One decision can have fatal consequences…

Detective Rider’s life is spiraling. After nearly dying in the line of duty, now he’s saddled with two babysitters as partners and an attitude problem his captain won’t let slide. Just when he thinks his luck can’t get any worse, he’s thrown a case involving a woman who shattered his heart years ago—and the best friend he was forced to leave behind.

Junelle Swanson thought she’d moved on after Rider walked away. Until her dog is brutally killed and threatening letters start arriving, giving her no choice but to trust the man who broke her heart. She just wishes her brother Jason, who welcomes his former best friend back with open arms, wouldn’t ask uncomfortable questions about the past that Rider isn’t ready to answer.

As the investigation intensifies, clues surface, pointing to a sinister threat lurking closer than they imagined. With a killer watching their every move and their past feelings complicating everything, Rider and Junelle must confront both their painful past and a deadly present before they become the next victims.

I’m a USA Today Bestselling Author that loves to write contemporary romance and romantic suspense novels, although I am partial to romantic suspense. I even dabble in paranormal. Honestly, I love anything that has to do with romance. As long as there's a happy ending, I'm a happy camper. And insta-love…yes, please! I love baseball (Go Twins!) and creating awesome crafts. I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, working in that field for several years before I became a stay-at-home mom. I have a few more amazing stories in the works. All right, another Amanda Siegrist novel and book three, Fatal Consequences, in the Consequences series. This will be Rider and Junelle’s story. Each book can stand alone, but that doesn’t matter to me. I will read anything Amanda writes.

Fatal Consequences is all about second chances. Can they overcome the present threat, allowing them to work through their issues?

Characters from previous books in the series make an appearance. I love when that happens. Especially when I’m able to visit and get some laughs from them. Amanda has created some fascinating characters that put their lives on the line for each other. No wimps here.

Romantic Suspense novels most always have characters with communication issues and I do enjoy watching them work out the kinks to create happy ever afters. And that’s what you will find at the end of Amanda Siegrist novels.

In Amanda Siegrist’s latest romantic suspense “Fatal Consequences”, Rider is a hardworking and dedicated police detective who always gets his man. Working in law enforcement is one of the hardest jobs in the world and comes with unbelievable stress, cases you would like to forget, and nightmares that won’t go away. Rider has one of those cases which keeps him up at night and affects how he currently approaches his job. Especially concerning him right now was the threat and danger surrounding Junelle, the only woman he had ever loved. She had been in his life forever and for a brief moment in time, she was his. They had a misunderstanding that was never resolved and now that she needed him again, he knew he had to investigate the case without letting his feelings get in the way. He can’t possibly keep Junelle safe if he continues to dwell on the past. Junelle would give anything to be with Rider again but his all-business attitude was keeping her firmly in the friend zone. All she ever wanted was a happily ever after for herself, her brother Jason, and for Rider. If by some chance the time is right for them to be together, then so be it. If not, they could at least be friends and she could finally get on with her life. Junelle could tell that her troubles were taking a toll on him, but she did feel safer with Rider involved with finding her stalker. She had no idea what she could have done to make someone so mad at her and she can’t shake the feeling that more danger was in store for all of them!!

This is book 3 of A Consequences Novel series. I have read and enjoyed both of the previous books, and at the time was hoping there would be a book about Rider. This is Rider's story, but I found that it didn't grip me the way the other books had. Book 2 came out almost a year ago, so perhaps I would have enjoyed this more if I'd read books 1 & 2 more recently, however I just didn't resonate with Rider and Junelle as a couple. I found Junelle's assumptions and repeated mistakes in communicating with Rider frustrating, and at times irritating, which detracted from my enjoyment. Having said that, the suspenseful plot was interesting, I enjoyed the many cameos from previous characters, especially Tate and Stromberg, and was relieved to reach a happy ending for Rider and his 'June Bug'.

Fatal Consequencesis te third book in A Consequences series. The novel is a psychological romantic suspense story that combines elements of forced proximity, second chance, angst, scarred hero, sassy heroine, and romance to create an emotional and engaging narrative. The author expertly balances thriller elements, romance, and mystery to keep the readers engaged until the end. The writing style is well-developed, with memorable characters and a carefully paced storyline that draws readers in from the start. What sets this book apart is its emotional depth, intricate plot and complex narrative full of twists and turns, while delivering angsty second chance romance. It is like watching Hallmark Mystery but grittier and darker and more satisfying.

Rider is a hardworking and dedicated detective. His life is in chaos after a near-death experience. Just when he thinks things can't get worse, he's assigned to investigate a case involving an old flame, Junelle Swanson, whose dog was brutally killed and she's receiving threatening letters. Junelle thought she had forgotten Rider, but now the old feelings resurfaced because she needed his help to uncover the truth behind the threats. As they dig deeper into the case, they discover a sinister threat lurking closer than they think, and their past feelings are making it harder to focus on the investigation. With a killer watching their every move and a deadly present looming, Rider and Junelle must confront their painful past and come out unscathed. As the synopsis suggests: One decision can have fatal consequences… How far will one detective go to protect the woman he never stopped loving? Rider and Junelle are complex and flawed characters with a deep emotional connection. Despite their troubled pasts and unresolved issues, they find comfort and strength in each other. Rider and Junelle's build-up amidst danger and the intricate mystery were crafted skillfully with slow-building tension, angst, romance, and suspense.

Amanda Siegrist's writing style effectively pulls the readers into the storyline, creating a dark and mysterious world that keeps readers on their toes and an unputdownable psychological thriller with a breathtaking detective mystery, second chances and forced proximity, making it a must-read.

This is book three in A Consequences Noel Series and it is Rider and Junelle’s story. Junelle and Rider have history because she had been in love with for as long as she can remember and when Rider decided to tell her that he had feelings for her she was excited that her wish had come true and they ended up having a secret relationship and Rider was her first in every single way and just when things were going really well Junelle thought that Rider had betrayed her in the most humiliating way leaving her devastated but unfortunately things were not what they seemed and even though Rider couldn’t tell her what was going on Junelle didn’t give him a chance to explain anything and walked away out of his life and even though Rider was best friends with her brother he walked away from both of there lives. Rider had worked his way up in the police force and was now a detective in the homicide department and after nearly dying in the line of duty it had totally changed his outlook on life and after losing the only woman that he ever loved everything in his life was different and he had changed so much so when he received a call about a murder imagine his surprise when he arrived and found out that is was Junelle’s dog who had been brutally murdered and now Junelle was in danger Rider knew that he would do anything and everything possible to find and eliminate the threat to keep her safe and protected regardless of the situation or consequences involved because he never stopped loving her. When things start to get intense and the clues have dried up but the killer is getting closer and time is running out and if they don’t stop him in time Rider and Junelle might lose their second chance of being together and get the happiness and future that they always wanted and deserved. There are twists and turns along with danger, suspense, kidnapping, murder, drama, friendship, guilt, forgiveness, strong characters, hot chemistry, hope, bonded by love and situations that will have you turning the pages and unable to put this book down because it will keep your attention throughout and I can’t wait to read the next book in this amazing and action packed series.

This is a very talented author. I have not read a book that I did not like.
This story is the third in a thriller, murder, detective series and relationships.
It has a softer edge than the previous two stories, but I think that this is due to the two main characters have a long history of familiarity. Their short relationship ended on a misunderstanding, a quick judgement based on fake circumstances which Junelle refused to give Rider the opportunity to explain. Five years of lost time and now circumstances reunite the couple. Time has passed, things have changed them both, but neither have actually altered in character. Misunderstanding, miscommunication, still thrives as they try to reconnect..only this time, it is more than their new opportunity that is at risk.

Rider and Junelle's story is one crazy wild journey. Falling in love young and through miscommunication ended up being estranged from each other for 5 years. But circumstances have brought them back into each other's lives. Will they get their communication skills in order to get where their hearts want to be? They never lost their love for the other person in that 5 years. Or is the stalker/serial killer going to tear them apart? Buckle up buttercup and hold on tight for this suspenseful romantic journey. You won't regret it. Amanda is a wonderful author and I really enjoy reading her books.

This one was a bit hard to review for me. I enjoyed the book, but I also was so annoyed with both main characters because of their thinking and lack of communication. However I also relate to Rider who seems to be fighting depression or PTSD. His chain of thoughts are sometimes so spot on but also repetitive in a way that is equally annoying and on point. The stalker also was a bit too creepy for me, but I have gotten a bit squeamish.

This book was full of fantastic surprises and hurtful assumptions, ones that turn your life in a different direction. Starting with a murdered dog, why would two police offices want to investigate that, I mean it’s a dog not human. But then they find out things and one thing leads to another and there are so many surprises you’ll be shocked. Will they ever find the dog murderer?.

This thrilling suspense had me all caught up in Junelle and Rider's story from start to finish guessing who the killer is and if they will rekindle their relationship. It is a descriptively well written book with dynamic characters that I enjoyed connecting with all throughout this story.

Rider and Junelle went back a long way. Then there was a misunderstanding. Now they meet again under horrible circumstances. The spark is still there, but not the trust. Trying to find who is targeting her, puts Rider back in her life. They've changed a bit, gotten older. The hits keep coming, but they're still miscommunicating, in between connecting with each other on a deeper level.

"Every choice has a consequence…", such a true statement! This is an incredible story about Rider and Junelle . It is a romantic suspense filled with action, consequences, risks, murder, danger, love and good twists and turns. It is very captivating and intriguing. It shows how blurred lines can get when the consequences may not be worth the risk in the end. I loved this story!

Amanda did well in bringing out my fustrations at Rider who needed a good shake. I felt for his loss but was annoyed at his stubbornness. I enjoyed Jason & the previous characters, their camaraderie, banter & snark. The irrational killer had me wondering why throughout.

Really enjoyed Junelle and Rider's story. So much suspense, mystery (trying to figure out who the killer is), danger, and to many misunderstandings. Couldn't stop reading, wanted to know what would happen next. Highly recommend

Rider and Junelle really made this book an adventurous ride, despite it not being a super long book. My attention was captured so much after the third chapter that I had a hard time putting it down.
