Environmental scientist Zoe Antos’s world has forever been changed.

Unable to get to Zoe, he is committed to keeping the Arrows off her trail. With the help of his older siblings, he plays the part of dutiful son while gathering information to make his escape. Cole will soon learn that freedom may have consequences he never imagined.
Zoe and Cole must find a way to turn the tide in their favor before it crashes down and pulls them under.
Zoe Antos is injured and on the run. Diving right into where the events of Cleansing Rain left off, Crashing Tide finds Zoe and crew trying to survive as a mysterious illness sweeps across the globe. With the eco-terrorist group hot on their heels and stopping at nothing until Zoe is dead, the crew must turn the tide in their favor before it pulls them under.
What I liked: – The twists. I knew they were coming, but they took me by surprise as to how they unfolded. – The setting. I could easily visualize everywhere Zoe and crew went. And I always enjoyed any kind of Michigan setting, living in Michigan myself. – The relationship in between the characters. The relationships—and lack thereof—were stronger. Friends becoming family, family becoming enemies… Ash expertly made it all believable. – The closure. There were certain characters that lacked closure in Cleansing Rain, and I was happy that Ash addressed those in this book. – Blake. I became obsessed with Blake in Cleansing Rain, and that obsession continued all throughout this book. I’ll never stop loving him. Also, Shane is such a sweetheart, and I really like him too. But I absolutely love Blake.
What I didn’t like: – Certain slow-paced everyday life scenes. This is a personal preference, but while I know the point was to show how Zoe and crew adjusted to their new lives, and while Ash made the scenes flow great, at times, I wished for a little more action.
Overall: – Great conclusion to a pre-apocalyptic book! This is one duology you don’t want to miss!
It's not easy surviving world-wide catastrophes and that's just what the characters in book 2 have to do...survive. There's everything a story should have: conflict, connection, and action! Love, love, loved seeing this half of the new world and how everyone copes. Holly did an amazing job bring this duology series to an end. As a reader, I was satisfied. As a writer, I was impressed:)
Crashing Tide is the amazing sequel to Cleansing Rain. With the world and the human population now looking at a near extinction event due to the acts of Zoe's estranged in-laws and The Arrows, Zoe must run for her own life as The Arrows and her would-be mother-in-law hunt her down. Labeled as a terrorist, Zoe and her rag-tag group hop from shelter to shelter, not able to stay long in any one place. Cole, Zoe's fiance, also finds himself in the cross-hairs of his mother and struggles to escape the insanity that has overtaken his family and those he thought he could trust. Backstabbing, double crossing, and twists you'll never expect will keep you wanting to turn over the next page and not set the book down.
I spent an entertaining few hours reading Crashing Tide.
I spent an entertaining few hours reading Crashing Tide. I was excited to find out how our group of characters were going to cope with the world crashing down around them. I would have liked a little more exposition on how the main character dealt with the things that happened to influence her decisions, or maybe it’s just that she was able to forgive and forget a lot easier than myself.
A thrilling conclusion to this duology. The emotional ups and downs faced by the characters drags you along with them. I love how it shows the adaptability of human nature in a crisis. And honestly part of me thinks I would enjoy living in Zoe's new world at the end!
Cleansing Rain and Crashing Tide comprise a very good two-book series, and I’m glad the author decided to tell the full story that way. The main characters were very well developed and believable, and the story really maintained my interest.
Fun story! I’m usually into thriller but I enjoyed this a lot. I’m basing my rating on memory. I read this book a year ago and can still remember everything. In my mind that makes a pretty great book! The Author is a super nice person also which made this book a must read for me.
I liked this one even more than book one! I was so invested and the ending literally made me cry. The epilogue was so sweet and I really hope there is a one shot novella in the future!
This is the sequel to Cleansing Rain. I was happy to see that the story did continue because I didn't feel like it was over yet. It certainly gave the perspective of what would do you do when the world ends? How far do you go to save your family? Who do you trust? It was certainly hard to know any of those answers when you're branded the enemy. The story was intense and I couldn't wait to read what happened next. There was also tragedy and sacrifice. It was certainly hard to read those scenes when the characters died. All in all, I really loved the second book in the duology.
