Scarred by her past, Kerri frequents an elite sex club to experience the intimacy she craves—and when she comes face-to-face with dangerously sexy Trouble, their explosive chemistry will turn her world upside down...
I've been watching you. I feel like I've been watching you forever. It started as revenge. You were a means to an end, a way to pay your father back. To avenge my sister. Her death. Her life. But it turned into something else. An obsession. An addiction. Dangerous. Unwanted. But, maybe, inevitable. And so here we are. I'm sorry, Kerri... I didn't want this. I didn't want to shatter you. But you should know... You make me weak.

I can’t believe after all the crap h’s father did the wife still stayed with him. On top of that h and her brother still bother with that cheating shithead! I wanted him to be kicked out of the family after what he did!!

From the front cover to the back, just perfection! This is a book I would read again and again. Would I like to know more? Heck yes and that's what gives me the desire to reread and see if I missed something. It's one of those books you just don't want to end and you carry it everywhere to continue to read because you don't want to put it down. Love the characters! All of them. Love the storyline and the pain, the forgiveness and love.
I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Wow! Trouble was my first time reading Colet Abedi and it definitely won’t be the last! I devoured it from front to back. I felt all of the emotions in this book ranging from the need for revenge to heartbreak. I shed a tear or two. I loved watching Ian and Kerrie characters grow, both separately and together. They have such great chemistry, you can’t help but route for them!
Ian has got himself into a bit of Trouble. What starts out as revenge for his sister, turns into something Ian never thought would happen. Least of all with her. What happens when she find out the truth? You will have to read it to find out 😉
I voluntarily read an arc and this is my honest review
Miss Abedi came back with trouble and sexyness wrapped up in one character! Ian aka trouble was simply perfection and Kerri complemented him perfectly, these two lit up a fire on my kindle and they continue it throughout the entire story! I need my next Colet Abedi book tomorrow!
I was pretty much hooked on this book from the moment I started it. I've had a bit of a bad run of books lately, so it was good to get one that I couldn't put down. I was a bit worried that this was going to be one of those books where the hero is completely overbearing and controlling. He does have his moments, but in many ways, the hero and heroine were fairly well matched. Ian and Kerri have that obsessive instant attraction that in real life wouldn't probably bode well for a long term relationship, but works so well in romance novels. They also have that oh so important reason to not be together. A past that Kerri knows nothing about, but that has been Ian's whole life for many years. I've discovered since finishing the book and having a nose around on Goodreads that although this is a standalone novel, it is linked to at least one other book from Colet Abedi. The characters and relationship in her Wild Duet Boxset features at least in passing. I'm not sure if any of the other characters that we come across also appear in other stories (or perhaps in the case of brother Colt, will do). It doesn't matter if, like me, you haven't read any previous books, as this works fine in its own right. I liked Ian and Kerri and enjoyed reading about their relationship. It is fairly clear where it's going to go. There's no way with their situation that there can't be an explosion at some point and this is a romance, so of course, it has to all work out in the end. I really enjoyed the story and would be keen to read more from Abedi. I received a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
"I am not promiscuous. Despite what everyone thinks, I'm not easy. I may act it and tease it, but it's all fun and games."
Oh this book had more twists and turns and secrets than Wild and I loved it! We have a guy who wants revenge for his sister. We have a girl who wants to enjoy physical relationships. So she goes to a smeggs club and watches. She yearns to feel something. Anything. And when she finally feels something, it’s with a man she shouldn’t. But try telling her body that. Or her heart.
❤️🎧📖❤️ Book: Trouble Series: The Wild, book 2, standalone Author: Colet Abedi Narrated by: Heather Firth and Kerr Lordygan Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Kindle Unlimited: ❌ Audio Whispersync: ✅
🗣 Narration 🗣: Heather was amazing as usual. The male narrator was not my favorite.
📚 Tropes 📚: age gap, trauma recovery, past SA of h
⚠️ Safety Squad ⚠️: childhood emotional abuse by mother, minor OW drama, no cond0ms after ONS
When Trouble comes for Kerri, she lets him in and gives him the power to destroy her. She doesn't know he's been obsessed with her, obsessed with his need for revenge for so long. And she doesn't know she's the key to that revenge. Will he actually follow through with his plan is the question, though.
Ultimately, I can say I enjoyed this story. It's beyond sexy, it's intense and really entertaining reading. I never found myself liking Trouble, though. He's a serious asshole, what happened with his sister doesn't excuse his asshole personality, but I like Kerri and the story itself.
This was a great read, I enjoyed the story of Trouble, and Kerri, they kept me captivated the whole way through. This book is intense, and the characters are well developed, and have explosive chemistry. This was emotional, raw passionate, gripping, steamy, dramatic, intense, and twisted, This is a must read!
Trouble The Wild Series, Book 2 By: Colet Abedi Narrated by: Kerr Lordygan, Heather Firth
Colet Abedi continues to wow me with another fantastic novel set in “The Wild Series” and I loved this one as much as I did the first book “Wild”, which was Wylder and Jamie’s story. This book is Wylder’s best friend’s story, Kerri was a secondary and support character in the first book, an intriguing person and one you want to know more about, so I was glad to hear she was getting her own book. Timelines overlap in this book with the first and some scenes may sound familiar, told from another point of view, starting with when Kerri took Wylder to the club, and for good reason, that is the beginning of her mysterious relationship that was mentioned in the first book but never shown. Kerri is a complex person who has been through an ordeal that left her broken, though she hides it very well. She is a perfect example of why you should not judge a book by its cover. There were several surprising reveals in this book, including her reason for going to the sex club and finding out who sent her the initial invite and why. Her mystery man turns out to be nothing but trouble, from the very start. Ian Sutherland, a self-made billionaire, is on a mission of revenge, he too learns you can not judge a book by its cover, he had Kerri all wrong, and she is not the privileged rich girl spoiled by her father as he first thought, she is so much more. Ian is just as broken as Kerri and his need for revenge has consumed his life and that revenge may have cost him the best thing that came into his life. Speaking of consuming, that is exactly what this story was, not only captivating my attention the entire time, but it tugged on my heartstrings too. I loved how everything played out in this wonderfully written and plotted story, a story of forgiveness, learning to let go, love, and live again. Colet Abedi, thank you for another amazing story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Kerr Lordygan joins Heather Firth to bring these characters and story to life. They have a complete understanding of the characters they are portraying, give each a voice that fits that character’s persona and was believable in every role they played. Heather Firth played Kerri’s role with perfection, brought out all the sides of her personality. Kerr Lordygan nailed it as Ian, grasped his bossy alpha-tude, both were great performing the roles of the secondary characters as well. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and projects them in to their performance and had you feel every single one. These entertaining storytellers are versatile voice artists and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for the fabulous listen.
The story of Ian and Kerri was intense, the dark twisted and off the charts chemistry had me reading it page after page. The steam in the story is amazing, I really enjoyed reading it and loved that Kerri was a confident strong heroine that had to overcome her past. This is my first book by Colet Abedi and I hope to read more of her.
Trouble is that type of story which propels me to my happy place. It's a dark read with secrets, making for f-bomb worthy twists. See, Kerri & Ian, aka Trouble, were a bad idea on paper, but with their hearts?! Yeah, not so much, not to mention the instant attraction when they came face to face. Each has a brokenness that calls to the other, so sometimes that works in healing, sometimes it doesn't, but I'll NEVER tell which way. However, Kerri provided the light (she's amazing despite the demons she houses) to Trouble's dark (though very protective), so you already know, it's going to be a hell of a push & pull, as walls try to block feelings. However, this journey isn't smooth, pretty, or easy, so I found myself calling names of the colorful metaphor variety, characters AND this brilliant author. Ms. Colet shredded all my feelings with a story which kept me conflicted, all the while punching me hard in the feels. And since my review cannot even touch on how great this story truly is, I'm going to end it now. So, hit that one click button to go on Kerri & Trouble's hard (but sexy) journey to find out how it all pans out! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!
Trouble owns a sex club he also owns a huge chip on his shoulder towards a man who he believes killed his sister. Kerri has known idea who trouble is or what is going on with his past what she does know is that from the first night when she meets him, she is drawn to him. Not wanting or thinking any man could get into her mind and dreams she is surprised when this happens. Trouble has become his own torment for he planned for her to enter his life what he did not plan was for himself to fall in love with her. Not just in love but whole mind body and soul in love. He had never experienced love like this before and knows he will never find anyone like her ever again because she is his one. The question now becomes once he comes cleans about everything will he be able to win her back? Well, he has to find her first and then hope she will even listen to him. A very good story that grabs you once you get into it. Nothing like you think it will be at the beginning. It also has very good characters. I received this book from Netgalley.com I gave it 5 stars. I got to listened to the audiobook of Trouble and it was just a great emotional but also sexy read, the narrators did a fantastic job with this book.
Ian aka Trouble is been watching Kerri for years, his obsession with her was out of pure hatred towards her father but along the way things change and when he got to met the real woman and her emotional scars she became his weakness.
Kerri has keep a secret for many years. A secret that has left her not a complete sensual woman until she mets Trouble. He has awaken her desires and what starts as something with no emotional attachment becomes so much more and either of them are prepare for it.
But secrets are dangerous and Ian has to choose what is most important, his revenge or love while Kerri needs to choose between forgiveness and accepting the truth.
This was a great story and if you like heros and heroines with a trouble past, insane chemistry and a love that is capable of forgiveness then this book is a must read or a great story to listen.
This is the first novel I’ve read by Colet Abedi and once I started reading it and I couldn’t put it down! I read it in about 4 hours. I couldn’t get enough of Kerri Harrington and Ian “Trouble” Sutherland.
Kerri and Ian were a bad idea from the beginning but they were just what the other needed to heal. They were perfect together. They had some darkness and brokenness that called to each other. Kerri was the warmth and humanness that Trouble needed. Trouble was the protector and lover that Kerri needed. They almost destroyed each other but in the end they made each other better.
Colet Abedi toyed with my emotions and had me all twisted up with this one. I knew going in that Trouble would break my heart but I had to read it! She broke my heart and put it back together.
Is dark, erotic romance that has you on the edge of your seat, throws you for a loop, and traps you in your thing? Colet Abedi’s Trouble is for you! It’s sexy, steamy, has a few twists you won’t see coming, and an HEA!
This is the first book of Colet’s that I’ve read and I really, really liked it!!! I just love bad boys who find out they have a heart and can feel. This bad boy wasn’t any different. Ian/Trouble is your typical bad boy but who also has revenge on his mind. And the weapon of choice...Kerri. However, Kerri was not what he had expected. She was the complete opposite. The way she made Ian feel was very puzzling to him. After getting to know her, he knew he couldn’t use her the way he had expected. His best friend, Trevor, figured it out and warned him that he was playing with Fire. That this wasn’t going to end well. Kerri was oblivious to what really was going on. She was so happy! Will Ian get his revenge and will Kerri get her fairly tale? Hurry up and grab this book to find out! Oh, and some tissues too. (You’re going to need them). So, so good! Can’t wait to read another of Colet’s books.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this novel, for me, it was an introduction to the work of Colet Abedi! Trust that this is not going to be the last book of hers I will be reading.
The story was well written, the characters are likeable and relatable. The storyline was very believable.
Trouble has sent his eyes on Kerri as part of his revenge act for things which happened in his past. As much as I am not one for revenge in this way, I totally understood Trouble's way of thinking.
However, when he finally sees Kerri in person the chemistry that they have is off the charts and he has to rethink his plans. Kerri feels this same chemistry but is working through her own personal issues.
Can these two enemies/strangers overcome their many differences and see whether this chemistry can lead to love?
4.75 stars This is the first book I have read by the author and it will not be the last. It is a dark read filled with secrets. Ian, aka Trouble, is a man with one thing on his mind….REVENGE. How is he going to get what he seeks? By using Kerri to get to her father. However, sometimes one does not get what one comes for as the object of the obsession is the complete opposite of one’s thoughts. The more Ian gets to know Kerri, the more he realizes he is unable to use her as he develops feelings for her. All Kerri is looking for is her happily ever after but is Ian the man to give it to her or will she wind up with a broken heart? A storyline fraught with drama, steam and twists; this is one book to one click and add to your shelf so you can read this story for yourself as it is that good! I volunteered to read an advance copy of this book.
This is the second book in The Wild series. Trouble (Ian) and Kerri's story is emotional, passionate, and intense, filled with drama, secrets, mystery, and romance. Ian is enigmatic, possessive, and revengeful. His past is heartbreaking. Kerri is beautiful, naive, kind, and caring. They are opposites attract, and they complement each other. I liked their banter. Their chemistry is sizzling hot. I like the friendship in the story, and I loved to see again the characters from the first book. Kerr Lordygan and Heather Firth did an excellent job with the narration. I enjoyed it. I need more!
Omg you better hold on your in for a ride. As you get reading you can for surely figure out how this book got it's name. Ian is trouble in all the ways you can think and well Kerri is what smooths him in ways he doesn't understand. Though Kerri knows more than one way he's trouble for her both good and bad.
Now you have to read this your self to fall for trouble yourself. Plus seeing how Ian and Kerri get to where they are together.
I really enjoyed book 1 with Wilder & Jamie's love story. Book 2 didn't let me down. I was worried it would have a sad ending. But not to worry it's a happy ending.
Kerri is a confident female in almost every aspect of her life except intimacy. As past trauma has made sure of that.
She frequents a secret industry sex club to experience the intimacies, reactions and acts she can only dream about. She loves to play a cat and mouse games with the patrons knowing she is in control.
But, there is one man that will turn the tables. She will become the prey to his hunter. Trouble is coming her way and he is looking for revenge.
Can she trust the happiness and fulfillment she finds with Trouble? Will Trouble ever see Kerri as more than a means to an end?
I loved this book! It has the perfect balance of passion and emotional moments.
The sensuality right from the beginning is enough to get you heart pounding and the chemistry is off the charts.
I believe the revenge aspect could have played a bigger part in their story because, as it stands, it takes second seat to the fact that it’s a secret.
I also feel like Kerry’s trauma was not resolved enough. There was no closure for me. There was nothing at the end to indicate she has moved on from this trauma or what happened to the guilty party.
I definitely recommend this as one-click material.
I received an ARC of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Ian and Kerri’s love story broke my heart and put it back together again. He was watching her and planning on using her to exact his revenge on her father. He blames her dad for his sister’s death. She is frequenting a club so she can feel like she has power again. When they meet face to face for the first time, everything changes. Ian is stricken by Kerri and when she opens up to him, he realizes he can’t use her anymore. He decides to come up with a plan b and stay away from her. The latter part is easier said than done. Kerri doesn’t know why she feels safe with Ian but she does. The longer they get to know one another the more she falls. When the truth comes out, like it always does, she realizes that she was stupid to believe in him. The only problem, they both found out a shocking piece of information about the other at the same time. Whether she will be able to forgive him and see that what they had was real remains to be seen. I highly recommend this book. In fact, I need to read the books about her best friend now, too. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest, voluntary review.
I devoured this book and I mean DEVOURED it like it was my lifeline. This book involved so many emotions, I felt so much at the same time it was pain, sadness, love. So so much love in it which made their story and this book so much more, it made it more real and mixed with the pain, mixed with their story and what happened made it so much more real.
I really enjoyed this book and I especially enjoyed reading about the characters, their passion, their pain, their background, their story. I just dont know how to even describe this book - I feel to much but one thing I know for sure is that this book is REALLY worth reading.
Ian (Trouble) Sutherland wants revenge for his sister’s death ... he plans to ruin the married man that broke his sister. And what better way to do that than through the man’s daughter. But when Ian meets Kerri, all his plans come to a grinding halt.
This is a good story, but I just couldn’t get into the characters at the beginning. Ian was just an arrogant a$$hole, while Kerri just let him run all over her. But as the story went on, I found that I began to like them more. Ian became more likeable and Kerri began to think for herself. All in all a good read.
I received an early copy courtesy of Social Butterfly PR through NetGalley in exchange for a honest review.
Oh wow Trouble was so intense I loved every minute of and I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen with the characters . From the start the couple have a connection they are drawn to one another even though one of them fights the attraction it's impossible to fight for long . I hope this isn't the last we see of these characters they all were really likable even though at times they pierced my heart .
This is my first read from this author, and holy it definitely won't be the last at all. She sucked me right in at the first chapter. This book kept me intrigued the whole way thru, I needed to know how this ended. Kerri and Ian were such an intense couple. What started out as revenge turned into so much more. This is not your typical love story, this one had a wicked twist to it
This story was intensely dramatic. Both characters have backstories that are heartbreaking. Seeing them break through, both individually and together, was enlightening. Ian and Kerri have an addictive attraction to each other. They get down right scorching at times. Others scenes are too cute. New furniture! This was a great read that I would recommend to everyone.
