Author Peter Styles is a young gay author with over fifty books under his belt already, in addition to the many books he has written with JP Oliver. Though he gives little in the way of biographical data, if the photograph on his bio page is indeed the author he does indeed command our attention! Now he continues his new series – THE BILLIONAIRE’S CONSORT - of which this is the fourth volume. And for those meeting this series for the first time, Peter states, ‘Welcome to The Billionaire Club, where men of certain means are able to match themselves with high quality singles who agree to a relationship bound by contract.’
Peter writes love stories, romances that involve men, and his manner in bringing these stories to life is very polished. He knows how to grab our attention with a fine opening, this being our introduction to Jeremy – ‘I sat back in my office chair, stretching my arms over the keyboard and shifting side to side until my back muscles started to loosen up. Standing up, I opened the mini fridge beside my desk and grabbed a turkey sandwich I’d made for the day. It wasn’t quite lunchtime, but I was hungry and the dazzling sun shinning through the window was calling my name. I’d been working for nearly three hours straight and my brain was starting to turn to mush. It turned out running the social media side of Dis-chord Records wasn’t as glamorous as most people expected it to be.’
The author explains the plot’s synopsis: ‘Jeremy Hughes has been familiar with The Billionaire Club for years… but he’s never been more than mildly interested. All the contracts and secrecy are a bit too much for him, not to mention Jeremy’s natural dominance. He’s never wanted to play the submissive for anyone before - but when Brian makes it clear that he doesn’t believe Jeremy is capable of surrender, Jeremy refuses to back down from the challenge.’
And then we meet the billionaire – ‘Brian Hattersly is used to a life of wealth, using it to propel him forward into tennis stardom. But after he’s forced into retirement and his gold-digger fiancé leaves him, he’s left asking one major question: what comes next? One thing’s for certain - he has no intention of jumping into another relationship, especially not with someone like Jeremy, who challenges him at every turn.’
Approach/avoidance and the course of a new romance is launched. Open the book and enjoy a well-written, erotic novel with a lot of twists that keep the tension rising. A fine evening’s read.
This was an arc I recieved in exchange for an honest review and I've read and enjoyed the whole series so far. This was a bit of a slow burn that went in an un expected direction but I still enjoyed the story. Brian and Jeremy caught eachothers attention right away one night at a bar and then again at Brian's new place of work but realized their personalities just may be too much the same. They were worried that it may keep things from working out when both wanted to always be in control of things. After being badly hurt by his last boyfriend who used him and left him partly broken, Brian didnt know if he could go through the hurt again. Both just needed to learn how to trust and they ended up finding out they are able to finally do that with eachother until an ex decides to come back out of the wood works in attempt to leave brian hurting once again.
Unimaginative sex scenes without any feeling. Dom and sub don't feel right. The dialogue was full of empty platitudes and sounded like they all came from the same person. None of the characters actually stood out as having any kind of a personality. I felt the cat was only added to give human interest and a cutsie factor. The so called love the guys had for each other was not felt. Note to author: put some effort into building a relationship between the characters rather than writing meaningless, feelingless dribble. Also adding a club and contracts to what the guys felt was love turned their supposed love into nothing more than a sex contract with money changing hands. That's called prostitution in my world. Note to narrator of the audio version: Pay back the money they gave you because you did a terrible job. Couldn't even give the two main characters a different voice? Sad effort. Get a job elsewhere. This effort was pathetic.
I'm reviewing the audio edition. This is one of the best of this series. Brian feels he is a dom. He really is interested in Jeremy but Jeremy shuts him down at every chance he gets. That is until Brian sort of challenges Jeremy at the club. The main problem is they are both doms? Brian finds out maybe he isn’t. I enjoyed the back and forth between these two characters. The only trouble is the narrator I didn’t feel is right for these characters. He is too monotone throughout the story.
Fourth in The Billionaire's Consort Box Set, this story seemed shorter. Exploring The Club further, Brian returns from prior cameo spots to be pulled into a consort contract with Jeremy. Again the age difference trope, much more of the BDSM interplay, all while angst outplayed drama.
i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the fourth book in The Billionaire's Consort series. In this book, Brian is a former tennis star who was injured and it ended his career, he is also getting over heartache and isn't ready to move on. When Brian decided to go to a bar to drown his sorrows on the night that should have been his wedding night, he gets very drunk and meets Jeremy. Jeremy helps Brian find his way home and leaves his phone number and a note telling Brian if he wants to talk about things to call him. When Jeremy goes to work a few weeks later, he is shocked to learn Brian is starting to work at the record label he works at. Jeremy is asked to show Brian around and Brian is rude to him. When Brian apologizes for his behaviour, they start to get along. Jeremy would like more with Brian, but Brian is a Dom and Jeremy doesn't want to submit to him. As time goes on, Jeremy still wants to be with Brian and is willing to change for a chance with him, Jeremy is cousins with Alex, the recruiter for The Billionaire Club and asks him for help getting into the club to get Brain's attention. I really enjoyed this book. I liked how Jeremy was willing to change and how he was patient with Brian. Brian needed to take a chance on love again and i think he changed as well. Another good edition to a great series.
I really enjoyed reading this outstanding MM romance & it is the fourth book in the “Billionaire Consort Series” I found the story-line interesting with a well-paced, intriguing plot. The characters are well-developed complex individuals with unique personalities. There is: a former male tennis star (Brian) is forced into retirement & has some sad memories of what could have been, he comes into contact with a kind-hearted but takes no nonsense kind of man (Jeremy), the cat Jeremy is trying to tame (Jasper), a obnoxious graphic designer (Garrett), a caring female CEO (Laura), Jeremy’s cousin (Alex) & the recruiter for the “Billionaire Club”, some twists, drama, verbal bluntness, belittlement, confrontations, vulnerability, regrets, warnings, attraction, complications, challenges, manipulations, frustration, threats, realization, jealousy, doubts, confusion, emotional turmoil, advice, seduction, compromises, love, steamy scenes & a delightful ending. I would recommend this book.
Brian is a former big shot tennis star, and the current owner of a very broken heart. His ex Steve tried to bilk him out of his fortune, and dumped him like a hot rock when Brian refused to give Steve full access to his funds. Dumped shortly before their wedding.
Brian meets Jeremy when he goes out to try to drink Steve out of his system. He wins a nasty hangover and a bad attitude towards Jeremy, who only scooped Brian up and got him home and tucked in safely.
Brian will need to get his head around not punishing anyone but Steve for how he hurt Brian. Jeremy is very much not at fault and deserves fair treatment.
Love can go more than a little wrong if issues from the past are worked out on the new guy!
Hot and steamy KU read!
I read this book on Kindle Unlimited. I got an advance copy of this book from Booksprout. I have read most recent series from this author.
Peter Styles has now been on my top 10 favorite author list since I read the 2 Billionaire's Consort Book (haven't read the first)! The more books I read of his the more I want! Brian and Jeremy first meet at a bar where Brian is drinking his heartbreak away, Jeremy seeing that Brian is trashed helps to get him home safely while leaving his contact information. Not hearing from him after a few weeks he is surprised when at work that Brian his one of his new coworkers. They don't start off on the best of terms, both being stubborn in their thinking even after Brian apologizes for his behavior. This book will take you on an emotional rollercoaster, sometimes I just had to just take a breath. Though this and the rest of the series I've read so far will be rereads for me I wouldn't change a thing about them!

Jeremy makes sure the drunken man in the bar gets home safely and his life starts to change. Brian is upset on what should have been his wedding day that he goes to a bar miles from his home and tries to drowned his sorrows. Jeremy is playing pool when a drunken man approaches the table and Jeremy soon realizes that he is too drunk to get home safely on his own so he calls for a cab . Once at the man who calls himself Brian is home Jeremy gets him to drink a couple of glasses of water then puts him to bed with pillow behind his back to keep him on his side and prevent choking. After writing a note he calls for anther ride and goes home. Days later his boss appears asking him to show Brian around as he is starting work in the office.

Bryan has had a rough time, he needs to work on his people skills, he acts like a jerk but we discover he has a soft spot. He is truly a mess of mixed signals, not willing to compromise, hot and cold, rude and nice. But he sees something in Jeremy that not even Jeremy realizes about himself. Jeremy is a sweet, patient, decent man who calls Bryan on his b.s. This story was entertaining, with interesting characters, sexual tension, intense passion, and a great addition of an adorable cat. Bryan and Jeremy allow their intense attraction to develop into a lasting love, giving them their HEA. A great story but it does feel a bit unfinished.

This is entertaining and steamy. When Brian gets plastered Jeremy does the gentlemanly thing and brings him home, puts him to bed and leaves him a note with his phone number. Brian freaks out the next day and throws the note away. Jeremy is disappointed by Brian not contacting him, then Brian walks into the office he works at. Jeremy is determined to have Brian, and Brian is determined to keep Jeremy away. The power struggle is taken to The Club, then to the bedroom, but not quick enough for Jeremy. It's a challenge that is entertaining to watch. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is my honest and voluntary opinion of it.
A former tennis star leaves his cheating boyfriend behind and moves on. As a committed Dom, and a member of the Billionaire Club, he isn't ready for another sub. But somehow Jeremy just won't get the message. And once Alex and the Monsieur step in...there's no looking back.
Of course you have turmoil...Laura is concerned, Garret is jealous, and Steve continues his 'gaslighter' behavior. On the plus side, you have Jasper who adds a surprise at the end.
A fun story.

I don’t know why but I had a hard time getting into this book. I had no trouble believing that Brian was leery of having a relationship after what he had been through. The trouble is with Jeremy and all he is willing to go through to have a relationship with Brian. I think maybe more of a build up is needed. Brian treats him so badly right from the get go that I just don’t know what Jeremy sees in him. Maybe if there was more of Jeremy’s inner thoughts about his attraction.

When dominance is no longer a competition and becomes an act of love and trust. Jeremy courted a stray cat, Jaspar trying to earn his trust vowing to eventually take him home. Jeremy was a nice guy who fell in like. Brian was a guy who needed to prove he was worthy. Jeremy agrees to become a consort without benefits to prove he's not like the others. What could go wrong? Do Jeremy and Brian like each other? Will the contract lead to happy? Can Jeremy sub? Jeremy was amazing. I struggled with his role in the story. Laura is a brick. Did Jaspar ever go home with Jeremy?
Jeremy is twenty six and works at Dis-chord Records an Indie label. He loves his job. He helps a drunken Brian home one night. Brian is close to forty and is a retired tennis player. He is also loaded. He fiance played him and broke his heart and he doesn't trust anymore. They're attracted to each other but Brian is afraid to trust in love again and Jeremy isn't into kink. I really enjoyed this book and also the whole series.
Brian was upset and went out for a drink to forget how alone he was and how unhappy. Jeremy took Brian back home so that he could sleep in his own bed. Jeremy left after he placed Brian in bed and covered him up. Jeremy saw Brian one day at work and Brian treated him badly. Jeremy is determined to prove that he can be what Brian needs. Will Brian make Jeremy happy? Will Jeremy be able to summit to Brian?

The cat was the best thing about this book! Neither of the main characters were likable for most of the story, and I honestly didn’t care if they got together. The plot also skipped right over the parts where the main characters actually figured out that they liked each other. The whole series is based on one good idea, but the plot execution leaves a lot to be desired.
this book is intense. as you begin reading, you do not get this sense until you get into it. the more you read, the darker it becomes. It is great with what you discover about Brian and then to have Jeremy want to learn and please him, it is just great.

Easy getting into the characters. I liked Jeremy right off. In the beginning I thought Brian was arrogant and self centered. As I continued to read I came to like Brian and considered Jeremy stubborn and unreasonable. I would have preferred they ended marrying. But I take the ending.
A great addition to the series. Not at all what I was expecting, so much better. Loved it! The storyline was addictive. The characters are perfectly matched. I must read! I will definitely reread.

A lot of hot scenes and a lot of drama. Brian has been hurt by his ex and has a lot of issues to work trough. Jeremy are in love with Brian and want him. But he isn’t a submissive guy, but he’s willing to be one for Brian. Jeremy learn to enjoy it.
Peter Styles gives you a book worthy of the power struggle that takes place between Brian Hattersly and Jeremy Hughes. Both Dominant men one a member of The Billionaire Club, one has never seen the draw. Both wondering how this could possibly lead to love. It's a great read. Enjoy!
