The problem with Belle Harrison, vampire slayer, is that she doesn’t give two shits about lakes. That all changes when she learns of a certain lake that could show her the truth about the dark unknown who wants her dead.
Unfortunately, only the devil knows where this lake is. Damn it all to hell, he’s hot, sexy, wrapped in leather, and yearning to get down Belle’s pants with one lust-filled glance.
But he’s also a prickly bastard.
Belle’s going to need her three vampires’ help to slap some sense into the devil, even if it hurtles her closer to a one-on-one brawl with the dark unknown.
Yea I'm just going to be real here.. this whole series has taken a kind of cheesy and sort of outrageous turn into bad supernatural tv series zones. Almost like a soap opera where 5 years later all the same things are happening.. still dealing with the same bad guys and some of the old enemies have popped up as well. Yea ole Lucifer aka Luc seems to be a player in this game after all, and playing a way bigger role than we all thought. He also seems to be rethinking his decision that Belle is tainted.. We are finally nearing a climax here as we race to stop Paul in his evil doings. Whatever those are exactly. We need to find the magical lake so we can determine Pauls true motives.. It seems Paul also needs this lake.. and he needs the devil to move it for him. We do end up facing off against Paul but as we near the 21st birthday Belle is becomming more and more unstable, and of course gets her ass kicked.. pretty hard core in an epic cliff faller.. yea you know where the heroine isn't actually hanging off the cliff but has already tipped off and is mid fall leading into the next book. One of those. Well.. just one more to go...
So this is the first Holly Ryan series I’ve read and it was okay, I always have higher expectations when it comes to vampires.
The Slayers Reverse Harem series is obviously a fantasy RH. Each book is fast paced and given I listened to these via audible it seem I was getting through them quite quickly.
Given that it was an audible, I definitely though the voice over was great, perfect fit for Belle!
Belle is quite hilarious as well her mind was permanently stuck in the gutter when she wasn’t slaying vampires, actually nah not even then.
Her love interests, Jaser, Eddie and Sawyer sound smoking hot and were there for her every need. Ironic huh, vampire slayer shacking it up with not one but three gorgeous vamps. And their scenes together super hot.
The only reason why I gave a 3 rating is because the story felt a bit rushed I would have liked a bit more depth and I think that last scene with Paul was entirely too easy given his powers - he shouldn’t of needed a backup plan! But there you have it. I do recommend that these be read back to back.
The show down with the Slayer senate, the refusal of the devils proposal and taking care of Paul are all on the to do list. This book come with a few surprises and a betrayal that catches Belle off guard. A very fast paced story line with battles, enthralling events and blood will keep you diving into the this book. It’s story line is going perfectly with the story line so far and I am excited to dive into the conclusion the slayer collection. The narrator is doing a fantastic job and holds your attention with her inflection. Just a warning this is kind of a sad book with the way something turn out but over all a really good build up to the final book!
This series just keeps getting juicier and juicier with every installment. I've been hooked from word one and it makes me absolutely giddy to get the next installment. The tongue in cheekiness is still in this installment but the anti is really raised with the appearance of the devil himself. There is a little more darkness in this one but there is still plenty of steamy times with Belle and her three sexy vampires to get you through the darkness. I can't wait to see how it all wraps up!
The fourth book in the series, and things are just getting darker and more intense. The questions about the origins of 'dark unknown' are answered, and is the Devil really the bad guy or misunderstood?! So many more questions, and an answer Belle doesn't want to share! An emotional rollercoaster, but too good to put down, I need the next book!!
Some questions answered some more need answering. I feel so bad for belle she literally being savaged daily by paul. There needs to be like 100 slayers. It just one, dozens and dozens because this is a horrible life
By mistake I started off with this book. It was funny because I thought I would be lost and I really wasn't. Ironically I read the books out of order and even so the explanation of the characters past and intro to the Devil was in the first book it all made sense. Loved the series .
This was a book that kept me on the edge wanting to know what was going to happen next. I can’t wait for the next book in this series. The whole series is very good.
