A satisfying romance full of suspense
Forced to escape and cut ties with her closest friend after a painful love affair, artist Leah Mason seeks refuge in a quiet and remote village in Cornwall where she hopes to remain undetected and create a new life for herself.
Before long, new neighbours appear inviting her to join their various activities and she forges an ever-increasing warm friendship with her next door neighbour Natasha, who she calls Nat. Then out of the blue a new and more personal bond develops with the local doctor, Joshua Gray, re-kindling her shattered emotions when she gives up hope of ever finding true love again.
At this point the plot thickens. Troubled by her disappearance, her old friend decides to track her down and the handsome doctor disappears, creating a fever of uncertainty and frustration.
This the first story I’ve read by Lorna Read and I found it so fascinating I couldn’t wait until the end when all the problems are solved with an unexpected ending by this highly imaginative author who effortlessly plumbs each character to the very depths.
I award it full marks and highly recommend it to anyone in search of a satisfying romance, full of suspense.

When Leah Mason was forced to move due to an ill-fated love affair, she decided to forge a whole new life in a quiet village in Cornwall. However, she soon learns that quiet villages in Cornwall are a myth when she is visited by several friendly people, suggesting that she should join their various clubs. Even after a few cross words from her neighbour, Natasha, they become firm friends. But, is Leah destined to find a new love in her life? Or will her past catch up with her and leave her with no one ?
