With ten years into a successful marriage and a thriving business, Destiny Harris was living the life most only dreamed of. There was only one addition that would bring everything full circle, but a harsh reality turned her world upside down. Betrayal and lies replaced the truth she believed to be the foundation of her happy life.
MyKyng Masters was a man of substance and structure. Even at a very young age, he had a firm grasp on everyone and everything around him. With an already complicated life, the last thing he needed was a reminder that no one can maintain complete control.
As a woman determined, Destiny would do whatever necessary to bring peace back into her life and MyKyng quickly learned the chaos that Destiny brought to his is worth loosing control for.

“The time for you to talk to me with some sense done mothaf*ckin’ passed…….Yeah, baby, I’m f*cking him. Your cousin tell you every f*cking thing else. She should have given you the rundown on the n*ggas not to play with because I’m at the top of that d*mn list.”
MyKyng Masters ladies and gentleman!!! I meannnnnnn this man was BDE personified! Yesss daddy put me in my plaacceeeee!!! 😜😌😏
I’ll be the One was sooo good and I loved the play on one of my favorite tropes, IYKYK!
Destiny is ready to uproot her life for a fresh start in a new city! She’s packed up and is weeks away from opening her second bakery location. In the words of Future “Life’s Good”…..”Sensational” even but an unexpected turn of events has her world turned upside down in a matter of days and she has no idea what to do until Mr. Make it Happen enters her world.
I’ve been hearing the name MyKyng in these literary streets and had no idea I’ve been missing out!! This man was a BOSS!! When he talks you better mf listen. When he gives instructions you better mf follow them! Chyyyyyyyy the man was a walking talking contradiction because do I fear for my life or jump his bones 😆😆
Idk why this has been sitting unread for as long as it has but I’m glad I finally know who MyKyng is! Now I’m ready to meet little bro bro in the next book!
MyKyng was the boss of his family and it was his job to ensure that everything was good...their businesses, their money, their future. He was prepared to make a sacrifice in order to fulfill a promise and to make better partnerships for their future. That was until Destiny enters his life with unexpected chaos that he has to prioritize. The immediate connection he feels to Destiny causes him to question the sacrifice he was prepared to make.
MyKyng gave us all the BDE and I loved seeing him fall in love first. Destiny was not immune to his charisma or his fineness but she made sure he understood she was not about to play games with him. It was the way his priorities slowly begin to shift and family became important to him.
I enjoyed the different take this story line gave us on a few tropes that we have come to love. I am looking forward to Prynces story.
I’ll Be The One is another unconventional story penned by T’Lyn. This story includes found family, proximity, and true love. It also contains a crime family. MyKyng is supposed to get married to Bianca, but it was a “business arrangement.” There was no love in the relationship. Destiny is a newly divorced single mother and entrepreneur who moved to a new state to start over. They would have never crossed paths, as they are not in the same lifestyle, but an innocent baby brings them together. I loved how different the romantic path of Destiny and Kyng was. In a sense, they were each other's second chance at experiencing true love, and Solei was the missing piece in their lives.
What I enjoyed the most about this story was the relationship between the siblings and their vital role in the story. They brought a balance and helped me understand the main characters. I also think the author did a good job researching the health issues surrounding Solei and Kyng. She also showed awareness of the treatment planning and how it impacts parents.
Kyng was a man in every sense of the word; he was HIM, and he didn’t hesitate to show why he was the boss. Destiny and Solei were the balance he needed because my man struggled to juggle his responsibilities. Fatherhood looked good on him! Destiny scared me because I waited for her to demand that Kyng tie up those “loose ends.” I was thinking, I know she is not content with being the third lady in his life. LOL.
The relationship between Destiny and Kyng wasn’t easy, but it was worth it. He showed her what a real man was because her ex-husband was delusional! Whew! 😮💨I was amazed at how protective Kyng was over his new family; it was cute, and I can’t wait to see which brother is next!😝
Complete trash. Let me tell you about just some of the things that make this book trash… - for one the main female character was the side chick to the side chick for over 80% of the book and she knew that. - the male main character was a misogynistic piece of sh*t who kept on saying things like “you’re a mother you shouldn’t be doing things like that” or “act like a woman” like sir last time I checked you were never a woman or a mother. - the mmc didn’t give a damn about what this woman wanted he took her baby while she wasn’t in the room got it DNA tested and then when she came back frantic looking for her baby he drew it out for as long as possible just to tell her she is being overdramatic and she’s safe with her mother. -as well as giving advice as a father that he has never been acting like he knows more than the woman who has been raising this baby for over 7 months - And him and his people called her a b*tch multiple times but hey y’all like it I love it - and the fact that the fmc had a husband who cheated on her and had a whole family behind her back but then literally did the same thing is crazy. - he didn’t even know about his child for a little bit and actually said he might not want to save her life when he found out he had a daughter with sickle cell. - Also everyone around the fmc was like so what that he has a fiancée so what that he is just like the man you left so what that you just became the woman that you hate so what girl he’s good in bed right? - let’s not forget that his people threatened to kill the fmc and their child - OH OH and let’s definitely not forget that he’s abusive and put his hands on her!!! - this man had nothing to offer other than having money this book just shows me how this author as a woman thinks. And it’s not cute!!
And remember this is only some of the things that were trash in this book.
King was a man who just oozes BDE.Destiny is liking to start over after leaving Charlotte. Destiny and King meet under a sad circumstance but sparks are felt. I don’t who was more delusional Bianca, Kei or her trash ex husband. I loved how Kings family took to Lei. It was nice seeing King and Destiny slowly fall in love with each other. I can’t wait for Princes story next.
T'Lyn, you are edging on my favorite author's list quickly, fast, and in a hurry. MyKyng Masters is that guy. His father and grandfather groomed him well for the family business. He became the boss and practically ran the town of Crescent Falls. He also has two women's hearts in the palm of his hand. The sad reality was that he did not love either one. The one that worked her way into his heart came through like a bowling ball knocking down Bianca and Keiala. Destiny truly deserved a man who loved her and Solei. Her ex-husband Nigel was not a role model for anyone. She needed a male figure in Solei's life, and her wish was granted in an unfortunate event. MyKyng was responsible enough to leave a clause on his donation. His clause was the turning point in three immediate lives. It was a movement that changed MyKyng and Destiny's lives for the better. It brought them together and created an unbreakable bond. Destiny wasn't alone she had great support from her mother and sister. I loved her sister's personality. MyKyng was the type of man that Destiny did not realize she needed in her life. He came in providing everything, a solid foundation, love, and being a father to Solei.
I can already predict that this book is the start of a thrilling series. MyKyng was a leader, but he was also his brothers' keeper. He kept a close-knit relationship with both. Prynceton and Sy weren't followers and built their road to success as well. I am looking forward to the next installment in this series. The way this book concluded, I know Prynceton is going to tell his story next.
MyKyng! MyKyng! MyKyng! I loved how he immediately adjusted his life when he found out about Solei. He remained strong, dominant, but caring and gentle for her and Destiny. I also loved the constant connection between him and Destiny. ❤️
First off, love MyKyng name how it’s spelled and just the name in general is too cute to me. I actually loved all the Brothers names.
So I can’t say that I didn’t see the messiness coming. I expected the ex husband to act up. I don’t see how he had the audacity to act like Solei was his when he knew he had a vasectomy. He tried it fr. MyKyng actually leaving Bianca and Kei was needed cause Kei was starting to do too much like girl you a side chick pipe down. She really had some nerve fr.
But I like how they came together. I love how Kyng got the bakery in order after all the bs happened. I want to know what’s going to happen with Safari though because seeming scared and looking over her shoulder gives me running from an abusive ex.
Anyway loved this story and how it went. I like how this story was different and she didn’t have a one night stand to have a baby, how they met organically because of the needs of the baby and how he fell hard for her and at first sight. Gave me all the feels cause he was soft for her like different.
T’Lyn first read from her and I was hooked from the first page …. When I’m locked in from right a way I know it’s going be a hit man this book was so freaking good I live for hood love stories and the Man is just so freaking gently and loving KYNG!!! & Des literally a breath of fresh air with lei KYNG lock in day one , loveeeee just how the story played out wouldn’t had it any other way! . Well done!
Y’all just read it. You will not regret. And the brothers Prynceton & Sy ….. Yeaaaaa!!!!!
I'll say this one was another banger for this author. I liked most of the characters even though they love to call women bewitch. It really isn't necessary for me. But the story overall was a good experience. The arranged marriage between families for business gains did not work out this time. And... The ending with Prince was a clue for the next installment.
This is my first read by this author, and it will NOT be my last. I loved this book from start to finish, to the point I devoured this book. It havld enough spicy scenes with drama! And the storyline is GREAT.
I love a secret baby situation and this was no different! The twist on this was cool and I thoroughly enjoyed Mykyng and Destiny! I will say Mykyng’s situation was a bit much lol. He had a lot going on but when he knew Destiny was what he wanted he made it right! Destiny's story was relatable and had me rooting for her from the beginning. Tbh Mykyng's situation had me confused about who the heroine was lol. Destiny had left a bad marriage and was raising a baby alone. How and when she meets Mykang is where their story begins. I enjoyed their journey and wished I read this book 1st and not Prycneton’s book (book 2). I’m excited for T’Lyn to finish this series!
Having a son with Sickle Cell I could relate to this story. It’s definitely not easy!!! Destiny did whatever she could to save her baby. MyKyng was everything. He took care of what was important no matter what he lost. He gained a FAMILY. Both families were an amazing support system. Can’t wait to read about Prynceton. He was definitely the entertaining one of the family. My first read of 2024!!!!
I didn’t hate it but I didn’t like it. First the names were very hard to take serious but that’s not why I rated it 2 stars just a note lol. The pacing in this book is very odd for it not really have a plot. Weeks/months pass with no real reason or scenes jump to other events that conceivably don’t make sense. There could have been so much more conflict withBianca and her dad and Kyng’s dad. I mean he didn’t even tell him until the book was almost done and even then he already knew so that was really weird for me. Also Kyng is rude…as fuck and not sexy kinda rude but awful rude. Not to mention the scene where he chokes her and not in a sexy time kinda way. Overall it was just underwhelming for me. Also as someone else mentioned Sickle cell doesn’t really work like it’s assumed in the book, Solei can’t have sickle cell without Destiny have the sickle cell trait and why tf would continue having children if there was a possibility they could have sickle cell?!
I just came here to say that I love The Family !!!!! Unexpected love at first sight at least for one of them . I’m telling you that Destiny and King were absolutely the perfect couple, I love that they started off with one goal in mind but spending time together, absolutely made their bond deeper. King truly fall in love with Destiny , and that had my heart pumping because that was one of the best things that ever happened to him. Their vibe was spicy but so relaxed . Must read !
I would never call that man mykyng, who I look like your servant. Also as a person who is Greek making somebody give there sperm at a sperm bank is pure insanity 😂
Looks like this will turn into a series and I’m absolutely here for it. Kyng and Destiny set the tone for a solid series featuring each brother. All of whom I’m interested in learning more about.
This was low on the drama, perfectly paced, and just the right amount of sprinkle of info about future characters.
I’m on the edge of my seat waiting for Pryncton and Safari’s story. Clearly she’s hiding something, but what?! And he’s a lose cannon, I’m looking forward to seeing fall hard.
3.5 stars. I didn’t hate, but I didn’t really like all of it. Maybe I’m just older and on something else but I hate when they refer to good women as their bitch. When I say good women, I mean the ones that’s not in that life. If she was out there like that, then I would get out. Also, maybe more research on sickle cell disease and how it works. There was just a lot missing or something.
I should have read this book first! Whew MyKing is that man that man that man!!!!!!!!!!! He did everything Destiny needed and was there in ways she never expecte. I swooned at the thought of him providing for her every need.
This was a cute hood romance. Destiny was getting on my nerves though 😞. She gave me the vibes that she wasn't from the hood. Her questions didn't add up🤔. When she did ask questions, it was like u should have asked a bunch of questions from day one. I really wanted to shake the shit out of her because she was acting slow to me🤷🏾. King was too much for me, but some people are into that.
I had a good time. Loved Destiny and even though Kyng was messy, I appreciate that he stood on business when it came to his girls. Now I will say Keila and Bianca went away too easy but now that I think about maybe it’s because they knew not to mess with Kyng. Seeing him go from being blah about to love to head over heels was fun. Loved the side characters too, would definitely hang with Nan and I’m excited to read Prynce’s book.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Destiny Harris is a newly divorced, single mother, and bakery owner. With plans of expansion and needing an escape from her very delusional ex husband Destiny takes residence in Crescent Falls for a fresh start. When Destiny’s daughter, Solei, falls ill she is forced to seek out her daughter’s father. MyKyng Masters is CEO of the Port Authority, the head of a crime family. He is engaged to Bianca by why of a business deal between the pair’s parents. When he gets a life changing call MyKyng, although a little hesitant at first, fell right in step with the father role.
There was an instant attraction between Destiny and MyKyng that couldn’t be denied even with MyKyng being in a “situationship” with Bianca. MyKyng exudes all the BDE you could want and need and was quick to check whoever when it came to respecting him and/or his family. I loved MyKyng’s family. They embraced Destiny and Solei with open arms. Prynceton and Nan kept me laughing from MyKyng’s family. Desiree and Kehlani (from Only If It’s You) were like the good angels/ bad angels on Destiny’s side. Both families were close knit with Solei being the glue that held them together. I really loved this story.
Wow this story touched me, baby Solei what a lil trooper!
Ah this was an unconventional love story about fated mates. I absolutely loved everything about it. From Mykings ability to step up and Destiny’s willingness to fight for her daughters health.
Myking really said he is THAT guy & you guys aren’t about to play with him. Destiny a woman with such strength & courage, who ended up getting everything she wanted for her child that she herself didn’t have.
I really enjoyed the family dynamics , seeing the growth between the families. I enjoy reading about Made families lol.
there’s a lotta shit that kyng play about.. his family??? ain’t one of ‘em. this was so good. again, a lovely found family, instalove/attraction vibe. a little slow burn but just enough. 10/10. destiny and solei, love them. I love how destiny was about her baby above all else. kyng really was ready to be a daddy off rip. i’m excited to see what prynceton got going on in the next installment
