Callie Stevens has written a 5-star book. This is the story of June and Jarred. June has just been fired from her job as a nanny for something she didn't do. She can't go home since she has rented her house out for the next two weeks. She goes to see her friend Keifer and tells him about her job. He offers her his family cabin and after a few minutes, she accepts his offer. He offers her a car to drive up to the cabin and she accepts this as well. She gets to the cabin and is glad for the help. She fixed herself something to eat and is watching TV when she sees headlights through the window. She thinks that it might be Keifer coming to spend the weekend with her. It is not Keifer but his brother Jarred and niece Piper. Jarred had been told by his father that he needed some time off and the cabin was a good place for him and his daughter to spend some one-on-one time together. After June gets Piper in and Jarred gets their bags inside, they each want to know what the other is doing there. She tells him that she would leave the next morning so that he could have the cabin to himself with Piper. He tells her that she might not be able to do that since a snowstorm was coming in. As they look out the window, the snow is coming down already. The next morning, June could not leave since they were snowed in. She comes up with things for 3-year-old Piper to do to keep her busy. Jarred starts to see June in a different way and wants her but after what his ex-wife did to him, he doesn't trust anyone to no leave him so he doesn't get involved with anyone. The more time he spends time with June, he finds it hard to stop thinking about her. Things happen between them and they end up sleeping together. The morning after, he tells her that it can't happen again when they get back home, but they could continue while they were there. They are at the cabin for over a week and they sleep together each night. Jarred is finally able to leave and after he gets back home, he can't stop thinking about June. June is his brother's best friend and is at the family dinner every Sunday. On one Sunday, June does something to entertain Piper and Jarred said some mean things about her. This hurts June and she leaves. Everyone is mad at Jarred for hurting June since she has been part of the family for years. His brother Oliver goes looking for Jarred and has a few words with him about how he treated June. Keifer comes in and said "I hope you're happy. Oliver said that he was going to apologize to June. Keifer said that he couldn't since she left. Jarred goes outside and saw that she did leave. She doesn't go back to the family dinners even with Keifer asking her to come. It has been a month and a half and Keifer goes to see June. When he gets there, he decides that she needs to get out of the house. They go for a walk and on the walk, she passed out. Keifer takes her to the hospital and this is when they find out she is pregnant. She has to tell him about her time with Jarred. Keifer gets mad about her keeping this from him. He asked what she was going to do about the baby. She tells him that she is going to keep it and not tell Jarred about the baby. Keifer tells her that he would claim the baby since it was part Harthorn. She tells him that she would agree to that. Keifer sees Jarred and they have words. Jarred tells him how he feels about June and Keifer agrees to help him get June back.
Will Jarred's plan work on getting June back?
This was a wonderful book and I would recommend it to anyone.

Friendships and More . . .

Juniper Reed (“June”) has lost her nanny job and has nowhere to go right now since she had rented out her home. Fortunately her friend Keifer Hawthorn offered her his cabin for the short term. When she heard a car drive up, she was surprised it was Keifer’s brother, Jarred, and his young daughter. His dad had suggested the cabin, not knowing anyone was using it. And now a storm is coming, so it’s not safe for June to leave. But being a nanny, June knows exactly how to keep Piper distracted from the snow and entertained in the cabin. She even “entertains” Jarred in his bed while they are stuck at the cabin, with the promise this will end when they return home.

June has always joined the family dinner as Keifer’s best friend. But when she and the family started playing a game with Piper, Jarred snarled about June sticking her nose where it doesn’t belong and June left the gathering before the tears came. When she doesn’t come back, Keifer goes to see his friend. She passes out and Keifer calls an ambulance. And at the hospital, they find out she is pregnant. She tells Keifer the truth of what happened at the cabin. Will she keep the baby? Or will Keifer find a way to resolve the situation?

Juniper has know the Hawthorne family pretty much all of her life. She is best friends with the youngest of three sons and they have grown up together. Everyone always assumed that they would end up being a couple. But their friendship is solid as it is. When June finds herself thrown out of her live in nanny job she turns to her best friend for help. He offers her the family cabin as a get away until she can get back into her house that is being leased out.

Jarred has been trying to raise is young daughter ever since his wife decided that she couldn't hack motherhood or him for that matter and left. His daughter, Piper, is struggling without a female figure in their home and as much as he tries to fill the gap, it is difficult. So he takes his fathers advice and plans to disappear for two weeks to the family cabin to spend quality time with his daughter. He arrives at the cabin to find his youngest brothers best friend already there, but with the winter storm about the bear down on them neither can leave right away, so they opt to make the best of it.

The more time they spend with each other, the more they see in each other. But their attraction should be off limits as they are like brother and sister having grown up together. But Jarred can't seem to not notice how well June interacts with his daughter and Piper has taken to her with a strong attachment. When they give in to their chemistry attraction for each other they make a pact that when they leave the cabin all of their feelings stay behind.

Can they manage to hold to that pact and leave behind their feelings for each other? Can they keep their time together a secret from the rest of the family? Can Jarred manage his daughters fierce connection to June without it being a problem for him? Once June finds out that she is pregnant, can she really go it alone and not tell Jarred? Will she risk being hurt again to try to find happiness and a family?

You will have to read the book to find out. I thoroughly enjoyed it and definitely would recommend it as a to be read. I loved the first in the series about the father of the family, now I patiently wait for stories on the other two brothers.

June and Jarrod

He is a single dad and she is his brother’s best friend and a nanny. They get stranded all together at the family cabin/mansion -and sparks begin to ignite. They are weird about not telling the brother - though Jarrod doesn’t initially go all in so guess that was the hold up - Jarrod says some mean things about June in front of the whole family and then June finds out she is pregnant but she won’t tell Jarrod because of how mean he was but she does tell the brother Keifer. Jarrod meanwhile realizes he loves June and wants her so he goes and confesses to Keifer. Keifer is pissed at J and punches him where J completely loses it crying that he loves her and wants her to be Pipers mom. Keifer then conspires with J to win her back. She is scared he’ll hurt her again so they go slow.

Hea they move in together, baby boy and next book the wedding … and another baby girl in another book

I love The Hawthorn Series by Callie Stevens. This is the second book to be released and I enjoyed Baby For The Off Limits Single Daddy more than the previous book. They were both well written, but I have a soft spot for Jerred, Piper and June. The thing I love about series like this is how they are all connected together and I continue to get glimpses of all the characters I have grown attached to.

Jerred is a single dad who tries to do his best for his daughter Piper. He has trust issues because of his ex-wife and he has absolutely no desire for a woman in his life. He does however long for Piper to have a mother/daughter relationship because he can tell this is something his little girl longs for. Piper has been acting out lately and needs some alone time with her Daddy. June is in between jobs and has nowhere to go. Thank goodness her best friend Keifer comes through and lets her stay at his families cabin for a couple of weeks. This is where everything changes for Jerred and June. Piper finally gets that female bonding time she needs and becomes really attached to June. The more time the three of them spend together thanks to the snow storm it begins to feel like they are an actual family. Now that the storm has past it is time to return to the real world and their time together comes to an end. The fear of how the family and Keirfer will react to them being a couple puts an end to a possible future together. Once they return to the real world things get messy and all hope seems to be lost. With a baby on the way these two need to come clean with the family and figure out if a happily ever after is in their future. I am excited for the third book to be released and watching another Hawthorn man fall for that special lady who changes his life forever.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. This is book 2 of The Hawthorn Series but it's a standalone so you don't need to read the first one before reading this. The synopsis tells you what to expect. It's a good best friend's brother dual pov romance.

After being fired from her live with the family nanny job, June has nowhere to go to but her best friend Keifer. He suggests that she stays at his family cabin. Unknown to both, Jarred's father suggests that Jarred stay at that very cabin with Piper, his daughter who has been having a difficult time at preschool. June is surprised by their visit & wants to leave but Jarred knows she needs the place to live & a storm also stops either of them from leaving. Their interactions have always been polite yet distant, since she's always been a part of their family as his brother's best friend. But, as June showers Piper with attention, Jarred finds it difficult not to be captivated by her. June & him decide to give in to their attraction for the time being that they will spend at the cabin. However, once they leave, it's not as easy for them to forget each other & go back to how they were before - especially for June once she finds out that she's pregnant. Because the synopsis may make others think otherwise, June doesn't find out until the near end of the story.

Because of her own family situation & lack of loved ones ,aside from the Hawthorns, June is in want of the comfort of others. She's not actively seeking it nor is she demanding things of others. It's actually the opposite.June has a caring & loving heart. She doesn't hesitate or have to force herself to spend time with Piper. She genuinely loves their time together, as well as getting to break the barrier between her & Jarred. Once they leave the cabin & she thinks her presence will make Jarred uncomfortable, she stops attending the Hawthorns' family dinners that she's been a part of for years. She's a pretty selfless person. The most selfish thing that she has done (according to her own views) is giving in to her feelings for Jarred.

Though Jarred has been doing well enough on his own, he wonders about finding someone to love who would also become a mother to Piper. However, his relationship with his ex wife & her lack of care towards being a mother made his reservations too big. Yet, that slowly fades away as he spends more time June. He's unable to keep that polite distance from her that he always had done before. He can picture being a family with June, though the fact that she's like family & Keifer's best friend stops him & her from thinking they can make it a reality. Jarred doesn't handle their reunion after they spent time together in the cabin... in the best way. He is sorry though so you can't stay upset with him.

Aside from their relationship to Keifer & their own individual fears, there is no other conflict between them. The conflict does feel like it's resolved somewhat quickly but I don't mind. Since they made an appearance, I would've liked to see more about June's relationship with her family , like whether they became closer or she came to terms with how they are. Also, I was kind of hoping that there would be some follow up to her ex employers. It would've been nice to see Jarred make them pay for unjustly firing June. Overall, it's a good story - especially for fans of the best friend's brother trope.

For the Love of a Child

Juniper—June—Reed has been best friends with Keifer Hawthorne since the two were in kindergarten. And as an only child, June loved being included in the antics of the Hawthorne brothers—eldest brother Jarred, middle brother Oliver, and youngest brother, Keifer. Now as an adult, June is even more appreciative for inclusion in the Hawthorne family. Her retired parents have departed the cold Chicago winters to relocate in the warm sunshine of Florida, despite leaving their only child alone.

But June is not without connections. Of course, she has her bf Keifer and the rest of the Hawthorne family. And, she does have her job as a live-in nanny—or she did until she was fired--unexpectedly ripped away from her charges because of their parents’ issues—issues that impact her both emotionally and financially—June is hurt and alone. She needs help.

Hurting from the abrupt end to her nanny gig and with no place to live since the house that she shared with her parents when they still resided in Chicago has been rented and won’t be available to her for another month, June turns to Keifer for emotional support and logistical help. And as always, he comes through for her. He suggests that she stay for a few weeks at his family’s cabin in upper Michigan until she can move home.

But, what Keifer doesn’t know is that the family place, Hawthorne Haven, is the place that his oldest brother Jarred is using to escape his own troubles. His sweet 4-year-old daughter, Piper, is suffering from herself. She feels the hurt of her mom Meredith’s rejection. Meredith’s pregnancy with Piper was the catalyst needed to snag Jarred, the rich son of a richer father. Now, that she has access to the Hawthorne wealth, she no longer wants to be stuck with a husband and baby. And, with her alimony from the divorce, Piper is a pawn for her mom to use to gain more money. So, wanting to comfort his sweet girl and give her some “dad time,” the father and daughter are also heading to the family cabin.

Author Callie Stevens sets up the perfect match-making moment—a winter storm in the woods, a father with a daughter who needs a mom and a loving woman who needs to be love and be loved. I enjoyed the concept of the storyline, but I would have appreciated a more careful editing process to clean up grammar issues. FORMAT: Audiobook

3.5 stars - Excellent Narrating Team!

NARRATOR(s): Melissa Connell and Scott R. Smith. Both narrators are professional and have pleasing voices, not whiny nor over-acting. They also do voices for different characters and ages. Would definitely listen to other works by these voice actors.

POV: dual
HUMOR: a little
F BOMBS: yes
CLIFFHANGER: no
NEW AUTHOR FOR ME: yes
POSSIBLE TRIGGERS: forced proximity, daddy & breeding kink (mentioned only, no action),

CHARACTERS: Juniper "June" (early 20s, former nanny), Jarred (late 20s though speaks like he's older, single-parent, finances/numbers guy), Piper (3, Jarred's daughter), Keifer (early 20s, June's best friend, Jarred's youngest brother)

OVERALL: low angst, good family-relationships/dynamics, sweet HEA, series continues

PROS:
1. Excellent Narrating Team
2. Sweet main characters (at least until they part ways and Jarred turns into a big jerk), and Keifer is the best friend everyone should have
3. Epilogue ending has two sweet treats (one expected, the other not)

CONS:
1. MCs had little chemistry - based more on physical then emotional
2. Two main issues kept them apart: (1) June was like family as Keifer's Bff, so it's forbidden, and (2) Jarred was burned before. Focus was more on #1 so it seemed kind of a weak reason.
3. It's a little strange that Piper, 3 years old, had such excellent vocabulary, grammar, and mature speech.
4. Resolution/apology was kind of just a brush off/anticlimactic.

NOTEWORTHY:
1. Book 2 of The Hawthorns series (I haven't read book 1 yet to see if it truly can be read as a standalone - the answer: yes, it can, although I'd recommend reading in order for a more complete picture/world-building)
2. Interlaced in this book, Ash & Rye (Book 1) continue their lives and events
3. If you like main male characters that aren't afraid to cry (more than once), this book's for you

This second installment of this series can be read as a standalone that is interconnected with the first book. With this story we get to see Jarrod (Ash from book one’s son) and June (the best friend of Jarrod’s younger brother).

I listened to the audiobook of this story and the narrators did a great job at bringing this story to life. They also did a great job of voicing the other characters in the story as well.

My heart went out June, not just for finding herself in the situation she was at the beginning, but because she felt like everyone she loves leaves her. With a heart of gold and a love for children, she makes a perfect nanny. I love the relationship and bond that she creates with Jarrod’s daughter. I love that her friendship with Keifer wasn’t completely destroyed when the truth came out either.

I loved watching Jarrod with his daughter, Piper. When he was with June during their two weeks together, I liked their chemistry and how he made June feel like she was worth something (when they finally stopped fighting their feelings). I felt like he was a bit too childish after their time together when he said all those hurtful things about June and then refused to apologize. Once he got over himself, I was happy to see him work so hard to get her back.

Piper completely stole the show for me whenever she was featured. I loved how caring, sweet and funny she was. I’m excited to see more of the Hawthorne men and other books that Callie Stevens brings us.

June loses her Nanny job and is devastated, she has nowhere to live as her house still has tenants and her best friend Keifer offers his place for her to stay, but she turns down that offer and accepts his very generous offer to use the family cabin for a couple of weeks. After arriving at the remote cabin and settling in, it starts to snow quite heavily and then shockingly Keifer’s eldest brother Jarred arrives with his 3 year old daughter Piper. Jarred had no idea that June was going to be at the cabin either, and she offered to leave, but by that time the snow had fallen so heavily that no one was going to be able to leave for quite some time.
June has always loved Piper, but during the days here at the cabin, they develop a beautiful relationship and Jarred is having trouble keeping his thoughts of June on a family friendly basis, he is so sexually attracted to her and the sparks between them are off the charts.
The witty conversations, the playful teasing, the hot and steamy sex they both agreed, what happened at the cabin stays at the cabin! But is this really what they both want?
Such a great read, I absolutely could not put it down, I loved the relationship between June and Piper and the way the author has brought all the characters to life with realistic dialogue, interactions and sometimes quite hilarious family arguments.
Highly recommend!!

Enjoyed June and Jarred's off limits romance.June and Kieffer have been best friends forever and she has been an honorary member of their family since thrn.
When she loses her job and doesn't have anywhere to go she turns to Kieffer for help.
He offers her their cabin which nobody is using at the moment.
Jarred is a single dad and is worried about his little daughter Piper,so at his father's suggestion ends up going to the cabin too with his daughter.
He is surprised to find June there and she ends up helping him with Piper. They are only there for a few days until they end up stranded in a snowstorm.
The more time they spend together the more intense the chemistry gets between them. They finally give into it and end up sleeping together.
June is amazing with Piper ,but she is off limits as she is practically family and his younger brother's best friend. His brother will kill him if he finds out.
They decide to keep their affair a secret from everyone which proves more difficult then they thought.
What will happen when their secret comes out and what about the secret June is keeping from Jarred.
Very enjoyable off limits romance, with lots of family banter and fights, lots of steam, tears, emotions and a happily ever after
Want to read more of the Hawthorns and Callie's books.Cannot wait for Kieffer's story.

Juniper (June) is best friends with Keifer Hawthorn. When she loses her job as a nanny, she needs to get away and Keifer suggests she go to his family cabin for a few weeks until her house is available. Jared is the older brother of Keifer and a single dad to a cute little girl named Piper. Piper is having some issues at school and acting out, so Ash Hawthorn suggests that Jared take Piper to the family cabin for a long weekend to spend some time with her. Showing up at the cabin after June, Jared is surprised, but willing to share the cabin. Getting snowed in, both realize that there are some sparks, but both are thinking the whole best friend / brother thing will ruin everything. Deciding to keep this to the cabin only and go back to normal when they return to the city, they enjoy themselves and let loose.

Going back to the city, Jared starts distancing himself from June the day he leaves and is cold. At family dinner, he loses it at June and the family is wondering what is up. When June finds out she is pregnant, she decides to keep it from Jared, and Keifer will step up and be the baby’s father – even though he doesn’t know who it is! June avoids the family for months and both she and Jared are miserable. When Jared realizes what he wants, will it be too late? How will Keifer and his family act once they find out that Jared and June have hooked up?

Another fun story for the Hawthorns! I was a little surprised this wasn't going to be June and Keifer, but I'm glad Jerrad made the cut because we get to have a fun story with young Piper in it!
June and Jerrad were fun together! After some misunderstanding about who is staying where, a snow storm keeps the two (plus Piper!) together. I really liked their chemistry, and how there wasn't awkwardness with June and Piper. Plus, Piper was able to be included enough (not just talked about in an abstract sense), and wasn't a 40 year old in disguise. She got to be a kid having a fun time and wanting a maternal figure in her life. Jerrad was a bit more self contained. He did everything for Piper, so he has to learn to open his (and Piper's) world to having June in it in more than a brother's best friend capacity.

Overall, it's a fun read/listen. There are visits from characters in the previous book, and some hints at who will be in future books in the series.
Sometimes the antics of the June and Jerrad seemed a bit out of character for people in their mid/late twenties, but alls well that ends well, so I just rolled with it.

This story has some swearing and steamy scenes. It's told in dual POV, with June and Jerrad getting their innermost off limits thoughts being shared with the reader/listener.

I really liked the narrators! They each do a great job voices the characters and bringing them to life, making them seem real and relatable. I listened at 1.15x speed.

This was Best Friends Brother, single dad, Close Proximity and surprise baby Trope.

Juniper has just lost her job and everything is falling apart. Her best Friend Keifer sends her to his family's holiday house for couple of weeks for her to sort herself out.

Jarred is the eldest brother and is a single dad to adorable little Piper.
He is struggling with work and home, so his dad suggests he takes Piper and goes for a break at their Family Holiday house.

So when they both bump into each other at the house it was a surprise. One of them will leave next day but the weather has other ideas and they get locked in together.

I really loved all the characters in this book. You can sense the closeness and love for each other through the writing.

I really like how both the MC grew throughout the story. How their feelings and attraction grew slowly.

They decided eventually to explore this attraction but only while they are in the holiday home. Outside of it life will go back to normal. They can't do anything because of Keifer.
But they really struggle and Jarred hurts June really badly.

Can Jarred trust another woman? Can he trust June to love his daughter like him?
Can June trust him not to hurt her again?
How will they face Keiffer?

It was a great book, with emotions, fun loving family moments, heartbreak, lots of love, some drama and spicy scenes.

This book is part of the Hawthorns series. It can be read as a standalone, but I recommend reading Ash's story because it is amazing.

When June loses her job as a live in nanny, she has no where to go. She has rented out her house and doesn't have the funds to rent an apartment. Her best friend, Keifer, suggests she stay at his family's cabin for a few weeks. Looking forward to some relaxation, she happily accepts.

Single dad Jarred, Keifer's brother, needs a vacation. His young daughter Piper is having a difficult time lately and his dad Ash thinks a change of scenery may do them some good, so suggests he spend some time at the family's cabin.

June is practically part of the family, so she is totally off limits. If only Jarred wasn't so attracted to her.. June's known Jarred her whole life. If only she wasn't so attracted to him...

After a snowstorm, they give in to their feelings - just while they're at the cabin. Upon returning home, Jarred has a hard time pretending nothing happened and ends up being a bit short with June, which strains his relationship with his brothers as well. When June finds out she's expecting, she is stunned and unsure what to do. Will she include Jarred in her future plans?.

The story was well-written and there were no mistakes. It was the perfect length and flowed freely without any hiccups. I loved the characters and their hesitancy between them. I also loved the many pages of conversation and them getting to know each other, realizes they were exactly what the other was looking for. There were a couple of things that confused me, like how was Jarred going to feed himself and his daughter? He hadn't gone shopping nor did he prep for this trip to the cabin. Also, it was unclear how they could've been at the same cabin and the same time...was there no communication in the family? Keifer knew June was going to be there and stocked up for her. Jarred's father suggested for him and his daughter to get away to the cabin...did Keifer and his father never talked to each other about what they had done? And it rubbed me a little the wrong way when two adults expected a small child to keep such a secret from everyone. Children have no filters and say whatever pops in their heads. "How to keep secrets", wasn't a very good lesson for a dad to teach his daughter. Having said that though, it was a sweet story and I would recommend giving it a read.

Juniper (June) Reed has lost her job as a nanny and she has no where that she can go since she has rented out her home for the next two weeks. She turns to her long time friend, Kiefer, and he agrees to let her stay in the family cabin until she can go back home. His brother, Jarred along with his daughter, Piper, arrive at the cabin, sent there by his dad who did not know that June was also staying there. There is a snowstorm coming, of course, so June can't leave and stay anywhere else. She does, though, agree to take a hand at playing with Piper to entertain her during the storm. Piper is really struggling without a female role model in her life, and while her dad is trying, he's not female or a mother figure. Jarred and June have some good times, together, too, agreeing that their relationship is only for the short time while they are staying in the cabin.

After their time in the cabin, June returns home. She goes to a family gathering as Keifer's guest and Jarred gives her a hard time about butting into "family business". June runs off and ends up unconscious. Keifer takes her to the hospital and it is revealed that she is pregnant. She confesses everything that happened at the cabin. Can June and Keifer come up with a solution with Jarred or is it really over for good?

Editors and proofreaders need to help authos cut the repetitive phrases from Books. I am enjoying this book but I'm not just over 25% in and already I want to scream every time I read "my little brother's best friend", "my best friend's brother" "like family" . 25%!!!!!!!!!!! 50% author changed it up a bit and says "Keifer, her best friend, my brother" BANGS HEAD ON DESK is there a mandatory word count that makes authors do this????? Is this why editors let that crap thru??? It's mind numbingly annoying. It brings the overall enjoyment levels down!!!!! This isn't the only author to do this and it's frustrating. Write a smaller book or come up with something else to say. Took A star off my rating for all of that. Minus another star because as a parent it absolutely disgusts when women don't tell the dads that they're pregnant. He might not want the baby momma. BOO HOO he might want his kid tho and the kids deserve that. So do nice guys. So when a female author writes her heroine to not tell a baby daddy............ DO BETTER AS A WOMAN.

After all my ranting and despite the repetitiveness, I liked this story a lot until the heroine decided to be a bitch.

Must Read Off Limits Romance
Great addition to Callie Stevens’s “The Hawthorns” series. Juniper Reed is feeling lost when she is fired from her nanny job. Keifer Hawthorn is the only thing she has left from her childhood. He has been her best friend since kindergarten. The only person she can trust. He offers her his family cabin for a couple weeks. Keifer’s brother, Jarred and his three year old daughter, Piper, need to get away and be together for a bit so his dad offers him the cabin unbeknown to him that Keifer has already offered it to June. After the three are storm stayed for several days, Jarred starts to notice things about June he never did before . The attraction and undeniable chemistry just keeps growing , but she is an honorary member of the Hawthorn Clan and Keifer’s best friend - definitely off limits. This is a heartwarming steamy romance with family drama mixed in throughout. I quickly fell in love with the characters especially Piper and enjoyed their interaction and road to a happy-ever-after.
I received an ARC of this book from the author in return for voluntarily writing an honest review.

I enjoyed the first book in this series, but I loved this one even more. I really liked both Jared and June. I loved that she was best friends with his brother, and wasn't someone he'd ever really been close to, though she was close enough to the family to be considered part of the family. I enjoyed the way their relationship grew over the course of their time snowed in together in the cabin. I absolutely loved little Piper. She was adorable and charmed everyone she came into contact with- except her mother, which was very sad. I loved how June handled her. I also loved her relationship with Keifer and wish I saw more of them together. I wanted her happy ending with Jared- though his attitude at one point really upset me. But such is drama. This story had less tension than the previous one, and felt overall sweeter with the happy family vibes at the cabin.

I listened to this audiobook narrated by Melissa Connell & Scott R. Smith. Melissa and Scott did a wonderful job bringing their characters to life. I look forward to them in the next book.

Overall: 5 stars
Performance: 5 stars
Story: 5 stars

Loved the dual narration from Melissa Connell and Scott R. Smith

June finds herself with no job, sacked as a nanny for something she did not do, also with no place to live as she has rented her house out for the next two weeks. Keifer her friend offers her his family cabin, he drops her off . When a set of lights appear she thinks it might be Keife. Instead of Keifer it is his brother Jarred and his daughter Piper. Jarred has gone to the cabin for him and his daughter to spend some one-on-one time together. June tells him that she would leave the next morning so that he could have the cabin to himself with Piper. But a snow storm has started meaning , June can not leave since they were snowed in.
We have drama, angst, emotions and romance.

I loved this book. It is book 2 in a series but can be read as a standalone. I haven't read the first book and got the family dynamic straight away (excuse me why I go and devour book one I can't wait to see how Rye and Ash happened)

Jared has known Jube practically her whole life. They do weekly family dinners but they don't talk or have much one on one time, following his daughter Piper having a tough time, they escape to the family cabin to reconnect unbeknownst to the. June is hiding out there following the unexpected end of her job.

June and Jared were perfect together, and add in Piper and there were so many tender moments.

Hot, steamy, fun and romantic, this book flowed so well, I finished it in one sitting and I can't wait to hear more from the Hawthorn family

Jared is a great guy and June brings him back to life, and he makes her see where she fits in the world. Great story.

This is the second book in The Hawthorn's series but is read as a standalone. June/Juniper is crushed when she loses her nanny job and has no place to go since her house is rented. Her best friend forever Keifer lets her use the family cabin. Things get interesting when his brother Jarred and his young daughter Piper show up not knowing anyone was at the cabin. The chemistry between them is off the charts and they try so hard to fight it. Piper and June establish a real bond. Temptation rules and they decide 'what happens at the cabin stays at the cabin'. Then things get stormy, hurt feelings, concealed feelings, family drama, surprise baby and no shortage of angst. No spoiler here but there is a beautiful ending that might make you cry then weep with joy. An HEA for everyone and no cliffhanger.

June has lost her job as a live in Nanny but can't go back to her house for a couple of weeks so her best friend Keifer offers her use of the family's cabin in Michigan. Not long after her arrival Keifer's older brother Jarred and his daughter Piper arrive for a break and some father daughter bonding time. Being snowed in after a big storm meant they got even closer but what will happen when they have to go back home especially as Piper has become very fond of June and they don't want to upset Keifer. Their decisions have consequences including a lot of hurt feelings and fear on both sides which they will have to deal with before they can move forward in their relationship. A beautifully written book full of so much emotion and love. You will not want to put this book down as you hope that they will both get their HEA.

Loved it!

Even though Jarred and Juniper had known each other nearly Their whole lives and never felt any interest toward one another, all it took was a snow storm and being stuck in his family cabin together for them to see each other differently. I loved their banter and how tender and easy they were together. By day keeping his 3yr old daughter entertained and by night indulging in each other. Everything is perfect at their cabin escape. But upon returning to the real world they vow to leave their brief relationship behind because June has been Jarred’s brothers best friend since kindergarten and they both know Kiefer will feel betrayed and furious. Not to mention how the rest of the family will feel. They both end up terribly Defensive and at the first family dinner after the cabin Jarred ends up blowing up at June cause of her to flee, heartbroken, and avoid everyone for months.

June grew up with the Harthorn brothers. She is best friend with Keifer, and like family to the rest. She even attends their Sunday family dinners. She is a nanny by trade. She gets fired when a father makes the moves on her, and she declines the advances. She decides to spend some time at the family cabin while she figures out what she wants to do. Jared is a single dad. He is struggling at the moment, and needs time way. He decides to spend time at the family cabin with his daughter, just the two of them. Surprise, it is 3 of them. They have to figure out how to work it out when they get snowed in. One thing leads to another, and June and Jared become a thing. It does not go well when they rerun to reality after the snow storm subsides. Jared is an unpleasant jerk, to say it nicely. Will they work it out?
The story is well written. The characters are interesting people.

This was such a great book. The crazy tension of the forbidden of the sibling's best friend. Knowing you are supposed to stay away from them and they are supposed to be someone you should never want.

Jarred has never really notice Juniper before, but being snowed in with her at the family cabin makes things a little different. The only people there are him, her, and his daughter. She is so amazing with is daughter it makes it hard not to see her in another light. The sexual tension is off the charts. He fights it for as long as he can because he knows his brother will kill him if he sleeps with his best friend. Juniper is suppose to be like his sister, but he doesn't have sisterly feelings towards her. So much tension and conflict.

This story delves deeper into the lives of the Hawthorn family, focusing on single father Jarred, his daughter Piper and his youngest brother's best friend, June. Even though Jarred and June have been in each other's lives for the last 20 years, they don't actually know each other. Unfortunately, things happen that puts them in the same place at the same time, giving them the opportunity to get to know each other when they are snowed in for several days. The chemistry between Jarred and June is undeniable. June also develops a relationship with Piper. Fears and the thought of disappointing and upsetting the other family members, Jarred ends up hurting June and angering his brother. Jarred finally admits to his feelings for June but is it too late?.

Baby For the Off Limits Single Daddy is a steam read. Jarred Hawthorn is focused on raising his little girl. He has thrown himself into work. Until he is forced to take sometime off to spend with his daughter.

Juniper Reed has been a honorary member of the Hawthorn family for years. Her and the youngest son are best friends. When he offers the family's cabin for her to decompress after losing a job, she is grateful the space.

Neither, Jarred or Juniper expected anyone to be at the Hawthorn's cabin. When a storm hits, they decided to spend the time together. Their interactions show both how well they connect, but will they be able to convince the rest of the Hawthorn's they have a lasting connection?.
