Wrong, Wright #1

Wrong Car, Wright Guy: Wrong, Wright, Book 1

Rate this book
This grumpy boss will make her pay . . . In the sweetest way.

I was trying to be a good friend. My bestie was dumped unceremoniously, and when I spotted his car, I felt the need to write him a quick note on the hood. You know, just a word or two about what I thought of his actions. No big deal.

Only, it wasn't her ex's car. And it was a big deal. A really big deal.

Because the car I'd inadvertently vandalized was none other than Tanner Wright's.

Tanner Wright, the media mogul. Tanner Wright, the internet voted "hottest man on earth." Tanner Wright, the biggest talk radio host the country has ever known. Tanner Wright . . . my new boss.

I think I might be in trouble.

Contains mature themes.

“I want you fighting with me, and hopefully in time, you’ll fight for me too.”

This was a cute book and I enjoyed reading it. It’s funny and Ruby is quite entertaining with her fiery/spunky personality. I love a good female lead character.

“I’m control and she is chaos.”

Tanner and Ruby are co-host for the radio show called, The Beauty and The Bigot. They have controversial topics they discuss and have people calling in to give their opinion. They always stay neutral, and never say how they actually feel about the topics.

Their relationship develops three months into their show. It’s a roller coaster ride, especially how fast they say I love you but I can dig it. They spend three months thinking wrongly of each other and then find out they were wrong. Which causes them to immediately start being a couple.

“There’s my girl. One of the things I love most about you is how bold and fierce you are. Come out and play with me.”

This book was fun, and easy to read. I can’t tell you how many times I laughed.

“I said keep him fucking happy. Not fuck him happy.”

Okay, I really loved this book.

My only real issue is that once again...it's misleading. The heroine is not a BBW.

If the hero can pick her up, with her wrapping her legs around him, and it's all good....she's not a BBW. She might be a bit chubby, but she's NOT a BBW.

Please stop misleading your audience.

I enjoyed this book. It was funny and entertaining. Could've done without repeating the name of the book in there 3 times, but that's just me 😂

Still by favorite line was: "I said make him fucking happy, not fuck him happy." 😄

Strut of Satisfaction

It might not be classified as a meet-cute,I definitely love how Ruby's path crossed with Tanner's. It's hilarious, and it provides plenty of fodder throughout the book. The love-hate thing they play at is very entertaining, as well.

But, maybe for all my refusal and bluster, I actually want to matter to Tanner Wright? Even if it’s just as an adversary. Or someone you could hate-fuck against a wall.
-- Ruby Casey

With the exception of the last few chapters, I really like this couple. When things explode, it's epic and unexpected. I didn't like how Ruby handled the fallout, letting what happened affect her self-worth the way she did. For as much as I love the HEA, the forgiving of transgressions was far too quick and easy.

I read this as part of the So Wrong, It's Wright collection.

Such a good story. I absolutely adore when there’s good banter and arguments between love interests, and this was filled to the brim with exactly that.
It was kind of an enemies to lovers type of story, and the tension was smokin hot. And when they finally collided, it was explosive.
Absolutely loved Megan’s newest book. Can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.

I am voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book.

Ruby thought she was defending her friend when whilst on a night out with friends she spots her best friends ex’s car, her revenge drawing him a nice portrait on his Porsche hood. Only the gods weren’t smiling down on her antics as she soon discovers it’s not her friends ex car but a man who can make and break pretty much anyone’s career. And things on get worse when it becomes clear that Tanner Wright is her new boss and he’s intending to make her life a living hell. She tries to ignore the fact that he’s the most gorgeous man on the planet and there is even documentation to prove it and stays professional until things between them combust into something neither of them ever expected. But just when it looks like she’s found the man she’s meant to love that things fall apart and he believes she’s betrayed him. Is this the end of their romance?

Tanner Wright is well aware of his standing and status within the media, he’s where he wants to be in life but he never expected Ruby, finding her drawing on his car with her keys a little bit past drunk was a shock but what shocks him more is how he can’t get her out of his head. He needs to make her pay for what she did and for getting in his head so when he discovers she works at the same radio station as he does he manages to get her as his assistant. Ruby rises to every one of his ploys with her sassy attitude and never holding back and soon he can’t deny the feelings she’s inspired in him. Giving on to their attraction he never thought he would fall in love but when it looks like she’s betrayed him he calls time on everything. But when the truth comes out will Ruby give him a chance to make it up her or by not listening to her cost him the one person to love him for him?

Tanner is not a likeable character for a lot of the book but Ruby is sassy, strong and well prepared to stand her ground. This book is definitely a roller coaster of ups and downs, secrets and lies that will keep you reading from start to finish. Highly recommended read and well worth 4.5*.

Mixed bag

It was good albeit predictable, it just became so so after 60% as it was so scripted as to what was happening that I skipped around without missing a beat. Still will read the next one as hoping for better and the characters are interesting.

When Ruby meets Tanner Wright she just happens to be drawing a dick on his Porsche with her keys. Is it hate or love at first sight I was not sure. Then Ruby finds out that Tanner is her new boss and she will be working close with him. As her boss he was such a dick in the beginning of the book I really hated him. I wanted to reach in the book and beat the sh-- out of him. I have never felt that way about a guy in a book before and as they finally started working closer together and really got to know each other sparks started to really fly. And I started to really like Tanner and was rooting for him and Ruby. I loved this book. As I was reading it I was brought into the book itself and really enjoyed the ride. Tanner and Ruby finally get smart and get together but this book was a twisting, eye opening love hate book that I could not put down. This was a really great book especially since I started out hating Tanner in the beginning and changed my mind through out the book . This was a roller coaster ride for me as a reader and I loved it.

Excellent romance and great characters
I loved the various dialogues, and antagonisms between Ruby and Tanner. The way they meet is quite funny, as is the revenge that follows from Tanner.
Their story is a roller coaster ride of emotions, passing through hatred, love, disgust, disdain, but which always comes down to romance and these characters who are extremely well defined.
I also really liked the smart side of making the reader think about social issues through the Tanner radio show.

2.5 stars. It started out strong, but got a little muddy. Some of the writing was amazing and other elements seemed childish? It’s a shorter story, but also seemed too long at times… I skimmed through a lot of it and was able to follow the book just fine.

Wrong Car, Wright Guy by Megan Wade is a fun, sassy romance. Ruby and Tanner go from enemies to lovers at a radio station. I liked the twist that made their HEA precarious. Megan Wade writes a good book!

I liked the story; it was entertaining, I liked the premise of them working at a radio station, and starting as enemies to lovers. Ruby accidentally keys the wrong car; it also turns out that the hot guy that owns the wrong car, works at the same radio station Ruby does. Tanner likes to rile Ruby up and wants her badly, but he tries to push her away and deny it because they work together. I just didn’t really connect with either main character; their personalities were annoying at times for me. Also, this book has discuss about some societal issues, and I just wasn’t really in the mood for that type of read. Good points were made, but still not something I wanted to read at the time. I did like Ruby’s sassiness at times, but I didn’t like that she would simper after Tanner right after her was a jerk to her. Especially, when the book’s big contention between the characters happens, I wasn’t a fan of how that was handled. They do have moments of sweetness, and they are cute together when they are romantic with each other. Plus, there’s some good steam. I’m not sure if there will be a book about Ruby’s friend, but I think I’ll skip that one. Ruby’s friend is the naive type that dates/sleeps with lots of loser men, and I just didn’t connect with her character in this book. Overall, I liked this read, but didn’t love it.

Wrong Car, Mr.Right Guy😍💕

When I read this blurb I had to get this book, but it wasn't out yet...sad face. I just one click it! So when it drop on my kindle, I was beyond excited!!! I went straight into reading it. It was so beautiful, captivating, funny and emotional. I love me some Rudy, baby! Let me tell you... She is freaking best friend ever! Rudy is a fierce, smart, caring, and beautiful. She has a little self -esteem issues because she is more curvy woman. She is outgoing and stand on her own. I was rooting for her throughout the story. Tanner is sexy specimen of a man. He is outspoken, smart, funny, and caring. He showed his softer side in the beginning. I did like how he redeem himself for his mistakes. He is patient person and calm. I love his character. Megan you outdid yourself on this story. I love the writing. You get so caught up in the story it's like you right there with each character every step of the way. Beautiful words. Amazing work Megan Wade!😘😘

Megan Wade has written a 5-star book. This is the story of Ruby and Tanner. Ruby has gone out with her best friend Tahlia, her brother Theo, and his boyfriend Darren for Tahlia's birthday. Tahlia's boyfriend had broken up with her the night before and this makes Ruby mad. She sees a car that she asks Tahlia if it was her ex-boyfriend's car. Tahlia tells her it was. Ruby goes and keyed the car and she gets caught. Ruby tells the guy about Tahlia and her ex. She tells the guy she will pay to get the car fixed and gives him her card. The next day when she goes into work at the radio station, she is asked "Why are you here?' She is told that she is now the new personal assistant to Tanner Wright. She knows nothing about the new job. When she goes back to work later that day, she sees the guy whose car she keyed the night before. At first, things between Ruby and Tanner are not good. They argue about most things. One day Ruby gets stuck inside the studio while Tanner is on the air and he gets her on the radio with him. This was a good day for the show. She becomes his co-host and this seems to be good for them. They start seeing each other and things are going fine. Theo and Darren have moved into Ruby"s apartment when their apartment has a problem with bugs. Ruby was going to be moving in with Tanner and he comes to get her stuff but things are not good. He has an article about his half-sister. Tanner blames Ruby for the article but it was Tahlia who told Nick about Camille. Tanner breaks up with Ruby over the article and leaves her. It has been a while since she has seen anyone from the station and she is now working at Starbucks with Andy. He tells her that his girlfriend Karen is going to be coming in and it turns out that Karen was her assistant from the radio station. After Karen talks to Ruby, she goes back to work and she lets Tanner have it and quits her job. Tanner thinks about all that Karen had told him and later that day, he goes to Ruby's apartment. He met at the door by Tahlia and she tells him about Nick and she is the reason the article was written. Tahlia tells him that Ruby is over at Theo's and Darren's. He goes over there to talk to Ruby.
Will Ruby and Tanner get back together?
This was a wonderful book and I would recommend it to anyone.

Not every woman meets the man of their dreams after keying a giant penis on the front of his car. Ruby is definitely one of a kind! Her character is by far the most entertaining plus sized heroine I've read in a while. She always has something smart to say and 9/10 can't stop herself from saying it.

Tanner isn't so bad himself...sculpted blonde god that he is. After Ruby keys his car in a case of mistaken car-identity, he pulls strings to get her promoted to his PA at the radio station he just bought. Tanner reminds me of a big brother harassing his younger sister. Sending Ruby out to search Manhattan for a brand of lozenges that don't exist is his adult version of pulling her pig tails. And that's just the beginning.

I enjoyed a lot about this book.
-It's set in a radio station, something we don't read a lot about. The unusual setting was entertaining.
-The book is full length! It's not the typical BBW instalove romance designed to be read in an hour. We genuinely get to know these characters.
-Their first real date is to a drag show! Ha!
-The sex scenes are steamy! In fact these two go at it so heavy I worry about them...medically! LOL
-Supporting characters are fun and enhance the story. Darren is a trip...I can't even walk in high heels as well as him! And Tanner's sister is so endearing. I loved seeing Tanner interact with her, it made me fall in love with him even more.
-The best part though is the banter between Ruby and Tanner. Megan Wade has written some EXCEPTIONAL internal and external dialogue. I laughed hysterically while reading it.

It's definitely worth checking out. Can't wait to see what else Megan is going to put out there :)

Well, darn. This was a 5 star read up until when the shoe finally drops. The angst, banter, frustration and teasing was so good! I loved all of that. I laughed out loud a few times during the first few chapters. But the moment they cleared up the misunderstanding about Ruby having a boyfriend and suddenly were all over each other like white on rice, everything just felt too easy and rushed.

Knowing there was still something big that was going to happen, I kept waiting to see what it would be and how they’d overcome. The shoe didn’t just drop, it exploded. I had no problem with what the actual issue was but I definitely didn’t like how it was handled. It’s insane to me that after 3 months of absolutely no communication Ruby would forgive Tanner so easily. It’s also insane to me that Tanner wouldn’t even think about his actions or try to clear things up, with someone he supposedly wanted to marry, a day or two after the big blow up.

Then, we have a supporting character that we don’t know too much about but enough, suddenly going from demure and timid to blunt and aggressive. It felt like the author was trying to wrap things up and couldn’t come up with a better idea. It just didn’t feel right. Tanner needed to do wayyyyyy more groveling. Ruby needed to make him work harder for her love again.

Obviously, this was a big issue for me and effected my overall enjoyment of the story. So, it went from a 5 star read to a 3.5.

This was honestly so cute!!

Seriously, I was blushing and smiling the whole time.

Tanner and Ruby are literally the best couple everr! They have such a fun dynamic and banter that overrules many of my favorite enemies to lover couples.

I personally really enjoyed was the body positivity aspect of it all, but what's notable is the way we also see Ruby struggling.

People have to know that the road to body positivity and self love isn't easy or straight.
It's very rocky and there are lows just as many highs.

I love that Tanner helped Ruby feel that confidence when she was low on it herself.

It's a short sweet book, with very little drama which I really really enjoyed.

I haven't read a book this sweet and refreshing for quite some time now.

It's also superr spicy so there's that.
There's a house tour scene that's just muah.

And the whole radio host concept is brilliant, I've never read about it before so it definitely had me hooked.

And the other characters too were really well written, Theo, Darren, Karen, Andy and of course Tahlia (whose book is next in the series btw).

As much as I loved this book, I don't think I'm reading the second book because I'm not sure if I'm ready to let go of Ruby and Tanner as leads yet.

Either way, it's such a perfect book. You have to read it. Highly recommend

I absolutely LOVED Megan Wade's fantabulous novel, Wrong Car, Wright Guy! I cannot recommend this book enough. From Tanner and Ruby's hilarious meet-cute - you know, that ol' chestnut, where beautiful drunk curvy girl keys a vulgar image into the hood of hot rich guy's Porsche, accidentally thinking the car belongs to her bestie's horrible ex - this story heads into the stratosphere of amazing. Ruby's horror escalates when she walks into work the following Monday and discovers she has been reassigned to be the new PA at the radio station where she works for the new shock jock - who turns out to be the guy whose car she vandalized. Tanner and Ruby's story is a well-written, entertaining rom-com. It is steamy and sexy, hilarious and emotional, and then you add some of the best supporting characters around (OMG, Theo, Darren, Tahlia and Camille! ... even good ol' Gerry!), and this is a novel I couldn't put down.

I cannot recommend Wrong Car, Wright Guy enough! It completely satisfies the incomparable Megan Wade's "Sugar Promise" and then some, with Tanner and Ruby completely becoming relationship goals. Grab your copy now and I promise you will not be sorry. (I am also soooooo excited for Wrong Room, Wright Girl, Tahlia and Ash's story next!)

Sugar Promise & High heatguaranteed.

This story was captivating, funny, and emotional, all at the same time. Ruby has to be one of my favorite characters. Her personality quirks had me laughing out long and, gasping, 'She did not just do that!" Ruby is beyond outspoken, so when she 🔑 a car, she thinks it is her best friend's ex's. It's just par for the course that turns out the car belongs to her new boss.
Tanner is sexy specimen of a man. He is outspoken, smart, funny, and caring. Before Ruby, he rarely showed his softer side. He basically only showed it with his sister Camille.
I loved his interaction with Ruby when he came from visiting Camille to discover she, a stranger, had just keyed a huge dick into the hood of his car. He could have been irate, screaming and cursing about how much the car was worth and how much it would cost to fix it. Instead, he remained calm. Ruby already felt bad enough when she realized she had keyed the wrong car. He chose not to make her feel worse at that moment.

I also loved Theo, Darren/Coco, Tahlia, and Karen. They weren't the hero and Heroine of this story, but they felt like they were just as important. They were all the "main characters." Without them, this story just would not have worked.

Run! If you want to get a lecture on gay guys, here's your book. So the loud-mouthed chubby chick JUDGES her boss and KNOWS he's a bigot. So she can be judgey and not allow other people to have an opinion, but she is not a bigot. But because he allows people to have an opinion on talk-back radio, he is a bigot. Glad, we had that explained. This book has got to be written by a man. It's a long drawn out lecture on gay guys, drag queens, transgender in women's sport! There's no sex, except the sleazy boss kissing her on the back when he does up her zip. I got half way through and had had enough. So painful. I wanted to read a romance book and got some weird agenda pushed on me. Sadly, this had so much potential. The story has no plot whatsoever. And the story from our hero's point of view is sleazy in the extreme. It just put me off. She's a loud-mouth dumb bi-atch. And he's a rich boy who is weak and gives into his father so that he can keep his inheritance. So many bad points and no good points. Oh, I should say it was well written, except from the fact that 'she' didn't know how to use 'whom'. This book is definitely written by a man as no woman would write this political drivel.

Ruby was out with her brother, his boyfriend and her best friend when she does something she thought was to honor her friend being dumped by an idiot. However she was at someone else's car and damaged it. She gave the guy her business car and promised to fix it somehow and they all parted ways. The next day at work she found out that she got a new job and needed to see her supervisor. She went from working a sound board to being a personal assistant with more pay. Not understanding why until she shows up for work with her new boss and its the guy whose car she damaged. Tanner is drawn to Ruby and likes to rile her up. So each work day he plans something special for her to have to track down for him whether its real or imaginary. Sparks fly between them and soon neither can keep their hands off the other. Will this affect their work? Can they be together?

This is a great story that will draw you in from the first chapter and leave you wanting more with the last one. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.
