Loyalty is good, but blind loyalty can be deadly.
Garrett Sullivan and Katrina Long, known as Callie and Garrett to friends, was in a serious dating arrangement. He loved her. He thought she loved him. They argued over her taking an undercover assignment into the dark underworld of the Mexican Mafia in Southern California. The next evening there was a note from Callie saying her dad was sick and she’d call when she got there. She never called.
After a year of pounding her family and Homeland for information where his girl was, his team found her but she slipped away when approached. Soon afterwards Garrett is told she is dead but he never believed it. Now, two years later, Sharlee receives a call from Callie who was in trouble but disconnected before she could trace her. Garrett’s primary goal is to get Callie to safety and after that, he doesn't know.
Within a week, Homeland wants him to lead a team for a local job two years after Callie’s old employers had tried hard to distance themselves from him. Something fishy is going on and Garrett and his teammates will figure it out but in the meantime, they are determined to find and save Callie from whatever danger she is in before it is too late.
A second chance at loving Callie was miraculously in his grasp, if he doesn't blow it.

CALLIE AND GARRETT TOGETHER AGAIN
While this is the fifth story in the Safe and Secure series, it will read well as a stand-alone. It does have key players from the two previous books, like Jac and Sharlee Reynaud, and many of the people within the business. The story is full of mystery, suspense, danger, action, adventure, secrets, angst, and then throw in a second-chance romance. The story will mainly revolve around Garrett Sullivan and Katrina ‘Callie’ Long.
Garrett is one of the team members working under Jac Reynaud, and Callie was part of Homeland Security. Garrett is protective of her, wants to help vet the assignments she takes, and is shocked when she disappears with no word. It’s been two years, and now Homeland Security is asking for the protection of a witness, specifically for Garrett to be part of the pickup; what a shock to discover it is Callie needing protection.
The story’s plot is a roller-coaster ride of danger and suspense, steeped in deception, undercover work, and risk. From the time they retrieve Callie, attempts are made on her life. It will be up to the Reynaud group to piece together what has happened over the last two years. How her boss, Bernie Kane, used her, keeping her whereabouts a secret and even allowing her to be declared deceased. Callie has been so deep undercover that she had no protection and witnessed many atrocities. Escaping that nightmare only takes her from the frying pan into the fire. How deep inside Homeland Security is dirty? It seems that no one is trustworthy, and the only safe place is with Garrett and the team.
“I learned how to get around the crooks, but the so-called good guys were scarier than anything else in my life.”
The story will also have Callie and Garrett tiptoeing around each other now that she is back. He is glad she is alive, but he doesn’t know how he feels about her. She left, she didn’t tell him, and now he isn’t sure he can trust her. Yes, he will protect her, but who will protect him, his feelings, and his heart?
“I could use some of that me Tarzan, you Jane kind of thing.”
The story has the good, the bad, and the evil. The story is a page-turning tale with a great cast of characters, plenty of interactions, life, deadly danger, and fear—of the unknown and living again. Garrett and Callie are placed in several of their safe houses, but even they are compromised. They will go to the Reynaud compound, and along with the team, they will try and piece together who could be an accomplice to the crimes. How deep into Homeland will they have to go to track a mole, or moles?
Together, they navigate the dominant-submissive lifestyle they were starting to embrace, and it helps Callie learn to trust again by giving her control over to Garrett. The story has several scenes of power exchange and intimacy. While this story does have an ending—it also ends with a segue into the next book.

Great book in the Series
Love this series . The characters are woven into each new book that makes the story even better. I can't wait for the next one.
Absolutely love that the women each have a personality with a great career . They are standing on their own with a partner who supports and loves them.

Loved it
Loved Garret and Callies story and finally getting some answers to questions raised in previous books. Wow this story line had loads of emotions and twist and turn that kept me turning the pages. Lots of "threatened" spankings. This series just gets better with each book. Looking forward to reading more and the hours they take xx

Saving Callie
Call ie goes undercover and Garrett is told she died in a car accident so when she is finally able to contact him and the team, Garrett is less than trusting. Call ie and Garrett find their HEA.

Callie works Homeland Security while Garrett works with military brothers in a security company. They are into a serious relationship when she disappears into an undercover mission that lasts two years while Homeland declares her dead. When they are contacted to rescue someone and it turns out to be Callie, everything changes again. The characters are strong and determined and the storyline is intense, action-packed, steamy, and full of twists and lies. Loved how the relationship went through so many levels to get back to trust and deeper feelings.

This story keeps you on the edge of your seat. Action, suspense and resilience. Garrett and Katrina/Callie were dating two years ago when she disappeared. Garrett and his teammates tried and was unsuccessful in finding her. Now Callie calls out of the blue for help. While they try to find her again, Homeland Security calls and asks for help protecting an asset. Garrett is angry at having to take the job instead of looking for Callie. When he shows up for his assignment, he finds that Callie is the asset and has mixed feeling about seeing her again. Their journey begins. I loved the story.
