In Janie De Coster’s Interracial Romance Something New, the journey continues with even more twists and turns for the couple Tobias Benton and Brylane Robinson. After a publicized engagement was announced, Tobias fights to clear his name and get Brylane, his true love, back into his life. However, it will not be easy thanks to his jilted lover, Sharon English. Brylane Robinson had the fairytale romance that most women dreamed of, but it fell apart right at the seams. She found out that her knight in shining armor was already involved with another woman and that she was just his side chick. Brylane feels that she should have listened to all the people who told her that she was being a pawn in a white man’s world. Will Tobias be able to convince Brylane that she has it all wrong and that she is the woman for him, or will the bombshell Sharon English has up her sleeve seal any chance of them ever having a future together in Something New Part 2?
Nowadays life is hard enough without throwing something in the mix that is totally going to shake things up. Love is supposed to be just that, love, plain and simple. When people put stipulations on who and how to love that is when the world becomes a difficult place to live. What happens when you defy what people think is right and do what you feel is right? Is it easier to just go with what everyone else wants or with what you want?
Brylane Robinson is an everyday ordinary girl. She is kind, smart and beautiful with a heart of gold. Anyone would be lucky to have Brylane, but she has chosen to be with someone who no one understands. Should she let love dictate who she should be with or should she let events of the past determine who she is with? How can you be happy in life if you are not in charge of your own destiny?
Tobias Benton is a catch! He is handsome, single, rich and due to inherit the family business. All Tobias has to do is follow what his father is telling him to do but that is not working out for Tobias. How do you tell your heart that you are not supposed to have someone when it only beats for that person? Who or what do you follow?
Something New 2 is the follow-up to Something New which introduces us these characters and the issues they are facing being an interracial couple. What they are dealing with are some very real issues that goes on everyday in today's society due to race relations. The characters are relatable and the story line strong. It is a story that you want to see through all the way to the end. I enjoy DeCoster's work and look forward to reading more of her work.
Something New 2: An Interracial Romance is available on Amazon.com on Kindle.
Good lawd this story was good. The drama was off the chain. The plotting and scheming had me shaking my head. Tobias and Brylane are so in love but Bry still has some hesitation. Desmond is determined to win Bry and Sharon is madder than a wet cat that she was dooped into a mental hospital. James, Tobias' father is caught between a rock and a hard place. Carolyn has dooped him twice but this time it was of his own making. The reception was so funny as the shock of culture clash was apparent with the uppity and up tight bourgeoisie just could not get down and have fun. Daphne's heart is breaking but I think her husband is now suspicious.
Man I can't wait for book 3. I know it is going to be some kind of good.
This second part really came in as an unexpected twist of events. We see Carolyn in a totally different light. Tobias stepped up his game to prove he truly loved and wanted Brylane but what gets me is how are they still dragging around with Sharon. Sharon has been dealt with and she keep popping up to the point that there's a book 3 maybe? The happy nuptials are over and the story seems to continue.
Where do I begin. I understand Carolyn's pain and revenge, but that was just evil. Brilliant but evil. Tobias meant wh er n he said that he loves his wife, but Sharon is not going to let this go. I'm waiting for part 3.
Ok story. Kinda slow. Too many errors. It was annoying that Brylane kept struggling with the same issue throughout the entire book. But I still like Tobias and Toby.
