Thomas is a healthy, contented and well-loved cat who absolutely hates getting wet.

Mallory is a librarian who rescued Thomas when he was a kitten and loves him dearly.

Tom, alias Thomas A. Katt, or the Current Jerk as Thomas refers to him, is Mallory's boyfriend, a sarcastic, self-absorbed, corrupt police detective.

This story begins at church for the Blessing of the Animals by Saint Expedite who actually is not a real saint. Mallory is holding Thomas waiting in line with Tom for Thomas to receive the blessing. As they are standing in line a statue of St. Expedite suddenly tumbles over onto Thomas and the cross hits Tom and they are both struck unconscious.

Thomas the cat regains consciousness and discovers he now inhabits the body of Tom, the detective, and Tom regains consciousness inhabiting the body of Thomas. The story now becomes a force unto itself with Thomas as the storyteller. We learn the challenges of being a cat trapped in a human body both physically and mentally. As you read you will see that he has maintained some of his feline gracefulness and sly stalking maneuvers which he puts to good use in his quest for Mallory's safety and the reality of the situation he is in.

Mallory is oblivious to the switch that has taken place. She knows something is off because she finds that her boyfriend Tom is very loving and kind and protective of her which is a great transformation from the boyfriend she is used to. She also notices that her cat has changed from a very mellow, loving cat to an angry, spitting monster that bites and scratches everyone and has to be kept sedated for the safety of the Vet, his assistant and anyone that comes in contact with him.

While Thomas is trapped in Tom's body he finds out the horrendous activities the detective and his partner Felix are immersed in. He also discovers that Mallory means nothing more to the detective than a bet to see how long it will take him to seduce her. This Current Jerk is even more evil than he can imagine.

As you follow Thomas thru this story he will comically show you how he handles the everyday human tasks like showering and shaving as well as using his brain to determine the steps he must take to protect and save Mallory. He has a true and everlasting love for her and will protect her at any cost.

All the complications that occur and situations that arise will keep you rooting for Thomas and Mallory. These two characters are so well defined and lovable that you will form a bond with them. The pace of the story is frantic at times and relaxing and loving at others. The writing is powerful and suspenseful while at the same time extremely entertaining and heartwarming. It is so intelligently written and thought provoking that Thomas is a cat that you will never forget. You will be pulled into the story from the moment it starts and hang on tight until the book spits you out.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would recommend it to all readers who like a book that is entertaining, suspenseful, totally unexpected and has a love story mingled in with it. This truly is a Must Read!

On a personal note, I will never again look at my cat the same way after reading this book.

GREAT KITTY CAPER!!

A cat possessing the body of a live human? Yes, and he is a Bad kitty!

This is a heartwarming, powerful, suspenseful, entertaining story that will hold your interest from beginning to end!

Thomas, Mallory’s cat, inhabits the body of her boyfriend, also named Thomas. Her boyfriend is a sarcastic, corrupt detective.

Thomas takes possession of the detective’s body during a mishap at a church. The detective simultaneously inhabits the cat’s body and Thomas is telling the story.

Mallory can’t understand why her sweet, loving cat is now a little monster. Not even the veterinarian is safe. She had rescued Thomas as a kitten and he is bound to return the favor.

You will thoroughly enjoy the way Thomas still maintains a few of his feline traits. Very humorous! One thing missing, he doesn’t have the benefit of the detective’s memories.

Even if you aren’t a cat lover, you will find this a fast paced, enjoyable kitty caper.

Have you ever wanted to date your cat? Then Alias Thomas A. Katt is for you! But seriously, I think Bob Stewart had fun penning this caper. It’s about a girl, her cat, and her sadistic serial-killer cop boyfriend. Of course, she doesn’t know he’s a sadistic serial-killer.

Set in New Orleans in modern times, Thomas the cat and Tom Katt the man switch places when they are walloped by Saint Expedite in a not-so-freak accident in the French Quarter. What follows is part fun/frolic and part suspense/thriller as the cat tries to keep his mistress safe from the man (or vice versa depending on who is in whose body).

Theology: Praying to the Saints

I’m not up on Catholic saintology, so I assume that Saint Expedite is made up as the author claims. This fictitious saint is the cause of the story’s pandemonium, and he keeps turning up to make things interesting.

To quote one the book, “Sometimes it takes The Almighty to knock the cr@p outta ya to get your head on straight.” — If this line bothers you, then you’ll want to steer clear of the book.

Rating: PG-13/R for language, violence, and content

Alias Thomas A. Katt contains grisly murders with moderate graphic description and sexual innuendo. This is certainly not a book I would give to the kiddos.

A note from the author regarding profanity: “As to the street language used in this book; I neither condone it nor use it, but insert it in the spirit of authenticity.” Bob Stewart has done what he said. Profanity and sexual innuendo are there but within character and not gratuitous. If you’re not comfortable watching a rated R movie, then you shouldn’t read Alias Thomas A. Katt.

Social Issues:

Like the Conte of Monte Cristo, Alias Thomas A. Katt is replete with personal vendetta and justice.

On the bright side, our heroine is full of morality—won’t sleep with Tom until they’re married, which is while he’s still around trying to win a bet back at the station—and compassion for people and animals.

Other comments:

Alias Thomas A. Katt is in no way plausible. At times humorous, at other times sinister, it is an entertaining tale written by an experienced author. I especially liked this description,

“Even the spices couldn’t hide the pungent smell of brimstone drifting out of the kitchen, a mixture of the odors of hell and cheese that smelled like dirty gym socks.”

A word of caution to my writer friends: there is one chapter towards the middle of the book that it looks like it was missed during final editing.

Did I mention Tom Katt’s cop partner’s name is Felix?

Alias Thomas A. Katt was a very fun read! Bob Stewart based the cat in the book on his own feline pal. The book has a twist I haven't seen since Disney's, The Shaggy Dog. Thomas the cat is in the middle of being blessed in the church when he suddenly trades places with his owner's boyfriend. He then finds out the cop boyfriend is really a criminal and a murderer. The fur starts to fly when Thomas must figure out a way to protect his beloved mistress, Mallory from the evil person she's falling for. Bob does a wonderful job of showing the human life through the eyes of a kitty cat. The book is based in present day New Orleans and the description and setting are spot on. Loved the book.
