Wolf Hunt 2
George and Lou used to be thugs for hire. Now they're living in a shack in Costa Rica, hiding from the crime lord who wants them dead. Their last job, to deliver him a werewolf in a cage, went...badly.
But they can't hide out forever, and when they're finally captured, it seems as if George and Lou's ultimate fate will involve being doused in gasoline and set aflame. Instead, they're given a second chance. There's another werewolf out there. This time, it's Ally, a 14-year-old girl.
Kidnapping a teenaged girl is a major conflict with George and Lou's moral code, but they also aren't fans of being brutally executed, so they agree to the job. After all, the crime lord doesn't want to kill Ally - he just wants her to bite him. They'll snatch her, deliver her as promised, and then do everything they can to return her home safely. She doesn't even know she's a werewolf; it's not as if she'll create any complications by transforming.
Of course, this is George and Lou, so there are many, many complications.
The worst of which is that they've now enraged three other extremely nasty werewolves....

In the early 90's there was this novelty song by a metal band GREEN JELLY called 'Three Little Pigs' - if I can remember correctly. The chorus went something like:
(Hard, gravel voice)
"Little pig, little pig, let me in!"

"Not by the hair on my chinny-chin-chin"
So, with that in mind- here's my version for WOLF HUNT 2:
"George and Lou, George and Lou, hunt that thing!"

Anyhoo - I'm not a big fan of sequals, but I am a huge fan of Jeff Strand. And, after reading FACIAL, I realized that, yes, I can still be objective about his work, so it gives me great pleasure to say that I LOVED this one just as much as the first one.
You know, there comes a time in every girl's life when her body goes through some changes. While it might frighten her, it is important to support her and to let her know she is not alone. Especially when she grows hair in strange places, and some things gets bigger, like ears and claws and such...
Yes, my friends, this time the werewolf is a 14 year old girl.
George and Lou will have to kidnap her if they have any hope of saving their own lives, but things never goes as smoothly as you want with the lycanthropes. And, of course, she is not the only werewolf in the world, so...
Blood, guts and gore, with a huge dollop of humor, for the trademark Strand!
By the way, number three is coming out later this month, so get to it!
Recommended to Strand fans, and all those who love the werewolf stories.

George and Lou - bad men hired by bad men to do bad things to mostly bad people...and werewolves. In Wolf Hunt 1, George and Lou came to believe in werewolves. Now they can't get away from them.
Despite blood, gore, high body counts and bad people there is a lot of humor in these books. Jeff Strand also manages to make George and Lou sympathetic characters. After all, the various villains are much, much worse.
I downloaded both books via Kindle Unlimited.

Wolf Hunt 2 takes us along on another exciting and riotous adventure with reluctant werewolf hunters, George and Lou.
This episode was much more emotional and serious than the first book. However, it was still filled with many hilarious moments of lighthearted quipping between these two (huge hearted) thug besties. Just don't let them hear you say that because they will probably break your thumbs.
I have become very invested in the trials and tribulations of this self-deprecating and uproarious duo. Just sad there is only one more edition to go. Sigh.
Highly recommend.

When someone finds the rock George and Lou have been hiding under since the original Wolf Hunt, they're back in action under extreme duress. Their target: another werewolf, this one a teenage girl.
Once again, Jeff Strand sends his lovable thugs George and Lou through the meat grinder of werewolf capture. As with the last adventure, it's a hilarious gorefest from start to finish.
George and Lou are the same guys we all know and love from the first adventure. Plenty of new characters are thrown into the mix in the form of a gang of three werewolves and the werewolf girl George and Lou are tasked with kidnapping, Ally.
It may be that my expectation were too high but I just didn't enjoy this one as much as the first Wolf Hunt. Maybe it was my general aversion to sequels, maybe Jeff Strand just sets the bar too high for himself. He is pretty spectacular, after all.
I'll read more Jeff Strand but I may be skipping the inevitable Wolf Hunt 3. 3.5 out of 5 stars.

They are asked to find someone who is a werewolf and bring it back to them in one piece of course.
They are going on a wild trip through the woods as they attempt to find and capture the wolf. This time the wolf is a young girl. A teenager who is ready for them.
The hunt is on.

The original WOLF HUNT is one of my favorite books by Jeff Strand. The outrageous humor and memorable characters combined with a bloodfest of gore, murder, and mutilations, made for a story impossible to forget!
In WOLF HUNT 2, we immediately catch up with our "heroes" (thugs for hire), George and Lou, who have gone into hiding following the devastating results of their last job. They are found by another crime lord who makes them an offer they--while being morally opposed to--are forced to go along with (as their sense of self-preservation is, thankfully, still intact.) The new assignment is to kidnap, deliver, and then return, a fourteen year-old werewolf girl.
Of course, with George and Lou, everything that could possibly go wrong, does.
What I love the most about Strand's comedy/horror novels is how well he is able to transmit this blend into memorable characters that the readers actually CARE about. George and Lou are always the first to admit their shortcomings, and the dynamics between them is a constant source of comic relief, even in the midst of dismemberment and chaos around them.
I honestly enjoyed almost every moment of this book, with a couple of scene exceptions--I'll leave that for other readers to decide for themselves.
Highly recommended!

I whack off to pictures of glaciers.
I mean, that's a pretty common guy-thing, right? Either way, it's funny, so I figured I'd use it to catch your pervy attention.
Wolf Hunt 2 is, surprisingly, every bit as good as Wolf Hunt. I was thinking to myself after I finished the first book, "Where could he possibly go in the second?" I don't know why I doubted Jeff. In fact, I think I liked the sequel better. There was no Ivan, but I felt like we got to know George and Lou better. And also, there thankfully weren't any horrifying and unexpected dog deaths.
Yeah, there is a HUGE shocker in this story, but for me, it worked. I'm actually well into Wolf Hunt 3 during the writing of this review (sorry...I'm way behind), and I think I may like it even better than the first two! We shall see.
My point is...this is a really fun series, so if you're into lycanthropy, give it a go!

The same way that Ellen Ripley in the Alien movie series is destined to always do battle with the alien, George and Lou in the Wolf Hunt series will always be forever linked to werewolves for our sadistic entertainment. This sequel picks up soon after the first adventure and George and Lou are on the run after botching the last job, watching telenovelas and trying not to get killed by bounty hunters. But their luck runs out and now their only way to save their butts is to take a job kidnapping another werewolf, this time a young girl, with bloodthirsty parents.
While this sequel doesn't have the novelty or quite the same relentless pace as the first, it still has the same great humor, suspenseful and scary moments, and pretty well-written action scenes. There are twists galore here, and I'm constantly impressed by how well Strand can handle it all juggling the changing tones and keeping it all entertaining.

It's pretty much a given at this point that I'm going to like just about anything Jeff Strand publishes. If the man can produce a romantic-comedy and not make me choke on my own vomit in response, then anything that bares his signature fusing of horror and comedy is a sure thing.
Some things, however, are more sure than others.
Wolf Hunt 2 picks up right where the original left off. George and Lou, that lovable pair of mafia enforcers who both carry the burden of a conscience, are in hiding after not delivering the goods in their first hunt for a wolf. Of course, that state of affairs does not last long, and before you can say "What are the odds of the same thing happening to the same two guys twice?", George and Lou are hunting another werewolf. Except this time, their efforts attract the attention of yet more werewolves. So in the time-honoured tradition of sequels everywhere, Strand provides more bang for your buck by upping the Wolf-to-hitman quotient.
Wolf Hunt 2 starts out strongly. When George and Lou are being strong-armed into a mission against their will, and then are on said mission, everything hums along nicely. It's only once things take a significant turn in the second half of the short novel, that events come a little off the rails. For one, the laughs largely dry up. Partly due to the subject matter, and partly due to plot developments, Wolf Hunt 2 stops being as funny, even when Strand seems to be trying for such a reaction. That said, he clearly knows he's gone into darker territory, and does scale it back a little. The other issue I had was that the antagonists in the back half of proceedings are nowhere near as strong as those who come before them. Sadly, I didn't even love to hate them; I just thought they were a little lame - especially compared to how awesome Ivan was in Wolf Hunt.
But you know what? Wolf Hunt 2 still more than pulls off being an entertaining read. George and Lou continue their sparkling repartee, especially in the early pages, insane action is perpetually just a chapter away, and Strand sets up an intriguing wider world in the final pages of the book that virtually demand a second sequel. It's mostly good stuff. It's just not quite as good as the original was, and hence my expectations were a tad underdone.
Recommended to fans of Strand and those who like werewolf tales everywhere.

Delightful! Yes there was gore, kidnapping, ripping and tearing of body parts, car chases, sewing and stapling of body parts, chains and torture, shootings, a beat down with a baseball bat and wolfie sex.
Absolutely delightful. There wasn't a paragraph that didn't make me at least chuckle a little.
Read "Wolf Hunt" and you'll immediately want to read "Wolf Hunt 2". Jeff Strand is seriously the master of this genre-mash-up.

Along the vein of Christopher Moore, but more horror, more humanity. Many of Strand's books make me think of the monster inside of man, made manifest, then you point and laugh because it's funny, then you get ripped to bloody shreds because, well, it's a monster.
Highly recommended to anyone with a macabre sense of humor.

Worthwhile sequel to Wolf Hunt finds our anti-heroes George and Lou on another mission to find yet another werewolf, this time in the form of a fourteen year-old girl. Of course, chaos ensues and they find themselves running from human and werewolf baddies at every turn. Once again, Strand successfully mixes humor and horror to tell a wacky and gory tale that will definitely delight fans of the original. Highly recommended.

Wolf Hunt 2 by Jeff Strand, takes George and Lou’s perilous adventures to thrilling new heights. I absolutely loved it!
The author’s sharp sense of humor really stood out. George and Lou’s banter had me laughing out loud more times than I can count. The relentless action and the high-stakes chase between the villains and our not-so-polished protagonists kept me hooked from start to finish. Let’s face it, George and Lou aren’t model citizens, but their undeniable code of honor makes them unforgettable characters.
If you’re looking for a well-written, fast-paced read packed with gore and dark humor, I can’t recommend this book enough!

Let's cut to the wolf chase. I was really happy to begin reading Jeff Strand's Wolf Hunt 2, the sequel to...you guessed it. The main reason is because I got to spend more time with George and Lou. George and Lou are the main characters in Wolf Hunt and Wolf Hunt 2. They are thugs for hire who admit to being not exactly good role models but they have scruples. They are perfectly happy breaking knuckles but draw the line at indiscriminate killing and especially harming children. Yeah I know. You've seen this cliche before. Yet it works here mainly because we accept that George and Lou are part of the fantasy as much as we know werewolves are a fantasy. Why it works is because, as thuggish as they are, they always remain goofy and endearing. They are also the perfect literary example of a bromance. I think of them as the Tucker and Dale of organized crime. Or maybe the Hap and Leonard of supernatural crime noir. Whatever you call them, they are a riot and what makes both Wolf Hunt novels so much fun.
So. When we last left our anti-heroes, they were hiding out from the mob in Costa Rica. They are soon discovered and brought back to the main crime boss who wants them to either die or do compensation for messing up the job in the first book. He still wants to get bit by a werewolf to have their powers. He has found another one, a 14 year old girl who doesn't even know she has lycanthropic tendencies. George and Lou are not happy with child abduction yet must go along with it if they want to live.
Of course things are never easy for George and Lou. Crime boss betrayals, werewolf avengers, and a cute but smart-ass teenager all make their lives more complicated. There is a lot of buddy dialogue, action scenes, and some pretty disturbing images for what is mainly a fun but dark comedy. Yet the author again deliver just what he wants to deliver, a rollicking good time. Strand is one of the funniest writers in the horror and thriller genres yet he knows how to both scare and up the tension. I liked Wolf Hunt 2 more than the first one. The stakes are higher and there is more complexity and character interaction in the plot. Yet it is George and Lou that pulls it together. There is also a nice twist in the werewolf legend that puts this high up in the ranks of werewolf sagas. It's has to do with how and when they change. Actually, there was only one thing I hated about the story but I cant tell you what that is.. I think the author knows. If you like dark horror comedies with likable but unlikely heroes, then you should read this.

Brilliant bad-guy banter brings beam to my bonce.
Poor alliteration, I know.
George and Lou are at it again. What are the odds? Once again, funny repartee worms its way throughout the book and plenty of gory bits too. There's a bit of sadness, and a few new characters are introduced while a few old ones leave - stage left.
It's good enough to make me want to read book three.

Being a fan of Jeff Strand, I hopped onto the chance to review this audiobook in exchange for a free copy. I bought Wolf Hunt 2 the day it came out, but I just haven't had time to read it.
This book starts out with our unemployed protagonists, George and Lou, (who happen to be two thugs with questionable morals), getting a job offer. Well, more like a "Do this job or you will die" order, really. They are in the dog house after seriously botching their last job, that being the original Wolf Hunt. In the hopes of having a real life again, George and Lou take the offer and we're off.
This time the wolves are numerous and one of them is a child. This story took a few darker turns than the original and I liked that. Have no fear, though, the dark humor Jeff Strand is known for shines through and I found myself laughing out loud a number of times.
The narration of Scott Thomas was excellent. The only problem I had was with the voicing of Eugene, who started to sound more and more like Bobcat Goldthwait as the story went on. Even though the guy went through a lot, I found myself wanting to kill him just so he would shut up.
Wolf Hunt 2 was a good time! If you enjoyed the first one, I believe you'll enjoy this one as well. There's a lot of action and the aforementioned dark turns, but the humor is there and that's what makes both Wolf Hunts very special books.
Recommended for fans of Wolf Hunt and Jeff Strand!

My first review for 2015!
Wolf Hunt 2 is the second book with our heroes, George and Lou. Once again they have been hired/drafted to deliver a possible were wolf to some big shot that they do not care for. If you don't already know this then here is a fact...for Lou and George, things just don't always go as planned.
This book starts out with a bang! Lots of humorous one-liners and guns a-flashin'. No matter how dire the situation the author shows us the bonding between these two loveable thugs is binding and unbreakable.
The book is a good read. Towards the middle I was starting to get bored...just too much gore and one liners. Then the tables turned and the book became very interesting again. I don't think I read such a good ending to a horror book in such a long time...actually maybe never.
I assign this book 3.5 stars, but because of that ending, I'll round up to 4, I suppose.
Recommended to lovers of werewolf, horror and Jeff Strand stories.

Well, this wasn't quite as good as the first go round. This sequel was a bit darker and more gory in the grand horror tradition. I still had several laugh-out-loud moments and didn't ever want to put this book down. I would definitely pick up the next book in this series (if there were to be one ;)).

Wolf Hunt 2 is a worthy follow up to the first. I enjoyed it very much and strongly recommend it to anyone loves werewolves and/or Wolf Hunt the first. Jeff Strand does it again!

I didn’t quite enjoy the sequel as much as the OG, but it was still really fun (and funny). Definitely a strong follow up. I am excited to see what’s in store for the trilogy’s conclusion.

This was a great sequel to Wolf Hunt! I loved getting to see George and Lou again, and I really adored Ally! I want to know what happens to Ally next! This is the 4th consecutive Strand book I've read and I just want more!

Loved the first book. Loved the second book! The gore, the suspense, the witty banter... Awesomely fine! A definite recommend!

Wolf Hunt 2 is just as funny as the first and at maybe even better. George and Lou are back. Only this time the werewolf they are after happens to be a teenage girl named Ally, who doesn't believe in werewolves. The boys have limited choices. They are either going to be hunted down to the ends of the Earth and killed - or they will kidnap Ally, so she can bite someone who wants to become a werewolf. This is a dilemma that doesn't sit well with George and Lou... after all they are thugs not creeps! But after a bit of classic banter, they come to the conclusion that either way, someone will kidnap her and she is much safer if it is them. The stage is set and the rest of the book takes off from there with lots of laughs, violence, more werewolves and an awesome new character, named Eugene. Like most of Jeff Strand's works, this is a good book to read in between longer fancier books and definitely something I'd recommend if you don't mind a little bit of light entertainment paired with a side of torture. 4/5

More fun with George and Lou! Is this book going to blow your mind with profoundly thoughtful commentary on world issues and open your eyes to provocative ideas like the silent subjugation of humanity (or possibly even werewolf-anity) by AI? Not likely. It's just simple, werewolf fun, in the darkly comedic vein of Jeff Strand.
I am a long-time fan of the author's work and had enjoyed the first one, so this was an obvious good fit for me. For those new to Strand, however, I would probably recommend Wolf Hunt as an initial read over Wolf Hunt 2. :)

George and Lou are all finished with werewolves after what they had to deal with in book one. Hidden away in remote corners of the earth where they can’t be found. Or so they hoped.
Once again they are voluntold to help grab a werewolf but this time in the form of a fifteen year old girl. So that makes them extra super creepy thugs. Verbal and physical abuse aplenty in the middle book of this trilogy. There is even some sad parts

Pretty much just like the first, but with a little less comedy slapstick and a little more carnage. Lots of fun, basically a modern day pulp novel that never gets dull.

Just as good (and upsettingly gory, tho lol) as book one. Blew through this on audio in like two days. Yeah, there was a solo road trip involved, but still haha.

Really liked this one. Maybe not quite as good as the first book it was still a real fun romp with lots of werewolf action. Great fun read.
