All either of them wants for Christmas are some jingle bells, to deck the halls, and for everyone to stop finding them dates.
Macie Zimmerman would love to get married and start a family. But after so much searching, she's sick of having hope that something will work out. All she needs is a good six months of no dating—time she could spend building her business, Paws and Relax, and hanging out with the animals who show her all the love she needs—to be able to face it again. If only she can keep everyone in town from trying to find her a husband.
High school teacher Aaron Hall plans to never get married. He got engaged once, and it turned out as awful as his parents' marriage had. But that doesn't stop all his married friends from trying to convince him otherwise. And worst of all, his students are now determined to find him a wife before the end of the school year.
This Christmas, Macie and Aaron are teaming up to make everyone believe they're dating each other so they'll quit trying to line them up with others. But as this fake relationship takes them to holiday parties, events around town, and his school's winter formal, and "fake" starts to feel "real", can they overcome the obstacles in their way?

Come make yourself at home in Nestled Hollow where community becomes family and the romances are sweet, swoony, and chock-full of chemistry. Each interconnected stand-alone novel has its own happily ever after.
Meg Easton is the USA Today bestselling author of contemporary romances and romantic comedies with fun, memorable, swoon-worthy characters, and settings you’ll want to pack up and move to. She lives at the foot of a mountain with her name on it (or at least one letter of her name) in Utah. She loves gardening, bike riding, baking, swimming before the sun rises, and spending time with her husband and three kids.
We follow Aaron and Macie who start fake dating because Aaron doesn't want to get married, yet everyone in his life (including his high school students) is trying to set him up, and Macie has decided to stay single for 6 months. Silly reason, but hey, it's fake dating!
This is when the cuteness begins. The dates they go on are so entertaining. They each have events that require a plus one so they accompany each other. The great thing was they weren't shy with actually acting like a couple. They held hands, spoke sweetly to each other, and texted each other for daily updates. I loved it! Communication, people.
There was a touch of faith content too! Didn't see that coming! But Macie goes to church and her family asks if she has prayed about her relationship. Pleasantly surprised.
It was totally clean. There were 2 mild kiss scenes. No language. Great Christmas recommendation!
This was very sweet and cute. It was filled with fake dating and Christmas tidings along with lots of cute furry animals.
It started off a little on the slow but once more Christmas activities were going on with Marie’s family then it picked up in the romance department. The chemistry was building between Aaron and Macie. There were really some really romantic moments that made me swoon. I loved the scene were he was taking care of her when she was sick. Their romance just flowed in a really nice way after that.
This had great moments of humor that I was expecting. Of course the whole furry friends added another level of fun and funny moments, but I think the funniest thing was that Aaron’s students were trying to set up Aaron on a date and even set up a profile on a dating app. I just thought it was hilarious.
I loved the family in this. Macie’s family was just so sweet and welcoming when Aaron came into the fray. The family just showed all the love in the world to both of them. There were just some really great heart to hearts in this one. Plus there were funny moments as well.

I have to say that I really enjoy fake boyfriend/girlfriend stories. You know, when the characters are done with dating and everyone wants to set them up with someone they know so the characters take drastic measure and find someone to fake a relationship with. Yep! I think they're so much fun. I get a kick out of and to a small degree some embarrassment knowing the scrapes they're going to have, the binds they find themselves in as well as how creative they become to make it look real and think they're fooling everyone around them, when really they're just lying to themselves because they usually find someone who is pretty awesome to step in as their fake significant other.
Take the fake boyfriend/girlfriend trope and sprinkle in a sweet Christmas time story, mix in some mischievous dogs, toss in a handful of meddling students, and add several dashes of a big family and shake it all up for a cute snow globe story that is sure to warm your heart. I thoroughly enjoyed all of the different characters in this book. Aaron's friends (and possibly yes his family), Aaron's students and Brooke's family. They all added such a fun dimension to the story. And Brooke's parents' traditions and relationship were very endearing. I can see why Brooke was holding out hope for meeting someone who would truly love her. And Aaron, I can definitely see his reluctance and pull towards Brooke and a real relationship.
Lots of fun moments and silly scenes. A couple scenes that pull on your heart strings and have you aching for the pain characters have felt. But all of these scenes and emotions have created a story that pulls you right in and has you wanting more and more. Come cheer on Brooke and Aaron with all of their family and friends! You won't be disappointed!

My own personal copy. I also listened to the audiobook.
This is such an adorable book! I love the fake dating trope, and Easton has written a fun, laugh out loud, charming one! This is the perfect book to read at Christmas time. I absolutely loved the characters. They're very well-written and easy to get to know. I loved the cozy, small town vibe and the sweet romance. I highly recommend it!
While the story wasn't the most believable (his students making him an online dating profile? That was a bit much) , it was still fun with a very heart-warming view of marriage & family.
It engaged me right away and kept me immersed, even with a few eye-rolling moments along the way, right up to the end.
Great when you're looking for the diversion of a lighthearted Christmas romance!
This was such a fun book to read at Christmastime! I'm lucky I found it, because it's been the gateway to Meg Easton's books, which I really enjoy. They are completely clean, sweet romances.
This one had two things I love: fake dating, and pets - especially dogs! (I love that a Goldendoodle was involved 😆) I also REALLY loved the Zimmerman family, and how seriously they take family. It was beautiful to see all their traditions and the way they purposefully and continually worked to build relationships. It was so nice to see Aaron interact with their family and come to realize that another way to "do family" was possible, different from the way he grew up.
Nestled Hollow is such a fully realized place - the author has mentioned that she gave it a TON of thought before even starting to write the books, and it shows. It is ideal and idyllic, but feels real.
Aaron and Macie don’t want the stress of being alone during the holiday when everyone wants to set them up so they fake date each other knowing they each have completely different goals. Macie wants to marry and start a family after taking a break from dating. Aaron is a school teacher whose students want to see him married. But after seeing his parents disastrous marriage he never wants to marry. Except Macie May just change his views on marriage. They make a cute couple at Christmas. Great characters.
Macie decides she's not going to date for six months after the last terrible blind date and runs into a teacher who does not want to get married at all and is tired of being set up on dates, so they decide to pretend date through the holidays to save each other from being set up and as they get to know each other and each other's families, they may change their minds about dating and marriage. Fun story and cute characters.
Christmas at the End of Main Street by Meg Easton (A Nestled Hollow Romance Book 2) All either of them wants for Christmas are some jingle bells, to deck the halls, and for everyone to stop finding them dates. But as this fake relationship takes them to holiday parties, events around town, and his school's winter formal, and "fake" starts to feel "real," can they overcome the obstacles in their way? This is Macie Zimmerman and Aaron Hall's story. Macie sat in the middle of her bedroom floor, putting on one of her running shoes, when her black lab pushed his way right into her space. “Reese! I can’t reach my shoelaces!” The dog nuzzled his face into her neck, his feet scrambling to sit on her lap. Sometimes it seemed like he didn’t even realize he wasn’t a puppy. Macie gave up trying to tie her shoes and rubbed her fingers behind his ears and under his collar, just as he liked. As soon as the discussion in the faculty lunchroom at Nestled Hollow High turned to dating, Aaron made a show of noticing the time and excusing himself. His group of friends already gave him enough grief about it— he didn’t need any more. Actually, the bell was seconds from ringing, and if it weren’t for the topic change, he very well could have kept socializing and been late to class. He stopped by the copy room and picked up his stack, then hurried toward his classroom as quickly as he could while the hallways emptied. I recommend reading. Second Chance on the Corner of Main More than Friends in the Middle of Main Love Again at the Heart of Main
Christmas at the End of Main Street is part of a series, but it can be read as a standalone. This is a story about a fake relationship turning into a real one. This is Macie and Aaron's story.
Macie Zimmerman is tired of dating the wrong men and is just as tired of everyone in town trying to set her up on dates. She is the last single one in her family and the pressure to find "the one" is getting overwhelming. She decides that she is going to take a 6-month hiatus from dating and focus on her business, Paws and Relax. That will give her the time she needs to develop a solid business plan and then she can focus on love, marriage and her happily ever after. A run in with a stranger may change all of her plans.
Aaron Hall is a high school teacher who loves his job and his students. He has all he needs, but his friends and students have a different plan for him. They don't know that he had a bad experience with love and his parents' marriage was not a forever kind of relationship which has made him ward off any idea of marriage in his future. A run in with a local woman turns into a plan to get everyone off of his case.
Macie and Aaron meet again by chance, and they team up to make everyone believe they're dating each other, so everyone will stop trying to fix them up on dates. They start out by going to friend parties, town parties, Macie's family party, and his school's winter formal. As they spend more time together what started out as fake starts to feel very real.
They are wonderful together and they understand each other's reasons for not wanting to be in relationships. They develop a real friendship that quickly starts turning into more. Macie shows Aaron that not all women are horrible and selfish, and Aaron shows Macie that her relationship checklist is actually attainable. I love these two together and how their relationship builds quickly, but realistically. They show each other that true love is something that does exist, you just have to be willing to open your heart and stop searching so hard. This is a clean, sweet romance with good characters throughout. Overall ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Ok this was probably the most hallmark-like book I’ve read this Christmas season. Checked all the boxes of one perfectly. And that’s what I was going for! Not too much drama and two super sweet main characters. It’s really cheesy but has cute scenes and moments haha. I really felt the holiday spirit while reading this book too! Cool traditions and games that the characters played. The setting is actually super cool and fun! There are 7 brothers and sisters and a mom and dad. The parents bought a huge amount of property in a small town and all the siblings built homes on the outside of the property and then they all share one huge backyard in the middle!! So all the little cousins can play with each other all the time! This reminds me of how I grew up. My dad has 7 siblings in his fam and they all live in the same city and I loved playing with my cousins all the time. This is a really chill fake dating book. Not really that much drama or inner thoughts for a change and I like that. I like how they went into the fake dating equally not interested in each other. They both were just teammates fist bumping. Does fake dating really happen in real life? I am so curious. I haven’t had any happen in my life… The high school students were a fun part of it too. They had to chaperone the high school dance and it was hilarious seeing it through a adults perspective. Ok I love this town and the activities they do for Christmas. I have read a lot of Christmas books this year and this one has really gotten me in the Christmas spirit the most! I want to do a present buying scavenger hunt for kids that won’t get presents! That sounds like a blast! And a giant tree lighting thing too! (Like whoville!) I love that Aaron was most impressed with Macies genuineness. It’s such a great quality. Fear is the opposite of faith. No fear!!! Awww! I can’t believe he proposed bahahah. So cheesy and fast but that’s why you read these books!
Macie Zimmerman is living her dream: small-town business owner on Main Street, Paws and Relax is succeeding, and she gets to hang out with animals all day. Everything is going right except the one thing she wants most- a husband and family. The whole town is out to find her a husband too. It is all to much. Enter Aaron Hall who loves teaching his high schoolers but after past failed relationships he is sworn to never date again. With his high schoolers and her small town friends trying to find both a match these two pair up to get a break from it all. As they enjoy the Christmas season as each other's fake dates, what will they do when everything starts feeling a little too real?
Meg Easton has perfected small town U.S.A. in her Nestled Hollow romance series. With beautiful traditions, citizens who all know each other, and small businesses, the romance has the perfect place to spark. Macie is a well-developed character with small flaws yet a charming personality and Aaron Hall is the swoon-worthy high school teacher that every teenage girl longs after. The story moved quickly and this was such a fun read. Perfect tension matched with sweet, sweet kisses. This is definitely sweet romance.
Macie and Aaron decide to take a break from relationships, so to get her family and friends and his students off their backs about finding someone they fake date each other. After his experiences with his divorced parents and a cheating ex-finance Aaron was very much anti-relationship. Macie wants to marry and have a family like her siblings someday, but she is exhausted after kissing so many frogs. They discover that they work well together and have that special spark, but can they overcome their insecurities to really be together? I loved Macie’s Paws and Relax business that allowed people, who can’t have pets or aren’t sure if they want to take on the commitment the opportunity to spend time with them. Since I recently lost my dog, I’m not sure if my heart wants to take on another, but I would love to visit a place like that. Aaron was a great teacher who really cares about his students enough to think about their stress levels and how Macie’s business could help them. I loved her wonder parents, crazy siblings and their precocious children, and the idea of the linked stockings. This was a sweet and funny Hallmark movie like Christmas romance.
Macie can't believe it, how did her dog Lola get away from her and then cause the man on his bicycle to have an accident? Even though he assures her he's ok she sees him limping before getting back on his bike, ouch! At the end of the day she's at her sister's ice cream shop "A Cherry on Top" when he walks in. She finally finds out his name and as they are talking they realize they have a lot in common. One being they both are done with dating for now at least. So they decide to "fake" date. It's a win/win for them both. It takes the pressure off and gets her family and his friends and students to take a step back. Only Aaron and Macie don't expect to have such chemistry. From their first "date" they seem to feel something. What is it? What happens when obstacles get in the way? What happens when Macie figures out who he is? Will it change everything for better or worse? Only one way to find out, read this great story by Meg Easton. You wont be disappointed!
The story unfolds in the small town of Nestled Hollow and this is the second one in the series, but it can be read as a stand alone. (Though we have a glimpse of Whitney, Eli and Brooke from Book 1.) Macie owns a pet shop and desperately wants to get married. But she cannot seem to find the right guy. Aaron lives in a town near by but is teaching in the local High school. Seeing his family imploding and having a bitter engagement himself, he is determined to never get married. So when they meet by chance Aaron and Macie decide to fake a relationship so that everyone can get off their backs for a while. But fake dating only shows them how perfect they are for each other. The question is will they be willing to overcome their fears of commitment. Narrative: 3rd person following Macie and Aaron Religion: mild Sensuality: clean, only kissing
Christmas at the End of Main Street is a super cute holiday read. Macie and Aaron both have meddlesome people in their lives who want to see them with someone... but both have their reasons for not wanting to be in a relationship. To get people to back off with their matchmaking ways, they decide to pretend to be a couple. I absolutely love fake dating, of course... and I love meddlesome family members/friends just as much! In this one, it was actually Aaron's high school students who were doing the meddling and even signing him up for a dating app, which I thought was a really fun little spin. Macie's family was the absolute best and I loved seeing all their holiday festivities! I couldn't get enough of these two together and really enjoyed their story.
**I received a complimentary copy for consideration. All opinions are my own.
A sweet fake love becomes real. Macie wants to take 6 months off from dating after her last disappointing blind date. But everyone else wants to keep setting her up on blind dates. Andy does not want to get married but his students but dating app on his phone so he can meet someone and get married by the end of the year. They bump into each other and on the second time they find each other at the same place. They find out they both want to stop dating so they agree to fake date each other for 3 months and heart breaking break up. Which will give them another 3 months to grieve. They find that have allot in common, are attracted to each other and her family set a great example of happy marriages. Will fake become real?
Macie wants find a husband and have a family but she keeps picking the wrong guys. So she decides to take a break from looking for a husband for 6 months. Her family and friends keep trying to fix her up. She was walking her dogs one morning and her dog got tangled up with a bicycle rider and caused him to wreck. She apologized to him and he said everything was fine.
Adam made it to school despite his bicycle accident to find out his class set him on a dating site. Let's just say that Adam wasn't too happy about the profile but he wasn't too unhappy with his class because he knows they meant well.
I really enjoyed this book but feel it should come with a warning label: Minor accidents when we least expect them could result in major happiness later.
Fun concept, heart warming characters, with when does the next side character’s story come out—lingering aftertaste.
I enjoyed this story and the characters that it’s peopled with. Some of the activities made me want to gather friends together to try. I think a Paws and Relax businesses would be a welcome addition in real life. There were some wonderful turn of phrases and some good truths. For me the story would have been much richer if the family matters talk had been coupled with why family matters, why faith matters...... because God of the creator of the universe designed families and loves us. Faith is important but not just faith in anything. Faith in Jesus and his grace and love for us.
Christmas time...when magic happens and couoles fall in love. Especially when they’re determined not to fall! This is the situation that high school AP History teacher, Aaron, and pet therapy owner, Macie, find themselves. He’s determined never to marry and she’s taking a break from dating until ‘the one’ comes along. They agree to fake date to avoid the blind dates and fixups. Will they confess that they may have found ‘the one’ or will they walk away? Cute story with some doggie kisses thrown in. I accepted a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This was a cute audio about two individuals that seemingly wanted different things in their lives. Macie Zimmerman, owner of Paw and Relax, wishes to get married and have kids, while high school teacher Aaron Hall has no plans of ever getting married. His parents tumultuous marriage was enough to discourage him from ever taking that route. Doesn’t mean his friends and students aren’t pushing him to find someone. Macie needs a few months to dedicate to her business before looking for her someone special. So these two decide the best answer for both is to have a fake relationship. But what happens when feelings develop? This was another entertaining story in the series.
This was such a fun story. It is easy to feel the pressure both Macie and Aaron felt as they were pressured by friends and family to find a date and settle down. The idea they have is to be "fake dating" to ease the words from everyone in their small town. This turns out to backfire if they only want to have a fake relationship. Their romance builds and it was a fun read for me. I enjoy all things Christmas, this is a cute fun read. I read this during the summer and I still enjoyed the feelings of Christmas and the magic that surrounds the holiday. If you enjoy Christmas and the season of giving with laughter and love, this is the book for you!
4.5 Stars. I listened to the audio version of this book narrated by Liz Krane. The narration was perfect.
This is a fake relationship trope. Macie and Aaron decide to fake date to get everybody off their backs about dating. They had some really cute events they participated in for the holiday season that really got them to know each other and bring them closer together. The story was fun and perfect for a December read.
Macie and Aaron were both very fun characters. They were actually great matches for each other (they just had to be convinced of that). This sweet clean romance was very entertaining.
I was gifted a copy of this audiobook. All thoughts are my own.
I had a free copy of this book, but this is my voluntary and honest opinion. Macie Zimmerman runs Paws and Relax a service where folks hang out and relax with animals. She would like to marry and have a family, but is sick of dating and having it not work out. High School teacher Aaron Hall is not looking for a relationship, but everyone is trying to fix him up including his students. When they meet they decide to fake date to get everyone off their backs. In the process of convincing everyone they’re dating, they fall for each other. This book features themes of self-concept, and trust. An uplifting book that’s worth reading.
So cute! I loved Macie and Aaron both individually and together. The fake dating concept was done well and the connection felt so strong. Their dates were super cute and the friends and family were fantastic. There were so many adorable, swoony moments, and watching Aaron open up to real love and family was heartwarming.
I want to meet Macie’s family. They are #familygoals.
Overall, this was an absolutely wonderful Christmas read and I need to read more from this author, especially in this series. I read this second installment first and didn’t feel that I was missing anything, so I believe they can be easily read as standalones.
This was an ok read/listen. There is no option for the audiobook on Goodreads, but there is one. So Macy comes from a family of 7 kids. Family get togethers are crazy as there are 35 of them between the adults and all of her siblings spouses and children. All except Macy. Everyone tries finding her "the one" but it never works out. Just when she swears off dating, along comes a guy who never wants to get married. They meet (cute) and decide they should fake date each other so their friends and family will stop with the setups. You know what happens from here, pretty cookie cutter but fun to listen to.
I want to be part of the huge Zimmerman family. They have a lot of interesting fun at Christmas. This is a great story about Macie Zimmerman and Aaron Hall agreeing to fake dating so everyone will leave them alone and quit truing to fix them up on dates. I loved everything about the book, the characters, the story, and the town. This is now one of my favorite Christmas stories and one that I will want to read again. I am so glad there is another book coming out in the series! I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
