When Lyra finds out Bon Bon is actually a secret agent, there's only one thing she can do - join her best friend undercover!
Can the secret agent ponies protect Equestria?
When a mysterious pony named Agent Furlong pays Bon Bon a visit, Lyra discovers that her best friend is actually an operative for a top secret monster-capturing league. To prove their friendship is forever, Lyra and Bon Bon will have to go undercover together and protect Equestria from the ongoing changeling threat.
Gillian M. Berrow (G.M. Berrow) is a writer and television industry professional living in Brooklyn, New York. When she was little, she aspired to become either a princess or a magical pony. Things seem to be right on schedule.
As an avid mlp fangirl I'm always looking for more content for my collection, but up until now I had strayed away from any of the books for fear of them being too “childish". However I had a few spare gift cards so I went ahead and ordered this one offline on a whim.
I finished it in two days, and that’s only because I read as slowly as possible to prolong my experience. It was a really cute read though it was a rather short story and the "mystery" is solved pretty easily, I know this is likely due to it being aimed more towards children though. There are however, references to spy movies and such that I’m not certain children would understand so maybe the author knew an older audience would likely buy it as well.
In all, it’s still a fun, cute story and it’s refreshing to see some “background ponies” take the lead. The book also contains some activity pages in the back that I’m sure kids would love and the story isn’t difficult to follow but, hey, I’m twenty-two and I still loved it so there you go.
Really delightful story. Smart, funny and REALLY REALLY queer- you don't have to read much below the surface to know this is a romance between Bon Bon and Lyra <3
Not quite as involved as the Daring Do books- but definitely a great read for any my little pony fans who just can't get enough of these characters. This book had everything I would want/expect - lots of pony references, cute story, fun pony/pun language.
We didn't require such elaborate worldbuilding for two background ponies, but FIM delivers anyway. The story is funny, well-constructed, and turns two otherwise non-entities (Lyra and Bon Bon) into characters that fans can become attached to.
While this wasn't "can't put it down" or "squealing in delight" good, it was still pretty epic. I don't know how I feel about the spy agency being so tyrannical (it seemed to me) but there were plenty of good plot twists. The best part was simply getting to know the characters and seeing the arc of their relationship. I could relate to Bon Bon being annoyed that her best friend turned out to be so good at something when she is the one with all the years of experience. And it was also satisfying to see them patch up the lying/secrecy conflict from Slice of Life.

More pony fun! Join Lyra and Bon Bon as they face their biggest friendship challenge yet: having to work together to uncover the changelings in their midst.
I absolutely adore getting to see more of Lyra and Bon Bon together.
Fantastically written. Fits perfectly within the universe of the show. Nice themes of teamwork, listening to others, and not letting your ego get in the way of your goals.
Includes fun secret agent themed activities in the back including writing your own mission, creating disguises, decoding a message, and making your own code.
A delightful story about two best friends getting roped into solving a spy case.
To be honest, I didn’t watch the My Little Pony TV series until Lyra and Bon Bon were introduced. I’m not sure if they had a minimal role or a few episodes but this story was entertaining and even without all that background I enjoyed it.
The bond between Lyra and Bon Bon is adorable and are just like any other two beloved friends. They’re still building their friendship so they experience all the little trifles and bumps we do in real life. Their struggle as they navigate their friendship is both heartwarming and relatable to read about. I also enjoyed the spy story and how both friends compliment each other’s personalities and skills.
Although the majority of the story is great the ending felt rushed. The case was solved really easily without any surprises or issues and I think the Mane Six’s appearance was a bit random. Although it was expected and hinted at, it felt a bit unnatural and fast.
Overall, I enjoyed this story as it was a different take from the Mane Six and it was nice to read about some other pony. It has some great lessons in it as well and is a sweet and easy read.
I am forced to listen to a lot of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic audiobooks, and they are all enjoyable (although not as enjoyable as the show itself which is epic) and this one is absolutely unhinged and I love it. Lyra and Bon Bon are beloved side characters with a rich story (believe me, MLP: Friendship is Magic is great) and this story is one whacky scene after another. Kiddos won't get the Men In Black/X Files type references, but they will have a grand time listening to these two's escapades and learning about the magic of friendship, of course!
I was a little nervous and didn't like that they pulled Twilight and her gang into this unknowingly, because it changes the way I think about the show behind the scenes. However, it is a great book and I would so read it again.
Demetrius and I just finished this book! We are loving these books! This book was a really great way to teach kids about narcissists without actually naming it or calling anyone out. Such a cute story!
These books are slowly improving. Were I the target audience, I would have quite enjoyed this one. As it is, I mostly read them whenever they pop up in a place I can get them for free, out of a sense of fandom completionism.
Berrow captures the spirit of MLP, although sucks to the party line from Episode 100 where Lyra and Bon Bon are "*best* friends" wink-wink-nudge-nudge.
This is such a fun book, and it embraces it's absurdity so well.
I loved how well Lyra embraced the role of being a secret agent, and Bon Bon's struggle was believable as well, with worrying about her friend and the impact this will have on her life. This is probably my favorite book so far out of the bunch, as it felt like such a natural continuation of episode 100, and it really kept the spirit of that episode, where you can tell the author was having fun in the ridiculousness of it all.
