This author is a master storyteller and never disappoints! Like all of Carol's other books, I was hooked from the very beginning and just couldn't put this one down! In fact, I stayed up well past my bedtime tonight because I had to know what happened to Trinny! Trust me on this, you NEED this book!!!
Captivating from the beginning !! 10 ☆ I read this book in just 5 hours, I could not put it down . Carol Hall did it again, an amazing ghost story that comes to life. Carly, Joe, Rick ( Mr. Levi's) ,Trinnys and Vernon's characters come to life in this story. Scary and heartbreaking at the same time. A must read!!
" There are no such things as ghost"
Just a wispy cloud moving among the stones.
Fear gripped her heart and made her blood run cold.
She let out another scream that was loud enough to wake the dead!
Slowly, the figure raised an outstretched arm and mouthed, help me.
Carly inherits a family home and it’s groundskeeper from her Aunt Ruth. An Aunt she never knew she had. She is excited and nervous about the move and is looking to find out all she can about the family she never knew. It is during her first night that she begins to think she is seeing things. A ghost, perhaps?
A quick read with a creepy setting and a ghostly haunting. Read The Inheritance to find out what Carly discovers about her family and the treasure her Aunt Ruth was rumored to have.
Have I binge 3 Carol Hall books in the last 36 hours? Yes. Yes, I have. Do I regret it? Absolutely not. I absolutely love her writing style, and The Inheritance might be my favorite so far. This book had me on the edge of my seat the entire time and gave me goosebumps in a few places. A very well written spooky tale.
As always with Carol Halls books I was gripped from the start. I read this in one sitting as I normally do with this amazing authors books. If you love a book with a wee bit of supernatural as I do then Carol's books are a must read. This is the 3rd book in a row I've read in one sitting, the previous 2 involving Big Foot and Monster.
I read this book in like four hours, I just could not put it down. The story of Carly's and Trinny's life and the way they were intertwined kept me on the edge of my seat and just when I thought I had the story figured out everything changed. Carol Hall is an amazing writer.
Y'all..... Y'ALL.....THIS BOOK ..... I really thought I had it figured out but boy was I wrong!!!!!! It is spooky and thrilling and keeps u guessing.... I was shocked at the end because WOW!!! Ghost haunting and mystery all in one!!! You will LOVE this book!!!!
This was a wonderful ghost story, the plot, the telling (no dragging)! Carol Hall writes her books like you are listening to a story you heard from your relative. Very down to earth. I enjoyed reading her other books.
I love how this book was written. The whole time I had it all wrong. And that's the best thing about the book, some of it felt predictable but the ending was anything but. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
I wanted to like this book, but I did not. The romance seemed rushed, even juvenile and misplaced. The paranormal "clues" made little sense, and the entire story felt forced.
I couldn’t put this book down it was an easy and quick read. With that being said, it’s like it just ended abruptly. I would have liked to read an ending for Carly and joes relationship her apologizing or something. I loved the relationship between her and Vernon.
