James Blake and his family were safe - until he received the phone call that meant they knew where he was. A stolen Picasso lies at the root of an international conspiracy that reaches into the life of a prominent US politician with devastating consequences not just for him but for so many of those caught up in the crime. Wolfgang Heller, a ruthless assassin, is seeking to eliminate those who have any knowledge of the theft. James Blake must come out of hiding and face the threats to himself and his family by putting himself and his brother on the line.
I'm the author of the James Blake Thriller series (TAKE NO MORE, REGRET NO MORE and FORGIVE NO MORE) and the psychological thrillers EACH DAY I WAKE and SUGAR FOR SUGAR. A third psychological thriller HERE THE TRUTH LIES is now available. I'm also the author of the the sci fi thrillers DOUBLE BIND and, my latest, JESSICA 8.
An avid reader from an early age - my grandfather ran a mobile lending library in Birmingham - I was hooked from the first moment I discovered the treasure trove of books left to my parents. I was a university academic for many years, latterly at University of Liverpool. Now, as a full-time writer, my goal is to add to the magic of the wonderful words and stories I discovered back then. I live in the Wirral, UK.
Regret no more by Seb Kirby. A fantastic read with some great characters. Loved Julia Jim and Miles. Didn't like Reid. Glad what happened to him. Looking forward to reading the next book. 5*.
Another gripping episode in the Blake family's life! Action packed, full of wanton revenge for crimes from past generations. I love the research that Seb Kirby has done, and its meticulously set out.
This is the second in a series about James Blake. And it kept me reading from cover to cover, very quickly. I like the short chapters that keep moving rapidly from scene to scene. There are many characters in this novel, and each have unique lives, but also something in common. To begin with, James Blake and his wife Julie, who is about seven months pregnant, receive a call that sets them off from Weymouth, England, to London under assumed names of Charles and Mary Harrington.
Another prime character is German born Wolfgang Heller who is a brutal hired killer. He's been hired by a man in prison serving a life sentence, the vengeful, Matteo Lando. How many people have been targeted for death?
Jack Franks, an FBI agent, is the man to warn James Blake that the FBI knows he's been located and his life is at risk. He offers to help James, as he indicates that there are U.S. national security issues involved. The FBI will help him, if he helps them. Yet James does not know how he can help them.
Miles Blake, James' brother, an investigative reporter for a British newspaper, becomes aware of James' dilemma, and wants to help. However, he's been haunted by nightmares for three years because of what torture Julie had gone through by placing her in danger. Miles is not sure if he can right that wrong, but it is his duty as a brother. Would Julie ever trust him again?
There are a few more characters that enrich this fast-paced novel. There are numerous twists and turns in this compelling novel. It is gripping, intense, and captivates the reader to the end. Author Seb Kirby is an outstanding author who knows how to write what I think of as a classic action-packed thriller. I'm looking forward to the next book in the James Blake series.
After finding the first book in this series an easy and enjoyable read, I thought I'd crack on with books 2 and 3 in fairly quick succession. So this picks up where the first leaves off, and expands on the story from that first book, adding more to the history of the returning antagonist and giving a bit more depth to the Blake family too. Much like the first book, it's not groundbreaking or difficult to follow, it's interesting, enjoyable and exciting in places. Not sure I'd agree with the tagline that it's "unputdownable", but it's decent enough all the same. I will say though, if you pick this one up to read it, make sure you've read "Take No More" first, otherwise there's a few bits in here that would need explaining.
After reading the first novel in this series, I was happy for resolution but I kept thinking about the characters’ experiences. I could not let them go. Yet, I was not expecting a sequel. I was curious about where they were and how they had fared after the events of book 1. Hoping for the best but prepared for the worst. I totally didn’t see the story line coming. Wonderfully written mystery to be solved!
I received a copy of this book from TBC Reviewers request- Thank you This is the second book in the series and as always, I would recommend reading the first book to ensure you get the best from the series! I really enjoyed the first book in the series and was super excited to read the second book. The characters have been further developed and I loved the art mystery that was attached to the book.
Another very enjoyable crime thriller, continuing the story of James Blake. The pace is again excellent, the characters engaging and the action explosive. There are ingenious and chillingly psychotic bad guys and some unexpected developments in the plot. I look forward to reading the concluding book of the trilogy in due course.
This is the second book in the series and picks up from the first book where we followed Julia and James Blake. I enjoyed this sequel and it was equally as gripping. James encounters a few tricky situations and characters and with the aid of his brother fights to reconcile with his wife Julia who is also dodging danger. I await the third book impatiently 😉
An equally fast paced thriller to follow on from Take no more. James and Julia Blake are in hiding after surviving all that was thrown at them in the first book. Just as they think all is over there is more, much more. Lots of action, lots of twists, lots of bad guys. A great sequel. looking forward to reading the next book.
This book is a little more straightforward than the first book. Read it first, if you have not done so. The main characters are on the run for their lives. The lines between good and bad, or should that be bad and evil, start to blur. Strong characters come to life on these pages.
An international crime family dealing in drugs and art forgery has a bone to pick with James Blake and his pregnant wife Julie. They are hiding in witness protection under different names after foiling the gang’s operation in the prequel to this novel. Their cover is blown and James is abducted by rogue FBI operatives. In all, a fast-moving conspiracy thriller that would make a great film.
I’m a huge fan of Seb Kirby’s thrillers and having thoroughly enjoyed TAKE NO MORE, I was eager to read the sequel, REGRET NO MORE. One caveat however, for anyone new to Seb’s books… I would strongly advise you to read TAKE NO MORE first, in order to be able to follow some of this latest book’s intricate storyline.
With this book I’ve so enjoyed once more being transported back into James and Julia Blake’s tense, dramatic and sometimes downright terrifying life. Such shocking things just seem to present themselves and happen to this couple and to those involved with them!!
James is a compelling and likable character, as is his now heavily pregnant wife Julia, who plays a much more commanding role in this book. This novel also features a number of other incredibly forceful individuals… such as James’s brother, Miles, who also has a much bigger and more likeable presence this time, then there’s the evil, cold-blooded killer, Wolfgang Heller and the FBI agent, Nate Craven… to name just three, who are extremely well drawn by the author. What happens to James and Julia in this novel is in many ways extremely difficult to believe and yet, the writing is so good it somehow succeeds in totally suspending disbelief, keeping you constantly on tenterhooks throughout. I loved it!
I notice the reviewer, Ignite and a couple of other readers… have gone into quite a lot of plot detail, thus I see no point in adding to this… other than to say, if you enjoyed Take No More, and its nail-biting, fascinating involvement in the multifaceted and sometimes questionably criminal side of the art world, then you certainly won’t be disappointed with this book.
The enthralling, twisty, gritty plot keeps you gripped, guessing and glued to your Kindle all the way through, until the hugely dramatic, satisfying conclusion. However, it still leaves you wanting more. I therefore sincerely hope Seb is busy penning another “follow on” to this latest first-rate thriller. Congratulations Seb, on what I’m sure will be another immensely successful novel for you. I therefore award this highly recommended page-turner 5 stars.
First I would like to Thank the author for giving me this opportunity and honor in being able to read this book. I received this book through the goodreads giveaway in exchange for an honest review. When I received this book I began reading it at once. It has kept me on the edge of my seat reading from cover to cover, very quickly. I could not put it down. I really like the short chapters that keep moving rapidly from scene to scene. There are many very interesting and unique characters and happenings in this novel. This book is the second in a series about James Blake. I have never read anything by this author and so had not read book one in this series . At times I could tell I really needed to have already read book one in this series which is Take No More. Which by the way I will get a hold of and read also. I would strongly advise you read it first in order to be able to follow some of this storyline. But without reading the first book in the series I feel I was able to still follow along pretty well and I have truly enjoyed reading this book. I would recommend this book and the author Seb Kirby for any one who likes Mystery thrillers and such books in this genera. This was a fantastic read!!

As the title suggests, this continues the story of James and Julia Blake, first encountered in Take No More. Once again, it concerns dark deeds in the world of art and people supported by drug money. Julia is seven months pregnant when their safe hideaway under the Witness Protection programme is compromised. The author catches the fears a woman has for her unborn child - if Julia is killed, two lives are lost. The Blakes flee and go into hiding and James' brother Miles, who Julia blames for her situation in Italy, comes in to help. She doesn't know if she can trust him. The Lando family are out to eliminate anyone who knows of their latest money making scam and someone's let the cat out of the bag, incriminating several big names.
This is a tense and exciting thriller with settings in London and across the Atlantic. James and Julia are out of contact and each doesn't know if the other is safe or even alive. We meet ruthless hit-men, members of different law enforcement agencies; often we can't tell the good from the bad. There's a heart-stopping chase and a massive explosion and a body in a London hotel. If you enjoyed Take No More you really have to read this one!
Book 2, Regret no more, is another brilliant read, James Blake and his wife Julie, who was heavily pregnant with child, they had to go into witness protection. from the Lando's family, everything was fine for 3 years, till news came from a FBI agent that the Lando's were out for revenge, and had hired a hitmen named Wolfgang Hellier, and was out to get anybody that knew about the Lando's Art Collection theft, James had to get him and Julie away, with the help of his brother Miles, but things don't work out as planned, and James gets kidnapped by a crooked FBI, and Julie is left in the hotel, so she decides to leave a message for James with the hotel girl, and James sets out to find her. hoping everything is ok, he is also worried about Miles, hoping he gets back safely, from where he left him. A great story, couldn't put it down, l will be now reading Book 3, Forgive no more.
There are few things I enjoy more than sitting back with an entertaining espionage book. In that regard, Seb Kirby didn’t disappoint as I enjoyed this from the very beginning.
Writing this genre is challenging as there are enough details needed to make the novels believable that could fill their own encyclopedia. With that in mind, I have to admit that I was grateful this wasn’t a detailed as your typical Tom Clancy novel. The flow between facts and fiction was smooth and believable to the point I actually had to look up a couple of events to see if they happened. This was a fun read I had trouble putting down and look forward to reading more from this author.
Thanks to The TBC Reviewer Request Group for a copy of this book.
It is the 2nd in a series and I strongly encourage you to read the 1st one so you get the full background of the story.
It was a good read, full of action and an interesting story about stolen art. There are a lot of characters to keep track of but I found it mostly easy to follow along.
From the theft of the Mona Lisa, to forged PPicasso's, drug cartels, witness protection, and the murder of an AMerican politician and his family, this is a fast-paced page turner.
