I kissed this book when I finished it.

It was just what I needed after going through Easyway and quitting for a year, well multiple years really, on and off, and then starting again a couple of months ago.

It recognises a few facts about smoking that Easyway doesn't and is less bombastic in style and approach which I appreciate. It's also shorter and more to the point. I managed to read it in a few hours one evening and a few hours the next afternoon.

I believe this is a must read for anyone who has quit or never smoked but is curious about how and why it has the effect it does on people or for former smokers who want to build a little more knowledge of their old affliction and it should go without saying that if you are currently smoking you do yourself a favour in reading this book.

I feel so happy to have binned the nicotine.

I'll be reading the author's other books next on the chance that they are as useful as this one.

This was recommended to me as an improved version of Allen Carr's bestseller, which, in my opinion, lacked depth. Initially, Nicotine Explained seemed promising as it delved into the science of nicotine addiction. However, as the book progressed, it maintained the simplistic notion that smokers, once acquainted with the dangers of tobacco, should effortlessly lose all desire to smoke.

While I acknowledge the role of willpower and common sense in quitting smoking, I believe both books lack empathy for those navigating the challenging journey of cessation. A more nuanced understanding of the ongoing struggles of recent quitters could add a layer of compassion to both books.

My fuzzy head explained

This is the only stop smoking book I have read that actually explains what happens in my head when I try to quit. I would highly recommend you read this if you are thinking about quitting. Whether it is your first try or you have tried many times - like me. I'm not scared to quit, now. Finally. Thank you, Mr Porter.

Super short book that can be an addition to Allen Carr's if you are looking for more motivation and information while on your journey of quitting smoking. It is very crisp, doesn't have a lot of repetitions (of course some) but gives you a couple of more different aspects than Carr's way. It can be more of a go-to-book in case you need to remember why you want to quit smoking.

Really sensible book, sets it all out for you

I turned to this book after falling back into the nicotine trap having read a more famous authors book/ watched the dvd on stopping smoking. I have to say, understanding the way nicotine works in depth this way has helped me tremendously

Recomendo.

Very good

I stopped smoking over a year ago using the Easyway method but have recently felt some cravings to start again. This book reaffirms the reasons I stopped smoking initially and helped me to remember all the reasons I stopped in the first place.

Nice

This book is full of solid arguments build on apparent knowledge on addictive mechanisms. While I found the knowledge good to know for starting one's own journey of quitting, it was completely lacking in references for the authors sources of information.

What I needed

Having tried and failed with Allen Carr many times, this gives you the missing info, instead of brushing to side things you will experience. Real world info. Highly recommend

This book was one of the pillars in my nicotine-quitting journey. I found it especially helpful to listen to as an audiobook during the time.

The author is very effective in conveying his message. Highly recommend this for anyone who wants to get educated on the effects of nicotine.

P.S. I haven't smoked in nearly 2 years!

Sequel to Allen carr's effort

Sequel to Alen carr's easy way and permanent
way. This is what was missing there. It gives a great clarity on what nicotine does to you.

Please sort out the typos!

Not a bad book but I found the typing errors too distracting. Neither do I think it tells us anything that Alan Carr hasn't already said.
