Do you struggle to get out of bed and get going? Do you wish you were excited to get out of bed in the morning? What if you could miraculously wake up tomorrow and every area of your life was transformed? How would life be different? Would you be happier? Healthier? More successful? Which of your problems would be solved?
What if I told you there is a simple secret that is guaranteed to transform literally every area of your life faster than you ever believed? What if I told you it would take only nine minutes a day?
Enter The Morning Routine Blueprint. What's now being practiced by thousands of people around the world could perhaps be the simplest approach to creating the life you've always wanted.
In 2012, I didn't even know what a morning routine was. I'd drink coffee as soon as I got out of bed and check email early in the morning, and I didn't think twice about it.
Then I realized something.
A big reason most people aren't successful is they fail to follow a daily routine. Instead they start each day hoping they will have enough time to make progress on their goals. I used to be a perfect example.
But after years of experimenting, I realized what a difference having a morning routine makes. See, if you closely examined the world's most successful people, you'd see they start each day in an energized state, ready to accomplish any goal. What's their secret?
Like brushing your teeth, once you get in the habit of doing something, it no longer becomes a task; it's just something you do. Successful people are able to focus on their tasks because they already have built habits into their mornings. And I want to help you do the same.
The key message from this book is don't drink booze. Really. If you want a good morning routine, just don't drink booze. It is an experiential book, but there is some value in creating a micro-pattern of work in the morning. Fine. Not brilliant. But fine.
It promises a secret that will transform your life and only take 6 minutes a day ... then goes on to describe in great detail three different routines that have been effective for the author at various stages of his life. They vary between 1.5 and 6 hours (yes that's right, wake up at 7am, get to the office at 1pm) so obviously are not going to be useful for most people.
There are no strategies here, no secrets, certainly nothing that will 'only take 6 minutes a day'. There is a lot of hype and self promotion.
I thoroughly recommend instead "Mini Habits Smaller Habits, Bigger Results" by Stephen Guise. It gives tips and tools that really work so you can make and stick to a routine that fits into any schedule.
Easy to read book and gave a couple pointers I thought was useful but other than that, not much to note. Half the book was about setting up nightly routines too. I didn't really like how he was advertising himself for the other things he did though (blogs, books, websites etc.). Didn't think it was necessary for the content of the book.
I understand this is a self-published book, so I had to temper my expectations. If you can look past the spelling and grammar mistakes, there is some decent advice in here. It's more of a step-through how and why the author created his morning routine rather than a "blueprint" as suggested by the title.
Despite rampant errors & the glorification of workaholism, there really were some good ideas here & practices I'd like to try regarding morning & night routines.
I'm still baffled by the author's claims of a secret that is guaranteed to change any and every area of your life in 9 min a day (or 6 min depending on whether you're reading the blurb or introduction). Wait, what? Each of the 3 routines described literally takes hours. Perhaps he's referring to a single step in the routines, but then why have the whole routine? Not buying it.
The Kindle Unlimited selection is definitely hit or miss. If you're willing to dig through the swath of partially edited, self-published content, you can find some good ideas. On to the next!
First, the downside. Only about half this book is about morning routines. The other half covers everything from giving up alcohol and generating 10 random ideas a day to the expected (but still annoying) repeated attempts to harvest your email address for future newsletter, etc. marketing...
The upside? Much of the morning routine advice is actually useful. And the book in general is well written and interesting. Overall, this is worth the reading time.
I enjoyed this author's explanation of coming up with 10 ideas each morning. I am already a "journaler", so implementing this was easy. Organization is a skill I possess, but thinking idealistically has been a challenge for me. Coming up with 10 ideas each morning has helped me focus on the task at hand.
A very easy read that really breaks no new ground. Might be a generational disconnect for me. I think people with a strong sense of the Universal and spiritual maturity will be disappointed.
I don't really ever write reviews but I got the audio version and it really felt like hearing my friends daily routine for two hours which wasn't all that fun. If you really want to just copy someone else's routine or need ideas then maybe this book will be useful for you.
It is a personal blog or pages from authors personal journal which talks about authors trial and error attempt on following framework that was laid out by the book
'Miracle Morning'... Don't waste your time on reading this, instead read the book from where the work is copied here.
