, this girl is driving me crazy. Oh shes selfless when it comes to her sister....but she continues to mess with the future of her guardian angel, now she's messing with Ben...i love both brothers so i couldnt care less which one she picks...but for the sake of my sanity pick someone and oh stop getting yourself in trouble...your angels life depends on it you self lil twat! Sigh...rant over, while I don't like claire, i love the story, so it keeps me going.
I enjoyed this book more than the first one. There is less girly high school nonsense monologue, which is a huge plus from the first book! That really drove me insane in book one and had me skimming the pages to get through that nonsense but this book shows the growth of the author. That monologue is dropped significantly and more of the storyline is communicated. I like the twist involving Adam. I am on the fence about Claire’s involvement/interaction with Ben. I am definitely ready to read the final book for the conclusion.
OMG! Angelina keeps the streak going! This book deserves all 5 stars! This series is becoming my new favorite. This book was a great sequel to the series. Truly a talented writer! I was hooked and on the edge of my seat throughout the entire book. I wasn't sure how things would progress, but I was far from disappointed. This book will have you hooked for sure. I'm not going to lie, hours would pass while I was reading. I would start reading and before I knew it two hours would pass. I read this book in a day because again, I could not put it down! Again, I definitely recommend checking out this series. You will not be disappointed!
While in the first book a lot has happened, the second was more informative, and for that reason much slower. The character spends almost the entire book in eternal suffering. I understand the option of having a book that explains everything that is happening, but it was a very tiring reading.
