Using his teenage imagination and work ethic as his guide, Isaac provides for his family, including his schizophrenic mother, and fights his way to becoming an entrepreneur at the age of 17. Through his story, Isaac demonstrates how you can start with nothing and still live your dreams.

Along your journey you will find the limelight spot effect, the 27-month plan, and the octagon way as you build your own success through his "Just Get Up" program. Isaac invites you to just get up and tap into your unlimited potential as you discover your inner genius, one chapter at a time.
Isaac Samuel Miller (ISM) has written one of the best motivational/books I have read in a very long time. His honesty and insight are truly amazing for such a young man. What is unique about this book is that it gives you practical advice that you can immediately apply to your own life challenges; but you have to take that first step on the path to self realization with the understanding of that choice. ISM is very much aware that you must start where you are at (often very hard for us to accept) - there is no 'candy-coating' here - just life lessons learned and applied. If you are at that fork in the road of life and confused as to where to go next then use the 'diagnostic compass' that ISM will help you to discover inside. Highly recommended - I am giving a copy to a close friends daughter who will be going to college next year.
Just get up is an amazing motivational, self development book that anyone can relate to. It has great advice that someone can really apply in his/her life. It has strategies and tools that can help in realizing ones dream.
The first few chapters is an autobiography. It might just be nice if it is scattered throughout the book for samples not compress in the chapters. (It's just a suggestion, I'm not the author😅✌️).
In the end, life begins in a simple step. But also, it can begin when you JUST GET UP and do things necessary in order for you to face what life has to offer. 😊
"Just get up". It's a simple enough premise, right? But how many of us actually do it?
I think it's easy to get stuck into a rut. Years pass, and what worked for you once, may no longer be effective. Maybe you were never sure of your life's path, what drives you.
Or maybe you're someone who's just starting out. Wondering whether to continue with further study or join the workforce.
This is a book that will make you consider what you want from life. Are you where you'd like to be? If not, what are you doing to get there?
There are so many forces, both internal and external that impact on people's lives. But what this book drives home is that regardless of your circumstance, whatever the weather, you just need to keep on. Make plans. Define what makes you "you". Make changes as often as necessary, and just get going.
"Only you can hold your dreams down and drive your true passions."
There is a lot of information in this book. A lot to consider and digest. What stands out is this is a holistic approach, with many reminders to listen to your heart. And spend time with people and places that have value. In a nutshell, stop wasting time! It is finite.
"Start being the person that you want to be and not the shadow of who you are. You're unlikely to change if you tell yourself that you can't."
A standout line for me is "Don't be scared to tell people no!". Simple but often hard to do. Though effectively it makes sense to steer clear of people and relationships that are draining or not healthy. Food for thought.
I admire Isaac's tenacity to chase his dreams. We learn about his childhood, which wasn't easy. But he made a decision from a young age to make a go of things and change his situation. Always believe! You just don't know what's round the corner.
A solid 3.5☆. Heartfelt & honest.
"If you do a little every day, you will eventually give birth to your dreams."
Isn't that a nice thought.
Thank you so much to the Author, Isaac Miller for sending me a copy of his book to review.
Isaac, I wish you every happiness & success for the future! You deserve it. Keep inspiring people.
✦MY THOUGHTS ✦ Reading this book was such a fantastic experience for me! I enjoyed very much and I must admit that something suddenly changed inside of me while I was reading this book. It doesn’t happen very often, but when it does – I’m in awe. Speechless! I liked reading about Isaac, the little boy, achieving his dreams. The word ‘impossible’ does not exist in his vocabulary. He shows us that each one of us has rights to fight for their dreams. We are all the same and there is only one correct path to follow, and you just have to focus on the good things and let the magic happen. In order to fulfill your dreams, you need to have some faith in yourself and you need to believe in God as well. I also love how Isaac tells us that it’s important to stay positive even at hard times. Only positivity gives us the strength we need to live a good life.
Your heart’s mind is the most sensitive aspect of your willpower and it must be protected! It is the one thing that you know that can steal your joy. If your heart’s mind is hacked, you will constantly battle with feelings of doubt. Doubt is normal, but wrestling with any temptation all day and every day is taxing on the heart and on the mind.
The author’s writing style is clear and easy to follow. Each step in the book is well-explained and examplified. The vocabulary used in this book is slightly complex and to understand some phrases, I had to use my dictionaries. My favorite part was learning how to develop a personal code . Basically, it’s about knowing who you are and what’s your purpose. We must think about it in terms of password. Almost everything has its own password and human beings need it, too.
Focus on yourself and not your shadow!
This book definitely inspired me to fight with my anxiety and panic attacks. Sometimes it’s difficult to keep my focus and positivity, but I think it’s in our human nature. We lose our focus everyday, but it’s important to find it and learn from our mistakes. We are just human beings and of course we will make mistakes but it shouldn’t mean that we’re not making any progress. Isaac tells us that making mistakes is just another part of our progress. Nobody can tell you how worthy you are. It’s your thing to decide. Life can be good if you choose to see it that way. I want to recommend this book to everyone out there! It’s bloody brilliant and it will help you to see the world through different lenses. This book is already my best friend and I will definitely reread it very soon again.
As I began to read the book, my heart reached out to Issac. The pain and suffering right from his childhood, the innocent confusion with regards to lack of affection or empathy and the journey he endured from there. The way he turns every obstacle into an opportunity, the never letting go attitude, the hustle this man posses is awe inspiring. It is really easy to give up on your dreams when you've been beaten down once or twice. But to understand that the only person who can stop you from achieving your dream, to truly understand this will take you places and that's what it did with Issac. I was suddenly grateful for my kindle because I had the opportunity to highlight and make notes of sections that resonated with me.
There is so much to learn from this guys life and there is so much to apply. It's not easy to break habit or to come out of your comfort zone while you're going through a difficult phase. Identifying this and truly meditating in that direction alone will help you achieve your dreams. He doesn't sugar-coat or paint a rosy picture. Issac shares really practical advice and paints a picture of his life in the most honest and unfiltered way and that's how you know that he's not just any other average self help motivational writer. It is really important to be brutally honest, and that Issac knows to do best.
I look forward to reading more of Issac Miller's book and apply the practical advice he has to share with the world.
Issac Miller has time and again proved that there is no end to growth and I wish to watch him grow to his fullest potential and would do my best to apply whatever I can from his life, into my own.
Now, this is the first official motivational, self-help novel I've ever read. And it was a blast! Just Get Up: And Manifest Your Inner Genius by Isaac Samuel Miller is a good way to get a large dosage of inner-motivation for oneself. This book may become especially helpful for those who don't have a lot of motivation.
And for those like me, who are already fairly-well motivated, this book will only bolster us even higher, just like soaring eagles! I would recommend this book to anyone, even if they only need a slight increase to their own motivation. Mr. Miller also includes a few lessons in this book, at least two of which I've implemented for giving myself everything I'll need to 'win' at life.
Give it a read (Or two) yourself and see if it gives you what you need to Just Get Up...Ta-Ta!
I want to thank the author for sending me a copy of this book. I think the author structured the chapters of the book in a brilliant way but he lost me midway, I felt I was slacking there because it was getting more repetitive, some topics didn't really need that much of rambling maybe in an audio version, it would be more effective. However, the book really used practical ways to work on your dreams and methods that are very interesting, meaning at the end I did gain knowledge after reading this book, and I am thankful for that. I am looking forward for the next book!
Isaac Miller was born with nothing, raised by a single mother in a poor neighbourhood, but he did not accept that he had to stay there. He decided that he was going to make something of his life, so he did.
This book is his guidebook on how you can life yourself up, and achieve your goals. He uses a good mix of positive thinking, mixed with notable success stories and some easy to follow guides on how to make the most of your time, and how to reach your goals.
Just Get Up: And Manifest Your Inner Genius by Isaac Samuel Miller is non-fiction, self help book with a pinch of religion, all about achieving greatness in your life.
I'm not going to lie, this book kind of missed the mark for me. Okay, maybe not kind of.
I think this book is super valuable and has so many great ways to help achieve your inner genius/dreams/goals/what have you. Isaac brings forth many examples of his life and how things can get better if you work hard enough. Unfortunately, the ties with religion and preach-y nature of God's blessing and needing to work hard every day (one note on being only four hours of sleep) left me feeling... kind of confused. This book really focuses on being the best person all the time, but doesn't bring forth the human nature. Bad things happen, people grieve, people have big families or stressors - we can't all be perfect and achieve our goals 100% of the time.
That being said, Isaac has many tools and exercises throughout the book that can help steer people on the right path. So while the book missed the mark with me personally, I think it will really find it's niche and people will appreciate it. There's lots of analogies and metaphors to help people grasp the point Isaac's trying to make, which is why I think it will work with the right crowd.
Maybe I'm not the right reader for this book, but there is value in it. I think the right people will be able to find this book.
Two out of five stars.
I received this book for free from the author, Isaac Samuel Miller, in exchange for an honest review.
The book “Just Get Up ( and manifest your inner genius)” by Isaac Samuel Miller was an amazing book and journey to go through! I will be honest, I don’t always read the Preface of a book. I am overjoyed that I read the preface of this book! In the preface it states “ If your life was a Tv series, would it be legendary? If your life was a Tv series, could it inspire someone? Or would your Tv Series be cancelled after the first episode because it’s a waste of airtime?” I read those first lines and they felt like a punch in the gut! Ouch! I thought to myself “ wow my life “series” would probably be canceled due to waste of air time!” I am a stay at home mom , and the most exciting thing I do is read books in the pick up line an hour before school gets out. ( if you don’t get there early it takes forever! Ha-ha) Isaacs first few sentences already had an impact on me, so I was excited to move on! Once you reach the first chapter the Author explains his purpose by having the reader ask them selves a few “tough” questions about themselves. The chapter goes on to discuss his upbringing and how his journey to “manifesting inner genius “ began. I loved that he was so open about his childhood, because I as a reader related to a lot of his experiences. Even if a reader could not “relate” to the authors childhood , this portion shows his vulnerability, and makes the book seem like he is speaking DIRECTLY TO YOU! Isaac goes one to describe how and why his mission to “ over come poverty “ began and succeeded. The book has a lot of points and how to’s however it never felt like your “ typical motivational or how to” book. I was impressed and completely drawn into his “ pathway to develop genius “ . I am a devout Christian,so I was completely excited when I read him proudly speaking about his faith and pointing to God through out his book. The last chapter “ the octagon way” helps to “ explain “ the journey that much deeper and makes an excellent ending to an excellent book. I have already recommended this book to my husband and another friend. This is a great book to help motivate those who may have a hard time to “Just get up”! This has made an impact on my life personally, I have multiple sclerosis and I have definitely been inspired to “ Get up and Move”!
I rarely read motivational books, but I’m glad the author of “Just Get Up and Manifest Your Inner Genius” asked me for a review in return for a copy of his book, because it got me thinking critically about my life and my goals and dreams, and that if I want something to come of those dreams, I better start working on them right now.
What I liked about this book is that Isaac takes the readers through steps you can take to unlock your true potential, and to realize what you even want out of life. If you don’t know where to begin, or you lack motivation, this book will help you get started.
He uses so many great analogies to help you better understand his thought process on finding your own genius and magnifying it. If one analogy doesn’t spark your interest, there are plenty others that you can relate to: chess, tv, cars, planes, sunlight, GPS, math, nursing. Personally, the math analogies did nothing for me because I hate math 😂 But I loved the ones on sunlight, mirrors, and chess, because those interest me. Not that I play chess or anything, but I understood it and could apply it to my life.
Isaac says that life is like a chess game. To master chess, you need to learn from masters of the game. You need to know that you’ll lose some games, but you’ll also learn and become better, and learn to take calculated risks and choices.
The major takeaway I got from this book is that you need to pursue what you’re passionate about, or else you won’t have the drive to accomplish it. You need to believe in yourself, and others! One of my favorite quotes was from his philosophy on life: “My aim is to live my life in a way that creates value for others.”
The author talks about his 27 month plan that will narrow down what your true dreams and goals are. What I got from this is that you need to start off small. Don’t just dive into your dream and overwork yourself. Do what is manageable, and then increase it little by little over time. Focus on the process instead of the outcome.
I hope whoever reads this book will find something in it that will help jumpstart their mind and get them into being proactive in their life, instead of living passively.
I read this book in the time that I feel down due to different reasons. Our contract as an employee in the company is nearing its end, I have colleagues who most of the time become a burden to you by not helping your team, and where my future is uncertain, and so on. It’s the time where I am still searching for what I should do in life or what I am good at, funny thing is, I am not getting any younger anymore. This book is so encouraging, Isaac’s life is inspiring and poignant. Adversities do come into his life and the life of his family, but he still facing every day with a positive attitude. I love how he centered God in his book, very few authors mentioned something about God which makes this book so different. This book requires you to write down something to be able for you to manifest whatever the author instructed for you to do. Btw, I would like to mention something about the last part of the book which reminds me of Khaneman's book, Thinking Fast, and Slow about the the 2 Systems, which is almost the same as Miller's 3 main parts of the human mind.
Well, at the end of the day, this book encourages me to live everyday with an open heart, live positively, and of course do something instead of procrastinating.
Note: I got this book from the author himself for my book review
I enjoyed it very much. A great book to pass on to a friend or teen. A bit lengthy and sometimes over explained, but still full of truths and good strategies that will light a fire under your ass. The percentages and octagon theory are complicated so you’ll have to read them over and take notes if you really want to follow thru. The first three chapters are a bit self indulging and more like an autobiography but if you can get past them it’s worth the read.
I enjoyed every aspect of this book, but better yet I more so enjoyed the journey that it took me on. I took my time reading this because it is packed full of wisdom. The author has such an artistic writing style that I almost felt like I was watching this story play out in many ways. One of the best I’ve read this year! Will certainly come back to it. And again, many thanks to the author for the copy of the book.
I was given this book by the author who contacted me by email. I have accepted other books from author's but they were usually begging for reviews.... like literally begging. That bothers me sometimes, but this author did not do that, he just kindly asked if I would like to try his book and that he would send me one for free. I didn't want to bother him as the Christmas was coming up so I simply told him to send me a digital version and I would read it on my Kindle. It's been a good experience. The writing is above average with some mistakes that I think were from my kindle converting the PDF file into Mobi, as there were a lot of (Ls) missing from words. However, I got used to that and barely noticed. As for the message, it was similar to other self development books. Of course, other great names were mentioned too, like Napoleon Hill and his great Law of Attraction book "Think and Grow Rich." This book was touching as it reminded me of myself... like literally of myself and some of things that I had to deal with when I was younger. This was from the first three chapters. Just like him, I have no baby pictures of myself, except for the one of my being held by Chucky from Chucky Cheeses. That's it. I also grew up in a rough spot with very little money, and yet I've made something of myself through reading and working hard. He says, "I don’t have a single baby picture to validate my existence," (Isaac, p.19). That's when I recalled my personal life and how much I've accomplished all by myself. But other than the book sending me back to my childhood, there was great information in here that was backed-up by eye-opening math. It was amazing to see his work and how many hours a month we truly have to accomplish our dreams. His education and writing are on par, with writing skills that I would say are above average for a first book and hopefully I'll have the chance to read the next one which he briefly mentioned in his final chapter. 5 of 5 is a good rating for this book and it's a great pick up for the start of a new year and some motivation.
My Advanced Reader's Copy was provided by the Author in exchange for an honest review. This encouraging and motivational self help book provides the reader with a plethora of strategies and tools to identify their dreams and then take the necessary steps to manifest them. This book starts with a very compelling short auto-biography which demonstrates how the author started to implement the laws of success into his life and grew from a little boy with imposed limitations, but a big mind into a successful entrepreneur. In this book Issac Miller discusses various concepts and mind frames. Some of them are a staple of motivational books whilst others are rather unique. Some readers might sooner or later stumble upon concepts which might not work for them or ideas which they might disagree with. My advice is, implement what ever works for you and modify what doesn't according to your needs. I personally think the 27 month plan in chapter 8, might not work in many Scenarios, especially for adults but there are many useful ideas in this chapter worth acting upon in ways more compatible with the psychology of learning. Also in my opinion, laws of religions don't count as Incontrovertible laws for the simple reason that laws of one religion might contradict the laws of another religion. I am talking about religions in general and not just Abrahamic religions, though even some rules of the latter actually clash with each other. But all in all it is a book worth reading, re-readied and making use of its information in every day life.
**Note: I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.**
Before reading this book, I would highly recommend you to grab pen and paper to take notes. I didn't do that so I will be rereading this book a second time and take notes. This book has many questions and statements that will help you find out what your interests are and to get on the path to achieving your dreams. Isaac Samuel Miller writes about overcoming adversity and obstacles to manifest your inner genius. I love how in the book the author talks about his childhood of living in poverty and being abandoned by his father. It shows vulnerability and that no matter what obstacles you face in life, you can overcome and still achieve your dreams.
I firmly believe that this statement is true that the author includes in his book: "As a child, you had gifts given to you, and all you have to do is simply develop the gifts you were born with." While I was in high school, I was on office staff. I answered phone calls and left messages for people who called the school. I did other tasks as well but the first task stood out to me the most. I graduated high school and went on to college and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Fashion Merchandising and Apparel Studies. Anyone who knows me from high school or even those close to me, know that I was a huge fan of Kimora Lee Simmons and her Phat Fashions brand and I wanted my own fashion brand. However, where I live there are not many jobs related to fashion unless you are a store manager or work as a sales associate in a clothing store. I began working in call centers and found that I actually enjoy it. I enjoy helping people. I am patient and I also know how to deescalate angry customers. That doesn't mean I'm giving up on my fashion dream. Customer service is something that I learned I had a knack for. I didn't know I would make a career out of it until after I graduated from college.
I also found the questions in the book to be very helpful. Please note: the questions I'm listing are not a list of all the questions contained in the book, just some of them. 1. What are my gifts? 2. What are some of the things I enjoy doing? 3. What are my strengths regarding my perception of others? 4. What are my weaknesses regarding people’s perception of me? 5. What are my strengths mentally, spiritually, socially, emotionally, physically, and financially? (If you’re lacking any necessary strengths in one of these domains, then set some goals to develop the strengths you will need in your weaker domains.) 6. What are your weaknesses in the six domains listed above? What positive things do you do every day to work on yourself? 7. Who do you know personally who is striving to be balanced in some or all of the six domains? (Search for individuals who are succeeding in one or all of the six domains and befriend them.) 8. Say this to yourself every day: “Someone’s perception of me is their opinion, but how I see myself is the only fact.” (Research someone who has accomplished what you desire to do, and learn from them. Also, start attending seminars and hire a motivational and personal development coach. Listen to my podcast show on my Youtube channel on Fridays at 1:30 p.m. central time zone and feel free to contact me for coaching by going to my website www. isaacsmiller.com)
Here are 3 of my favorite quotes from the book that I found motivational:
1)Your dream’s survival depends on you unleashing your will, and it will be obvious when you’re manifesting your inner genius because you won’t be able to stop.
2)The more you believe in your dreams, the more you will fight for your dreams. When your belief in yourself becomes unstoppable, you won’t be able to stop until you’re living your dreams.
3)Failure is only a teaching experience to allow you to understand what you need to do differently so you can be successful.
Overall, I give this book 5 stars. I normally don't read self-help books but this one really touched my heart. The story is moving. After reading it, I felt inspired and it made me want to Just Get Up! I highly recommend this story to any and everyone.
I received an advanced reader copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
As a little boy Isaac Samuel Miller daydreamed his way through some incredibly tough times. His imagination took him to a place where he learned to apply his inner genius to succeed in life. In his latest book Just Get Up: And Manifest Your Inner Genius he not only shares an inspirational story of being an overcomer, but also how you too can realize your potential. Abandoned by his father and living in poverty with a schizophrenic mother, Miller learned early to see something bigger in himself than his problems; a belief in God and himself. He spoke positive things to himself each day no matter how many adversities came his way.
In his book he gives readers essential tools needed to make their dreams a reality. He shares basic concepts that I feel should be at the foundation of your endeavors. He encourages readers to be inspired, love what you do, keep a proper perspective on your dream, maintain humility and be committed to developing yourself and the dream you wish to pursue. Development includes, but not limited to continually learning, aligning yourself with forward thinking individuals, and apply life experiences. The author’s life experiences gave him an unstoppable drive to inspire others and teach ways to unleash their own inner genius.
There is an abundance of encouraging advice throughout this book. Within each chapter readers will learn about the Limelight Spot Effect, the Mind Frame of a Genius, and the Octagon Way, just to name a few. In some chapters the author also includes helpful exercises to help you build your personal strategy for success. The next step is yours, just get up!
I really enjoyed reading this book for myself and to my students during English class. The process of motivation became a teachable moment due to several of my students have faced many adversity in life. The reading explained how Mr. Issac was able to overcome these obstacles and turn a very bad situation into something positive. Hopefully, this book will allow my students to strive harder and to succeed in life!! Great book.. Mrs. Nicole Fenner
“When others doubt you, it’s okay, because it’s your dream to pursue, not theirs.”
This, I felt, was one of the most profound sentences in Just Get Up: And Manifest Your Inner Genius by Isaac Samuel Miller, and it sums up everything about this book. Just Get Up: And Manifest Your Inner Genius is a motivational guide that encourages you to not only take responsibility for the choices that you make but, more importantly, it shows you how to take control of your life and how to achieve your life goals.
Just Get Up: And Manifest Your Inner Genius is a candid, very genuine, book. Miller delves deep into his poverty-stricken childhood to emphasise not only where he came from, but how he pulled himself out of the poverty-trap that he and his family were in. Not only did Miller follow his dreams, but he made them come true through hard work and dedication. These captivating personal anecdotes give those who read this book hope that they too can follow his example and live the life that their heart truly desires.
If you want to get the most out of Just Get Up: And Manifest Your Inner Genius, then you need to read it in full, without skipping over any of the chapters. Each chapter builds on what comes before it, which made the lessons that Miller is teaching easy to understand. Miller encourages you to reason with your emotions, and look at them logically and with conscious thought. His analogy of a shadow worked exceptionally well and focused the mind on the understanding that your shadow is unsubstantial and most of the time behind you.
Miller speaks and explains many things in this book. I thought his analogy of what The Limelight Spot Effect is, made a lot of sense. Likewise, Octagon Way, Numbers Don’t Lie, and the 27-Month Plan was incredibly thought-provoking and are certainly worthy of consideration if you want to achieve your dreams. But, this is not a quick-fix book, Miller clearly states to get to where you want to be takes time and a considerable rewiring, in want of a better word, on how you perceive the world. He implores his readers to stop following Life’s GPS (Global Positioning System) and instead follow your own heart's GPS.
Miller emphasises, throughout this book, that you must get yourself out of the mindset that modern living has so assuredly convinced us is correct. Miller states that to have a ‘successful life’ is not about being admired, it is about what is required for you to achieve what you want to achieve. Miller makes a valid point by stating if you don’t do this, you will become your own worst enemy. He also says that you are only a failure if you stop moving forward — stop trying. Such words of wisdom were precisely what I needed to hear.
Miller backs up his points by looking at the history of some very successful people (both dead and still living) to demonstrate how they achieved their success by following what their heart was telling them. The historical people he speaks of are all household names, such as Albert Einstein, Martin Luther King Jr and others... But he also describes how Arnold Schwarzenegger and Oprah Winfrey achieved their goals, which I thought was very enlightening, as well as encouraging.
Miller also encourages his readers to find balance in their lives. And more importantly, make time for the essential things. Miller urges you to put in your diary time for work, family, rest and play. I had never thought of actually writing down such things in my diary, but from now on, I will! I believe this is a simple yet handy tool to help you organise your time.
Miller is a man of deep faith and his relationship with God is evident throughout this book. He takes relevant passages from the Bible to support his argument. With God in mind, the stories Miller uses to articulate his point are almost parables in the telling, which worked exceptionally well in the context of this book. It is so much easier to visualise what Miller was trying to convey when he used stories to demonstrate his message.
Just Get Up: And Manifest Your Inner Genius is a book that you need to have pen and paper with you while you read. I found myself jotting down notes and highlighting particular passages that I found interesting and noteworthy. There are also several exercises in this book, and I thought they were not only thought-provoking, but they kept me directed as to what I wanted to achieve. I believe these are exercises that I will come back to again. This is an incredibly encouraging book, with a bright light of hope shimmering through the pages and giving confidence to the soul.
As Miller so elegantly writes:
“Stop dating your dreams and go certify your true love by marrying your dreams.”
Just Get Up: And Manifest Your Inner Genius is a book worthy of your attention... It is also an essential one if you want to turn your life around and follow those dreams you dared not follow before.
I Highly Recommend.
Review by Mary Anne Yarde. The Coffee Pot Book Club.
I just started reading Isaac Samuel Miller's book, Just Get Up. It's an inspiring motivational book written by a fitness trainer, therapeutic recreation specialist, motivational speaker and minister. He has a refreshing approach to how attitude and our own personal perspective guide our lives. I highly recommend to anyone who is looking for growth, success, confidence, and wants to improve their life and the world around us. This book is like a peptalk in paper form. It reads like a narration. And is something I plan to keep at hand whenever I begin doubting myself. #self-development #author #JustGetUp #motivator #inspiration #authors #writers http://www.koehlerbooks.com/…/just-ge...www.isaacsmiller.com
Isaac’s book is pure gold. Trying to make your dreams come true in life and business can feel impossible and disheartening. Not with this book by your side! Just Get Up WILL empower you to answer your call to greatness no matter what personal or financial challenges you’ve faced. It’s written by a powerful trainer, speaker, and spiritual leader who obviously cares deeply about the hundreds of people he’s helped over his career. This book will help revolutionize your mindset to think like a winner and gain the valuable confidence you need to transform your dream (against all odds!) into reality.
This book was a wonderful combination of personal story and a disciplined approach to achieve your goals. Learning about the author's start in life was a great jumping off point to hook the reader into wanting to know how the journey progressed. The steps outlined were clear and simple, but the need for personal motivation was clear. If you are willing to put in the work to achieve your goals, this work is an ideal plan for success.
Best book I’ve read to date. Because I’m big on business books, I liked Rich Dad, Poor dad as my favorite. But being able to relate so well, this is definitely #1 in my archives now.
A book having flow of River and how a child can have success with so many issues and that secret techniques use by him is given in this book.Mindblowing!
Isaac contacted me to read and write a review for his book. First time that has happened to me so I am grateful for the opportunity.
The first few chapters are about his childhood. I felt this could have been broken up and scattered throughout the entire book to provide back-up examples to reinforce his ideas instead of lumped together in one section. There were more than a few unnecessary details the reader doesn't need to know or care about.
I personally prefer personal development books that focus on one topic only. Firing a bunch of different topics at the reader may feel great while reading, but afterward gives the feeling of "What did I really learn and takeaway from this book without having 'to go back and re-read it.'" It's a pet-peeve when authors recommend the reader to re-read their books. It's a good habit, yes. But will everyone do it? If they didn't, and the reader was essentially forced to retain one main idea after completing the book, what would that one thing be?
He mentions his next book will be about "The Octagon Way," the last chapter of this book on subconscious programming. I'd be more interested in reading a book about that (or separate books expanding on any of the chapters). Each chapter seems to be right on the cusp of something big and exciting, but falls short.
Language-wise, there are many grammar mistakes in the electronic version I received ("use to" instead of "used to") that are all corrected in the physical copy. The prose was casual (as it should be with personal development books) but had a few advanced English words peppered in that don't flow with the rest of it. Excessive use of exclamation points turned me off too.
Anyway, three stars from me. If this is one of the first personal development books someone reads, it will be worth more than 3 stars to them. Pick up the physical copy and start your journey with Isaac. Love his attitude and looking forward to his next book. Many thanks to Isaac for the opportunity~
If your life was a TV series, would it be legendary? Could it be used to inspire someone?
Great questions formulated by the author of Just Get Up, Isaac Samuel Miller.
Are you one to work hard and do everything to acquire your dreams, then the answer to those questions will be yes, and if not, your tv series would probably be cancelled after the pilot episode.
One way to make your life worth a tv series adaptation would be to come up with a plan to achieve those dreams.
This is exactly where Isaac distinguishes himself from other self-help authors. Most of the time these kind of books only provide theories on subjects about how to better your life, but they never come up with an actual plan, or even a way for the reader to create his own.
Isaac does, he shows the reader how to better himself and work harder towards his dreams with his 9-month plan of work. He is very concise and doesn’t beat around the bush: hard work is required, but you CAN do it if you want!
I want to thank the author for sending a copy of his work. While reading, I tried some parts of his plan, and I actually saw a lot of improvement in certain aspects of my life. Great read for anyone that is dreaming big, but does not know how to start.
