"Hero" is not a wise career choice. Rather, it is a title that is imposed upon one by difficult, and probably painful, external events. It probably requires you to make serious personal sacrifices and to make extremely difficult personal decisions that serve others more than yourself.
In _Battleground_, our favorite heroes, Gray Cloak and Diphestive, are once again get bashed, battered, burned, bruised, swamped, and otherwise abused. For what? Only to reach a point where readers will need to read volume eight to learn what happens next. And what about us dedicated Halloran fans? We will enjoy every word!
This T&YA Folklore tale is entertaining. Most of the group is in Monarch City when Black Frost's troops attack. Grey Cloak and Dyphestive are unwilling to accept evil's rule. Thus, a battle occurs.
This story (like the earlier ones) consists of scenes involving action, misadventure, and superficial romance. The characters are busy, but it's unclear if they accomplish anything meaningful. Nevertheless, the reader enjoys a much safer journey.
This series never lets you down , the monarchs have let the people down and grey cloaks and party want to make it their business to reverse that decision. Absolutely brilliant storyline about which it is difficult to write without giving spoilers so I will finish by saying I highly recommend this book.
Once again, author Halloran gives us his best, and it shows!! An excellent ensemble of characters,world-class world building, and action to delight hard-core sword and sorcery fans, this installment of the adventure included "guest stars" from one of Halloran's previous books that rocked my socks off!! Seriously good stuff, and this reader approves.
Another FANTASTIC book in the series. The kind of book you don't want to put down. I love every character and it's torture having to wait for the next book! I'm so excited to see how Streak develops!!
