Sam Wallace had prepared for the end of the world as we know it. But when an EMP attack strikes as he's two hundred miles away from home, his survival skills face the ultimate test.
Back home, Sam's wife, Lauren, the mayor of their small town, faces her own daunting challenges as she struggles to keep their son alive, care for her elderly parents, and keep their town from descending into chaos.
When Unicoi falls into the hands of traitors, desperate residents take refuge at Camp Wallace. With their survival at risk, Sam and Lauren go on offense and attack the enemy from different angles. Treacherous times leave loved ones dead as Sam pays the ultimate price to help Camp Wallace and eastern Tennessee.
TL Payne is not afraid to kill off some heroes and showcases some tough heroines too!
I thoroughly enjoyed the storytelling Well developed characters Although Sam barely survived his trip north From Atlanta-that was a it much, plus the whiney Tara Was a pain in the neck: I waa not sad to see her go and losing The nice wheels on her account wasn't worth it, imho
I loved the characters. They were endearing and believable. A realistic view of what life would be like after a cataclystic event. I would recommend this series to a newcomer to this genre. They would not be disappointed. This one will hook you!
