Nick Barrett is a god at my university. And me, little ol' April Hansen? I'm just a nerdy girl, studying and working to take care of my dad.
Nick could have any woman he wanted, but for some reason, he wants me...It's a miracle he even notices me waiting for the bus, let alone offer to drive me home.
Before I can help it, I'm falling for Nick. But there's a reason jocks and geeks don't mix, and I'm about to get my heart broken, I just know it.

This book was just OK. It was a little juvenile. I didn't feel the connection between the two. And who knew for a nerd you would think she would be a little more shy and virgin like. Not her case. And really they sleep together once and it's I love you to one another?.
This was not for me. I found it to very juvenile and superficial relationship. I felt like I was reading a high school writing assignment. I normally like new adult books with the struggles of being an adult and being responsible and dealing with new feelings and situations. I'm sorry to say I couldn't find enough likeable content to recommend this book.
This audiobook was given to me in exchange for an unbiased review. This is filled with the drama and emotional angst from social expectations and other love interests. This was a very sweet romance. Short and Sweet, the prefect combination.
I voluntarily read this ARC for review. This is the story of Nick and April. Nick is from a wealthy family, is popular, and the campus football god, while April is complex, self assured, but struggles to pay her tuition. These two have a great attraction, and bring out the best of each other. This is a well written and great storyline. I love all of Roxy’s work, and recommend for all.
Between the Tackles is a sweet, steamy NA college football story featuring Nick, a campus football god, and April, a fellow student. April and Nick are in opposite worlds at their university. She's a nerdy law student with one friend and he's a wealthy running back with lots of friends and a girlfriend. April works at the concession stand at their stadium and one night she's let off work late so she's late getting to the bus stop and misses her bus. It starts pouring rain as she's sitting there at the bus stop when a sleek sports car pulls up and its driver offers her a ride. The driver is Nick, and he's really happy to see her. He likes that he's different than the girls he normally hangs around, she's real and smart, not fake and phony.
Their relationship progresses nicely, with both sweet and steamy moments. They have obstacles to get past, though, including her best friend who turns out to be in love with her, and his father, who doesn't think April is good enough for Nick. What I like most about Between the Tackles is that Nick isn't the typical a$$hole jock with a bad attitude and a 100 women lined up to jump in bed with him. He's sweet and smart and really good to April. April is not only smart, but has self confidence and self assurance and doesn't see Nick as a way to gain status or wealth.
April and Nick meet by chance and start seeing each but obstacles keep getting thrown at them along their way. The humour the characters have is brilliant and they are a great match, April is more mature due to the struggles she has to keep her able to succeed in becoming a lawyer where as Nick is from a wealthy family and hasn't had to struggle but wants to achieve his goal of becoming a professional football player as well as a business man later on. Between the Tackles is definitely a great read and Roxy Sinclaire never fails to deliver a brilliant story. I received this for my honest and unbiased review.
This is the third book in the Pass to Win Series. It is a stand-alone deries that could be read in any order. April is an ambitious law student with a crappy job and even worse boss. She has very little time to breathe let alone date, but when she gets the attention of the football team's IT boy, everything changes. Nick has it all, rich, hot, an amazing football player and a girlfriend he's grown sick of. Everything changes when he meets April. She makes him work and life does what it does best, create disasters. Can these two different people make it work or will life get in the way? This was a cute, quick read. If you're into college romance, this is for you!
Such a sweet story! As always this series is amazing! Roxy has done an amazing job! One nerdy girl and one hot jock can get it all started on a dreary night. You won't want to put down this book. It's a quick read and so very worth it!
A fast moving love that melts your heart. These two are so cute together and have the luck to meet in unexpected ways. From there, it just bursts with love and a few twists along the way, but that ending! It was just perfect!
I was blessed enough to be given a free Audible.com code for the book by the voice narrator Holly Elise in exchange for my honest review of the book which is as follows:
I want to start this review off by saying that I haven’t read the first two books in the series; I was told by the voice narrator that the book is a stand alone. I really started to like the characters around chapter 3, I feel like if you can get over the fact that “Nick”(the main love interest) is/will say occasionally (in my personal opinion) “dumb guy stuff” you’ll be able to enjoy the book a lot more because he seems to have complexity underneath.
I really appreciated “April’s” commitment to her principles, I personally really related to it.
Alot of stuff that happens towards the end of the book really bothered me I can’t say anything about why without giving away plot points especially since it happens to be so close to the end of book.
The (respective scenes) with April and her dad and Nick and his dad is a big part of why (as well as the epilogue) I’m rating this book a 6 out 10.

April is working the popcorn/refreshments stand at a Michigan State game. She's not happy about working and not being able to watch the game, but she needs this job. If April is not studying, she's working. No time for fun, no time for friends and no time for dating......until she misses the bus. Nick is the star running back for Michigan State. He's handsome, rich and he happens to see April sitting at the bus stop in the rain. He offers her a ride home. He's had his eye on her for a while and he's noticed she's not like the other girls at school....fake, phony. April is a little nerdy and a natural beauty. April's not impressed by Nick's money or his fancy car. Normally everyone's impressed. Well, no matter, Nick already has a girlfriend, even though that hasn't been going so well lately. Nick's girlfriend Jennifer is extremely jealous and materialistic. Nick feels it is time for a change...like breaking up with Jennifer. Soon Nick makes a play for April and the two get hot and heavy very quickly. April knows Nick is in high demand on and off the field, but they share a strong connection and some serious chemistry; add in school, football, Nick' s ex and April's best friend and you have an interesting and intriguing story. THIS BOOK WAS FILLED WITH TWISTS AND TURNS AND LOTS OF HOT, STEAMY SEX ! ! ! GREAT READ !
I wanted to like this book, based on the synopsis, but it fell short of my expectations. It had a very juvenile feel to it, not at all like college seniors. Also contained very unrealistic scenes, such as the NY Giants calling Nick while he is still playing his senior year of college football to come to NY and try out for the team. Evidently the author knows nothing of the annual College Combine and how the NFL draft works. In another scene, April is set to take her final exams in her final year of Law School, when she takes a break from studying and travels to NY to straighten things out with Nick. While there, she and Nick were sightseeing when they passed the Law Offices of a prestigious firm that she had been following for sometime and low and behold, they had a sign up that they were interviewing for an Internship. April goes and buys a business outfit and goes to a cafe to print out her resume and references off of her phone. She then walks right into the Law Firm and gets interviewed by one of the lawyers right away. My son is currently a second year Law School student and I wish it was this simple. Along with a resume and references, he has to submit a writing sample and his transcripts via email and then wait to get his interview set up and then another wait while they make their decision. Whoever Ms Sinclaire's beta readers are, they let her down big time with these glaring mistakes along with many typos and things out of order.
I enjoyed this story. It was a fairly entertaining, quick read. Nick and April were good characters. Nick gives April a ride home on a rainy night and the conversation they have sets everything in motion. Nick can't believe what a great conversation they had and how quick and well they were able to connect. He is not used to being able to talk like this and connect on this level with girls, at least not the ones that he interacts with. He quickly starts falling for April and he pursues her. April is very open to Nick. The sex is explicit. There is more that goes on in the story as the two deal with school and figuring out their futures. Things came together pretty easy for them. There's not a whole bunch of discord/doesn't last for long. While I enjoyed the book there was a feeling of redundancy sometimes...felt like I was reading the same information twice. It wasn't too bad but it did happen. The story also felt a little predictable. It didn't delve as deep as I would have liked into the characters. I felt like it was missing something and so it made it a little harder to connect and just lose myself in the story. While it had these things going on I still enjoyed the story. The characters were still good and I had no issue reading and finishing it. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
April knew who Nick Barrett was, on campus there wasn't anyone who didn't with him being the star running back of the team. But what she never figured is a girl like her would ever have a chance with the star running back. But a chance encounter in the rain has her in his car and actually talking to him. Nick is used to the attention, but April gets him in a way no one has and he finds himself wanting to be around her outside of sleeping with her. Finding time between his football schedule and her law school schedule can be hard they want to see where this relationship leads them. At the ultimate high for Nick things come crashing down when his dad kicks him out for being with April and after getting the NFL deal of his dreams a picture posted of him has April turning to her best friend, Mark, and making her own mistake. Threw it all Nick and April fight to make it out on the other side together and stronger. A great read from Roxie Sinclaire. I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Between the Tackles is an entertaining fast read with lots of twists, turns and drama (Queen). Nick, the star running back at college who is rich, popular with the ladies, all around nice guy who is looking to make it big in the pros. One rainy night he stops to give a girl from school a lift and that he has noticed but has not made a move on. Her name….is April who works constantly or has her face in a law book, considers herself a nerdy geek and who wants to become a Hot Shot Lawyer someday and thinks there is “no way” Nick would look twice at her.
These two are total opposites but the attraction is strong and they find they have lots of things in common and start out on a journey that is tender, intimate and sexy with lots of outside influence to make their relationship very rocky.
Will they just be friends and stay in their own circles or will they find that opposites do attract and will overcome obstacles in order for them to start a life together????
Stand alone book but is part of a the Pass to Win series...
Roxy Sinclaire brings us another good bad boy romance. I love these new adult stories, this one with April and Nick. April, a geeky law student and Nick, an all-star football player are the couple you would think would never work. I loved this story because it showed a couple of major character builders. First, Nick, who is a privileged young man, is someone who stands up for what he believes and sees past the "classes" of people. He looks at April and knows that she is a smart, beautiful woman despite the fact that she does not come from money. Secondly, we see April with Nick, seeing past the "jock, playboy" image that the football players have and relates to the smart man with substance. This romance with it's ups and downs, gives you the emotions and feels of relationships and how to overcome obstacles.
Holly Elise gives a great performance. She portrays the characters with feeling and you want to keep listening.

Charming romance between April & Nick. Nick is the star running back, rich, popular with the ladies and has his eyes set on going pro. April considers herself nerdy, always has her nose in a law book and has dreams of being a hot shot lawyer in New York City. She has crushed on Nick from afar for some time but never expected to catch his attention because they were from two different worlds and financial class. But one rainy day at a bus stop, Nick does a nice deed and offers to drive her home. From that point onward, we have a charming tale of two different people finding common ground between them and even experiencing a new excitement in life, encouragement, inspiration and hope in a brighter future. The budding relationship is tested with ex girlfriends, pranks, bad reputation and interfering friends. Overall, it is a beautiful, sweet and loving story. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. Thoroughly enjoyed this story. Five Stars.
April is studying law at Michigan State on scholarships. April is smart, driven, quick witted, complex, self assured and unafraid to speak her mind but struggles to pay her tuition. Nick is the star running back for the football team and comes from a wealthy family. Nick is a great football player, easy to talk to, Nick is also a gentleman, doesn't have a spoiled rich attitude because his family has money. After working at the game one night she missed the bus and it was raining and Nick pulls up and offers her a ride home. During the trip they realize that although they are opposites they have a lot in common as both have lost their mothers and their love of sports. From there things heat up and your not going to be able to put the book down until the end. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book Dream, dream, dream. That's all I can do when I think of star Running Back Nick Barrett. He is every girls dream star play, but to get to meet him is a dream come true. Student April Hansen studies hard for her exams, as she wants to be a lawyer, never really gets to date or have a social life. Her part time job is horrendous at times and she just needs a break. That break comes when she gets a lift on a rainy night from Nick. Never in a million years do they realise how their lives will change. Dealing with everyday stresses, work, crazy ex girlfriends, wannabe boyfriends, family issues and so much more. Loved their relationship together , how it built up to something special. Loved it.
Geeky girl trying to get through Law school, working jobs when everyone else parties, is sitting stranded in the rain, after missing the last bus, when the star football player for the school offers her a lift. His and her lives were just about to change!! Yes, as any true love story, they have their ups and downs, but this story has a number of HEA events. Although I loved the story, I found the continually repeated ideas a bit annoying. At first I thought that it may have been pointed at a YA audience, but the sexual encounters were not what I would expect in that genre. This is why I have removed the star. A little more experience and this writer's work will be very interesting. I have voluntarily submitted this review from an advanced copy of this book.
This is a wonderful, entertaining book to read and I absolutely enjoyed reading it. What you will find in this book is: a hard working female law student and geek (April), a rich college football player (Nick), a materialistic ex-girlfriend (Jennifer), drama, twists and turns, judgemental family, a interfering father, misunderstandings, an apology, some father-son bonding, lust, emotional feelings, love and erotic scenes. The story-line and plot is well thought out and written, The two main characters are extremely likeable and the love scenes are intimate and tender while still being hot. I would recommend this book to people who like to read an entertaining Bad Boy Sport Romance with a HEA.
Nick has it all. The looks, fame, money, a hot girlfriend, stellar career goimg for him in college football. His relationship has been on the rocks with his girl for a while now. So when he sees a cute nerdy girl, whose mind not to mention body blows him away. He calls it quits with his girlfriend. To pursue her. Now if he can get the cute nerdy girl to notice him. Amy may not have it all. She thinks she is just a average girl in college. Yeah she may have her head into her books most of the time. But to become a top lawyer someday, you have to hit the books hard. That is til the hottest guy on campus starts talking to her. She has to be dreaming.... or is he playing a trick on her?
4* April met nick the night he scored a touchdown, her boss was been mean & made her work then didn't pay her. She was forced to try & get the bus she got caught in the rain she missed it. Nick spotted her & gave her a lift home. He was impressed she's naturally pretty & know's sport! He's not used to that his girlfriend is pretty shallow & he regrets having one. They come from different backgrounds & both have dreams can they get it right will it work out. This is a standalone story & has a true ending. I voluntarily received an advanced reader copy of this book . I would recommend you download it now. Great story.
