If you're a fan of psychological crime thrillers which are going to take you for a wild ride while making you think, I recommend Mark Schorr's newest book and any of the books he has written previously. While the genre might be fiction, Schorr imbues the narrative with a realism and taut language which will captivate the reader.

Such a good book

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. There was enough action to make it exciting. The characters were easy to imagine and like (or hate) and believe. This story keeps you engaged throughout the book. Definitely worth your time to read.

While some of the government's actions have been declassified it is far from all experiments. Among them were trials in ESP led by Dr. Kroll. When the trials ended he wasn't ready to give up and with the help of some foreign backers he will go to any lengths to track down his most promising subject. Once Jeremy, now Tom Lord. Even if that means capturing him against his will. However, Tom and his new girlfriend, Diana have something to say to that.
I received a copy of this eBook from the author in exchange for an honest review. I truly enjoyed the fact that the female in this book was not weak and fragile. She doesn't need saving. Although the fact that the author just randomly started switching between the character's first and last names without first introducing them peeved me a bit. Normally I have no problem with this, but as it started so early in the story I thought they were introducing new characters, not calling the same characters by another name. It would have been helpful to have some establishment there.

Beyond that I really don't have any complaints. The book is fast paced with a wide variety of characters. Everything from a priest with a checkered past, to a grouchy stunt man, and a pre-cog housewife with a secret. Obviously, my favorite was the crotchety gun-lover. There is rarely a dull moment, and those are filled with a plethora of Google trivia. The end wasn't exactly what I expected, which is always fun.

All in all I was pleased with this book. It is different than a lot of books, complete with conspiracy theories.

This is an ok book.

The characters are engaging. The relationship between the main characters Tom, the telepath and Diana the rugged martial artist that saves him from being beaten up has an interesting dynamic. Tom is being pursued by the minions a disgraced Parapsychology researcher who has agreed to turn Tom over to the Russians for their own parapsychology program. Early on there is a grueling chase sequence that spans several chapters. The middle of the book is an extensive road trip, punctuated by interesting, sometimes violent encounters involving.

Tom has a habit of recounting random facts about wherever they are, which annoys Diana greatly. It annoyed this reader as well. The book is filled with stock characters you would run into in most thrillers of this sort. Most irritating to me was the overused parapsychology trope where someone with abilities just happens to provide Diane with a weapon that allows the couple to fend off an attack by bad guys.

I enjoyed reading this book. It is a real page turner, that compelled me to finish it. If you're looking for a quick-paced thriller, this might appeal to.

I narrated the audio book version. Schorr weaves a fun yet suspenseful tale of enhanced perception and outsize ego.
