I never thought that it would come to this. I've watched my best friend's brother fight for years without letting myself go there. And now that tragedy has struck I can't help but be drawn towards him as we cling to each other like never before. I know he'll hate me once he realizes that his world fell apart because of me.
DNFed @ 11% due to a mixture of terrible grammar and the articulacy of a teenager.
- "Machine's don't quit!"
- "sharp curves"*
- "holding the back on my neck with a warm glasp"
- "And it no doubt looked like it had been painful"**
- "I can't get that close"***
- "I just need to stay away"***
- "I floor it"***
- "He scares the shit out of me"***
- "I hated my life since Bree’s been gone."
- "I gulped. Oh God."****
-"..." I couldn't be bothered to count the amount of times ellipses were used in the section I read, but according to my e-reader, in the book as a whole, it was 856 times. That's not an error, as per se, but it's certainly excessive and therefore irritating and ineffective.
* Admittedly, this is not a grammatical issue, but, rather, a contradiction. ** No doubt or looked like, not both. *** Why are we suddenly in the present tense? Pick a tense and stick to it, ffs. **** This is a reaction to a text chain. Said text chain is italicised to denote the conversation, which is perfectly effective . . . when the bits that aren't conversation aren't italicised too.
Love the collection of stories for MMA and the marine stories were good too. My hang up is the book says bwwm but that’s just the first half. I wasn’t expecting the jump away from bwwm and so my interest dropped. I would still recommend the book to others. Definitely sweet and spicy.
All six of these stories I very much enjoyed reading. The first three was very bad ass. I love bad boys that fight for what’s was their in the past. Of course the last three had me suckered at men in uniforms.
Six different stories - three featuring so called "alpha" males and three featuring returned Marines Some were second chance romances the rest were love at first or second sight A few grammatical and typos but all in all good quick reads
This book of four books was a very quick read for me but it had some really good spice! The love may have been fast in each book but it was very hot and steamy!! Definitely a good read!
Since it started out using the "f" bomb which was overkill, I just didn't finish. The stories sounded good but the "f" was way too much. I wouldn't recommend.
