I can tell you that my own personal happily ever after included writing books. I’ve always said that an HEA is a work in progress. It’s true in my marriage, my friendships, and in my career. I am constantly nurturing my muse as we dive into new tales, new tropes, new characters and more.
After seventeen years back in Texas, we relocated to the Pacific Northwest in search of seasons, new experiences, and new geography. I can’t wait to discover what life (and my muse) have in store for me.

Frankie has gone from having no boyfriends to four and is struggling, and it is always hard to go from best friends to lovers, especially when you multiply that by four. Struggling with juggling a full course load and keeping everyone happy really begins to upset the apple cart but Frankie has four very overprotective, but extremely caring and loving boys in her life and they try their hardest to keep all the balls in the air.
Add in a selfish mother, who I seriously want to throat punch, there is a fair amount of drama. Then add in a bunch of jealous bitches who start a bullying campaign against her and it becomes a bit too much. I am worried about out little quintet, but the bond that these five have is the strongest and I cannot wait for book three.

Hectic
This second book took place over just a week of time and a while lot goes down.
The ex-girlfriends have put it together that all of the guys seem to be dating Frankie and are going on the warpath. Frankie feels bad for them, but I don't. The guys had already broken up with them before doing anything with Frankie. True, that was only a few weeks ago in the book's timeline, but things were officially over. Also, instead of going after the guys that hurt them, they're blaming Frankie for everything and bullying her. That's not on.
Then there's Frankie's mother's affair with Archie's dad. And her mom is selfish as anything and it turns out it's even worse than that. I hate that woman. I don't like Edward, either. It's creepy he bought Frankie a virginal lace dress to wear to dinner and is already trying to bribe her with his money.
The guys are pretty sweet, though. They have moments where they need to chill and not make excuses for past misdeeds, but they are improving. The heat turns up even more here, too. However, one of the guys seems unable to handle being a harem member and decided to back down. It has Frankie rethinking the dating them all thing.
Then there's Frankie's focus. It is shot through most of the book. I hope she can pull it back together. I hope these fools st her school chill, too. I hope her mom chokes on a dime.

The first book in this series ended with a cliffhanger - a bad one. So I was looking forward to the release of this book. In the second part the focus is on the relationship of Frankie and her boys, Frankie being bullied in school and the fling / affaire / between Frankies mom and Archies Dad. Frankies guys are really sweet with her and they try to help her trough all the trouble which pops up in her life lately.
I like the characters, Frankie is tough but also insecure, but she tries to hide it. She carries many thing on her shoulders, which she could share but she does not, because she is not used to it. The guys kept secrets from her and hurt her which happened at the end of book 1 and is addressed at the beginning of book 2, because the first book ended shortly after secrets were revealed. So during this book they have to work to get Frankies trust back and also to protect her from the new troubles.

Have you read Rules and Roses? No? STOP! Read that first then come back to Changes and Chocolates.
Oh the angst and drama. This book has not only the problems dealing with four guys wanting you and the mean girls bullying you and all the crap that comes with high school but Frankie also has to deal with her mother and Archie’s dad. This story is filled with the highs and lows you’d expect from a driven high schooler but it is also filled with love and laughter. This is a fun story and I look forward to seeing where the author takes us next.

Frankie has gone from no love life to one so tangled, she didn't know what or who she really wanted. Add in a secret admirer who has been leaving her little gifts and an Exchange Student from France, oh and trying to just finish High School? Frankie's plate isn't just full, it's overflowing.
Sometimes she wishes it was just like the old days when she was untouchable to all but her guys. Cos the newest revelation- her mum has been schtupping Archie's dad. Worse, the guys all knew before she did. Talk about being blindsided.
I must admit I was wondering how long it would take for Frankie's happier new life to fall apart. With a mother like hers, you knew it wasn't going to take long. Take about selfish and self absorbed and just a smidge emotionally abusive!
I do enjoy a love story which doesn't go in a straight line! Poor Frankie's heart never knows if it should zig, zag or stay still. All the boys bring something that she needs. There are more questions raised but one biggie is answered - Who is "Mr Thorns"? I did not see that coming!

What a week...
Wow, Frankie has had a hell of a week.
Honestly, the story had me frustrated in the first half. The main people in her life are either controlling or absent. I love how much the boys care for her but I really feel Frankie's frustrations at their controlling behaviours.
The thing is, they're teenagers. This is the kind of stupid stuff teens do. As annoying as it is, it's realistic. I'm frustrated, but I'm enjoying the story.
The drama really picks up in the second half. Between further revelations about Frankie's mother, Mr Thorns, and girls at school, Frankie is taking hit after emotional hit. You can't help but feel for her.
The writing has kept up with its exceptional detail. This 400 page book literally only covers a week within the story and SO MUCH happens! Now that I'm used to the style and the pacing, I really like it.
I'm hoping things get better for Frankie, and hopefully one of the boys gets his act together!

We rejoin Frankie and her guys in the heart of Texas, where the summer temperature ad humidity often are the same.
Frankie,Coop, Archie, Ian (Bubba) and Jake are trying their hardest to stay together, secretly, while dealing with the stress that comes with Senior year in high school. Ms. Long's description and the actions her characters take caused flashbacks to my own senior year, back in the 1980s. Fortunately, being old means I didn't have to deal with social media and the bullying that comes with it. Frankie handles her own rash of it with aplomb.
The story is mostly told through Frankie's POV. It is done very conversationally. It felt as if we were her friends that she was telling her most intimate moments. That's not to say the use of the text discussions between the boys helped to fill in blank spots without a data dump.
This is an unusual RH in that her men, while trying their hardest, still experience tension between them in this polyandry relationship. Which makes sense for American High School students.
The adult characters are well filled out. With her mother being the spanking image of the ultimate gold digger and Jeremy almost putting Alfred to shame with his calm and butlerness!
The love scenes were beautifully handled, with the boys being slightly more experienced but deeply in love with Frankie.
And I was right about Mr. Thorns.
This is not a stand-alone and not all questions are answer nor are all story lines tied up.

~My Thoughts~
Truthfully, I will tell you that this book is not for me. This is one of those CW shows with sex. Don't get me wrong the story does grip you, but to me kind of predictable, I couldn't even finish this book. I know the author worked hard for these books, but there are certain themes I’m surprised happened.

While the story grips you with only the main character's thoughts. You also see some of the guys thought through texts from others. My thing is that if a guy fucks up, the first mistake ok, explain what when wrong and move on but a second chance for something that they know would hurt her....this is what I believe. While the author pointed out that it wasn't just one mistake she still needs her friends, she just doesn't know what to do without them.

Frankie and the boys are facing some difficult decisions and Frankie is finding it hard to keep her head above it all. Find out what is in store for Frankie, and the guys by reading this gripping, teen angst filled book today. This is a well written follow up to the for set book that I couldn’t put it down.

WOW! You think you'll know what's going to happen based on where the first book left off but nope! It takes you on a roller coaster of emotions, laugh, cry and yell! Lots of high school drama on top of trying to make make their relationship work and lets not forget dear ole mom. Yes the characters are in high school and all that but don't let it put you off reading because it's well worth it, except for the wait for the next book unless it's already out when you read this one.

Frankie has so much going on this book. She has been hurt too many times and people are still out to get her. There is so much hurt, but there's also redemption. I love this story too much. I love the characters. Frankie is so strong through everything. The guys are trying so hard to fight for her and be what she needs. I can't wait to read the next book!!

Frankie has found out more about her mom's love interest than she wanted, and she's mad because her guys kept it a secret. They keep messing up by trying to protect her, and what they cannot understand is that she's more than capable to make her own decision and to protect herself. In this book they dive more in depth into what they feel for each other and how their relationship can work.
I really love Frankie. She's strong although she doesn't know it. Her guys make me angry sometimes, but slowly they are starting ton understand what they did wrong and keeping secrets from Frankie to try and protect her is not the way to go.

Started off intense. I like the emotions stirred from the very beginning. And I get angry at her stubbornness at protecting her irresponsible mother. The four guys are the more lovable characters this time around. I love how protective they were of Frankie. The only rivalry surfaced towards the end as they faced the fact that Frankie would have to choose one of them eventually. I must say it was quite an unexpected turn off at Archie's revelation of his father's possible interest in Frankie. The whole book was fast-paced, “FULL” of everything you need. Oh, and definitely HOT too 😄

I’m still enjoying Frankie and her guys. I think Archie and Coop are my favorites at the moment. Her mom though is awful. Such a selfish woman. Also I just feel bad for Frankie. School and growing up is already hard without the mean girls coming after you. Can’t wait for the next book.

Wow, the amount of not awesome things that poor Frankie has to deal with in this book are legion. We get another week of senior year covered and I’m not holding out hope that things will be smoothing out anytime soon.
We get to see more of the relationships Frankie is building with the guys and of course the stresses that go along with a poly relationship. The one thing I really did like about this book is that the guys made sure Frankie knew that they were there for her no matter what. They need to learn to communicate better with her though.
Heads need to be pulled out of asses, bitches need to be smacked, and the timeline needs to progress a little faster. Three weeks in two books is a little much. A lot happens in those three weeks however, so I can’t complain too much.
I’m not altogether certain why I didn’t like this book as much as the first one. I think maybe the fact only one week is covered is my biggest issue. There are also a lot of balls in the air so far as plots and subplots. It’s not that that makes it overly confusing or anything, it doesn’t, it’s more that it’s a lot of info to keep straight. I’m also not digging the changes in Frankie. They make sense, but I hate seeing her and essentially regress as a character in several ways. There’s definitely a lot on her plate, so I’ll hope it’s better for her in the next book.

It was really hard for me to finish this book. I enjoyed the first book but I did not like any of the characters in this one. Frankie is supposed to be super smart and focused but on this book she just wants to have sex. But my main complaint is the guys and their need to constantly lie "for her protection". After the first book ended with Frankie finding out about her mom's affair and the fact that they all knew about it, she gets mad for 12 hours and then is totally fine. She asks them to stop lying to her and they all agree but they continue to keep things from her and break her trust throughout the entire book. She asks one of them not to tell the others about a note but he does almost immediately while simultaneously keeping important info from her because she is too delicate and I guess she's a girl so too stupid to help or figure things out. I hoped it got better but it never did. Will not read the next book and will seriously consider never reading the author either.

Sorry, this series is just tedious and boring. It’s extremely slow moving and very detailed but with mundane details Frankie just isn’t super like able to me. The guys don’t have the most distinct personalities. The physical descriptions of all the characters are super vague. I’m still not sure what everyone looked like. I was annoyed with who Frankie chose to lose her virginity to simply be cause he was the most unlikeable of all the guys. It’s unrealistic that Frankie doesn’t feel particularly conflicted about transitioning lifelong friendships to relationships. We don’t get any insight into when she started having feelings for any of the guys. Seems like she’s just dating them and being physical with them because they asked and sometimes coerced her into intimate situations. Some of their actions were just creepy really. About halfway through this book I tapped out. Can’t do it. Sorry. I just don’t care what happens to these characters.

In this book, we learn more about what did the guys do in the summer.
In the first book, we saw how to focus Frankie was on anything but her feelings. When someone flirts with her she doesn't see. Because she doesn't value herself? But subtle things tell you she has a long crush on her friends.

Decent read what’s next for Frankie?
This one was intense. Tons of stuff happens and only in what a week which feels more like an eternity. Though where the book ended I’m not a fan bc it didn’t feel like a full ending to the book just a stopping place, but wasn’t truly a place I’d stop lol.
There’s way too much going on in Frankies life to dive through it all, but I don’t like her mother. Not at all. I love the guys and sometimes the book has some lulls but overall I want to see what happens with Frankie and the guys. However I do not want to deal with some generic trope such as someone being pregnant that is claiming it’s one of the guys but isn’t, or the prolonged separation route where the harem breaks up to keep the friendship and they start dating other people to move on, nope I don’t want to deal with those. So as long as the next book doesn’t go that route I think I’ll be happy.
This one was intense. Tons of stuff happens and only in what a week which feels more like an eternity. Though where the book ended I’m not a fan bc it didn’t feel like a full ending to the book just a stopping place, but wasn’t truly a place I’d stop lol.

Main character weak
Shwe repeatedly concedes to her boyfriends who are arrogant and just disrespectful. She doesn't stand up for self or by convictions that reinforce that when you do something wrong there are real consequences. The entitlement of Jake and Archie was down right a turn off. Not romantic to enable people to have their way. Disappointed i thought with the cliff hanger from book 1 she would show some strength but she gave in O really lost intrest.

I was really looking forward to this, but I suffered through it. It was slow. And I couldn't connect to Frankie at all. She won't stand up for herself and she came across as incredibly flat.

In the second installment a lot of secrets were put to rest or realized and it completely upended Frankie's life. Some of them were good like discovering the mystery man who was sending Frankie roses was someone who she could only hope would be a good friend in the long run. Others were terrible like when Frankie discovered the seriousness of the relationship her mother was forming with a married man. She has been used, abused, taken for granted, and made to believe she was unworthy of any less. Her best friends are starting to get the full scope of how terrible things have been that Frankie has locked away and refused to acknowledge.
The bullying at school is starting to reach a new high and the culprit of a particularly malicious attack remains unknown despite the subject pool seemingly being only the girls scorned by the guys when they chose Frankie over them. But there is someone new who also finds Frankie detestable and is bent on destroying her.
The boys and Frankie are getting closer and they're starting to realize they're not that jealous when it comes to her being with the others. In fact, some of them are starting to realize that watching her with the others is titillating. Which opens the relationship to a few different possibilities down the road. It is great to see how devoted they are to her and how willing they are to do anything to make her happy.
Changes and Chocolate addresses the tumultuous relationship between Frankie and her mother as well as deepening the feelings between her and her boys. It shows that Frankie didn't get the mousy personality naturally and that it was cultivated by neglect and even doses of abuse from her family life. She suffered in silence even from her best friends but now she has the support she could only have dreamed of. The problem lies in the fact that with feelings deepening the potential of making a choice between the boys draws closer and more prominent.
I haven't found a series in a while that has sucked me in so thoroughly. The slow building of a relationship on top of the friendships is realistic to the point where I can actually feel cast in Frankie's shoes. This makes the story that much more beautiful to dive into. I am anxious to read the next one in the series as soon as I finish this review!

Changes and Chocolates is the second book in the Untouchables RH series by Heather Long.
Heather Long’s writing style really works for me. I most appreciate that the books follow so closely after each other, and encompass all of the minor and major happenings in each short period of time. That only a week has passed while all of this transpired is realistic, and somewhat devastating.
In the previous book Frankie’s relationship with her mother was troubling. But we had yet to truly uncover the crux of the issues. And I think this is much like the relationship between mother and daughter in the Fallen Crest High series by Tijan. And if her mother doesn’t present with a mental or psychological diagnosis as this series continues, I will be genuinely shocked.
I had been suspecting Rachel for some time. Tiny nigglings presented themselves in the last book. I’m glad Frankie has a gained a friend such as her. And I can only hope Rachel finds a wonderful girl deserving of her affections by the time we reach the end of this tale.
This book was an ode to dysfunctional families. We learned so much about the individual characters and their parental relationships. From Jake with his distant father. And Coop with his fighting parents. To Archer with his parents potential divorce and controlling father, paired with the class act that his mother? The only one with anything resembling a healthy home life being Ian.
I’m honestly shocked and not when it comes to Ian’s second guessing in regards to their experimental lifestyle choices. I’m wondering how long it will take him to come back? And how long until the guys as a group decide to stop considering their relationships so separate, and this becomes a true harem.
I’m concerned we don’t know about the person behind the vandalism of her car. And thankful even in fantasy land that the condoms weren’t filled with anything gross or harming towards the car.
I wonder how both Frankie and Archer will manage when it comes to their ‘engaged’ parents? How they might be able to workout not having to live with them? Because Archie is right in regards to fathers creepy actions. I wanted to hit him so often. Literally every time he opened his mouth.

Changes and Chocolates is the second book in the Untouchable series so if you haven't read Rules and Roses, you need to go do that now. C&C picks up where we left off in R&R. With that monumental bomb that got dropped on Frankie and threatened to ruin everything. That is only the tip of the iceberg of Frankie's problems. After finally deciding to journey into dating, she's found herself with more boyfriends than she knows what to do with. As if the stress of them all coming together in this new way wasn't enough, add in the secrets they were keeping from her, the secret admirer, jealous ex girlfriends and yea, her mom just tops it all off. Any of that alone would be enough to crumble a new relationship so how are they all going to handle it piling on them?
So I will say that I started this book being completely destroyed by the guys and mad as hell at them. Same as Frankie. I think I probably forgave them a little quicker than Frankie did. They did win my heart back though which is all that mattered. Thank goodness too b/c Frankie sure needs them with all that she has going on. High school girls can be ruthless. Frankie learns all about that in this book.
Just like the first book in this series, I was hooked from the get go and I just felt these characters so hard. Their hurt was my hurt. Their anger was my anger. And oh my word the freaking angst we have in this book. It was off the charts. It wasn't all dark and gloomy though. There were some fun and lighthearted times as well. Oh and we do get some hanky panky going on too.
Now this book does NOT leave us with the happy ending we know is coming. It is no where near as bad as the ending of the first book. Not even in the same universe. But I was very disappointed in a couple of characters. My heart, it just still hurts for our dear Frankie.
If you loved the first book, you are going to love this book as well. I'm telling you guys, I feel it. This is going to be one of those epic series.

So Frankie has been dating her 4 best friends for all of about 2 weeks now (yes it feels like for EVER but in reality the books only play across a few weeks) and things are really starting to heat up. Between the sheets as well as at school with her ex-friends and her school work.
Frankie started off this really well organised, put together teenager that knows exactly what she wants and how she is going to get it. But the more she gets into her relationships with her boys she starts losing her focus when it comes to her school work and gets a little side tracked by finally going out on dates. As much as it annoys me – its completely true to pretty much any teenagers character. I mean – what 17 year old won’t get a little side tracked when she starts dating, making out and having sex for the first time…
I am absolutely in love with what Heather Long has done in these books. I love that all the boys aren’t automatically just okay with sharing 1 girl (as most RH novels make it out to be). I love that Frankie is a little all over the place and and not all perfect all the time. I absolutely adore the fact that her boys are so protective over her.
This book was filled with a lot of intrigue and mystery, some funky surprises, unsuspected friend ships and a little heart break to keep you at the edge of your seats. And once again you get hit with a cliff hanger.
This is an absolute must read. Even if you aren’t normally a fan of the ‘why choose’ mentality this RH is light enough that you can enjoy Frankie’s story too.

I changed my mind. Yup. It’s Jake and Archie now. Ian is now most firmly last and that is all I will say on the matter. Well, directly say on it anyway.
BOOK 2! I’m 2 in and still here. I gotta say I felt more invested with this book, lots more was happening throughout it and I really felt for Frankie. The girl just can’t seem to catch a break. She FINALLY gets a little lovin’ and enters the dating scene, for everything else to start happening. As some relationships blossom, others hit a bit of a wall.
I absolutely loved that the book started exactly where Rules and Roses finished, it was just a seamless continuation (which makes me also glad that I waited until there were a few out so I could just carry it on!) and I was living for the guys POV that we got a little snippet of! I love knowing what everyone is thinking 🥰
The steam kicks up a level here too, woooweeee. Yep. I’ll leave that there.
Things I know coming out of book 2:
- I absolutely love Rachel already. Knew it, love it.
- Absolutely despise Frankie’s Mum. Ugh!
- Something fishy is totally going on with Archie’s Dad 🤔

Frankie is dealing with the aftermath of the secrets she has uncovered. Her world has been rocked, her guys knew the truth, and she is not handling anything well at the moment. She can't concentrate, her grades slip, her work suffers, and she feels betrayed on several fronts. She's taken one too many hits lately and she's struggling. The guys all want to do what's best for her but they don't agree what that is. Senior year just keeps getting more complicated.
This series is addictive. This is one of those books that is easy to dive into and not come back up until you reach the next cliffhanger. It's equally entertaining and frustrating. One moment Frankie is fierce, the next she's floundering. I want to hug her, then throttle her. I was right about Mr. Thorns and liked how that played out. Can't say the same about Frankie's mom. I can't find one thing to like about her. Neglectful and selfish with a mean streak, Frankie would be better off on her own. Is it bad that I look forward to her fall? I just don't want Frankie caught up in her life any more than she is. I'm afraid of Archie's father's intentions toward her. The guys do not all come across equally in this book. Mistakes/bad decisions are made and Frankie is hurt. Good intentions mean very little if they end up causing pain. Listening instead of making decisions for Frankie would make me think better of these boys. She's a smart, capable girl. Trust her! Looking forward to more.
