What a Town!
Burden Texas is chock full of shifter adventure. The single shifters of Burden never knew what hit them as one by one they succumb to mate fever.
Each story was delicious and entertaining. These guys were so amazing. Once Hurricane Georgia blows into town the fun begins! I enjoyed the entire series.

Amazing independent stand alone but read in a series just made it that much better. Think fair tales written well enough to be believable.
Small unique town with the local hangout bar. You meet the 6 guys friends close enough to be brothers. 2 are brother n 2 are cousins but they all are friends and become this brotherhood and family nothing will break them. All single...all goes well until one finds that soul mates...things change.
Thorn the bar owner a bear shifter feels odd something wrong...he can't figure it out. Allie after years her boyfriend ask her to marry him....she grabs some stuff n runs. He beats, cheats and controls she doesn't what the life her mom had so she runs. She runs out of gas n lands in thorns bar. This girl a little wild, sassy, independent and loyal friend n mate.
Wyatt feels more wild bear then man. Runs a survival retreat. Allie begs her BFF to come visit Georgia. Georgia a CEO and never needs to worry about money. She also a party n organizer n makes people happy. They are oil n water their survival retreat ....scary n funny.
Hutch upstanding n responsible n on CEO to see him learn to let loose. His father dies at 14 n he feels the shoes for his mom n his younger brother. Veronica is the love cal librarians prime n proper doesn't swear and a virgin. Lots in this story....Ronnie becomes like a little sister to Thorn.
Sterling is hutch little brother and he holding onto guilt, hurt and big brother doing to much n him not measuring it up. Sterling does unthinkably a girl is in to revenge sex after finding out her fiance has been cheating the entire time. He makes a enemy for life with the ex fiance. He tries to date ex fiance sister but she shoots him down with a punch to the nuts.....me XED messages n a lot of revelations.
Sam firefighter easy going. Presley leaves a ult family and one of sterlings ex one night stands Presley makes for complicated. Sterling chgs wild. Pres runs. She tries to go back for closer...rough scene.
Matt Sam cousin used by two girls to make their mates jealous. Matt vet and runs his business n rescues ani Al's. Presley his assistant. Presley stumbles on injured n dying bear (shifter). Matt is a closet gay. The rescued bear an out in the open with his sexuality gay man n firefighter....opposites. The are mates n nice Matt changes to jearkface man. It gets ugly before it becomes perfect.
Violence 2 abuses, death, domestic violence. Sex2 sizzling.

Texas
First let me say the books were great I only had 1 problem and if I wasn't a Texan I probably would not have an issue lol. In the stories they all take place in a town out side of Big Bend National park the writer even explains in the first book that is very close to the U.S. Mexico boarder which is very true but then she has them popping over for shopping and lunch in Dallas and back home by dinner lol maybe in other states you can get from one side or one end to the next in hop skip and a jump but sorry folks you can't here in Texas when people ask for rides or how far something is we measure in how many hours it will take us to get there. So just so you know from Big Bend to Dallas is 8 hours one way 533 miles if that helps and I don't know about you but that's not something I can do then shopping have lunch turn around and drive another 8 hrs and be back by dinner lol. Midland Odessa would be closer the writers should have used that but I get it's not as well known as Dallas. Here is something for you and you can Google it El Paso Texas is Closer to California than it is to Dallas Texas. Again books are hot and a great read

What a great series and it has a spin off series. Win win!! The men (and bear shifters) of Burden are all hot, built alpha males and stubborn to boot. Each of them has a different reaction to finding their mate. Several of them I wanted to bash in the head for being scared of love thereby causing their mates hurt, Hutch and Thorn especially. Fortunately what's better than the men is this series is their mates. The mates are feisty, fierce and loyal as they work through their own insecurities and issues. Plus the erotica book club is a winner (Veronica you naughty librarian), where can I find one. The antics they get up to in the bar, usually led (instigated) by Georgia but they're all in and 100% there for each other. And once these fates couples come together, they can't keep their hands off each other. My only regret, the spin off series isn't set in the same town though I'm guessing Connor and his mate Matt will make an appearance - although I'm not sure any town could handle the women of Burden and Hell's Corner together.

Writing was good but I don’t feel like these are true mate romance. These guys fuck around a lot and a couple of them it was implied they fucked others after meeting their mate. Hutch was the worse and I don’t like that she never called him out about the OW first the year he was rejecting her. Stirling was disgusting.
All of these guys made huge mistakes and there was hardly any grovel. I felt like there was confusion here like the author was trying to combine a modern man whore meets his love and reforms vs a shifter mates romance. So it was difficult to believe in any of the love stories. Either commit to a shifter romance or make it your run of the mill story. Mates are about the instant connection love and they no longer want others. This was not the case here. There was silly drama tossed in for example with Sarah and Georgina and they ended up friends it was just all kinda gross. I mean he fucks Sarah on his desk and 4 days later he fucks Georgina and they don’t talk STDs.
Not my cup of tea. I enjoy a good mates story but these on that front was just messy.

Hot shifter series surrounding a small Texas town - Sad to finish & wished for more
I really enjoyed the Bears of Burden series. Each story seemed to be just the right length, with a lot of interaction between the characters featured, while a natural progression and build up.
I rated this 5 stars because I realized there wasn't really anything I would want to change about what was delivered, which is something I believe we all strive for when reading a series. At the end, I was sad to leave Burden Texas, even though there will be a spin off. I hope this is not the last story from this little town.
These stories contained lots of laughter (husband kept asking what I was reading), adult language, HOT intimate scenes, and some violence, but lots of comraderie, between friends, brothers and family (both by blood and chosen).

Y el tipo es un asco. Supo que Roni era su compañera y la rechazo y ojalá se hubiera quedado así, pero no. Coqueteaba, se besaba con otras e intentaba tener sexo con ellas; todo esto lo vio Roni. No entiendo cómo lo perdonó.
Ah y para colmo ella era virgen 🙄.

Definitivamente Sterling es hermano de Hutch, tiene comportamientos tan parecidos: meterse con otras mujeres a pesar de haber encontrado a su compañera.
No me gustó como Ophelia empezó bien, tenia claro porqué no quería estar con Sterling y luego se volvió débil y sin carácter, dejándose mangonear por S. Odié como ella tuvo que disculparse con él, mientras que Sterling jamás le pido disculpas por besarse con otras mujeres.

Great stories
And i mean all of them. They are full of love and angst between mates, and tge all w I nd up getting their Happily Ever Afters. But i must say the one I enjoyed the most was Matt and Cannon's story. I don't normally enjoy a gay mans story because the ones I've read previously have been raunchy in a nasty way. But the author did an amazing job with this one.
Not only did it have the swewt love of mates but also all the pain as Matt was still in the closet about his sexual preferences. It included Matt's past trama at his fathers hands to explain his fears of acceptance by everyone. It had me rooting for them to work things out.

Wonderful Series
I really love these books! They have great stories with different characters. I especially enjoy the way the author keeps all the characters interacting with each other through the six books! There was lots of humor. There was plenty of steamy sex scenes too. And I really enjoyed the way she handled the story of Matt and Canon. Just a great read - all of them! Buy them! Go ahead!

The heroes of these stories are a group of shifters who have been friends a long time, and begin finding their mates. Each story is different from the others, but it's a lot of fun to know the interactions between the men and gradually, their mates. I had read the first two books before getting the boxed set, and was going to spread out the reading of the rest, but I couldn't stop! I highly recommend this set!

Nice quaint little series I thought, nooo. A very good read, yes. 6 stories in 1 book, bonus. Yes it's another series of bear shifters finding their mates, but Candace Ayers does it her way. There is lots of pain, lots of fun, lots of love. All this resulting in one excellent book. If you like shifters you'll love it, I certainly did.

Loved it. Just shows you fate knows what you need even if you don't. It is exciting, suspenseful, hot, fun and so much more. I recommend them. These are very well written and well worth reading. A great series to snuggle and relax and read. Love those bears.

Bears of Burden is one of my favorite series. I'm actually sad to see them end. But they are fun, witty, steamy and well-written. each story has heart and will make you smile, some will even make you cry. This little group of bears will steal your heart!

This great series in one box set is a must. It's witty, it's humorous, it's steamy, and fun filled. Each book is an individually fast paced story, with it's own plot, but they all have drama, adventure and steam.

Amazing bear shifter series that you will enjoy. All six books are about a different bear shifter and their mates. Each book is well written with wonderful storylines and characters. I voluntarily received this book to review for my honest opinion.

Excellent read!
This is my first book by Candace Ayers. Definitely a great choice! This was a collection of stories of the bear shifters from Burden Texas. It was exciting, sexy, heart warming and not without its drama. I look forward to reading more of Candace's books.

This is filled with shifter deliciousness! Their love and mating bond isn't always easy sometimes not fought for as it should be but in the end the meeting bond and love conquers all.

Wish I would have read this one before Helens Corner. But all is good I have now added Candace Ayers as a favortie author. Love the chacaters and the story line. I will be reading all the books as soon as I can. :)

Loved it! The stories has everything you want in a romance about shifters. It has adventure, humor, drama, so many twists and turns, and hot steamy scenes that are not over the top with awesome characters? A must buy and keep them.

Love the Bears of Burden
Each story seemed to be the perfect length for me to pick up and read easily. They each had fully fleshed out characters which I appreciate. The storylines were great. I’m not sure I could pick out a favorite from the series, they were each that good!

I really enjoyed these 6 books and I was so glad that Matt’s story was told. You’re supposed to read this before the SheShifters book but it doesn’t matter. Going to find more books by this author to read!
