The Division made him a weapon. His AI made him a threat.
Master Specialist Kerry Sevvers and his illegal AI Six risked everything to expose the return of humanity's greatest the Concordat and their once-human cyborgs known as the Lost. Now a military tribunal seeks to silence him, and a Division architect wants Six for himself.
When the Concordat derelict returns with a vengeance, unleashing its army of Lost on the Colonial Defense Force's orbital headquarters, Sev and Six must fight to protect the very organization that wants to destroy them. Failure means a total defeat for the CDF and the annihilation of the Three Colonies.
Hunted by enemies from without and within, Sev must choose between loyalty to the Division or his most powerful ally. As the line between creator and creation blurs, can Sev trust Six to save the CDF, or will its plan for victory finally tear them apart?
A pulse-pounding military sci-fi thriller, Rogue Element is perfect for fans of Mass Effect, Halo, and Battlestar Galactica. Humanity's future hangs in the balance.
I loved Intrusion Protocol, the first in the Autonomous Weapons Division Series, and am not in the least surprised that author BR Keid kept the impetus of that first book going in Rogue Element. I love my military sci-fi and have got to say the author nails a futuristic view of where squad dynamics and AI intrusion into that world come together. Sev sits nicely in that pocket of characters that encapsulate a growing sense of amazement coupled with unease as Six’s capabilities grow, yet is mired deep in his dependence upon it. This book picks up straight off from Book 1, and after the bureaucratic fallout from the first mission, picks up pace into a pulse-pounding book that takes hold and won’t let go as the threat grows. The audiobook version is well narrated, and I’m saving a credit for Broken Gods. Superb.
This book starts out immediately at the point book one ends. The bureaucracy and military are determined to punish any who they felt did not follow the correct procedure. Unfortunately the enemy attack in the middle of this and the rest of the book is the effort to survive the attack and save the humans from extinction.
Hard charging and full of great action. Many interpersonal moments also that add to the flavor of the book.
This book and the entire series to date has become one of my favorites and I look forward to the next book.
Bummer!😵 Dystopian Futuristic Sci-fi👾 Set in Space🚀💫 There was a lot of AI and telepathic type stuff or internal communication by brain waves or implants in this kind of depressing😪 story.
I got this ebook from Amazon📚 with Kindle Unlimited.
Ends in a cliffhanger😵! This is book 2 in a series. Must be read in order. Book 3 out in Summer 2024. Loss of a star for the gap between publishing and the cliffhanger. Too far in the future!
Again the author keeps you in suspense throughout the entire book.
The enemy grows smarter and in number every second it seems. The main character must strive to save his friends and his system. The whole time being threatened with death from near me and death from his own service.
Good second book, continues the plot line but had its own beginning middle and end unlike a lot of books on kindle unlimited that just seem to go on and on.
