This is second in a series. I mean. It doesn't even have its own title... Read in order.
So you mostly know what to expect with this. The action descriptions get snappier. So that's good.
But we also start getting a bunch of bad guy PoV and they are seriously evil schemers. It might help if they made any kind of sense, but so far not so much. I mean, they keep talking about "experiments" but without any real context of what they're trying to "research". It isn't helping that Evelyn is continually called a failure even as we hear, over and over, how nobody has ever grown so fast before. So I'm wondering what kind of whacky criteria they are using to determine success or failure because all these people coming around to end her as a failure seem a bit stupid.
I particularly hated any time Sapphire showed up. I get the feeling that the author is enjoying dripping whatever her motivations are on the readers but I'm to the point now that I just don't care. And the weird RI1 from Evelyn's original lab was just boring.
I do like Evelyn still. And not just because her power curve is stupid steep. You can't ask for more from a power fantasy than to have her pull out the stompy boots and take whack job after natural calamity after mad scientist behind the wood shed. And I'm not hating the developing friendships, though her thing with Sierra is a little over the top.
Anyway, if it weren't for the bad guys, pretty much every aspect of the bad guys frankly, this might have been a higher rating. I'm still going with four stars, though, and will certainly pick up the next.
A note about Chaste: Evelyn and Sierra blush a lot and help each other try on clothes and stuff. There's no details or any shenanigans and frankly, Evelyn doesn't seem to have a sex drive or know what attraction means. So it's chaste. But you could quibble with that given how much Sierra is definitely throwing out the vibes and we do get some non-sexual intimate moments.

good book with some flaws.
I enjoyed the story, the MC, who is finally developing a personality outside of the one that she was programmed with. The secondary characters are great, and the story is not only about gaining power, but love and friendship. The action sequences are great, if you read the other books in this series, you will enjoy this one. The only thing I didn’t like or don’t like is the fact that the MC is always slogging, uphill, or fighting from behind or getting beaten up before she can achieve her goals. That aspect of the story in my opinion, needs to change a bit. We want to see the MC Telling people to come at her come and get me and then knocking them on their behind. Am my opinion, seeing the MC as an underdog, always fighting, as an underdog gets to be somewhat tiring. Besides, that the story is excellent, and I will read the next book.

Good stuff
A bit of a mad rush as of they are doing their best to get this story done in a trilogy but still entertaining... It is as op as op is written.. If you like power leveling and constant action and violence then you will enjoy this... Interesting world creation and system...I recommend

pretty good heroine series
I’m always worried with books like these. I was able to relate to all of the characters and the story is good. The level growth was much faster than I originally expected it to be. The story gets thru the monotonous portions of middle levels. Decent book to read for a litrpg.

a wild ride
I picked up this series on a whim and I’m glad I did. I’m a big fan of the LITRPG genre but this one is unique. I like the twist of different categories once you his different levels and the way skills work. One of the few times I’ve read about an Op character that is Op enough lol. Lived the action

Amazing find
So happy I discovered this gem, but at the same time sad/annoyed I found it so early so I have to wait for more. I'll be excitedly awaiting book 3 in February!!
It was great watching Evelyn grow, break her programming and discover herself as a person. The romance is a nice bonus too.

Unending conflict
Yeh, life is not easy for Evelyn... And it doesn't look like things are going to get any easier anytime in the near future. Explosive growth is fun to watch and read about. This book takes the story of the first and kicks it into overdrive.
All that said.... I'm looking guard to the next one.

It is very different to what I usually listen to in terms of litrpg. Things are certainly moving fast but that is not necessarily a bad thing especially as the whole premise is built around explaining why such a thing would be possible. A different kind of lead and reminds me of manwha and manhua that I read a lot of. This is a fun series

coming in to its own
So I made the comparison when reviewing the first book between this and the Salvos series and while this is still true of the second one of definitely a coming more in to its own and is well worth a read.

Complex stories are fine as long as. . .
You have clear, concise writing. This had missed the mark. It is muddled and convoluted with its multiple twists and turns. All the bits are here, they just need to be put together better. Much, much better.
