Don Pedro Garcia believes the drunken Captain Sanchez' claim that the Don's only son is still alive and living among the savages in New Spain's uncharted wilderness.
Don Coldsmith was an American author of primarily Western fiction. A past president of Western Writers of America, Coldsmith wrote more than 40 books, as well as and hundreds of newspaper and magazine articles. His “Spanish Bit Saga,” a series of related novels, helped to re-define the Western novel by adopting the point of view of the Native Americans, rather than the European immigrants.
Follow the Wind Don Coldsmith Spanish bit series book 3 Juan Garcia (Heads off"s) father in Spain Don Pedro Garcia initializes a troop to go to the New Spain (Amarica) to search for his son. This is a continuation of the "Spanish bit"series. Gave this 4 stars Interesting stories. Most books are 200 pages or less so they are good quick reads.
This was an exciting mix of Spaniard lore with the Spanish Trail indian story. I wanted to skip to the end so bad, but then I checked back . . . I would be missing so much. Need to read faster!
Reading this book in the Spanish Bit series was like watching a very good movie. Actually, someone should make this book into a very good movie. It gets bonus points for having a strong and intelligent female character.
So good. This one gives us a glimpse of Heads Off’s life and family before he joined the tribe of the People in New Spain. I loved it. Can’t wait to read more of these.
Very good "Western" story. It's actually not like your normal American Western tale. Lots of nicely developed characters and a nice continuing storyline. Recommended
