Trixie was within yards of her mother and other shoppers in a busy supermarket, yet no one witnessed her disappearance.
Trixie had died within hours of being taken, her body discovered two days later.
The original investigation team got nowhere, and they shelved the case as unsolved. Now it’s up to Meredith & Hodge, and the cold case review team (CCRT), to find out what happened to Trixie and catch her murderer.
Things go well until Meredith is told that funding for the CCRT is in question, and that could shut them down before they’ve really got started. Can Meredith solve what happened to Trixie? Will it be in time to save his department?
With Chief Constable Elizabeth Carrington looking over his shoulder, Meredith fears the worst, but is determined to get justice for Trixie.
If you like a compelling mystery, Error of Judgement is the book for you.

I don't know if this is the ending to this series of not? If it is, it ended wonderfully. Happy ending all around. Who could ask for more? It also left it open to continue with more fantastic adventures with the characters we come to love. I do hope so. This series made me laugh & cry. The author made the stories come to life. Great job. I can't wait to start reading about the Bearing women. Another group of fun loving adventure characters. I'm sure to have a laugh.
This is another excellent Meredith & Hodge book, they’ve moved into the cold case area of police work yet the author has kept the characters still authentic to themselves. The story starts with mind boggling puzzle of how the person got the young child out of the store, and for the life of me I couldn’t figure it out myself so hats off to the author for coming up with that it was superb. I would highly recommend this story and the ones from the whole series, as you read you do get swept in and taken on the incredible story along with the characters.
What a wonderful shift in the story that creates a whole new set of issues and new characters. I was able to listen almost non stop to this book. MK Turner once again outdid herself with ingenuity and intrigue with Error of Judgement. I like the new story line and the interesting way the characters are now interacting. I am unwilling to put in spoilers so if you are a fan of this series already I hope you enjoy Error Of Judgement as much as I did. If you are just seeing the series for the first time do yourself the favor and start at the beginning. I have listened to Lee Beddow expertly narrate all of the Meredith and Hodge books and never been disappointed in his talent or MK Turner's ability to tell a story that grabs me from the beginning. I was grateful for the code I was given to download this audio book. I am excited to see what Meredith and the gang get up to and into in the next book. Thanks to MK Turner and Lee Beddow for sharing your incredible talent in this audio version of Error of Judgement.
M. K.Turner, thank you, thank for listening to your friends and getting your work published. It beggars belief somehow but reading your books is like having you as a friend, popping around for coffee, and just chatting and writing at the same time. I'm not as talented as you, but, are, and then some !!!I I know that the series will end in the next book or two, so I just wanted to say Thank you so very much for being the lady you are, for being unbelievably talented( witch ) which you are, and I'm so grateful that I picked up the first book. I have to go now because I want to the next one. And it's taken me longer than normal to read this book, because people keep popping in for coffee !!!! And all i want to do is read, which is what I'm doing now.
Really enjoyed this book. Ms. Turner has such a marvelous way of storytelling, that I get so engrossed, I can't stop reading. I highly recommend this book to anyone that enjoys some mystery, some police procedures and some romance thrown in for good measure.
Seeing Meredith in his new role has worked out brilliantly and in the relationship with his team he has clearly mellowed somewhat. The scenes with his boss and the Chief Constable are riveting. Really looking forward to no. 14 in the series.
Meredith and Hodge have new jobs working together again on the CCRT (cold case review team). Meredith wonders if it wasn't the brass's attempt to put him out to pasture, but he seems to be more content here, more relaxed and human. He has hand picked his team so we have some of our favorite and most developed characters from past books plus a couple of new characters that fit right in. The team's first case is the abduction and subsequent murder of a small girl from a supermarket at rush hour where no one saw anything, almost a locked room mystery. The methods and thought processes behind the police investigation are interesting and seem very realistic. I had an inkling of the who but not the why or how. I like seeing Meredith and Hodge as a team again. I hope to see more of the CCRT in the future. I like the cold case format where they can really put their skills to use. Thanks to the author for giving me an early copy. This is an honest and voluntary review.
M&H fans are going to love this one. Meredith has a new job which brings some new challenges for him and the team. There is a new face I think we are going to like getting to know, plus an old friend reappears. I loved the ending, but you will have to read the book to find out why! If you've not come across M&H before, you will want to read the whole series I guarantee.
This series gets better and better with each book and that’s quite a feat. I loved the new setting and the new CRT team looking into cold cases. Lots of familiar characters and a few new ones doggedly chasing the clues to solve the case and catch a killer. Superbly well written and expertly narrated by Lee Beddow who gives each character their own voice. A solid 5* book.
