My first BRAE book. This was a quick, cute second chance. I loved the setting of his story took place and L.M Bennett painted the scenery, characters, & their emotions so well. Now I need an update, trying to see how they’re doing!?! lol
L.M Bennett, I was not aware of your pen game & I’m not mad at it. A Sagittarius x Scorpio entanglement of desire? From something as simplistic as making one move…as simple as a hair appointment, shifted their futures. This had a poetic element of desire that left me smiling for them.
I love reading Black sapphic books that feel real. I was left wanting more for their story. Effortlessly done.
I saw my friend give this book a great review and remembered I downloaded this book from BRAE, so it took me no time to decide to move this up and read it. It was so worth the read! The author did a phenomenal job, building on emotional and physical intimacy between the characters. Even the unspoken words and silence between the two was beautifully captivating and said a thousand words. This book was sensual and vulnerable, and everything I needed. I have since downloaded more books by the author and look forward to reading more. Sapphic love at its core.
This sapphic exes-to-lovers short is straight-up one of the best stories I've read since beginning my journey to get through all the freebies I've been hoarding on my Kindle.
It's emotional, it gets spicy, the writing is wonderful, and the hair care scenes are so beautifully written. Bonus points for the stunning cover.
Highly recommend if you're looking for a short, sapphic read!
4 stars. Fatima and Hendrix are exes and there was some unresolved issues between them. Fatima needs a retwist so books an appointment with Hendrix. I thought this was fantastic to be so short and it was really, really soothing. The hair care and how it was described was so relaxing and gave me the feeling of going to a beauty shop and getting my hair done. That sounds weird to mention but the way Bennett wrote that was so vivid. I liked the characters and how self aware they were. The chemistry between them was sizzling and I thought the sex scene was tender and lovely. I thoroughly enjoyed this and I’m always impressed when authors are able to tell great stories in such short amount of pages. Also, that cover is gorgeous! Love it.
Who knew you could turn the act of getting your hair done into something so intimate because you felt their connection in every act whether words were used or not. Only thing I did not like is it was to short!! It almost read like poetry it was sexy even before we got to the scene. I could visualize everything. Fatima & Hendrix debate a second chance even with the issues from before lingering. Their connection was intense and I loved every moment of it. Short sapphic love story worth the read. 5⭐️
when it's time for a retwist, it's time for a retailer even if it means your ex is the only one with availability. And sometimes words aren't enough to explain, remember, move forward, or heal. This is the case with Fatima and Hendrix. Their conversation reveals the distance between them, but their hearts bring them back together again.
Short and sweet. Inevitable and raw. Honest and accepting. Exciting and familiar. Reconnections and possibilities. Unspoken but understood. Left wanting more.
A really impressive amount of story building, character development, tenderness, and angst in just 25 pages - hoping to find more stories like this one.
”Free enough to stay and give myself over to this. To her, and what she is offering. I'd be a damn fool to turn her down twice.
There's power in a retwist y'all! In this particular, it was needed for reconciliation. That there are times when something is just too strong and it takes a restart to get things in order.

I love a cute spin the block situation and this was just that. They were not only able to rekindle things but also communicate the issue of what happened in the first place. Who knew a last minute appointment could have such a happy ending ahhhh oooppp!!!
