This is the ‘it’s me and not the book’ case. Too sweet for me, the characters couldn’t hold my interest, too many narrations and inner dialogues, dnf @ 17%.

My first listen by Abby Brooks. I wasn't sure what to expect. I'm so glad I listened. Alex & Evie are everything! So many twists & turns. I wasn't sure where this journey was going to end up. Loved hearing about 2 authors & their journey in writing books & finding each other. Excellent narration by Connor Crais & Stella Hunter.

I cannot recommend this book

This book had a kind of interesting beginning. The dialogue between Evie and her BFF seems to be happening in fast forward. The conversation seemed forced and not natural. The first interactions between Evie and Alex were kind if entertaining. Once they decide to date, it gets rather boring. The steamy scenes were weak and uninspired.

I actually didn't think it was so horrible Alex had been sneaking in to use the kitchen. Her aunt had asked him to look after the house, after all. Then, he accidentally tells a group of friends a secret of hers. I would feel like he did and wouldn't understand why she wouldn't want others to be angry on her behalf. However, I would have remembered that she told me I was only the 2nd person who knew, so I wouldn't have told a group like he did. I also wouldn't find it that horrible if he put it in a book, under a completely unrelated name, but he should ask her first. However, what he said to her was almost unforgivable.

In the end, she apologizes to him for yelling at him about putting the secret in the book. She absolutely didn't need to apologize. Authors too often have the h apologize when it isn't their fault! I hate this. Why are female Authors writing such weak women?

So, from about 57% of the book to the end, the book was unpleasant. I skipped a chapter or two during the time they were broken up.

I did like the supporting characters in the small town. I'm not sure I liked her BFF.

I've read a couple of books by this author before and they were just average. The blurb for this one seemed interesting, so I gave her another shot. I probably won't read any books by her in the future unless they are personally recommended by someone I trust.

The book wasn't the most well written, either.

Fearless by Abby Brooks was sweet and passionate. This was my first book by this author, and I overall enjoyed her style of writing. I had the opportunity to listen to the audio of the book. I loved that it was performed duet style by Stella Hunter and Connor Crais.

Evie is an aspiring writer who has been burned bad in the past. Looking for a fresh start she moves to a new town , Wilderness Landing, to start over and hopefully find her inspiration. Instead she finds a ghost...or at least that is what she thinks. Alexander Prescott is a writer and needs a new muse. He finds that in Evie and instantly offers her a dream job! When these two connect they have amazing chemistry, and I absolutely fell in love with the dialogue between these two characters.

Stella Hunter and Connor Crais were fabulous in this duet narration. Their performance along with the characters dialogue flowed seamlessly throughout the entire novel. Stella was the perfect Evie really showing off her vulnerable side. Connor performed Alexander as a confident writer who knew exactly what he wanted in life. I really enjoyed both narrator's performances.

If you love duet narration and a small town romance, then you must listen or read this book!

This book is good. This is the first book I've read by the author too and this is not going to be my last. I devoured Alex & Evie’s story so fast. They have great chemistry and sexy, flirty banter. I love the bonus epilogue so much!

In order for me to really love a book, I need to relate to the heroine, admire her, route for her, and laugh and cry with her. Abby Brooks picked the perfect title for this book as our heroine, Eveline “Evie” McAllister, is FEARLESS. She is someone you will want to be friends with in real life and you will feel every emotion right along side of her as she struggles with losing her job and her despicable boyfriend, and bravely starts a new life for herself in New England.

With the encouragement of her awesome BFF, Amelia Brown, and having nothing to lose, they take off on an adventure to claim Evie’s inheritance. Evie’s Aunt Ruth left her Sugar Maple Hill, an estate in Wildrose Landing, a quaint beach town where all the neighbors know your name and your business!

Abby’s writing always draws me in. She is so descriptive and gives such attention to the smallest of details making the book come to life. Evie and our hero, Alexander Prescott, had not one but two epic meet cutes– years apart, and little did they know that their future lives would be forever interconnected.

Evie was courageous and a fighter. She was betrayed in the worst way possible by someone she trusted, picked herself up, and was determined to make her dream of being a published author come true. Sure she cried in a bottle of tequila with her bestie, but when she was done, she made a plan. A plan that did not include a man! Evie was a gifted writer with no income, a giant house to maintain, and did not need the distraction of her super sexy single next door neighbor.

Alex happens to be an internationally famous mystery writer with secrets of his own. He also has an eye for our sweet heroine and I loved the slow burn of how they danced around their attraction, and tried to keep things professional, but couldn’t keep their hands off of each other. I loved Alex! Loved his dog Morgan; his sister, Izzy, and their close relationship; his friends and how they tried to set him straight, and how this once reclusive man let down his guard and opened his heart to love.

Evie and Alex have so much in common, including their desire for one another, and are a perfect match. I loved how they made each other better and how protective he was of her, especially when she shared what happened with her evil ex. Their characters were so relatable and real as they each made mistakes and assumptions that they had to atone for which will make you feel all their pain and angst. There are also lots of laughs, a bit of a mystery, and many witty interactions with their nosy neighbors, friends, and family.

Loved their smoking hot chemistry and sexy times, and how he is humble to ask for help when needed and admit when he was wrong. Loved his big grand gesture and how their love story ended! And readers will be treated to a bonus epilogue into the future. Insert heart and fire emogies here.

Fearless has everything you could ever want in a romance and there is no cliffhanger. Shameless is next featuring Amelia and single dad Jack, and I for one will be first in line to read it.

ALC received in exchange of an honest review.

Fearless by Abby Brooks is such a beautiful story. I loved everything about it. The characters, the plot, the setting, all of it. I became immersed in Evie and Alex immediately. Both unique characters with incredible chemistry and easy banter.

Evie is an aspiring author. She is new in town as she has been left a house in her great aunt’s will but little does she know what awaits her next door. Evie has been betrayed and is shy and reserved, making it difficult for her to trust men but there is something about her new neighbour she cannot resist. It might have something to do with the fact that he is one of her favourite authors, and upon meeting he hits her up with an offer she cannot refuse.

Alexander is a successful writer but is on a writing deadline, and with a pesky editor that is on his case to find his muse he knows from the moment he meets Evie she is it. I loved Alex’s charm and charisma. He is confident, and brings out a fearlessness in Evie that she did not know she had in her and the chemistry and heat between them is undeniable.

I love small town romances and Wildrose Landing is definitely I place I want to revisit again and again. I loved the introduction of some side characters and hope to see their books next.

Listening to this story told in duet narration by Connor Crais and Stella Hunter was fantastic. Their voices pair well together, and their story telling flowed effortlessly.

4 I see you Stars!

I've been meaning to pick up Ms.Brooks' work for the longest time now. The second that Fearless caught my eye I knew it had to be the first book of hers that I picked up. I had to finish reading it in one sitting. I really enjoyed this story!

Evie and Alex's journey had a great kind of uniqueness to it! These two captured my attention and didn't let go. Gosh, I felt so much with these two and I really liked how they brought out my emotions. I connected with both of them.

I loved what the other characters brought to the story as well!

This story tackles how life can throw the unexpected our way and how sometimes that can be the best thing!

With Fearless, Ms.Brooks created such a fantastic story! Her writing touched my book loving heart. I'm kicking myself for not having picked up her work sooner but oh how happy I am that I finally got to with Fearless! I can't wait for the next Wildrose Landing book! 💛

"This is my first book by Abby and it was such a wonderful story. Admittedly it did take me a few chapters to get into Abby’s writing style, but I honestly think this was more me than her as I read a lot of books and I jumped straight in after finishing the one before it.
Small town romances are fast becoming a favorite genre for me. I try to get my hands on as many as I can and the benefit of this is finding new authors. I see you Abby - and I will definitely be reading more from you going forward.
Alex and Evie are perfect together. Both so similar yet different as well. It was truly a joy to read their story. And one other bonus to small town romances is usually the supporting characters. In this case now knowing who the next couple are I am intrigued as to how their story will unfold as Abby has played this duo close to her chest. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book."

A brand new small town series takes us to Wildrose Landing. In a refreshing twist on the couch surfing heroine, who has lost the boyfriend and the job. Evie has landed on her best friend's couch. However, she has options and a best friend who keeps it honest. Amelia encourages Evie to be fearless, and together they go to New England to check into a home left to Evie by her Aunt.

Alexander Prescott is a best selling author but behind on his latest manuscript. He needs to find his muse, switch things up a bit. Hence the walk on a rainy night where he and Evie meet.

We get all the emotions as Evie navigates her new look at life, say yes, and be fearless! The chemistry and steam between Evie and Alex is perfect. The gradual journey Evie takes to grow is believable. The secondary characters are wonderful. The inner dialog is priceless!

I am looking forward to the future with this series.

I received an advanced copy from the Author; this is my voluntary review.

Yet another sweet and amazing love story from one of my favorites! Honestly, she never disappoints! Fearless was the newest book to Abby’s ever growing collection! It was funny, touching, and full of passion.

Evie decided it was time to take her life back. She would not let her define her. Moving to small town was just the thing she needed. Until she met him...her next door neighbor. Would he be the distraction she needed or would he prove all men are the same?

Alex was on a deadline but he had no words. That may not seem like a big deal, but when you are a bestselling author, it could kill your career. When a new neighbor moved in, she seemed to be the answer, but would it be too good to last?

It had all the feels! I loved watching the two of them together, their connection was perfect! I hope we get to see Alex and Evie again!! I was not ready to say goodbye!

Was eine Überraschung! Die Story ist so so so schön! Small village, cozy, tolle Nebencharktere. Nichts neues, auch vorhersehbar, aber es war einfach total schön. Der Spice ist wenig und mähhhh, aber konnte man locker überspringen.
Im großen und ganzen eine wohlfühl Liebesgeschichte.

I know I’m not going to find another Love Hypothesis no matter how long I look for it. And that hope may have done this book a disfavor. Maybe before, I’d have loved this, called it the bee’s elbows (because it does have flaws that would keep it from being the perfection of bee’s knees). I’m not sure if I’ll read the next book but who knows. If it’s on KU I probably will.

*Audiobook review*

What do you do if you're a writer who can no longer write?

Evie is feeling pretty low on life, so after inheriting a house during a particularly rough patch, she decides to start over. A long car ride with her best friend and a near accident later she finds herself settling into her new home. Alex, Evie's new neighbour, is facing a deadline that keeps creeping closer and closer. The problem is he is a writer who just can't find the words.

Fearless was a sweet romance by a new-to-me author. I received this audio as an ALC. I enjoyed Evie's character as the sweet and slightly naïve writer who has lost confidence in herself. She is self-deprecating, surprisingly funny, and trying to be brave in her new life. Alex is a great character. He comes across as a good guy but he definitely has his issues including a knack for omitting important information and pushing people away. My favourite thing about his character is he frequently finds himself "narrating" his life through his internal dialogue - it's pretty cute.

This was a duet narration which I LOVE and was very happy with Stella and Connor's work in it. They both perform in the same range and flow well together which makes it a pleasant experience hearing the back and forth conversation. It's easy to imagine the characters sitting and having a discussion (as opposed to narrators whose voices clash - then it really sounds like 2 people recording separately in isolation). I loved the cocky, quick witted Alex that Connor conveys and the smart and sweet Evie we get from Stella. I also really enjoyed Stella as Izzy - can we get her book next please?

The writing was quite interesting to me as it felt like Evie was written as a "clean" romance character at the beginning (i.e. very little swearing if at all, use of milder expressions like "Heck friggin yes" and "Jerky jerk face") and slowly changes ("Magic Hoo-ha" needs to be stitched on a pillow), but Alex was almost in a different book at times as he frequently flowed with what appeared to be a lack of filter (hilarious, not at all complaining about that) and there were definitely some sex scenes that weren't FTB. It didn't feel like these were specifically just character differences, but actually felt at parts like there were completely different writing styles happening in the story or the type of book wasn't nailed down. I'm not sure the 2 styles where successfully meshed 100% but it still worked out ok. I would consider this a "Clean-ish" or "Sex-lite" story. It was a little cheesy in spots but I don't mind it as it seems to suit the characters (especially Evie), and it was still very enjoyable overall.

Some of my favourite things about this book: 1) The use of time jumps at the end of the story was well done - I'm not a fan of them unless used properly, but Abby did a great job with them moving the story and still allowing for a proper resolution 2) I really enjoyed the end of the book - so often it feels like the endings are rushed and we feel ripped off, but not in this case 3) The phrase "Be nice to you" is spoken in this but I'm not going to say when or by whom - it's just very needed in the moment and I really felt it spoke a lot about the characters in that scene. Well said - definitely needs to be on a pillow. 4/5 story, 4.5/5 narration.

This is a new series by the author and features a small town of Wildrose Landing. In the story we meet the Prescott family and this is Alexander Prescott's story. He is a very successful author who currently has writers block but when he visits his now deceased neighbor's house he has no problem writing.

All that changes when fellow writer, Evie comes to town as she is his now deceased neighbor's niece. Evie and her best friend Amelia arrive in town to move into her aunts house since she has lost her latest boyfriend, her current job and is homeless as well.

She falls hard for Wildrose and the people that live there and then Alex offers her a job. But why did he offer her the job? I am not spoiling his grand writing plan and how to get his creativity going.

I had a tough time liking Alex. First it was how he plans to use Evie. But then he treats her really badly. Honest I would have liked to seen Evie get more of a backbone and not chase after Alex more. Also in the make up scene, she accepts how he treated way too easy in my book.

Aside from that, this was a fast read and I enjoyed getting to know the characters in Wildrose and look forward to their story in future books.

I have enjoyed the authors other series and books but I did not love Evie and Alex in this story. By the time the I Love you hits and they make up. The story pretty much ends. I would have liked to see more about how they make it all work in the future but I guess thats for future stories.

I did love the supporting characters from Alex's sister to Amelia and Jack. The town sounds really exciting and fun and I really want to learn more about the supporting characters. I did think it was a great introduction to the small town and the characters in coming books.

I received a free ARC copy of this book from the author prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Sometimes I fall in love with one particular character in a book and other times I fall in love with everything in a book. The latter is the case with Fearless by Abby Brooks. I loved Evie and Alex but also their friends, families and even their pets (who wouldn’t love Morgan, the doggiest dog that ever dogged). The eccentric town of Wildrose Landing, where the neighbors are nosy yet supportive, stole my heart, too.

Evie is someone who touches your heart and makes you want to cheer her on. Despite feeling defeated after losing both her job and her terrible boyfriend, she takes a chance at a new life in Wildrose Landing. She meets Alex, her sexy neighbor and a successful author, on her very first night in town and he soon offers her a job. Saying yes to new experiences is her new approach to life and it helps her become fearless along the way. She actually ends up helping Alex just as much as he helps her. There was so much chemistry between them and I loved watching their journey together. I rooted for Evie to find her strength and also to find love again. Their story was made all the more enjoyable by the perfect narration from Stella Hunter and Connor Crais. The emotion in Stella’s voice made me tear up as I felt Evie’s heartache at times. Not only was Connor super swoony as Alex, he also had me laughing out loud as he voiced Morgan.

The ending, and especially the epilogue, left a huge smile on my face and were simply perfect! I didn’t want this book to end, but when it did my first thought was that I want more stories about the people of Wildrose Landing….and that I need more books from Abby Brooks. Fearless is a sweet, funny and steamy love story that shouldn’t be missed!

Evie McAllister felt lost in life after simultaneously losing her boyfriend and her job. But fate had a way of inserting itself in her life when Evie inherits her deceased Aunt’s house in Wildrose Landing. So Evie leaves the city to find herself and maybe focus on the writing career she’s always dreamed of.

That’s where Evie literally runs into her neighbor, Alex Prescott, who just so happens to be a bestselling author and one of Evie’s idols. It doesn’t help Evie any that he’s completely gorgeous and tempts her when she knows she needs to stay far away from romance. But Alex offers her a job and the two of them start spending every day together, their relationship bordering somewhere between platonic and more.

But when their relationship veers into romance territory, neither of them know how to handle the feelings coming straight for them. And if they aren’t careful, they both could end up broken-hearted.

Fearless by Abby Brooks is book 1 in the Wildrose Landing series. I originally picked up this book because of this sexy cover and while I enjoyed the story, I don’t think this cover fit the romance. Abby’s writing is witty and full of sarcastic humor, which I liked a lot. This was a quirky romance that bordered on too much at times. I liked the plot and the characters overall—I just wanted to like them more from start to finish. I did love how the romance wrapped up and I’m looking forward to the future books in the series, as Abby setup the other couples well! 3.5/5 stars.

Fearless is the perfect title for this book. A story that is so sweet and powerful that will make you fall in love with Abby’s style if you never read her or continue to enjoy her beautiful, heartwarming books if you have read her before.

Evie and Alex’s story is phenomenal. Evie has a lot of issues with her self esteem after going through a lot of disappointments. She lives with her crazy, positive and holistic bestie, Amelia! Their fun together with all the tequila shots are a fun addition to this must read.

Alex is the famous writer that is struggling with writers block. He lives is a small town that is full of gossip and nosy neighbors. Things are not looking too good for him until this beautiful neighbor moves in next door to not only throw a wrench on his writing but also to awaken his romantic feelings.
The banter and flirting between them is very exciting. You will never look at slippery socks again without LOL.
The side characters are a great balance to keep things entertaining and meaningful. And let’s not forget Morgan, the dog that probably needs to get his own book! He’s that good!

Looking forward to the next book in the series so I can continue to enjoy these relatable and feel real characters that I would want to have as friends.

***** AUDIOBOOK REVIEW *****

This is my first book from this Author and it was delightful from the very beginning! Fearless is a beautiful story with great characters! Alex and Evie are at different places in their lives. She has lost her boyfriend, her job, her home, and her motivation and confidence to write. Encouraged by her adorably quirky best friend, Evie has set her goal to be fearless and start over in Wildrose Landing. Alex is a super sexy, super adorable brilliant author who has vowed to remain alone and is struggling to find inspiration. I really enjoyed the story from the very beginning and had a permagrin the whole time. I hope we get to see more stories centered in this quirky small town with excellent personalities! Hint - Inquiring minds would like to know what happens to Austen and Jude… I listened a few times and definitely recommend this story full of humor, sex, love, and characters who grow through change and learn from past mistakes.

I am narrator motivated, so Stella and Connor are some of my favorites! They always work so well together, and in duet we are able to experience the banter and get the most out of their performances! Duet done right is my jam! I received this #AdvancedListenerCopy in exchange for an honest review, and I look forward to more audiobooks by this Author!

Fearless is the perfect blend of humor, heart, and steam! Eveline (Evie) McAllister is trying to reinvent herself after being taken advanage of by her boyfriend and then losing her job and apartment too! She is tired of being timid and is determined to be fearless. She has always wanted to be an author, so she decides to move to the home her Aunt left her in the small, quirky community of Wildrose Landing, to start her new life and follow her passion. To her surprise, her new sexy neighbor happens to be a famous author who she admires and is attracted to. Alexander (Alex) Prescott is suffering with writer's block and needs Evie's help to meet his deadline. They realize they can help each other meet their goals, so Evie starts working for Alex. They have so much in common, and their attraction is undeniable, and they fall fast and hard for each other. They have so much fun together, despit the pressures of meddling friends and family, and quirky, nosy townsfolk. But all too soon Alex's history starts to haunt him, and the only way to protect the woman he loves is to push her away, breaking both their hearts. Alex and Evie are so great together, he is tortured but also so sweet and swoony, and Evie is so strong, brave and resilient.
Stella Hunter and Connor Crais did a great job bringing these characters and story to life. They delivered all the wit, emotion, and steam and I was totally lost in their performance. I really enjoyed listening to this fun, touching, sweet and steamy romance!

Fearless by Abby Brooks
A Wildrose Landing Romance.

I’m new to this author and loved this small town romance. I listened to the audiobook version with Connor Crais and Stella Hunter performed duet style.

Such a refreshing listen. Low angst full of wonderful characters set in a small town where everyone knows your business but also care about you.

Stella Hunter was Evie, a beaten down aspiring author who finds herself moving to Wilderness Landing and the home left to get by her late aunt, and showcased her vulnerability and strength perfectly. She had me laughing and crying as I felt everything Evie did. It was awesome seeing her Phoenix rise up coming to realize her abilities as an author in her own right.

Connor Crais is awesome as the happy friendly Alexander Prescott the successful author and the caring brother and son; and even helped show Alex’s vulnerabilities in his trials to see he wasn’t like his father.

Even the other characters were refreshing to see the interaction between them with Evie and Alex and left me with hopes for more books on them.

This book has everything I love in small town romance. It just left me with a huge smile on my face and the duet style performance was amazing. You won’t want to miss this book.

Fearless is the perfect blend of humor , heart and steam Fearless was such a great book with real characters that you can relate to so easily , they not only have real emotions but just like us , they have inner battles, things they are struggling with in their lives . Their are so many beautiful lessons in this book like even if we are struggling to find ourselves, Love and help are not weaknesses , that it is okay to need the support and love of another person .Alex and Evie in their own ways are both lost , and at a turning point in their lives .for Evie it is finding the confidence in herself she has somehow lost . And for Alex it is the ability to finish his work that he is struggling with. Deciding it is time for herself To start clean and try being more confident/ fearless in her life Evje end up living next door to Alex . Without saying to much ,the sparks and the chemistry, between these two are just off the charts , from here on out fireworks ensue and the story just takes you on the ride of your life . I adored every second of this amazing story .

From the first page I was sucked in I just loved Evie as well as her bestie Amelia, oh how I want an Amelia of my own not only with how she supports Evie but the way she talks about Alex when he isn't around as well as when he is!!! Alex shows as very self assured and confident but his writers block is is getting to the point of his book deal going under so learning of what he has been doing to try and get past in crack me up especially with how it leads to a drinking game and plenty of rumor's, not to mention close calls. Evie and Alex are the perfect match for each other with the banter they have as well as the steaming attraction and how they make each other share more of their life and vulnerabilities, but while Evie becomes more of her old confident self Alex does something he thinks is best and well ... you have to read it to find out!
Be ready for loads of laughs including full on belly laughs as well as cute pets, new friends to make, a town you want to visit, some betrayal and an attraction so hot it should burn the pages. Ugh and then the tease of the next book... I want it now now now!!!

Evie is an aspiring author whose life has been kicking quite a bit so she really needs a new start. Her aunt left her a house in Wilderness Landing so she's going to step out in faith to go there and start over. Alexander is an author with writer's block and he doesn't know what he's going to do. Little does he know that the woman who almost hit him while he was walking his dog would end up being his neighbor then his muse. He offers her a job & she takes it so as they start spending more & more time together, their friendship is starting to heat up a bit. It also helped that Evie is starting to become more & more fearless with each new day which was a big part of why I loved it so hard! Alex & Evie are great people so I was cheering them on quickly, but then there's the cast of supporting characters that add in even more goodness, including a dog who tried to steal the show. In order to see how it all plays out, you know what to do as I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I have been following Abby's writing since the beginning of her journey. This book is perhaps the consolidation of her great skills. I found in this story a more mature author, someone "fearless" like her female character. The story is the proof that at least once in our lives, we would all like to be fearless like Evie. She is the epitome of the good girl who needs to take that the leap of faith and go on without regrets. Here, she finds Alex as the perfect buddy to achieve her goal. On the other hand, while concentrated on her purpose, she really doesn't realize that their camaraderie is directing towards something deeper. At last the entire plot gets more interesting and the steam is guaranteed. A book from which to get an inspiration. A delightful and funny story with supporting characters that are unpreventable.

Evie and Alex are writers, both not writing for different reasons. Alex is published and suffering from writer’s block; and Evie’s had a string of bad luck and needed a fresh start. She moves into an amazing house that was left to her by her aunt. On her way to Wildrose Landing, Evie almost runs into Alex while he walks his dog out in the rain. There’s chemistry when they first meet each other but they think they wouldn’t see each other anymore after that encounter. The next day though, they find out that they are neighbors. Alex is most inspired when he writes while in the house that Evie now owns, and so in desperation to get access into the house, he offers Evie a job to be his assistant of sorts.

The audio version is narrated in duet by Stella Hunter and Connor Crais. I thought this was probably some of their best work together. Their voices fit Evie and Alex so well and the flow and pace between then just made it sound so natural.

Abby Brooks is a new-to-me author and I really like how Fearless was written. This has the perfect combination of funny and angst. It deals with some heartbreaking things but then add to it haunted houses and drinking games, it makes for a good read altogether. The secondary characters were also amazing and I can’t wait to follow them in their own stories.

I absolutely love the friendship between Evie & Amelia. The shy quiet one & the wild adventurous one, they balance each other out. I was definitely loving the tequila shots & peaked my interest even more. My kind of girls!! Poor Evie was getting hit after hit but she decided that she was going to get up and be fearless. She moved into a house that her great aunt left her and is now neighbors with a writer that she admires, Alex. He is having writer's block and can only come up with words when he's around Evie. He becomes her new boss in her new town so they try to fight the chemistry that they have but you can't fight the feelings forever. My heart dropped with how Evie's past and present were showing up in her life. She definitely showed strength without even knowing it. The book is sweet, cute & funny. The playful flirting that they have towards each other with a few punches here and there, Morgan the dog, Larry the cat & the "haunted house" is what makes this book.

This is my first book by Abby and it was such a wonderful story.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.
