Elisa S. Amore is the author of the paranormal romance saga Touched. She wrote the first book while working at her parents’ diner, dreaming up the story between one order and the next. She lives in Italy with her husband, her son, and a pug that sleeps all day. She’s wild about pizza and traveling, which is a source of constant inspiration for her. She dreamed up some of the novels’ love scenes while strolling along the canals in Venice and visiting the home of Romeo’s Juliet in romantic Verona. Her all-time favorite writer is Shakespeare, but she also loves Nicholas Sparks. She prefers to do her writing at night, when the rest of the world is asleep and she knows the stars above are keeping her company. She’s now a full-time writer of romance and young adult fiction. In her free time she likes to read, swim, walk in the woods, and daydream. She collects books and animated movies, all jealously guarded under lock and key. Her family has nicknamed her “the bookworm.” After its release, the first book of her saga quickly made its way up the charts, winning over thousands of readers. Touched: The Caress of Fate is her debut novel and the first in the four-book series originally published in Italy by one of the country’s leading publishing houses. The book trailer was shown in Italian movie theaters during the premiere of the film Twilight: Breaking Dawn—Part 2.

Too repetitive first pass review

These books would be a wonderful story if it didnt drag on, and repeat everything over and over. It could’ve been greatly condensed and packed a powerful punch to your heart and mind, but the editors didn’t do their job. The characters repeated so many actions to stretch out the suspense but I’m only half way thru this 4 book story, and am forcing my self to read on in the hopes that it starts getting better. Book one caught my attention, and the Evan background story was great, but the second book is killing it for me! It’s taken me 4 days to read this far! I have stopped several times and read 2 other books from cover to cover in that time. But I’m going to complete the series, hopefully something changes and Gains my interest back, if it does I’ll come back to amend my review. I usually don’t leave reviews but this series I feel is wasting my time with repetitiveness, and I am compelled to write it.

I really liked the concept. I wanted to like this series. I got the box set because of it. it could have been amazing. a great unique read. this book just didn't do it for me. I kept feeling like I had read the book already but also just wasn't connecting with the characters or the writing. DNF

Hummm...

I really, really wanted to like this book, I even bought the entire series. I thought the idea of the story was original and well thought out, but I just couldn’t get in to it. Correction, as soon as I would get into the story, it would go back to internal thoughts between the two main characters. I only got halfway through the 1st book before had to call it quits. I just had the hardest time with the way the story was written.

This is a review on the complete series. SPOILERS THROUGHOUT.

The series is quite enjoyable as a passive read. The first book I think was the best part because we're discovering the world we're about to dive into and everything is new. The following books become very... repetitious.... Audiobook is recommended. This is set in modern day, Lake Placid, NY, heaven and hell.

MAJOR ick warning - He's over 300 years old and she's 17. And they have a baby.... I just... I don't know... feel dirty for realizing/reading that.

Gemma is a girl who is supposed to die, but she doesn't quite know it yet. The harbinger that comes to ferry her soul to heaven, Evan, can't quite do so. There's just something about her that draws him in. Oh, and she can see him. The series is a battle between heaven and hell to keep Gemma's soul and prevent more evil from spreading upon earth.

***QUOTES, TROPES AND CHARACTERS MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS***

Tropes: Star-crossed lovers, forbidden love, fated mates, forced proximity, found family, accidental pregnancy, he falls first

Spice level: 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️ - quite a few scenes, consensual and fairly descriptive.

Action/War level: 💥💥💥 Moderately - There are quite a few fight scenes after book 1. Death and mayhem are everywhere. Some characters we love will not survive.

FMC: Gemma - She's a sweet 17 year old girl, still in high school, who will awaken as a dangerous being, which is once every 500 years. Because of this, she can see Evan, who should be invisible when he goes to take her soul to heaven. She's obsessed with Jane Eyre.

MMC: Evan - A child of Eve, yes, that Eve. Cursed to walk all eternity to shepherd the souls to heaven, surviving by eating of the forbidden fruit. He falls immediately in love with Gemma and defies God and all of his duties. He literally fights heaven and hell to try to keep Gemma. Oh and he's 309 years old.

Main antagonist: Sophia - The devil and mother of the witches. She's trying to obtain Gemma's Soul and is fighting Heaven for it.

Secondary Antagonist: Devina - She's Sophia's right-hand woman. She drove Ginevera away from their coven. Treats Gemma like dirt but sort of befriends her in a way. It's complicated.

Side Characters:
Peter - Gemma's childhood best friend who is desperately in love with her. He starts to see through the façade.
Simon - Ginevra's mate and one of Evan's closest friends.
Drake - Evan's closest friend who discovers him just after his awakening period.
Ginevra - Evan's found sister, see above, and Gemma's newest and closest friend, like a sister to her after some events occur. She's there to walk Gemma through the events.
Jake, Brandon, Jeneane, Faith - Gemma's friend group who ostracize her at one point.
Anya - Formerly Ginevera's bestie, but befriends Gemma because of circumstances. She's a formidable ally.

Quotes:

"Doubts are like mischievous demons, Evan. You have to drive them out of your head.”

"The mind is capable of great magic, but only if you look at things with the heart and not the eyes. It is impossible to see the magic in the world if you don’t feel it first within."

“You need to be willing to run risks or you’ll never be able to say you’re in command of your choices. Fear will take control of them instead. Never let it stop you.”

"I’m risking everything for you, but I’d do it again a thousand times.”

"Without hell, there is no heaven."

Adding Elisa S. A more to my favorite authors list

I don't want to give too much away. I will say that this author writes in a style that kept the pages turning. Because so many authors seem to forget to have someone proofread and edit their works, I want to say that reading the Touched saga sans glaring mistakes was refreshing to read. The storyline was fresh and interesting with characters that caught my attention. By the end of the fourth book, I felt I had been on an emotional roller coaster. At one point I felt utter devastation and wondered if the author would leave me in the turmoil or rescue me. You'll have to read the Touched Saga if you want to find out what happens.

A note to Elisa S. Amore: It was truly a pleasure to read the descriptions of Gemma's love of reading, the way she could see in her mind the settings, the relationships she felt with the characters, and the feelings that an author could make her feel. I've never felt that someone understood my love of reading and the friends that I have made with the people that I have met in my books. No one in my family really gets how reading affects me. Thank you for having Gemma share her feelings of the love she has for reading because in those words I bonded with her. Looking forward to your future creations.

Beautiful Story of True Love and Friendship

This series is wonderful. I laughed. I cried. I got angry. I swooned. I
smoldered. All the emotions you hope to find in a story. I liked the
different POV’s in this book even if at times it felt repetitive. It didn’t
detract from the beauty. I must say there were moments when I felt as if I
had heard this story before. Parts of these books resemble/ bring to mind
other popular books; but I moved past that feeling and fell right back into
the story. Overall this series is a wonderful series. I’m one who prefers a
little more detail during the love scenes. I found myself hoping that this
time would be the time where the author will give us something to hold on
to. Something with steam. Unfortunately, no such luck. However, the love
scenes did stay consistent with the story so, less steam was appropriate.
Overall, this series is a must read. I will seek out this author in the
future to see what else she has to offer. I am hooked. (P.S. I want to see
Liam’s story).

This is a book about life and death

This book is about the fight against evil vs good. There is no stronger bond than love. It can help win the battle between love over hate. This is also about life vs. death, the love of a family (not always blood related never ends ) not through death or any other method.

This is an amazing author who though her imagination depicts heaven and hell through her eyes. In the end love can help you to find redemption of your soul. I loved this series and yes I would love to see it on the silver screen . My first time reading this author but it will not be my last.

This book is for young adults and older due to a few scenes in this book. I highly recommend this book series to anyone with an open mind. I will be following the author and seeing if all her work is this good!!!! Happy reading!!!

I read this series two years ago well, two of the books anyway. Honestly I did not even recall it when I purchased the series all in one as I read so many books.

The descriptive prose the author used transported me to another world as I could picture it in my mind. The characters were interesting and not one dimensional. Some of the secrets took a while to be revealed and I guessed a few along the way. The relationship between Gemma and Evan was not smooth sailing and while they fought to stay together despite the insurmountable odds, their family fought along side them and never gave up. Not everyone can say they have been to hell and back and experienced Heaven in their lifetime.

I enjoyed the stories of the constellations and Greek mythology that was mentioned in the early books. I definitely enjoyed the series the second time around.

Poignant love story! Spoiler alert!

I found the first few chapters a bit slow but became increasingly interesting as I read through the series. Although I must say, the last few chapters of the book feels like Fifty shades when Gemma and Evan are in a state of lust. I wish it had a different ending for all of them. I feel like after what they all have fought for as a family that they should have been together in the end. I was hoping Peter will have a happy ending with someone but never to late for another sequel.

Amazing

Wow, this series got me hooked and thankfully it was all in one download. The twists and turn and the plot line was go good. Evan and Gemma were the best paranormal couple I have read about it quite a long time. To say this book got me feeling everything is not even close to how Intense it was. The tears that poured out had my family giving me side looks. The amount of emotion this book invoked was outstanding. Definitely recommend and now I'm onto Drake's story, hopefully Ginevra and Simon get a series too.

Amazing adventure...

Absolutely loved this series! I usually don't like books about angels ...it seems so far out there for me...but this series was riveting from beginning to end. I became so involved in the characters, I actually cried for them and laughed with them. The ending was not how I wanted it to be but I still got what I wanted just in a different way...I definitely would recommend this series to anyone ...

Recommended read for romance and paranormal lovers

I really enjoyed this entire four part series. It was a little gushy at times with the undying love stuff but overall the story really captured me and I loved the characters. I definitely recommend you read all four in a row! I cried. I laughed and I loved it. There are a few unanswered questions by the end but it does not end on a cliffhanger.

Amazing

At first I had a hard time reading it, I’m not use to reading a book that has a lot of descriptions HOWEVER once I got use to I.. I LOVED IT!!! I LOVED IT LOVED IT LOVED IT!!
It’s so well written and such a beautiful love story without being mushy or anything, definitely makes you cry at times and makes your emotions go all over the place but that’s what makes this series so good! I highly recommend this saga!

This was a touching love story. All of the characters had so much depth. So much love intertwined. I couldn’t give it 5 stars because as much as I liked the story and the characters, I felt it was too long, too drawn out, almost like the author couldn’t decide how to end it and so just added repetitive things. I would consider reading more from this author but not if it’s more than one or two books per story.

Wow

I loved this series it has left me with so much respect for the goodness on Earth. I found myself in each character. I experienced each of their feelings. This author has renewed my faith in life. I know there is a HEAVEN and hell. We each have a choice in this WORLD and i am glad Gemma chose goodness over evil. I am glad they were reunited in Heaven.

for me this series was a 3 star read across the board. It was not a story that kept me riveted in my seat wanting to know what happens next. Its the same thing happening next. This series was available on Kindle Unlimited and with all the great reviews I thought I would give it a try. For me it missed the mark.

This was a solid pretty good book. There were some pretty big plot holes that were a more than a little annoying, but the premise of the book was interesting and it definitely has it’s good moments, so if you willing to overlook those then it’s enjoyable, but nothing really special for the genre of paranormal ya romance.

I couldn’t put down.

I loved this so much. Get the tissues and take a vacation. I read this entire saga in less than a week because I just couldn’t bring myself to stop reading. I stopped only long enough to sleep a few hours here and there and my family is tired of my kindle at the dinner table but oh it was so worth it.

Incredible

This is the first supernatural book I have read. It was extraordinary. I felt every emotion from every character. There was never a time where I was hoping the book would end, due to redundancy. I am so happy I took the time to read this. I’m obsessed with Evan and Gemma’s love story. It was beautiful.

I very rarely quit on a book even if I don't like it, however this one I did. I could not get into the writing style of the author, I felt that it was so repetitive it actually got in my nerves. I think the girl got goosebumps like a 100 times when I stopped. I loved the idea of the story, it sounded very interesting but I was halfway through and was still not into it so I quit.

Should become a mini series

Rated 17 in sensuality
Some parts did drag out but made up for it in twists and turns I didnt see coming.

I enjoyed this on my KU so much I bought it. Keep in mind it's 4 books and took me few days, I had tearful moments with all the grief amongst characters.

Twilightish

It ended fast for it being such a slow moving book. It was good up until then. It introduced characters seemingly out of nowhere and did things that didn’t make sense. Though it was a good read… it could’ve been better. Reminded me a lot of New Moon and how that book went on and on.

Although a good series I will say there was a bit more sex then need be. I was concerned about the ending as it left me guessing and worried to the very end. I am looking forward to reading the spin offs. Only one is released as of this review.
