Persistent Self-Help or OCD, PTSD?: A Controversial Review of Disorders, ECT, TMS, and Other Psychiatric Products

Rate this book
Three-hundred-fifty billion annually in psychiatric drugs, but where is the help or improvement in the people? Where is the science? No biological test to prove anyone has a disorder.

ECT - no one knows "how it works". With no US federal regulations on it. Where is the US FDA with this?

What is TMS? Do doctors diagnose people with disorders using a quiz?

Persistent Self-Help or OCD, PTSD: A controversial review of Disorders, ECT, TMS, and other Psychiatric  products" by Brett Lemos is an excellent primer on psychiatry and some of the problems with it. The author does an excellent job presenting his own experience with psychiatry, as well as sharing some alarming facts and statistics about several psychiatric practices, including ECT and TMS. It is a quick read, but definitely worth your consideration. As someone who has worked in the field for a number of years, I found most of the observations to be spot on.  The information about the psychiatric drugging of toddlers and infants was particularly disturbing. Whatever your beliefs about psychiatry, this book will give you a fresh perspective.
