For the past five years, Em Knightly has had the same reoccurring nightmare that leaves her gasping for air. No doctors have been able to help her with these nightmares without leaving her numb or unlike herself...except one, one that sends her to Brier Hall, an old Victorian manor that is now a place for troubled teens.
But there is something peculiar about Brier Hall, something not right. There is a terrible legend about the manor - a legend of true love, death, and magic. A legend of witches and ghosts. But Em doesn't believe in ghosts...at least not until she meets Casey, a mysterious boy who seems to know something about her that even she doesn't know. And Em plans on finding out what exactly that something is.
When she’s not swimming with mermaids or running with werewolves, Kira Moericke is binge-watching comedy shows, going for walks, or hanging out with her family. She’s a Disney geek who loves to write with her cat, Phoenix, by her side.

This is an amazing book! It was so hard to put down, I just wanted to keep reading. If I could give this book more then 5 stars I would. I have never been disappointed by this young Author. Can't wait for another book from her.
I am a fan of anything super natural or paranormal. This ghost story did not disappoint. I’m a hopeless romantic at heart so this love story gave me all the feels. I love the idea of past lives and reincarnation. Really enjoyed reading this story. I honestly would love to read More of it! Definitely recommend.
I normally don’t write reviews but holy crap, this book was so good! I couldn’t put it down!
I loved the romance between Em and Castiel. I truly did see that their love was real.
***SPOILERS***
Also, Jayden was cute and he really liked Em but I think she made the right decision about going home.
I have to say, I did suspect Lena the entire time butttt when it was revealed that Lexi had a crush on Em, I actually burst out laughing. I wasn’t expecting that at all!
All in all, fantastic book by a new/young author and I will definitely read more books by her in the future!

This book was amazing. I am so glad that I was able to have it and read it. It's another one of those books that you think could actually happen in the world.
It's supernatural part is simple and subtle enough that it could be happening right now. And I love these types becuase it gives some hope that the world is more interesting than it looks.
Insanity is partially like Fallen by Lauren Kate. It has the same foundations, but the plot, characters, and everything else is much different.
Em is a very intuitive character who follows her heart and copes very well with the things thrown at her at the end of the book. I only wish her ending was happier for her and her friends.
Honestly I was a bit suspicious of Nova to begin with. But that was just the brilliant writing of Moericke to fool the reader into thinking that she is the bad guy instead of who it really was.
With that, the writing was amazing. With the flashbacks being woven into the story very well and allowing us to imagine being in the same very position.
I recommend this for everyone, it was an amazing read and one that I definitely don't regret!!

Amazing. I listened to the audio version. There was a part where a woman started chasing the main character down the hall. She had said her name very creepy like. I kept looking down my hallway to make sure there wasn't anyone watching me. 😀
It kept me at the edge of my seat. There were parts that were predictable, but other parts that had me guessing until the very end.
I would definitely recommend and pick up another one of the authors' books. I would also recommend and listen to the narrator as well.

Em Knightly has reoccurring nightmares about jumping off a cliff. After several years she is sent to Brier Hall; a place for youth with mental health issues or legal problems. Kira Moericke captured the scary possibilities that lay in an old victorian manor. There were twist and turns that kept me reading until I finished the book in one day. I did the audio book. The narrator, Amanda Davidson, did a fantastic job of conveying the characters, flashbacks, and even singing! The only thing I would have liked to saw would maybe be an epilogue to see 5-10 years down the road.
This is the first book I have read (listened) to for the year of 2025. And man did it not disappoint me at all! From the second I put my AirPods in and pressed play on the audiobook, I felt like I was in a movie. With some audiobooks I can’t get into because I don’t relate to the main character or I just can’t get into the world. Not with Insanity! I was able to relate and feel for the main character Em. So far Em is my favorite character that the author has written. I was also very intrigued with the storyline! Also that plot twist, it took me by surprise! I busted out laughing and I couldn’t have thought of a better one than that one!
I loved that it had thrilling aspects along with forbidden romance! It’s honestly one of my favorite tropes in books. And not for one second did I think that this book wasn’t going to get 5 stars. If I could, I would be giving it 6. I will forever think about this book after reading.
Since this is the author’s first audiobook, I am so excited for what the future holds for her! She is an amazing author and there is not one book that I don’t love from her! I am so excited and pumped for more books and audiobooks to be released from this author! She has got to be one of my favorite authors!
Is a dream really just a dream? Travel to Brier Hall and find out. For those who enjoyed Beautiful Creatures but with less magic. Has a love interest, but nothing major.
This is a quick read, it holds your interest. It is a bit predictable, but not in an annoying way. My main problem was with the way it ended, so no spoilers just sayin’.
This book was provided to me for an honest review.
