Michael Allen had watched his father charm his way in and out of so many different kinds of trouble, he’d all but stopped counting. Unctuous, yet honorable, Buford Allen embodied the spirit and passions of the West. But this time something was wrong. Why was his father so set on buying a ranch in Warhorse, Montana, of all places? And what was in the tattered suitcase hidden under the hotel bed?
A riveting western novel that will raise you blood pressure with characters that are pure evil up against people that are forced to deal with them. The writing can be hard to follow at times but the description of the towns, cattle drives and characters is great. This would make a great series in the vein of Lonesome Dove but a less involved story.
Started great and petered out in part 3. Too much plot getting in the way of the story. But definitely some worthwhile moments. I enjoyed enough to purchase the authors other two books.
