Mai Mochizuki was born and raised in Hokkaido and now lives in Kyoto, and originally wrote Alice in Kyouraku Forest as a series of novels. She's written numerous other titles, including 4th Kyoto Book Award winner Kyoto Teramachi Sanjou no Holmes which was turned into a manga and anime series.
This book centers around the lives of different people living in Japan and as their personal lives unfold how they keep having the same mysterious dream regarding astrology and a cat cafe. It was short sweet, and to the point. I particularly enjoyed it because you don't see a lot of non-fiction centered around astrology, even still from Japanese culture or perspective.

Lovely book, full of magic and sweetness, where astrology and cats give people advice on their issues and problems. I am very into astrology but I will admit that it sometimes dives a little bit too deep. However, the use of the terms to explain situations and give solution was interesting. The characters are very endearing and I wish that I could stumble upon this cafe where you don't even order and they give you magical drinks and desserts, inspired by planets and space. A very easy read, perfect to wind down and end with a positive outlook on things!
I read it in 4 hours total. it's a short book about a group of children that grew up walking to school together. their lives eveloped quite different from another, but they found to themselves again. The cats of the cafe are very wise and cute, which is a relive from the protagonist heavy life problems. I love the bonding over desserts theme. I'm not so much a fan of the heavy astrology focus, which tries to explain every burden of the people
I mean, there are a few cats. So that's good. It kinda got boring about half way or two thirds in. I liked the interesting perspective from being set in Japan with Japanese characters and translated from Japanese.
the story was so good, it is what i would love to read about in such cozy times like November, but i feel like it could have been done better, perhaps a movie would be better .
I really enjoyed this books perspective on relationships (particularly romantic ones) and what makes them effective. Plus, the cats and desserts were a very fun combo!
