Five thousand five-hundred years old. Forged in fire. He's a god you've forgotten, fighting the monsters that haven't forgotten you.
The Adventures of Edward Volume One tells the thrilling tales of bad joke-loving god Edward Brett and his human best friend Wanda Smith as they travel Great Britain in a campervan, fighting monsters and solving supernatural mysteries.
From defeating a sentient forest to doing battle with the devil, and from going on a road trip with the ghost of Anne Boleyn, to being hunted by demons in a shopping center, Edward and Wanda have never a dull moment in the first volume of this new series.
Laughter, terror, joy, and sadness all await on this paranormal adventure of a lifetime. Are you coming along for the ride?

Loved it, loved it, loved it! If you like NOT normal, quirky, humorous and a little bit educational with a camper van thrown in for good measure then Edward and his traveling companion are just the ticket. Looking forward to book 2- please!
I really enjoyed this book. It is a number of unusual things, in today's increasingly homogenous market. It is original, if not revolutionary, in concept. It is quintessentially rather English, in tone and content. It is gentle, and restrained; even when violent things happen, they are not gratuitous. I look forward to other tales.
I got this on the top 10 free ebooks list on Amazon (when I was watching for mine heh) because it was free and I loved the cover. I started reading it to my wife and we both fell in love with the characters and British wit. With every new adventure we grew to love the characters more, but we also grew slightly disillusioned... when was the story actually going to start? How many of these episodic "mini-stories" do we have to get through before we get to the BIG one. Granted, it was hinted at plenty, but there seemed very little rising action. More like—and this week on Dr. Who.... It gets 3 stars for being so darn likeable. Even if I did stop around the 70% mark. I think if it were a little (lot) more cohesive and a little shorter, it would've been a 5 star for me and my wife. As it is, I may still return to it, but probably not since my TBR shelf continues to grow. Keep writing, Matt! I wanna read the one that's a little less Monty Python and a little more Harry Potter. (Also, I couldn't really get into Dr. Who, so take my opinion with a grain of salt.)
Edward Brett is one of a kind, as is Wanda, and together they are a proper hectic / hilarious duo! This book is brilliantly British, reminding me alot of Doctor Who! So to anyone who is a fan of that, I'd highly recommend this book! Being British myself, I also found it the best thing ever that the final few chapters were set in my home city and other places I frequently visit, adding to my reading experience.
The author has a great imagination and everyone you meet is just so uniquely them, and even the small side characters leave an impression on you.
This book is also currently free on Amazon, which is how I picked it up, so again I'd highly recommend doing so!
A typically low-keyed British fantasy, full of understatement and awful jokes. Mr Brett and Wanda make a great team. They save humanity and the world and then celebrate with a nice cup of tea. True British bulldog spirit. An off-the-wall adventure story that is very entertaining. Well worth the read.
I jumped ship on page 205 so about half way. All you need to know about this book is that it’s the David Tennant version of Doctor Who dealing with the supernatural. There are a lot of bitty episodes without a great deal of logic, narrative arc or much of anything
This could easily have been a Doctor Who fan script from the Tennant/Smith era. That's not a bad thing either as each "episode" brings something new and fun and not too predictable. A very enjoyable read.
