Ditched: Some People Have Needed to Be Rescued Their Whole Lives...

Rate this book
Ditch (verb): to abandon or discard; of an aircraft landing on water.

Flight Manager Julie Margot has been ditched before, but never in this sense of the word! While she is well accustomed to landing at international airports around the world, the rippling waters of North Hudson Bay are a new, and utterly terrifying, destination for her and everyone else on board.

Finding themselves deep within the pages of their safety manuals, Julie and her crew draw on the drills and procedures that they never dreamed they would need, evacuating everyone into rafts and setting up camp on the shore as they wait to be rescued...but will they be found before tragedy strikes?

On this most bizarre of layovers a new family is forming, and even a reluctant Julie cannot avoid "caring", that one emotion she has worked so hard to eliminate from her life. Without "caring", loneliness was a comfortable place, a place where the voices were quiet; but now they are back and standing firmly in the way of her happiness, which for once, she might dare to dream she can see on the horizon....

Will anyone rescue her from them?

Not sure how I felt about the starting of this story. Thought it was about a shallow character with no type of compass. Julie ended up not being such a bad person, but through the plane accident she had to be accountable to herself and see who she is. I want to rate this a 3.5, but being on the edge I too will, like Julie give it the benefit of the doubt.

A Winner For Sure!

A fresh idea and enjoyable trip! I enjoyed this book immensely. I wish the author had left out the choice of a few swear words, I feel that it cheapens the book. Otherwise, its a great read.

Great book, took a few chapters to get into it, but good story and clever writing. Looking forward to the next one. Love aviation books.
