( Format : Audiobook ) "Men promising solutions." A cleverly constructed short story which gives the reader a glimpse into a possible future following the most mundane of actions. Thought provoking and attention holding, it includes cleverly turned descriptive phrases such as moving like 's cat burglar with tourette's'. Narration is by Matthew E. Berry, his voice lending itself well to the subject matter, flawed by occasional strange pronunciations, stifled instead of stifled, for example, but essentially a good performance.
I was freely gifted with a complimentary copy of The Squirrel by the rights holder, at my request. Thank you. It was quirky and enjoyable, quick to read and left an impression which I am sure will remain with me for some time to come.
I enjoyed this short story a lot since I have often wondered what consequences my actions might be having on the future. What if you knew that something you did could change the world? Would you still do the same thing or make a different choice?
Short but truly thought-provoking story, well narrated and entertaining. I am sure that I will listen to this one again just to make sure that I didn't miss anything!
I was given the opportunity to listen to this Audible version by the narrator and chose to review it.
