As the world continues its slow collapse, Ronald Ash and his friends believe they are prepared for anything. But without the law’s protection, it’s up to them to stop any menace at their door.
Even if they can thwart undisciplined thugs who are desperate for food and warmth, they face a greater existential threat.
Someone with immense power has revenge on his mind and Ronald ends up in his crosshairs.
As they race to safety, everything they know and believe is about to collapse on top of them.
From USA Today best-selling author M.L. Banner comes Collapse, the second book in the relentless action-thriller Ashfall Apocalypse series. Perfect for fans of Kyla Stone, Ryan Schow, Mike Kraus, Jack Hunt, and Franklin Horton.
Rated PG-13 for mild language and moderate violence
I devour the same books I enjoy writing: science fiction, set in an apocalyptic/post-apocalyptic or dystopian world. I love stories about regular people being thrust into extra ordinary circumstances, and having to rely on their own cunning and that of others to survive. And I love a twist at the end.
My just released Ashfall Apocalypse, as well as previous series Madness, Highway and Stone Age are those kind of stories. They're fast moving, have some regular (and amazing) characters who must make life changing decisions, all while the world is experiencing an apocalypse.
Besides writing, my wife and I travel the world (often to research the next book). But often you can find me on a beach, Kindle in hand, with my Toes in the Water (name of my publishing company).
I'm enjoying the action! I was a little scared about Joey not making it when Lynette mentioned it. I'm glad they got a new person in their team and he seems to be very well trained, thank goodness he was stalking Ron and his crew otherwise Ron would be dead by now. It sucks that they can never start over without being haunted by Busters family, dad. I think Silas is stupid! He should definitely run away and not work for O.P anymore, he is going to kill you eventually Silas! I can't believe Ron killed the twins, they sounded lethal! I wonder if OP is gonna get them now that they are on the move. I hope they get away but the next book has to be about OPs death!

Survival in the wake of volcanic dust filling the atmosphere took ingenuity and skill. Ron had plenty of both. His small band of survivors did just thst: survived. Ron's underground greenhouse powered by hydroelectric power ensured that their diet was varied and healthy and they didn't have to scavenge from diminishing sources. They would be terrific in this savage future were it not for the presence of the head of a Mexican cartel and his army living nearby.
Lessons in survival don't include living in the shadow of insane evil. It should. The characters are rough around the edges, but who wouldn't be with their past. Beaten, raped and tortured. I would never have survived a week, let alone six months! Strong characters and a great storyline. Add in an excellent storyteller and it adds up to a great read!
I really enjoyed this second book in the series. The story continues to be fast paced and it grabs you from the start. My only complaint would be that there are some character inconsistencies related to Leticia. In the first book she’s described as being 9 years old, but in this book she was said to be 12 and then 13 with no explanations in either book about why her age is randomly going up faster than the book is moving forward. A minor pet peeve that isn’t enough to cost it a star, but hopefully something the author will address at some point.
This book picked up where the first book left off. This one seemed shorter, but it is, but also because it is non stop action. I am enjoying the characters, at least the protagonists. I can't really talk about what takes place without adding spoilers so will just say I enjoyed this book and am already into the third and final story.
A few nods to the Ice Age seriies, another good read . Here, the Cartel headed by OP, Busters father is in town, searching for Busters killer . And taking over the town and all of its supplies. Ron turns out to be of value to them with his knowledge of all things mechanical .
WOW, Action from beginning to end. The Cartel is still a pain in the groups butt. But they are alive because of Ron and his skills. Now they are forced to leave, but they have a new group member, Compton he is military trained and Dog likes him, he must be cool then.
Hard to say. I thoroughly enjoy reading his books. My biggest problem is waiting for the next book. If you enjoy intrigue then you will love all of his books. Download them all.
Another exciting book with non stop action. Surprises at every corner. An easy read because it’s hard to put down. A tale of survival leaving you guessing from one moment to the next. Survivors vs the bad guys. I look forward to the next installment
I think there is much that is close to the evil that some of humanity is capable in this book that made me squirm (figuratively). Ron and his new family have the odds stacked against them battling against a cartel with no controls. It’s a good read!
That is what it takes to survive the apocalypse. It is a great read and always welcome to add new people to the group and the dog is a good read on good versus bad people. That’s awesome!
Like most apocalypse stories, this deals with a major cataclysm and a few survivors who are smart and brave enough to take on survival in really difficult conditions.
Fantastic series so far. Great character depth and edge-of-your-seat descriptions. You can rarely predict the direction something is headed before you are taking a hard left at the last moment.
The crew get another valuable member, Compton, an ex Navy Seal. Letitia almost brings the group down by not keeping her satchel out of sight. Looking forward to book 3
