The moon turns the tides, keeps the earth on its axis, gives us the four seasons and makes our days 24 hours long. It stands to reason, given all of this and the fact that we are approximately 60 percent water, that the moon influences us humans too. At some point, we've all no doubt been captivated by the striking sight of a full moon, stuck in the spot, feeling something stir within, unable to take our eyes away.
Drawing on ancient wisdom, Lunar Living is a positive, modern guide to living your life with an awareness of the moon's cycles by renowned moon mentor, Kirsty Gallagher.

Oh maaaaaaan, I loved this book so much!!! I’ve been super interested in Witchcraft and spirituality recently and I’ve been filling my head with all sorts of information from different places. So when I saw Lunar Living I was absolutely captivated straight away. I’ve been obsessed with the moon for as long as I can remember. There’s just something about her that captivates me and amazes me. I feel such a strong sense of calm and power whenever I see her, shining in the sky, no matter what phase she’s in. I’ve known for a while that people like to harness the power and energy of the moon to help them in their everyday lives, but I didn’t quite know how. On my journey through spirituality, I just knew that working with the moon was something that I would want to do. And so, of course when I found out about this book, I instantly bought it and couldn’t wait to get stuck in and learn! - POSITIVES: * concise and easy to understand information * mention of crystals and rituals to do * contents of the book flow really well * highly educational * really friendly tone * enlightening * appealing to people who love astrology - NEGATIVES: * I honestly can't think of anything~ I just hope that Kirsty Gallagher brings out more books in the future! 😍👀 - This book has assisted me hugely on my witchy / spiritual journey and I will be following Kirsty Gallagher’s work from now on! I’m so excited to learn even more things in this vast field! You can read a slightly longer review of this on my Wordpress blog at: https://loiereads.wordpress.com/2021/...
I’ve been a fan of Kirsty for a while now so was thrilled when her book arrived! I really enjoyed reading this. It’s not like other books I’ve read on this topic where sometimes it’s very difficult to understand or goes into wayyyy too much detail for a beginner. This book is concise and incredibly knowledgeable. I learnt a lot and (the key point) actually understood what I read!! I really like the way the book is split up too which makes it easy to dip in and out of for each stage of the moon in each zodiac. I think I’ll be referring to and using this book in my Moon work forever more! Thank you Kirsty and Lunar Living!
Kolejna kwestia to, że niestety jednak ta książka miała taki dość mocno „magiczny” wydźwięk a ja chyba oczekiwałam trochę czegoś innego.
A very practical and friendly introduction to those beginning the journey into understanding the moon and its influence on our lives. It has definitely helped to start me on the path of thinking and exploring this mysterious and forgotten understanding of our connection with the moon.
Lovely book about the moon and why it can play a crucial role in taking control of life. Liked how it touched on chakras, astrological moon zones, shadow work and affirmations. Keep an eye for signposts, be attentitive to synchronicities and trust your intuition.
"You can't get to your future while your past is still present"
"As long as you keep surpressing or ignoring your emotions, hiding or staying in denial, you can't heal".
I really really enjoyed this book. Astrology and the moons is something I’ve always had interest in but never 100% knew what it meant / how they worked. But after reading this and seeing how the different signs and moons at certain times of year can effect you was a big eye opener to this kind of spirituality as has been so much stuff going on in my life over the last 18 months which line up perfectly to the certain moons. It’s made me excited to work with these moons more and be more focused on what’s going on in my life rather than just doing “moon rituals” on new and full moons for the sake of it. I’m excited to explore this more after reading this. I liked how it was all kept so simple to understand and follow as some Informative books can easily become boring due to their language etc but that’s not the case with this one.
Well. I haven't finished reading this book. And i don't want it. No! It's not because i don't like the book. I like it very much. It is because this book is mostly a tool that needs to be used all the time as the moon changes, month by month. So, being totally grateful that i had the chance to find this book on my way, i want to share with you how good it is. I find myself in all that is mentioned there. It works for me. Big thank you to the author. 💚
Learning more about the moon, universe and generally trying to feel connected and manifesting with positive intentions 🌙 Gojng to buy a copy of this to keep ❤️✨
For my first finished book of the year, I had high hopes for Lunar Living’ which I choose as the cover for the 52 books club challenge. The concept of aligning your life with the moon's phases seemed intriguing and full of potential for meaningful insights. Unfortunately, the book fell flat.
The main takeaway—that you might want to slow down and rest on the new and full moon—could have easily been distilled into a single paragraph. Instead, the author stretches this simple message across an entire book, which feels repetitive and unnecessarily drawn out.
While there were a few moments of inspiration, they were buried beneath too much filler and over-explained concepts. I was expecting a deeper exploration of lunar cycles, their impact on daily life, or actionable rituals, but the content lacked depth and substance.
If you're completely new to the idea of working with lunar phases, this might be a light and easy introduction. But if you're looking for practical advice or a richer understanding, you might want to look elsewhere. Overall, a disappointing start to the year’s reading.
This book was super informative and really opened a new 'spiritual' observation and meaning to the moon and what it can mean for us. It was really easy to read, but at times I felt overwhelmed. This book definitely isn't for super beginners like me, it has good information and facts. However, there is no first hand experiences which makes me quite sceptical.
Although I love the subject and the book provides a good introduction to it, it is written quite simplistically. Kinda like a magazine, which was a bit of a let down for me. I'd have loved some more depth, especially when reading about the different signs.
My review is not a reflection on the boom its self. But unfortunately I have discovered that Moon/ luna books are really just not for me in any way. Can't take to them, can't read them, just urgh. However if you like this kind of stuff do not be put off. Lots of information in here
Autorka opisuje proste ćwiczenia i zaklęcia.
Connect with the Magic of the moon cycles and live a happier life.
Kirsty Gallagher is a moon mentor that explains in this wonderful book how simple lifestyle changes, based on the moon's phases, can bring about positive life transformation.
To recognise when you should retreat and rest, or when to put yourself out into the world, shine and make things happen.
Included is a guide to the moon in each zodiac sign, moon rituals, affirmations and crystal suggestions. This easy to follow guide will help you to...
🌘 Feel empowered to make big life decisions 🌗 Understand yourself better 🌖 Tune into your natural cycles 🌕 Improve your sleep, mindset and relationships 🌔 Live with intention
I found this book very interesting, I love the fact that the moon can have such an influence on our emotions and reactions to things. It's fun to read about the different zodiacs and what sort of life circumstances we should be focusing on or avoiding at that time.
Anything that can help improve mindset and positivity is a good thing in my book.
Lunar Living: Working with the Magic of the Moon Cycles by Kirsty Gallagher is an interesting personal development book infused with both nature and astrology. Gallagher explores how the moon cycles affect our lives. She offers ideas, affirmations, journal prompts, and suggests crystals that may assist us during the different moon phases. The second half of the book, she dives deep in to the astrological signs and how they also impact us in combination with the lunar phases. I found Lunar Living to be interesting and informative. Although I love to follow the phases of the moon and do believe they affect our lives, I probably wont be as involved with all of Gallagher’s suggestions. I will however be trying her journal prompts and affirmations. Ultimately, I enjoyed this book and do recommend it. Gallagher’s writing is conversational. I listened to the audiobook and enjoyed her narration but I do recommend you get a print copy because you’ll want to revisit all of her prompts, affirmations, and suggestions.
As a person whose mental state and energy levels are deeply affected by the full moon I have been trying to find a book that would explain this phenomena more in depth. This book talks about the impact of each phase of the lunar cycle on human beings and I found it to be accurate, realising it is not just the full moon that affects me but also the new moon and other phases. I am not into witchcraft or astrology or anything like that so I was not very keen on the chapters about zodiac signs and moon rituals but the lunar cycle part of the book was so useful and inspiring that this book deserves 4 stars just for that. Kirsty explained how to work with each phase of the lunar cycle, focusing on different things like self care or goal setting depending on the moon phase. There are good journal prompts for each phase too and Kirsty explains that it is more meaningful to focus on lunar cycles rather than live a linear life. Brilliant!
a fast-paced book about working with the moon phases to help achieve more balance and harmony within our lives and realign positive things. It discusses parts of the origins and history of the lunar cycle, zodiac signs in each of the phases, moon rituals and practices, and overall different energies of the lunar cycle and how to harness that energy to promote being in tune with what each of our bodies needs. Overall the author is a pretty passionate and inspiring person, however, a con I would note about Lunar Living and Kristy Gallagher is the incorporation of “feminine” and “masculine” energies, terms considered to be outdated because active and passive are better more encompassing terms, and mentions the use of cleansing through Palo Santo or Smudge Stick which we know are CLOSED. I put this book in higher rated versus mid because most of the information is pretty good and the cherry-picking only comes in little sentences.
Lunar Living is a great general introduction for those who are looking to start living more in-phase with the moon, but have no idea where to start. Kirsty Gallagher holds our hand and takes us on a friendly visit of all the whats, whens, and hows, touching on a wide variety of rituals and practices. There's a lot of information here, but it's always clear and never intimidating. I did find the introductory chapters to be a bit repetitive, though the second and third sections more than make up for the somewhat slow start. Also, just as a heads-up, the text makes several references to "moon sisters" and "sisterhoods", which might lead some readers to feel a bit excluded. Otherwise, I did find the writing to be engaging and enjoyable to read. This book is a starting point for me, and I will continue to use it as a reference throughout the year.
This is pretty far from my typical book choice, so anything I say should be taken with a HUGE grain of salt as I don't think I was the intended audience. That being said, I picked this up off my wife's book shelf due to an off-hand remark of my hers stating that she wished she had a "Moon Buddy." So, in an effort to fulfill said desire, I got busy mastering the moon with this handy little guide book. I can't say that I am a full believer yet, but it does have some extremely intriguing information that I will certainly have to refer back to. I am looking forward to exploring this further with my wife and becoming the best Moon Buddy a lady could ask for! I am always super thankful for activities that can bring us closer together. 😀
I picked up this book on a trip to The Works…. A friend had mentioned that the full moon was probably effecting my mood and my interest was piqued. As soon as I started reading I followed @kirsty_gallagher_ on Instagram and really loved her lunar updates. I would recommend reading Lunar Living alongside following Kirsty as she explains what the current phase of the moon we are in.
The lunar cycle definitely impacts my moods but I have enjoyed reading and learning about the holistic approach lunar living brings to my life. If personal development and spirituality is your thing then you should read this and give some of the practices a go.
I got the audiobook version and I think I would’ve given an extra star to the physical version and would recommend it in physical form. As an audiobook the beginning and end sections were really interesting and useful but the majority of the book talks about each stage of a moon in each zodiac sign in quite a lot of detail and without a physical reference I am never going to remember anything I listened to! But I’ll be following Kirsty Gallagher on social and visiting her website for the materials she’s highlighted as available there!
Lovely introduction to "moon magic"; I really enjoyed learning about the lunar cycles and how they can affect our energies and emotions. This book has a new-age/self-help vibe where the author gives advice on how to harness the different phases of the moon through actions such as taking time to rest and creating vision boards. I have downloaded an app for the lunar cycles and will definitely be using this book as a point if reference. Because I am a geek I am going to move on to researching how the moon was used by our ancestors and delve more into the sciencey parts.
The right book at the right time. Somehow this book got into my hands just at the start of a new lunar cycle.
Lunar Living is highly practical. There’s no unnecessary blah blah and gets to the point. I love it!
I’ll put this book on “read” for now, since I’ve read everything in it, but I will hopefully keep on reading this book for a while, until it gets into my system. During the seven days that I’ve “used” Lunar Living, amazing changes have taken place, I want to keep this going and investigate more what will happen when I tune in to the phase of the moon more and more.
It’s a self help book, and I’ve never been one to put pen to paper. I powered through it, completed it over a long rainy afternoon. I have always loved the Moon and this book is great for a beginner like myself to this realm of thinking. It’s propped up against my work PC as the aim was to delve into it when I felt the need, to implement my cycle of development, but it’s been there for a month and all it’s doing is gathering dust. Not sure what I expected but it’s just not for me.
