Now, too late for it to matter, Audrey understands at last. The devil of Fairview has been courting her for days, and watching her for much longer than that. The murderer is her boyfriend - and he's been killing on her behalf.
His name is Jack Maddox, but everyone calls him Mad Jack. He's planning a party, where everyone is invited, especially Audrey's tormentors - especially the Facebook 15.
Audrey will have her revenge, whether she wants it or not.
Because, in Miss Drake's class, the devil will have his due.
Writer, teacher, world's best uncle, adoptive dad to Shazam the cat, I am the gatekeeper to your nightmares and dreams, weaver of tales fantastic and unimaginable ... or some stuff like that.
This final installment of Marcus Damanda's "The Devil in Miss Drake's Class" gives the story of Audrey Bales and her tormentors, the "Facebook Fifteen" a satisfying conclusion. The mysterious Jack Maddox engineers a final confrontation for his own purposes. Although the personal story was satisfying, I felt certain plot elements were tied up a little too neatly by government officials who had secrets the rest of us didn't have access to, which felt like an artificial way to bring everything to a tidy conclusion.
What I Loved: Wow this was a crazy way to end an equally crazy series but I mean that in an awesome way. There was so much going on and I have been waiting to see how all of this craziness was going to end. Of course since I just love Audrey so much my heart was at time breaking for her, while other times I was exhilarated for her.
This installment was just a rollercoaster of crazy and creepy all rolled into one. I swear at certain points I was squirming in my seat while reading, but I loved every minute of it. It’s weird because you ultimately kind of know how this is going to end but that still didn’t prepare me everything that happened. I’m pretty sure I had to pick my jaw up off the ground at certain points. I couldn’t put this story down until the very end and I was certainly not disappointed in the least.

Audrey Bales, the victim of a bullying group dubbed “The Facebook Fifteen,” returns in book 3 of the series. Things are not over between her and her bullies, not when a demon is in her life who wants to seek revenge against the fifteen students who terrorized her.
Even though The Facebook Fifteen has fewer members, since some of them mysteriously perished, they are coming after Audrey. What they don’t know is that her boyfriend, the demon, has an intricate plan unfolding. Step by step, it was interesting to see all the plot turns in this novel. The unexpected, grisly, and shocking occur.
This book is intense. I was careful writing this review, since I don’t want to give away too much of book 1 and 2 for those who didn’t read them. This is an amazing horror trilogy with a satisfying ending. I’ll definitely read more from this author.
What an ending to this story. Short, sharp and deliciously dark.
I really worried for Audrey, as Jack's plan wasn't obvious. But whereas the previous tales were about the planning, this one is all about the execution. Literally.
This final volume of the story grabs the reader by the scruff of the neck and hauls you along for the ride. And at the end, leaves you with a light of hope for more for Audrey. A feeling that this time, she may just be ok.
I found this to be a satisfying ending to the trilogy. No bottling out. No white washing. Just the ending that the story deserved.
I received a copy in exchange for an honest review
I think I'm now exhausted. What a wild ride!!! Creepy, moralistic, funny at times, and utterly morbid. I have Salvation State by Marcus Damanda in my TBR pile, too, and hope to get to it this year. Looking forward to it!!
The only thing I will say as a negative point is that these all could have easily been condensed into one stand-alone book. It didn't work as a trilogy for me, and I'm glad I had all three to read in one sitting.
You need a little page turner right now? Well one=click this book! It will have you up all night reading. It will keep you on the edge of your seat or bed. Loved every moment of this book! Now I have to go get the other 2 and read them. This author knows how to keep your attention!
Damanda's third installment in The Devil in Miss Drake's Class trilogy does not disappoint. It keeps the suspense up all the way through until a very gratifying ending!
‘The Devil at Play’ by Marcus Damanda ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 Finished on August 11, 2018 $3.99 on Kindle | $13.08 on Audible
BOOK DESCRIPTION: “Everyone loves the devil until they know him. Until they see him for what he really is.”
Nobody ever did, even as the bodies started to pile up.
Audrey finally understands. But it’s too late. She knows who the devil is, and he’s someone close to her. He’s been watching her for a long, long time, and he’s been killing for her.
He’s planning a party all for Audrey. Everyone is invited, but no one is going to get out alive.
MY REVIEW: Have you ever read an entire series only for the last book to disappoint you? Well, this is not that book! ‘The Devil at Play’ wraps up the Devil in Miss Drake’s Class series with a resounding bang.
This book is more violent and dark than the previous two, but it’s far from gratuitous. Who wouldn’t expect brutality from the devil, right? It’s hard to spook me, but some scenes in this book did exactly that. The revenge scenes are so vivid, it’s hard not to let it get to you. In the best way.
The copy I read had a little afterward in the form of a short story that gave more insight into the background of the “devil” in this series. I really appreciated that. While I felt like, despite the acts he commits, he was a pretty sympathetic character, the inclusion of that story really brought it home. I liked it very much.
Seriously, if you haven’t already, pick up some of Damanda’s work. You will not be disappointed.
Jack has prepared everything. He hopes Audrey will be pleased. Or at least understand. She needs this revenge. She just doesn't know it yet. But he will help her see...if everything goes according to his plan and Audrey survives what the FB 15 have in store for her.
Jessica McEvoy brings nuances to this story that I'm not sure would be seen or felt by reading the material. She is masterful in this genre and I thoroughly enjoyed listening to her. I did listen on 1.5 speed and it was perfect.
Third part was totally not what I expected and I imagined a lot of different endings but I didn't expect this. It was intense, it was dark, it gave me thrills. Step by step while events unravel we get unexpected plot turns and twists which were hard to foresee. I loved the suspense and the painful truth served almost cold similar as the payback. This trilogy is something else I normally read but I loved every part of it.
This is the 6th book I've read written by Marcus Damanda; he has done an excellent job at writing a good book; I will definitely be reading more of his books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.

The devil will get his revenge for her no matter and whether she wants it or not. He is also her boyfriend. The killing has been happening but soon it will all end. Will they all die? Can she stop him? See how she gets on

Wow! What a finish! The third installment in the Devil in Miss Drake's Class really brought the crazy! I read this in one night after finishing book 2. I stayed up way too late reading because I had to see what happened and how the Facebook Fifteen would be...punished...in the end. A fantastic ending to a great book series.
The final satisfying (Oh so satisfying) ending to Audrey's tale. The suspense has been killing me ... but not as brutally and cleverly as our dark hero-villain (or whatever he is) has been killing! Did you ever see a kid getting bullied, or maybe you were the kid being bullied, and you just wanted to see those bullies get what's coming to them? This is the book for you. Did you ever watch a horror movie and not know whether the main character/hero would make it out alive? Welcome to Marcus Damanda's world. I don't want to give any more than that away but you MUST read this series. Damanda is a new literary force in psychological/supernatural horror. Can't wait for the next book!
